Ahh one of those merry go round arguments.

Good thing laws are not based on what certain religions find good or bad. Somehow they’re still able to determine what’s good or bad and pass judgement accordingly.

Gabrielshow24:
No one is saying that, but your good is at best relative!!!

Your entire conclusion hinges on the fact that most people share a common conscience🤨.
Which is quite flawed!

Even in the bible before the law was invented, "everyone did what was right in their own eyes"!!!

That's the problem, your " good" is not my "good" it is subjective to you and you only!!!

What then makes your good, objectively good?
Kindly tell us what makes your "good" objectively good for society!!!

Also, you seem to conclude simply that the court will find me guilty🤨 and it seems you are not fully aware of the implications of dwelling on "conscience" as a yardstick.
I bet you half will consider what I did as "good" some will be neutral at best or don't give a f**k at all while you and your crew will seek my imprisonment.

So who then will judge?
How will he judge?
And what's the yardstick? 🙃
I bet you am going home that night!!!

Gabrielshow24:
That makes an assumption that I have a "conscience"🤨

How are you certain that I have one? 🤔
What of those that their supposed "conscience" has been seared? 🤨

What then is " good" or "bad"?
As far as I am concerned it's good to me🤨!
—Someone was blocking my way so I shot him, problem solved🤔.
Is that not good for me?
Yes I’m assuming you have a conscience because that’s a basic human characteristic. That’s why you’re considered evolutionarily above the apes and the lizards. That’s also why people who haven’t developed a conscience are characterized as mentally deficient ( sociopathy or psychopathy). It’s human normal to have a conscience.

In the not so common circumstance that you don’t have a conscience and can’t be trusted to do right just for the sake of goodness, We throw you in jail so you don’t further harm people.

We already anticipated that not everyone will be mentally at the level they need to be. So, You’re not coming across as very special here if that’s what you’re attempting to do. I don’t mean to be harsh. But we will put you in jail if you can’t determine what’s good or bad on your own. unless you’re told by holy book.

Mind you I’m not an atheist. But I’m sick of this line of argument that some religious people try to use. That most people can’t do good unless they believe in supernatural reward.

And now, the DOD in compliance with Trump’s order is wiping their accomplishments and those of women and other minorities from the record. When they tell you they support the veterans, it’s just a plain lie. Just like all the lies they told to get your votes. Only white people are deserving of whatever they got. If they’re brown or women, then it must be DEI.

Absolutely Disgraceful!

Gabrielshow24:
how do you as an atheist determine what's good or bad? 🤨
You have a conscience. You don’t need a religion to tell you what’s good or bad. How difficult is that?

You want to tell me that if you didn’t have religion as a tool, you wouldn’t understand when you have done something that hurts other people?

Did you read the bill a republican lawmaker in Minnesota introduced? To recognize dislike for Trump or his policies as a mental disorder? Basically they want to import their incel WhatsApp group definitions to become state law and of course if allowed, to become national law.

Obviously it won’t pass but it’s the audacity to think that we even have to debate their stupidity as if it’s a valid stance that deserves consideration.

But he is not fixing to become a dictator? Yea right.

IjeBos:
This is lawless. And I don't think the media isn't doing a good job so far with it.
I hear people saying why are Democrats upset that Trump is deporting gang members.

The problem is, how do we know they are Gang Members? Because the Government says they are?
How do we know that they didn't accidentally or purposefully grab a US citizen and deport them as well?
Even if they aren't US citizens how do they know that these people deported were breaking laws and not random people with tattoos just pulled from the street?
And if they were bad gang members that the US has in custody, what is the rush to deport them instead of following the established laws?
That is what due process ensures? The right of people who may be innocent to have a chance to prove it.

This is some very very dangerous shit.
Seems like a good test case for other nefarious shit.
As Democrats argue the obvious legal violations here and due process, Trump and co. can argue that Democrats don't care about your safety, they want Gang members to stay in the US. They understand that that will incite their base and give them means to more easily throw out minorities without legal recourse.

Here before Trump tries to take credit for this one. The same way he put his name on the pandemic checks.

Some older citizens are already starting to receive their $6,000+ payment this month.
Starting in April, some retired teachers, firefighters, police officers and other public-sector employees will see some extra scratch in their monthly Social Security check, courtesy of the Social Security Fairness Act (SSFA) signed into law by former President Joe Biden.

