The math checks out
Undocumented immigrants paid $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes in 2022. Most of that amount, $59.4 billion, was paid to the federal government while the remaining $37.3 billion was paid to state and local governments.
Undocumented immigrants paid federal, state, and local taxes of $8,889 per person in 2022. In other words, for every 1 million undocumented immigrants who reside in the country, public services receive $8.9 billion in additional tax revenue.
More than a third of the tax dollars paid by undocumented immigrants go toward payroll taxes dedicated to funding programs that these workers are barred from accessing. Undocumented immigrants paid $25.7 billion in Social Security taxes, $6.4 billion in Medicare taxes, and $1.8 billion in unemployment insurance taxes in 2022.
At the state and local levels, slightly less than half (46 percent, or $15.1 billion) of the tax payments made by undocumented immigrants are through sales and excise taxes levied on their purchases. Most other payments are made through property taxes, such as those levied on homeowners and renters (31 percent, or $10.4 billion), or through personal and business income taxes (21 percent, or $7.0 billion).
Six states raised more than $1 billion each in tax revenue from undocumented immigrants living within their borders. Those states are California ($8.5 billion), Texas ($4.9 billion), New York ($3.1 billion), Florida ($1.8 billion), Illinois ($1.5 billion), and New Jersey ($1.3 billion).
In a large majority of states (40), undocumented immigrants pay higher state and local tax rates than the top 1 percent of households living within their borders.

Andrew Tate, a British American social media influencer who has proudly described himself as a misogynist, and his brother were arrested in Romania in 2022 and charged the following year with a scheme that involved exploiting seven Romanian women, seducing them and holding them against their will while filming them engaging in sex acts and selling the footage online

I think if I dig deep enough, I can find skills to survive even the worst possible outcomes of this mad man and his administration.

Them? Probably not so much. But they won’t know until it’s too late for them. Look at innocent children in Texas fighting measles outbreak that they didn’t bargain for. People in Kansas fighting TB outbreak. Flu numbers alarming red all over.

But you have grown-ups who have survived because someone loved them enough to get them vaccinated and they are on the internet spreading vaccine misinformation. Talking crap about pasteurization of milk. Two major things that can lead to increase in the spread of communicable diseases like measles, the flu and TB.

And what do you know? Measles, TB and the flu are being recorded in unprecedented numbers this season.

Who would’ve thunk it?

And as a Nigerian who has experienced these things I can tell how it will end.

These spoiled rich kids are going to have to have a full bout with reality before they learn that the good life and comfort they enjoy is not because they are special, but because they built up systems over decades.

I’m ALL for finding waste and corruption and revamping things after a thoughtful and intelligent examination. I would be fine with cutting or reducing programs that I feel are important if there was justification for it.

But this Willy-nilly slash and burn thoughtless destruction of jobs and entire programs is crazy. And those that do not see or understand the danger are either so brainwashed they can’t see it or too deeply entrenched to admit they may have made a mistake here and this needs to be stopped, or are just so full of bitterness and hatred that they will cut off their nose to spite their face as long as who ever they hate is hurting too.

I don’t get people who are still cheering and saying THIS is what they voted for. I don’t get it.
The bit in bold is the main reason.

If you consider the real reason why America doesn’t have the level of infrastructure and amenities that other 1st world countries have (racism), it will make sense to you why people vote against themselves. It’s okay as long as the group of people they hate so much will get punished in the process. Historically White people vote against all kinds of social amenities because there’s a chance it will benefit black people. Same sentiments can be found in all groups today even black folks when it comes to general wellbeing.

Imagine supporting the destruction of everything and everyone (maybe even if it doesn’t affect you directly, it affects someone you know) but you’re okay with it. Let them all suffer as long as those (insert group) get to be punished.

The longstanding federal holiday to celebrate President George Washington’s birthday turned into a day of protests Monday. In dozens of cities around the country, Americans unhappy with President Donald Trump’s policies and political appointments staged a “Not My Presidents Day” to call for government accountability.

