How’s this making America win?

Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by cococandy(f): 12:10pm On Mar 28
This guy shared his interaction with MAGA on his page and I must say it resonates with the kind of things you see on this thread.

It’s projection combined with deep amorality . There’s no internal moral compass. Rules only exist as obstacles to be overcome. It’s difficult for a sensible person to fathom. Take something like slavery for example. A normal person finds it abhorrent because they do the empathic introspection and think, “that’s horrifying, I’d never want to be a slave, it should be eradicated from society”.

MAGA thinks, “oh that’s horrifying, I’d never want to be a slave, I NEED TO MAKE SURE I’M ALWAYS THE MASTER”.

Because all rules are external. They have no internal guidance and that’s why they’re so easy to manipulate.

P.A
I knew MAGA had some sort of pathological mental issue, but the other day I had an encounter with two in the wild and it was bone-chilling. Here's the story:

I was eating lunch alone after a hike here in California. I sat at the bar to avoid the wait. Two people sat next to me and they struck up a conversation. They said they were from South Carolina and they were visiting national parks. Because of a negative interaction they had that day they asked why so many Californians hate maga. I told them a few reasons, including the recent DOJ directive by Trump telling law enforcement agencies to actively investigate Americans who don't support "christian values" and "traditional families" as potential terrorists. What they said next was incredibly eye-opening. They said, "That's how we felt when Biden targeted us".

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I told them that Biden HAD NEVER targeted people in that way. They swore he did. I asked them to produce evidence of this and the husband in the duo said "He put Roger Stone in jail". I said that Roger Stone was investigated, charged, prosecuted, tried, and convicted on specific, established, statutes. I then said that anyone who breaks the law should go through that process, but not having certain "values" isn't a crime. They followed it up by saying that the Jan 6 insurrectionists were "regular Americans held for their political beliefs" ... I countered that they were held for their ACTIONS not their BELIEFS and they were investigated based on their actions, not that their beliefs were investigated to motivate charges against them. They COULD NOT UNDERSTAND the difference. They then said Trump was doing a great job in Iran by hitting them before they hit us. It finally clicked.

Conservatives are wired to be afraid of a hypothetical scenario and respond by performing that scenario against their perceived antagonist FIRST. Everyone else... normal people... are programmed to respond to a hypothetical scenario by preventing the scenario from happening, not by DOING IT TO OTHERS FIRST.

For example, if they fear "the left" coming for their guns, instead of just writing laws to stop that from happening they want to TAKE THE LEFT'S GUNS. If they fear a country bombing us, they don't try to diplomatically defuse tensions, they BOMB THEM FIRST. If they fear being put in detention camps by atheists they build camps and round up atheists.

Is there a psychological term for this behavior? Because it's terrifying and too easy to manipulate. They are willing to accept any ludicrous permise and act it out on others. We're not getting out of this within my life time. It will take decades to remove this sad disease from America.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

My mind nearly shut down when he said Trump only meant he wouldn't start "new wars" and Iran wasn't a new war since we've been at war with them for 47 years (4 of which Trump was President and 8 of which Reagan was selling them arms). shocked undecided

I really didn't think there were real people alive that swallowed that nonsense. And even worse would repeat it in public. But here is Raumdeuter proving why Trump loves the uneducated.

Hillary called them out perfectly years back. Deplorables.

You look like pathetic doofuses sucking up to racist folks. It’s nauseating 🤢

Pete Hegseth removed 4 decorated Army officers from a promotion list. Two are Black. Two are women. The Army Secretary refused—called their records exemplary. So Hegseth overrode it himself. Possibly illegally. His chief of staff reportedly said Trump wouldn’t want to stand next to a Black female officer at public events. These officers gave decades to this country. Hegseth erased them & called it meritocracy. Call it what it actually is: white Christian nationalism.

Trump supporters say they are are logical that’s why they say they can’t vote a woman.

I watched interviews of them saying a female president will get emotional on her period and start a war.

Trump has been on emotional disjointed rants on the internet while waging an unprompted war on Iran. They’re still lying to themselves that they and him have common sense. I’d love to be as delulu as you guys.

Trump says “smart people don’t like me“.

Do with that what you may 😂😂😂
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by cococandy(f): 12:15am On Mar 28
When you confront them with a truth they can’t handle they deflect by trying to tell you you’re emotional.

Normal person: “name one policy that Trump has put in place to address any of the issues he said he would?

Trump supporter: “that’s emotional”.

“Okay explain why he attacked Iran after claiming he’s anti war

“Oh that’s emotional too. How dare you ask me to use my brain to give a response that will force me to confront my cognitive dissonance?”

The steupidity is off the charts. It’s like watching folks with schizophrenia trying to string sensible responses together.🤣🤣
IjeBos:
Which was the emotional part?
All the facts about Trump's supposed policies?
Or the facts that the Republican haven't really done anything to help the average American?
Or the fact that Republicans always trash the economy and increase the deficit?
Or the fact that Republicans always get us into wars?
Or the fact that the Republican base are people without college degrees?

Oh, I get it, you seem not to understand the definition of emotional.
Emotional is the fact free repetitive breakdowns you do here daily.

I hope anyone who pays this fee knows they’re not getting it back. They’ll just join the list of people who have been scammed by this con man

Fans from several countries participating in this summer’s World Cup must deposit up to $15,000 in bond payments to be granted a tourist visa to enter the United States, while organizer FIFA is privately pressing the Trump administration to make exemptions for players.