The SSFA eliminated some longstanding provisions that reduced benefits for 3.2 million retirees (and their spouses or surviving spouses) who receive government pensions that are not subject to Social Security taxes.

As of March 7, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has processed 71 percent (or 2.1 million) of the monthly beneficiary adjustments due to be made.

I don't think they call them designers. I haven't seen anyone call them "designers" and that is why Nigerians into these designers would rather buy a fake Gucci bag than an original Coach bag. If there is anything they do, they talk down on MK and Coach a lot. Zara is worst. They put that one on the same level with Primark.

There is a page on Instagram that currently calls out Nigerian celebs for wearing fake. @t20luxury is the name.

Personally I think it is better to buy unbranded bags or any other good one than spend a lot to buy "original fake". They call it turkey.
Meanwhile coach leather is far superior to any of the products in the market today. Even compared to high end brands.

At bold I feel the same way too. I love designers when I feel like splurging. But sometimes the unbranded ones might have better quality. Especially if it’s something made with pure leather.

Don’t get too comfortable
A New Hampshire man with a green card was detained by immigration officers at Logan Airport and is being held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the Donald W. Wyatt detention facility in Central Falls, Rhode Island.

Fabian Schmidt’s family said they are unsure of why he is being held. They said he has a recently renewed green card, and no active issues in court.

Schmidt had been visiting Luxembourg and flew back to the U.S. on Friday. His partner had gone to pick him up at Logan Airport, and waited four hours before calling authorities.

“It was just said that his green card was flagged,” said Astrid Senior, his mother. She said she didn’t hear from her son directly until Tuesday, when she learned he’d been hospitalized.

Senior described Schmidt being “violently interrogated” at Logan Airport for hours, and being stripped naked, put in a cold shower by two officials, and being put back onto a chair.

She said Schmidt told her immigration agents pressured him to give up his green card. She said he was placed on a mat in a bright room with other people at the airport, with little food or water, suffered sleep deprivation, and was denied access to his medication for anxiety and depression.

“He hardly got anything to drink. And then he wasn’t feeling very well and he collapsed,” said Senior.

He was transported by ambulance to Mass General Hospital. He didn’t know it at the time, but he also had influenza.

On Tuesday, Schmidt was transported to the regional headquarters for ICE in Burlington, Massachusetts, and then transferred to the Wyatt facility. The family, including his partner, who is a cardiologist in Nashua, have acquired attorneys and been working with the German consulate in hopes to have him released on bail.

Schmidt and his mother moved to the U.S. in 2007, and received green cards in 2008. He moved from California to New Hampshire in 2022.

Senior described her son as a hardworking electrical engineer with a partner and 8-year-old daughter who are both U.S. citizens.

But Zara and H&M aren’t designers. They’re not even mid range.

Why are sellers in Nigeria calling them designers and ripping people off?

Even Coach, Michael kors, Kate Spade etc that sell for around $300-$500 are not designers either.

I think they’re just misusing terms probably due to not understanding the fashion market. Then add greed and it becomes a clusterfk.

tensazangetsu20:
Honestly, one of the reasons I will never return to live in Nigeria isn’t just about money. The quality of life for the money you earn is very low. In Nigeria, you’ll see rich people boasting with designer brands, using it to show that they have “arrived.” “Oh, I buy my clothes from H&M, I buy my clothes from Zara, I only wear originals,” and all that. But the funny thing is, those same designer clothes are very cheap here.

H&M, Zara, and other well-known brands are affordable, even for people earning minimum wage. If you want, you can buy designer clothes every month without breaking the bank. Meanwhile, in Nigeria, those same clothes will cost millions, and sellers will hype them up, saying they’re “imported.” The real joke is that when these brands go on sale, they’re discounted by 75-80%. You can get a nice designer T-shirt for about 5,000 pesos (around 8,000 naira) and quality designer jeans for about 20,000 naira.