Speakers took turns on the microphone calling out the Trump administration’s effort to freeze funding and halt the operations of numerous federal agencies, including those that oversee medical research, environmental protections, public education, air safety and social safety net programs like Medicaid

“Donald Trump and Elon Musk have made a devil’s bargain. They are going to gut federal services so they can deliver themselves the next round of government contracts and fat tax cuts for billionaires,” said Leah Greenberg, the co-founder and co-executive director of the progressive anti-Trump grassroots group Indivisible, during a protest at Capitol Hill.

“We fight against Trump and we fight for a country where everyone belongs and where everyone is included and everyone has a voice,” she added

Speaking to a crowd of protesters carrying American flags and home-made signs that includedd the phrases “where law ends tyranny begins” and “save our democracy,” Greenberg and dozens of other speakers took turns on the microphone calling out the Trump administration’s effort to freeze funding and halt the operations of numerous federal agencies, including those that oversee medical research, environmental protections, public education, air safety, and social safety net programs like Medicaid.

Among them was a trio of teenagers from Meridian High School in Northern Virginia, who traveled to Washington, D.C., on their day off from school for the President’s Day holiday to speak at the rally.

“We’re teenagers in America,” said a girl who identified herself only as Eudora. “We are scared for our futures, for our rights, for our educations and for the way our country is going.”

They called on other rally goers to stay informed, participate in protests and call their elected representatives.

Carlos Álvarez-Aranyos, a public relations consultant and founder of the newly formed anti-fascist group American Opposition, said the country is living under fascist rule four weeks after Trump was sworn in as president.

“It became fascism the moment he fired the civil servants who had investigated him. It continued when he began shutting down federal agencies without congressional approval. And it has reached a fever pitch as he has empowered Elon Musk, a private citizen with no expertise in this area whatsoever, to steal our data and destroy our government like he destroyed Twitter,” Álvarez-Aranyos said during the Capitol Hill protest.

Without Congress or the U.S. Supreme Court, with a 6-3 conservative majority, pushing back on Trump’s policies, he said the U.S. system of checks and balances has failed and called on the American people to defend democracy.

“I have a message for Donald Trump and every other fascist: You’re pitting yourselves against the collective power of the American people,” Álvarez-Aranyos said. “Make no mistake about it. You don’t stand a chance

What’s brand of mental illness is this?

Over to you guys defenders of the lying govt

Find a way to twist it and tell us what they actually meant to say.

They’re not even on the same page. Confused fools
As its influence within the federal government grows daily, one question routinely emerges about the Department of Government Efficiency: Who is in charge?

That answer continues to evade the lawyers tasked with defending President Donald Trump's administration in court.

In an affidavit filed in federal court on Tuesday, a White House official clarified that Elon Musk is not the administrator of the newly formed entity -- seemingly contradicting public statements by Trump.

"I am pleased to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency," Trump said in December 2024. Since then, and following Ramaswamy's departure from DOGE, he has routinely referred to Musk its leader.

However, according to Office of Administration Director Joshua Fischer, Musk is neither the administrator nor an employee of DOGE. Instead, Musk is a "non career special government employee" who serves as a senior adviser to the president. The filing compared Musk's role to that of Anita Dunn, a longtime political adviser who served as a senior adviser to President Joe Biden.

"In his role as senior advisor to the President, Mr. Musk has no greater authority than other senior White House advisors. Like other senior White House advisors, Mr. Musk has no actual or formal authority to make government decisions," the affidavit said.

Is Elon Musk's government role unconstitutional? What the Supreme Court might say.
The filing comes after Judge Tanya Chutkan – who held a hearing Tuesday in a case that challenges the breadth of Musk's authority – raised concerns about the "unpredictable and scattershot" methods employed by DOGE.

"DOGE appears to be moving in no sort of predictable and orderly fashion," Chutkan said. "This is essentially a private citizen directing an organization that's not a federal agency to have access to the entire workings of the federal government, fire, hire, slash, contract, terminate programs, all without apparently any congressional oversight."

