Those kinds of misinformation are specifically crafted for a certain group of people. They know not everyone will believe it. But they know who will believe it and by the time the truth is mainstream, it won’t matter any longer . They already got what they wanted from the class of people who they targeted with the misinformation in the first place

It's actually been proven wrong and even published by the DSS last year. I'm telling you my first instincts as a finance person cos I deal with stuff like this daily. If your first instinct was to believe him, then you are a low IQ person.

He knows it was wrong and could have quickly checked why it was such, but his brief is not to do the right thing, it's more expedient for him to win votes by lying, hence he published something that was blatantly false.

And since he has published, he must deliver the savings his lie suggests.

The DOGE thing is just political opportunism and sensationalism to make political capital out of the norms of US spending for decades. Most of it is sensationalism to win voters just like Elon shouting about 130 year old people on National database

To make you think Democrats are stealing money and win your vote eternally

At the end of the year, we would just judge the growth or decline in deficit, National spending and Social Security spending to judge the truth or otherwise of the matter

Men lie, women lie, numbers dont
Sounds like there has already been investigations going as far back as 2015 to cull waste and fraud in these systems already. They weren’t loud or sensational about it. I’ve heard of people who went to jail or had to give up their houses (depending on how big the fraud) for social security and Medicare/medicaid fraud. Doctors lose their licenses for those govt insurance frauds and go to jail on top of it.

It’s always been a thing to investigate shady people and companies who fleece the system (unless they’re billionaires of course). The difference is that it took time, through a proper investigation, by qualified experts and each detail was gone over by a fine tooth comb.

These fools think if they make enough noise and misrepresent issues, they can convince reasonable people that they’re finding unprecedented fraud that no one had ever looked into before.

Like you said, they better have the savings to show for it at the end of the year.

On another topic , you have been saying Trump wants to ban IVF while in reality he wants Americans to have more babies

'PROMISES KEPT': The order expands access to in vitro fertilization (ivf) and other fertility treatments through the reduction of out-of-pocket costs as ivf has become unaffordable for many Americans.

As I said earlier Hope you have the mental strength when reality about Trump hits you

Elon s
Right. Except that in this your imaginary techtopia that you’re salivating about, you would probably be used as biofuel. Because according to the man who your idols seem to be influenced by, that’s what unproductive people are good for. You’re not even a half decent yahoo boy. I don’t know how much coding you can learn to make yourself useful to them. Don’t get too excited.

Look at the depraved mindsets of the people your idols associate and want to model the society after

In 2008, a software developer in San Francisco named Curtis Yarvin, writing under a pseudonym, proposed a horrific solution for people he deemed “not productive”: “convert them into biodiesel, which can help power the Muni buses.”

Yarvin, a self-described reactionary and extremist who was 35 years old at the time, clarified that he was “just kidding.” But then he continued, “The trouble with the biodiesel solution is that no one would want to live in a city whose public transportation was fueled, even just partly, by the distilled remains of its late underclass. However, it helps us describe the problem we are trying to solve. Our goal, in short, is a humane alternative to genocide.”

He then concluded that the “best humane alternative to genocide” is to “virtualize” these people: Imprison them in “permanent solitary confinement” where, to avoid making them insane, they would be connected to an “immersive virtual-reality interface” so they could “experience a rich, fulfilling life in a completely imaginary world.”

Yarvin’s disturbing manifestos have earned him influential followers, chief among them: tech billionaire Peter Thiel and his onetime Silicon Valley protégé Senator J.D. Vance, whom the Republican Party just nominated to be Donald Trump’s vice president.

Trump’s first campaign was undoubtedly a watershed moment for authoritarianism in American politics, but some thinkers on the right had been laying the groundwork for years, hoping for someone to mainstream their ideas. Yarvin was one of them. Way back in 2012, in a speech on “How to Reboot the US Government,” he said, “If Americans want to change their government, they’re going to have to get over their dictator phobia.” He had also written favorably of slavery and white nationalists in the late 2000s (though he has stated that he is not a white nationalist himself).

Both Thiel and Vance are friends of Yarvin. In The Contrarian: Peter Thiel and Silicon Valley’s Pursuit of Power, reporter Max Chafkin describes Yarvin as the “house political philosopher” of the “Thielverse,” a term for the people in Thiel’s orbit. In 2013, Thiel invested in Tlön, a software startup co-founded by Yarvin. In 2016, Yarvin attended Thiel’s election night party in San Francisco where, according to Chafkin, champagne flowed once it became clear that Thiel’s investment in Donald Trump would pay off.