What I don’t understand is that I had family members in Canada and the U.S. while growing up, and whenever they sent us clothes, they were always torn, tattered, and worn out. But now that I’m in Chile, if I ever travel back to Nigeria, even if I decide to go for second-hand clothes, I can easily fill up two Ghana-must-go bags with just 300,000 pesos worth of quality clothes. And yet, these same people will be telling us to stay back in Nigeria, claiming that “abroad is hard.” Well, I’m here now, and I can tell you abroad isn’t what they make it seem from Nigeria

The middle class is getting battered, the democrats response is to blame the rich and eat the rich to bring them down

While there is another option to lift everyone middle class and wealthy UP

You can't have people without a job and still want to push manufacturing abroad
Okay by firing hundreds of thousands of them? This is so interesting to me. When in history have republicans ever been for the middle class? We know that they are the party that props up the billionaires to the detriment of the poor and middle class. Remember Trickle down economics? They cause recessions that enrich the wealthy and further batters the middle class who you thankfully admit are already battered.

You can’t be concerned that the middle class is getting battered and at the same time support a party that takes away their safety nets. Republicans vote against affordable healthcare every single chance they get. They vote against paid parental leave. Other countries who have this have a better work life balance that leads to a more flourishing middle class.

If you look at proposals aimed at helping the middle class, Republicans always vote against it and you defend them via rugged individualism theory. No one owes you anything kinda society. Even this tariff you’re supporting now will not favor the middle class. So are you for or against them?

Just a few pages back in response to the mass layoffs, you said jobs were not a right (or something along those lines). Basically no one is owed a job. I just smh when I read that and chose not respond further. I didn’t realize we had come to that point where American jobs were not promised. I thought that was something each administration used to try and showcase they did well.

Your party wants the committee that overseas Medicaid to cut $800 billion dollars from their budget. There’s no way that won’t affect Medicare/medicaid. More elderly parents are going to have to stay home for their adult kids to care for them instead of being in assisted living. How will they earn middle class income if they have to be home to care for a sick relative?

What you guys are saying and what you vote for do not match. Something is not aligning.

For those supporting the displacement of Palestinians from their land, keep your father’s compound available when Israel decides they have the right to move them to your home.

JERUSALEM (AP) — The U.S. and Israel have reached out to officials of three East African governments to discuss using their territories as potential destinations for moving Palestinians uprooted from the Gaza Strip under President Donald Trump’s proposed postwar plan, American and Israeli officials told The Associated Press.

The contacts with Sudan, Somalia and the breakaway region of Somalia known as Somaliland reflect the determination by the U.S. and Israel to press ahead with a plan that has been widely condemned and raised serious legal and moral issues. Because all three places are poor, and in some cases wracked by violence, the proposal also casts doubt on Trump’s stated goal of resettling Gaza’s Palestinians in a “beautiful area.”

Officials from Sudan said they have rejected overtures from the U.S., while officials from Somalia and Somaliland told The Associated Press that they were not aware of any contacts.

The idea of a mass transfer of Palestinians was once considered a fantasy of Israel’s ultranationalist fringe. But since Trump presented the idea at a White House meeting last month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has hailed it as a “ bold vision.”

Palestinians in Gaza have rejected the proposal and dismiss Israeli claims that the departures would be voluntary. Arab nations have expressed vehement opposition and offered an alternative reconstruction plan that would leave the Palestinians in place. Rights groups have said forcing or pressuring the Palestinians to leave could be a potential war crime.

Still, the White House says Trump “stands by his vision.”

Hard lessons will be learned and what makes it so sad is that it was avoidable.

Are Democrats perfect? Of course not, infact they irritate me sometimes, do we need new voices and leadership in the party? Yes we do.

However, in a million years and in the sharp difference between light and day, Democrats are better than Republicans. Way way better. Maybe if it wasn't a two party system I would understand the constant criticism of the Democratic party to be better while the wicked Republican party is excused for a lot of things and Democrats being held to a higher standard.
White people are a reason why, and that's a shame. Either way, everyone will be collecting hard lessons for the next 4 years. Hopefully, we can still recognize the United States.

How I’ve been vindicated. It’s common sense to see that they never gave AF about women. They only bring up women’s sports during election to stoke flames of discord. And then they lie through their thin lips that it’s a Democrat policy. When they’re the one bringing it up any chance they get.

But ask them to heartily support women’s right to self determination, fair wages, anti discrimination in the workplace, stiff penalties for sexual assault and they’ll all go mute.
