and this was after the mess Trump left behind in his first term. The man was quietly working while shunning propaganda and politicking. Less than 3 months in, Trump’s here again to ruin the years of progress.

Ask yourself why a good percentage of your posts are related to that topic and why homosexuality seems to be at the forefront of your mind every day.

Would you be saying this if a Democrat was causing this huge financial disaster?

It should be clear to anyone who’s still genuinely in the middle to see how much of a shape shifting problem you guys have on the right.

Christmas came early. For whom? 🤔
LordAdam16:
There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen. - Lenin

My initial impressions. It'll be short.
1. Elated about the historic pivot.
2. Execution is irrelevant.
3. A textbook win-win situation is pacing beautifully.
4. Trump succeeds and phenomenal growth is assured. Trump fails; Democrats step on the brakes in 2027 after taking the House. In 2029, they return with their signature tax and spend policy. Either way, asset prices will go to the moon.
5. Sometime back, Candy quoted a post of mine anticipating a crash. Well, Christmas came early.
6. -10% from highs is a rookie number. I hope it sinks to the 20s. And get as close to breaching 30. That's recession territory but this is a go big or go home sitch.
7. High-quality names will be fine. They can take the walloping.

I'll share a more detailed note on the economy mid next month when I find the time.
I'll also answer yours and raumdeuter questions. We're entering a target-rich environment. Opportunities yakpa.

Lastly, the universal natural law is adapt or perish. America is vending trinkets--freedom, rule of law, open markets and trust--that are past their use-by date. The post-cold war world has attained the age of majority. It does not believe in Santa Claus anymore.
A pivot (or at least an attempt) is unavoidable. A pivot is inevitably painful. A pivot will create wealth for savvy capitalists.

You guys said fired federal employees should go find jobs in the private sector because the US doesn’t owe them jobs.
Well the private sector companies are tightening their belts and purses too as Trump keeps playing in our faces.

The concerning this is that when he went after "Big Law", the media barely discussed it.
It should have been a flashing red warning sign everywhere.

If you can't get competent representation because people are scared for their business, you no longer have a functional Judiciary.
They will go down in infamy for normalizing this man and everything he represents to the point where there’s a discussion of “both sides” as if there’s an iota of equivalence between him and the other side
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: 2026 Midterm Elections Live! by cococandy(f): 3:43pm On Apr 03, 2025
@bold, That should have been concerning for anyone with two spare neurons to rub together.

IjeBos:
Absolutely.

Freedom of Speech was that the cornerstone of US Democracy. The founders didn't want the Government pushinsing you for your views because they believed diverse views and debate were necessary for Democracy.

But Trump ran over that already. The minute he went after Big Law firms and Universities those firms and Universities acquiesced, it portended terrible things . If these big firms are scared to push back that doesn't say anything good for you and I.

Trump got more devious people around him this time. They had a plan to quelch dissent and instill fear in institutions that could stop him and is executing it. That's the reason he's going after universities and students. The protest and change movements usually begin in Universities. He's trying to bully the Judiciary now after Bullying Congress.

Trump defines what is anti-American, but the whole premise of what he is doing is UnAmerican and antithetical to what the founders envisioned.

You categorically claimed the tariffs would NEVER be applied to ALL imports. You even insulted me and claimed I didn't know Trump's plan. LoLz. You want me to show you?

Meanwhile are we not seeing the tariffs on all imports, at least from certain countries.

Trump has companies so your nitpicking is needless.

Which of these companies decided to move production to the US because of the tariffs?
Since before 2015 he’s been gripping about China taking American jobs. He knows those sentiments will get him support. Yet every crap he sells in his crappy shops were made in China. Would’ve loved to see him walk the talk and manufacture in the USA. If I were a business owner making such loud noise about the negatives of manufacturing in China, I’d at least try to be the change except I’m sure my clients are too slow to catch on.