Since entering politics, Vance has publicly praised—and parroted—Yarvin’s ideas. That was worrying enough when Vance was only a senator. Now that he could soon be a heartbeat away from the presidency, his close ties to Yarvin are more alarming than ever. Superficial analyses of why certain tech billionaires are aligning with Trump tend to fixate on issues like taxes and regulations, but that’s only part of the story. Tech plutocrats like Thiel and Elon Musk already have money. Now they want power—as much as money can buy.

Stories about Vance tend to focus on his hardscrabble Ohio roots, but his relationship with Thiel—and his stint in San Francisco—are key to understanding his politics. Vance owes his meteoric rise to Thiel, who largely bankrolled it. As a Yale Law student in 2011, he heard Thiel give a speech in which he suggested that smart people should be working in tech instead of wasting their time at elite schools. Afterward, Vance emailed Thiel, who invited him to California.

When Vance ran for U.S. Senate in 2022, Thiel spent an unprecedented $15 million on the campaign and persuaded Trump to endorse him (Vance had previously compared Trump to Hitler). In 2024, Thiel led the charge to convince Trump to pick Vance as V.P.

Vance is a Thiel creation. And like his billionaire benefactor—who once wrote, “I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible”—Vance embraces a radical ideology hell-bent on destroying government as we know it. And they got these ideas, at least in part, from Yarvin.

Yarvin is the chief thinker behind an obscure but increasingly influential far-right neoreaction, or NRx, movement, that some call the “Dark Enlightenment.” Among other things, it openly promotes dictatorships as superior to democracies and views nations like the United States as outdated software systems. Yarvin seeks to reengineer governments by breaking them up into smaller entities called “patchworks,” which would be controlled by tech corporations.

Each patchwork would be ruled by a “realm”: a corporation with absolute power. Citizens would be free to move, but every other realm would also be ruled by corporate governments with chilling impunity. For example, Yarvin says the tech overlords of the San Francisco realm could arbitrarily decide to cut off its citizens’ hands with no fear of legal consequences—because they’re a sovereign power, beholden to no federal government or laws.

Vance has not advocated for realms—yet—but some of his most extreme ideas echo Yarvin. They’re both fond of political purges,

He predicted Trump would run again and win, then offered some advice: “I think that what Trump should do, if I was giving him one piece of advice: Fire every single midlevel bureaucrat, every civil servant in the administrative state, replace them with our people.” He added that Trump should defy any court orders that tried to halt this partisan purge of the civil service.

Yarvin calls this plan RAGE: Retire All Government Employees
. It’s captured perfectly in Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation’s blueprint for a second Trump administration, which calls for firing an estimated 500,000 federal employees and dismantling entire agencies. If Trump wins, Vance may well be in charge of executing the plan.

Vance did not get this extremist ideology from his Appalachian upbringing or—needless to say—Yale Law. It was incubated in America’s tech capital, San Francisco, where he forged crucial ties with Thiel, Yarvin, and David Sacks, the longtime Thiel associate and pro-Putin crusader who recently hosted a Trump fundraiser at his mansion in Pacific Heights. And if Vance ends up in the White House, it will be with $45 million in monthly campaign contributions from Musk, who already made a $44 billion in-kind contribution by gutting San Francisco-based Twitter and transforming it into a right-wing misinformation weapon.

Yes bird flu has been going on hence the rise in cost of eggs last year. Instead of republicans to use their sense, they used it as political fodder to rile up their base and claim they’re running to fix the cost of eggs. So yes they should be prepared for people to give them the same energy they gave.

It’s almost like we all know that science doesn’t produce results overnight. So instead of Trump to build on what’s already available, he’s dismantling the foundation of what he’s supposed to build on. Like he did during Covid.

Threw away our pandemic handbook and disbanded the team that’s supposed to help nip things in the bud. It got out of control because he refused to use foundations that were already available to help deal with these issues. And he’s doing it again.

descarado:
Birdflu has been on since last year. Almost one yr.
Do the math, sweetie.
He will import eggs into America to cushion the effect of 1 year bird flu or better import 2 months old millions of layers to balance the equation.
Or he can subsidise it.