Federal judges are also wrestling with how to define DOGE itself. In an order issued Feb. 14, a federal judge in Washington, D.C., ruled that DOGE should be considered an "agency" -- though he noted how the Trump administration is "curiously" avoiding that label.

"This appears to come from a desire to escape the obligations that accompany agencyhood — such as being subject to the Freedom of Information Act, the Privacy Act and the Administrative Procedures Act -- while reaping only its benefits," U.S. District Judge John Bates wrote.

White House claims Elon Musk does not run DOGE in new filing. The filing did not provide any information about who oversees DOGE, other than ruling out Musk.

The mystery about DOGE's organization and leadership does not appear limited to members of the public; lawyers for the Trump administration have similarly struggled with the question in court.

After a court hearing on Friday about DOGE's access to sensitive Treasury Department payment systems and records, Christopher Healy, senior adviser to the Treasury Department's general counsel, had little to say when asked about who runs DOGE.

"I don't know the answer to that," he told reporters Friday afternoon outside federal court in New York.

Those of you that have any positive expectations from this man have me questioning what reality you’re living in. The fact that you’re even mentioning opposition is mind blowing 🤯

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration has begun firing several hundred Federal Aviation Administration employees, upending staff on a busy air travel weekend and just weeks after a January fatal mid-air collision at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Probationary workers were targeted in late night emails Friday notifying them they had been fired, David Spero, president of the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists union, said in a statement.

The impacted workers include personnel hired for FAA radar, landing and navigational aid maintenance, one air traffic controller told the Associated Press. The air traffic controller was not authorized to talk to the media and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The National Air Traffic Controllers Association said in a brief statement Monday it was “analyzing the effect of the reported federal employee terminations on aviation safety, the national airspace system and our members.”

Just so that you guys can be aware of the nonsense you’re supporting.

TB outbreak in Kansas and Measles outbreak in Texas.
You guys want us to be “third world” so badly.

Over a thousand (1300) probationary workers at the Center for Disease Control are being let go by the Trump administration, representing about 45% of all probationary workers at the CDC.

The CDC employs 12,000 individuals, with thousands of probationary workers, most of whom work a year or less for the center. The layoffs occur amidst the massive cuts and cost savings President Trump attempts to implement to curb inflation and increase government efficiency.

Among those laid off include all 50 first-year officers of the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service, and perhaps some second-year officers. The EIS, established in 1951, recruits some of the brightest public health leaders into a two-year program to train healthcare professionals to identify and respond to disease outbreaks.

EIS personnel are among the brightest frontline public health workers, many with masters and doctorate degrees that safeguard health in America and globally. Historically, these workers have responded to public health threats such as E. coli and cholera outbreaks, helped contained the Ebola Nigeria outbreak from 2014-216 as well as investigate the source of many food-borne illnesses and outbreaks in America and throughout the world.

Here are some ways these layoffs threaten science and public health.

Hinders Disease Surveillance

EIS officers have historically identified and controlled important health threats like COVID-19 and Zika. Their expertise allows for rapid response to emerging infectious diseases, which ultimately prevents widespread transmission. Firing frontline workers will have devastating consequences for public and global health, and will hinder the CDC’s ability to respond to outbreaks in a timely fashion.

This comes at a time where there is no shortage of public health threats. Currently, the flu is surging in America, with up to 23 million hospital visits for the flu and at least 370,000 hospitalizations, according to the CDC. In addition, the bird flu is spreading uncontrollably in animals and has killed one man in Louisiana. An Ebola outbreak has also been reported in Africa. America and the world are in desperate need of qualified public health practitioners who can manage all of these public health threats.