Oh boy. This one gulped the cool aid

If they wanted American citizens to enjoy social welfare, they’d start by cutting the free billions they give to billionaires in form of tax cuts. That will fund every social program and billionaires will still be hella wealthy. It’s a simple solution but America is run like a business and the shareholders are the billionaires. The most important class of people. They must be catered to even if everyone else dies in the process.

As we’re speaking Trump is waxing more pro war than the previous administrations.
And the fact that you don’t see his team being made up of billionaires as the problem that it is, shows you’re still deep in the trenches of conservative mind washing

djon78:
That's why Elon musk and his team are cutting costs via DOGE. Since Trump's inauguration they have cut wastes by 2 trillion dollars.

What they are planning is for American citizens to begin enjoying the social welfare EU citizens enjoy. They are planning to give every American citizen $5,000 as socials. They are selling gold green card immigration for $5million and it's already over subscribed.

See no country can match America economically. They have the cheating code for now. Trump and his Economic team are doing lots of crazy things behind. Moreover all his Economic team members are billionaires.

The US over the years have wasted collosal amount of money on wars in foreign lands costing US taxpayers trillions of dollars. Trump is cutting down on wars. That's why he's stopping the funding of Ukraine war.

US for now is the King. They have advantage that's what Trump and his team are Maximizing on for now.

So much for being “Free speech absolutists”. Only heavily dense people like MAGA couldn’t that see they wanted freedom to be racist misogynistic pigs without consequences. When it comes to actual free speech AKA the freedom to criticize the government without punishment, you see that they actually hate free speech.

I was right about it the first time they rallied behind Elon on twitter so they can use slurs and spread medical misinformation fact check. I’m right about the rest of it too. Time has revealed y’all to be liars.

I wonder how this plays if Trump goes on unchecked.

In 20 years will these people here supporting him now be able to look their kids in the eyes and tell them they supported the downfall of what should have been a great nation that they could’ve thrived in.

Will they slither away quietly, change monikers and pretend they never supported this?

Time will tell.

Trump’s products are made in China.

Yall don’t know this man you come on NL to defend. Biggest liar and conman ever liveth
Reference:
The overall aim is just to bring production and jobs back to America, the first target being American owned companies making stuff abroad because of cheap labour (lower standards of living).

In effect he is saying to his people. Pay more for goods and services so your brothers and sisters can have more jobs and earn more on their existing jobs.

This is a fundamentally sound ideal for any country's economy but fraught with all sorts of minefields in practice.

It is exactly what the present Nigerian government has being trying to do albeit without the tools of sound economic control.

House Bill 25-1309 prohibits health insurance plans from denying or limiting medically necessary gender-affirming health care services. Care is considered medically necessary under the bill if a health care provider determines it to be so .

Gender-affirming care, endorsed by both the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics , can range from non-medical interventions, such as haircuts and name changes, to services such as hormone therapy and surgery to support the patient’s gender identity. The bill focuses on medical care, including psychiatric, surgical or therapeutic supplies and services. It would also include coverage for cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries.

HB-1309 would block archived reports of testosterone prescriptions from view to protect the privacy of people who take it for gender-affirming care.

School policies
House Bill 25-1312, dubbed the Kelly Loving Act in honor of a transgender woman killed during the 2022 Club Q shooting in Colorado Springs, adds various new legal protections for transgender people in education, family legal matters, and public accommodation.

Colorado courts would be prohibited from complying with orders or laws from other states that threaten to take children away from parents or caregivers who allowed the child access to gender-affirming care. When a judge is hearing a child custody case, the court would have to consider deadnaming, misgendering or threatening to publish information related to an individual or child’s gender-affirming care as a form of “coercive control.”

The bill would require that schools, if they establish policies related to chosen names, must include all reasons that a student might choose to use a name that’s different from their legal name. Dress code policies must also not include any rules based on gender, and each student must be permitted to abide by any variation of the dress code based on gender.

Any form administered by a public entity that requires an individual to disclose their name would have to include the option to provide a legal name and a chosen name. If someone’s chosen name differs from their legal name, the public entity would have to use the chosen name on all subsequent forms.