Biden also said he will not pardon his son. He did the opposite.
Was he just talking as usual?

I always use Nigeria as reference point. Tomorrow,a new president during manifesto will tell us he will make Nigeria great. He enters office and saw what is bigger than him,he has to start somewhere. The most important. When you get the root, others will automatically adjust.

There are alternatives to egg if they are costly, we have so many. If Biden is still in power after slaughtering millions of chicken and egg price soared, I bet none of you guys will say anything.
Nobody will die in America if they don't eat egg.

Besides, the money that will be used to import these eggs and layers is what they are saving. Win win for everybody.

Is there actually bird flu?

I checked it out, it has been ongoing since last April yet, someone is blaming trump for not doing anything. Almost one year.
Everything is politics.
Black man. We will learn the usual hard way.
I beg you to actually look at real information before blindly supporting Trump .
What does being black have to do with any of this?
Not only is Trump not doing anything to help, he’s making it worse. His mass layoffs have affected the pandemic staff working tirelessly to keep this virus under control.
Now things have taken a turn for the worse, they’re scrambling to rehire them. Because they thoughtlessly fired people who are essential to the country in the name of cutting fraud.

In what world does any of this make sense to any of you? Are we in a twilight zone here?

Laboratories in a national network of 58 facilities responding to the spread of bird flu were notified Friday that 25 percent of the staff in a central program office coordinating their work was fired in the Trump administration’s mass layoffs of federal employees.

USDA’s National Animal Health Laboratory Network program office has a staff of only 14 people, but it plays a major role in responding to animal disease outbreaks. It’s responsible for data management, ensuring that labs across the country are conducting the same tests and following similar protocols to accurately and effectively track animal diseases.

The labs that make up the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians were informed that testing and other responses to the H5N1 outbreak would be slower after the layoff, said Keith Poulsen, director of the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.

Not sure how the Dems will counter it, but need to find a way.
Well republicans are on the internet (in their typical believe anything they hear pattern) spreading the news that they’re going to get $8,000 refunds from all the money Elon is saving for them 😃.

Maybe when they don’t get it, that will wake them up? Idk. Those of them regretting their votes all over the internet could be said to be on the verge of a breakthrough but you can’t trust that they won’t chose their hate in favor of communal wellbeing next time.

How can Democrats counter the misinformation to the rest of them?

How do you counter misinformation to someone who believed Trump when he said Elon is the head of DOGE and then turned around to say Elon isn’t a part of it. And said person doesn’t have any questions or concerns but goes along with it?

Barely a month shocked

Or you want to argue for argument sake.

If Biden has money to send to Ukraine at the 11th hour, he should equally have money for the farmers he slaughtered their chicken at 11th hour too.
Following that common sense logic, he was stupid to say he could change things on day one then wasn’t he? Just as long as we are choosing when to be objective and when to abandon reason.

Because if I’m supporting a politician who says he will bring down the cost of things on day one, I would’ve questioned how exactly he plans to do it. With a magic wand?

If he got in and started writing executive orders on day one to bring down prices and prevent price gouging, I’d probably try to forgive him for the gaffe and wait for the effects of his orders to take place.

But no, his first executive orders have nothing to do with improving the cost of things. Instead he’s making people jobless and increasing the cost of living worse than it already is.

Maybe at best we can conclude he’s just talking as usual without any idea what he’s talking about.

You’re making too much sense we can’t have that.

They already blamed Biden for the cost of eggs. And claimed they voted against him because of eggs and gas. So why are we suddenly given Trump grace because bird flu is happening. If they weren’t stinking hypocrites they would’ve recognized that the same bird flu limitations affected the price of eggs when Biden was president. But that wouldn’t fit the propaganda.

Now I’m wondering why we aren’t celebrating the day one reversal of prices Trump claimed he would achieve? Instead it’s gotten exponentially worse because of diarrhea mouth. Sounds like talk is cheap after all.

grandstar:
This isn't the first time the US has suffered from bird flu, buy this is the first time prices have risen so high!

Eggs are extremely critical in the American pastry industry and others. It isn't something to be taken lightly.

What steps as Trump taken to bring prices down or help consumers? None.

Why not encourage the importation of eggs until US hen sticks recover? Think outside the box. He can't because he doesn't even think.