Impedes Development of Public Health Leaders

The EIS fellowship is widely considered an elite public health program that develops leaders, many of whom serve in the CDC itself or go on to become leaders in state health departments. The type of expertise required to handle public health emergencies and threats cannot be developed on “the fly”. We do not just expect people to wake up and become doctors, lawyers or engineers. These types of vocations take skill, time and often require years of advanced schooling. Without formal training in important fellowship programs like the EIS, the United States may encounter a long-term deficit of qualified public health professionals who are specifically trained in investigating diseases.

Compromises Data Analysis
EIS personnel play a vital role in gathering and interpreting scientific data, which often informs public health policy and the allocation of life-saving resources. With fewer manpower and resources, the quality and timeliness of data may be hindered, resulting in suboptimal responses to health threats. Science thrives through evidence-based data and evidence-based interventions.

We live in an era where misinformation and disinformation run rampant, particularly with the ease at which it spreads through social media. It is critical now, more than ever, that EIS officers have the support of the U.S. government to gather, interpret and make important decisions based on scientific data.

Increased Healthcare Costs

Despite the intention for these layoffs to reduce costs, firing CDC workers and particularly EIS personnel can actually paradoxically increase costs.

What happens when there is a potential infectious disease outbreak that results in significant transmission across the population? This may necessitate more emergency room visits, more physicians working long hours to care for patients and more life-saving interventions that would need to be implemented. All of this costs money due to hospitalizations and treatments. Keeping the CDC and EIS personnel fully staffed can actually reduce costs in the long-run by early detection and prevention of many potential public health threats.

Since President Trump has taken office, the entire landscape for public and global health has drastically changed. These cuts to healthcare personnel do not merely reflect cost savings, they are a threat to science and public health. The expertise of CDC workers and EIS personnel are indispensable in protecting and safeguarding the health for people all around the world. Without them, humanity is less prepared against future global health threats and progress in science and health will remain guarded.

Same shit he pulled with the FAA that possibly resulted in the fatalities few days after.

Pulling the same shit with nuclear security

Rent a clown, get a circus.

WASHINGTON — National Nuclear Security Administration officials on Friday attempted to notify some employees who had been let go the day before that they are now due to be reinstated — but they struggled to find them because they didn’t have their new contact information.

In an email sent to employees at NNSA and obtained by NBC News, officials wrote, “The termination letters for some NNSA probationary employees are being rescinded, but we do not have a good way to get in touch with those personnel.”
The individuals the letter refers to had been fired on Thursday and lost access to their federal government email accounts. NNSA, which is within the Department of Energy and oversees the nation’s nuclear stockpile, cannot reach these employees directly and is now asking recipients of the email, “Please work with your supervisors to send this information (once you get it) to people’s personal contact emails.”

The Department of Energy did not immediately respond to an NBC News request for comment.

President Donald Trump’s administration has acted with unprecedented speed — and in some cases, questionable legality — in seeking to cut large portions of the federal government, laying off staff and ending contracts. But that speed has resulted in complications, including firing people agencies actually want to keep.

The emails come after multiple staff — all civil servants — at the NNSA received termination notices late Thursday, according to a source with direct knowledge of the notifications. NBC News reviewed the termination notification, which included the subject line: “Notification of Termination During Probationary/Trial Period.”

The NNSA is tasked with designing, building and overseeing the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile.

The termination notices, which read “effective today,” came within hours of a Russian drone striking the Chernobyl power plant in Ukraine. NNSA tracks nuclear risks in Ukraine, including through sensor systems.

The NNSA saga comes as the Trump administration executed mass firings throughout the federal government this week, primarily slashing the jobs of employees categorized as “probationary.”

Some departments saw massive numbers of layoffs, like the Department of Homeland Security, where over 400 people were told that their jobs were cut.

An NNSA nuclear safety specialist fired Thursday because she was a two-year probationary employee told NBC News she was still locked out of her email, but her manager had called to inform her that her “termination was rescinded” and to report to work on Tuesday.

“I will be honest, I intend to keep looking for work,” the employee said. “I will go back, but as soon as I find another role, I’ll be leaving.”

Asked why she will still look for employment elsewhere, she said that she has “no faith I will keep my job.”
