Syrian refugees in Sudan say they feel welcomed but life is hard and they may still risk their lives to reach Europe
Khartoum, Sudan - When Mohammed left the Syrian city of Raqqa in early 2011, searching for a job and looking to avoid compulsory military service in his country, Sudan seemed like a natural place to go to.
Syrians are permitted to enter the country without a visa and, once there, enjoy the same rights and services - such as access to state education and healthcare - as a local. And, unlike the citizens of many other Arab countries, Syrians also get special treatment when it comes to securing residency permits - the result of an agreement between the two countries that dates back to the 1960s.

But Mohammed never imagined that, just a few months later - after revolution and then war came to his country - his family would be forced to follow him and that Syria would, as he says, be "lost".

'Guests, not refugees'

"After the revolution in Syria, life became tougher there," the 26-year-old explains. "My family had to escape, especially after ISIL [the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant] took over our city."

Now his family is among the 60,000 Syrian refugees that are, according to Ali al-Sadiq Ghandour, a Sudanese foreign ministry spokesperson, residing in the country.

Are countries not part of UN it wasnt solely Nigerian Govt Initiative? The IOM facilitate the voluntary return and work with embassies,immigration ,airport ,give transport fares,clothings if needed to the deportees/returnees.

On the road from Tunis to Bizerte, Quirtami starts to sing a love song. It is about a woman, as sensual as a doe, who is the object of a man’s passion, a man who has left for an unknown destination. “There are many songs about migration in Tunisia,” she explains with a melancholy smile, “because many are those who left never to return.”

Quirtami’s husband left for Italy on March 29, 2011, along with five other men from Sidi Mansour, a small town in the Sfax governorate, only 180 kilometres away from the Sicilian island of Lampedusa. An almost imperceptible distance for those who were dreaming of Europe, breathing the air of the revolution, and longing for a better job and a different life. Quirtami has not heard from him since.

“We are poor,” she says unapologetically. “And my husband wanted to find a job and earn more money for our children because they, too, want designer shoes, a cell phone, and all the things that you young people are after,” she continues in a voice that sounds like a reproach against the demands of modern youth.

The self-immolation of street vendor Mohamed Bouazizi on December 17, 2010, in response to the confiscation of his wares by a municipal official triggered a series of protests across Tunisia. The revolution led to the fall of Ben Ali’s régime on January 14, 2011. During the revolution and demonstrations, which were brutally repressed by the police, thousands of Tunisian citizens attempted to cross the Mediterranean. According to a research report by the Migration Policy Centre combined with data from the Ministry of Interior, 29,685 unauthorised Tunisians arrived in Italy by sea in 2011 alone, and 35,000 between 2011 and 2012. Among those, more than five hundred are missing.

In any case, it's clear that the immigration crisis in Europe is far from being resolved. The flow of refugees from the Middle East and Africa isn't decreasing and is even growing. During 2016, 180,000 immigrants arrived by ships, and in the first 7 months of this year more than 110,000 people have landed on the European shores. Italy is taking the main blow. And the chief supplier of illegal immigrants from Africa is Libya. Arabs come through short cut route i.e sea through Greece but no one talks about them instead they get sympathy.

I am a realist as well as a spiritual person, a born Christian to be precise.
I don't want to bore you with so much details, all I have to ask is: what do you do when you are told that your mum is a witch. “We want to meet the people who we don’t otherwise meet,” said Pastor Rickard Grügiel to Svergies Television (SVT).

“We have no special events for people in their forties and so we thought that it was a good opportunity in the church to meet them and show that we are just like everyone else,” he said.

The church, in the city of Växjö in southern Sweden, has been steadily losing members, not an unusual development for the Church of Sweden over the past few years, with a nationwide loss of 5,000 members annually, according to the paper.

While the wine-tasting has been advertised as a harmless attempt to get people socializing, some members have complained that the Öjaby church has taken things one step too far.

“I think it’s sad that the Swedish church embraces the idea that people need to have a glass in their hand to be able to socialize with one another,” said Lars Larsson, member of the Swedish church and Swedish temperance organization IOGT-NTO.

“It’s a bad idea and I don’t think this should it will lead to good things for the member acquisition process,” he said.

Muslim father shows Mercy to the man who murdered his son because “Forgiveness is the greatest gift in Islam,” Abdul-Mumin Jitmoud said during the hearin
The father of a slain Muslim pizza delivery driver forgave and embraced the man who was sentenced to prison for playing a part in his son's death.

During the sentencing on Tuesday, Abdul-Munim Sombat Jitmoud hugged the defendant, Trey Alexander Relford, who cried as it happened.
The father said he did it in the spirit of Islam.
"Islam teaches that God will not be able to forgive" someone until the person who was wronged forgives that person, Jitmoud told CNN affiliate WKYT. "The door of opportunity for God to forgive him is open. ... So, reach out to Him. You have a new chapter of good life coming," he told Relford in court.
In April 2015, Salahuddin Jitmoud was making one of his last deliveries for the night as a Pizza Hut delivery driver when he was stabbed to death and robbed at an apartment complex in Lexington, Kentucky, according to WKYT. His body was found lying in the breezeway of the complex.
Three people were arrested in the crime, but a grand jury chose only to indict Relford, WKYT reported. Officials say Relford planned the robbery, but he denied killing Jitmoud.
Relford was sentenced to 31 years in prison after pleading guilty to complicity to murder, complicity to robbery, and attempted evidence tampering in the stabbing death of Jitmoud.
Jitmoud's father told Relford he forgives him "on behalf of Salahuddin and his mother," who died two years before her son.
"It's been two years and seven months of suffering along with many nightmares," Jitmoud told CNN. "Whatever happens to you is from Allah. Let the believer put their trust in Him."
According to CNN affiliate WLEX, Relford told the Jitmoud family, "There's not much I can really say. I'm sorry about what happened that day. I cannot do nothing to give that back to you."
Despite this, Jitmoud reached a place of forgiveness.
"I'm angry at the devil, who's misguiding you and misleading you to do such a horrible crime," Jitmoud told Relford in court Tuesday. "I don't blame you. I'm not angry at you. I forgive you."
He said he read the Quran more often to find peace. The 51st verse of the ninth chapter of the Quran is one verse that comforted him the most.
"Say, 'Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector.' And upon Allah [God] let the believers rely."
After the sentencing, Jitmoud said he whispered into Relford's ear to "do good deeds" when he gets out of prison and that he has "confidence that Allah is forgiving."