The difficulties have emerged as nationals from certain countries travelling to the U.S. on a business or tourist visa — known as B-1 and B-2 visas — have been subject to bond payments after policy changes by President Donald Trump’s administration.

This is what the rest of the world thinks of us and the sane people in the US are sad about this, but we do understand.

In any relationship, if trust is broken it can’t be rebuilt overnight. The USA has lost allies, thrown away trade deals. The rest of the world has built alliances elsewhere. If the people of the USA think when this is over we’ll come running back, they’re insane. There will always be the thought that ‘They’ve done it to us not once, but TWICE. They won’t get another chance’. The world order has changed, possibly forever. One man did that.

Allen Clifton-

I recently told a MAGA Republican that, with all due respect, I couldn't give a shit about anything they claim to believe because they've all proven that they don't really believe in any of it.

Obviously, they didn't take too kindly to my blunt remarks, but I couldn't care less.

I don't want to hear from any of these people about what they claim to believe when they've proven, over and over again, that they'll say one thing today, then completely contradict themselves tomorrow — and they'll do it shamelessly.

I'm not going to waste my time listening to Trump supporters claim to care about this or be outraged by that, then jump through hoops making excuses for this orange idiot when he does exactly what they said they opposed or were against.

They all lost their minds when oil hit $100 a barrel and gas prices reached $4 under Joe Biden due to a war he had nothing to do with. Nearly every gas pump I went to had one of those “I did that” stickers depicting Biden pointing to the price of gasoline.

Yet when Trump starts the war that leads to $100-a-barrel oil and $4 gas, now they're okay with that and making excuses for him.

F*ck off.

For years, Trump and every Republican who supported him claimed that everyone from Barack Obama to Hillary Clinton to Joe Biden to Kamala Harris would lead us to war with Iran — but Trump never would, and that's why we support him!

Funny thing is, Obama never took us to war with Iran. Neither did Biden — but Trump sure as hell has.

But that's okay, they have more excuses for that, too.

I'm not even going to go too deep into their fake Christianity. Nearly every day, Trump proves that he's the antithesis of everything that's truly Christian — including recently celebrating the passing of a veteran and invoking the dead wife of a former member of his administration to try to slander their character. I've said it plenty of times: you cannot be a Trump supporter and legitimately call yourself a real Christian. The two are not reconcilable.

The list is seemingly endless.

They cared about inflation until it's still high under Trump, now they're okay with it.

They cared about the national debt until Trump's added to it at a record pace, now they're fine with it.

They were against corruption until we see some of the most blatant corruption in our government we've ever seen by this president, now it's fine.

They were against “waste, fraud, and abuse,” but then make excuses for Kash Patel when he abused his position by fraudulently claiming he was going on a business trip to Italy so he could waste tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars to go party with the men's hockey team.

They were all about releasing the Epstein files and going after child predators until Trump ordered his DOJ to cover up those files to protect those predators. All the while, the only person mentioned more in those files than this president is Jeffrey Epstein. Now, they aren't too concerned about going after and locking up people who abuse children.

They threw fits when Obama went golfing, but are okay with Trump golfing more in five years than Obama did in eight.

They wanted Hillary Clinton thrown in prison for how she handled emails while she was Secretary of State, but didn't have a problem with Trump stealing Top Secret documents and storing them in bathrooms and basements at his golf club, completely unsecured and not at all protected.

The list of the bullshit they all claim to care about is seemingly endless — until Trump does it, and then all they do is make excuses.

So, no, I don't give a damn what any Trump supporter has to say about any particular issue because they don't really believe in anything.

And if they want people to show them more respect, then they have to earn it by first requiring Donald Trump, the person they worship, to actually show them some respect.

Because there's no way he says and does the things he does, which make his supporters look like complete idiots trying to defend him, if he has even the slightest bit of respect for any of them.

Can you believe the “morally upright” “family values” “God is back in the White House” hypocrites actually have no shame in blatantly and openly saying they support a pdfile.

What a travesty of all that is good and holy!

IjeBos:
I heat you, that's what we nonconservatives do.
We want fairness and justice and ruminate on it and get pained about anything that may seem unfair so we even go to lengths to make sure there is no perception of unfairness or bias.
So, what we do, is we bent so backwards to not be seen as biased we become biased the other way.

Case in point Merrick Garland and how he ran his investigations.
Or James Comey
Or I don't know if you remember the controversy around Lynch and the tarmac meeting with Clinton. Republicans railed on that; how could an ex-president meet with the AG for a few minutes when their planes are waiting on the same tarmac while her department is investigating his wife. All the while Trump is posting on Truth social who his DOJ should investigate.

There are two sets of rules for Democrats and Republicans.
And I for one aren't living under that paradigm anymore.

People do shave their heads for cancer.
I have helped many many many of my patients shave off their hair before starting chemo.

The idea is that since chemo could make your hair fall off in uneven patches, it’s best to shave it off yourself in a nice even way so that it looks better.

I hope your family member beats that cancer!

Well in this case I’m trying to give the posters some grace because most people who have never seen anyone with cancer before. They can only relate to the media images they’ve seen.

Usually the patients they see online have probably been sick for a long time plus side effects of chemo. So they have that typical hairless emaciated appearance.

That’s what makes cancer so bad. Some will never give you symptoms until late stage because it’s already started growing in uncontrolled and uncomfortable ways. Terrible disease!
