Habeebat Saliu, a graduate of Tai Solarin University of Education, had her fourth child in December 2017, after which her postpartum bleeding refused to stop after two months. She went back to the clinic where she had her baby and was told that there is a remnant of the placenta and she needed evacuation, which was done immediately yet there wasn't any changes and she went for the second and third evacuation, thereafter she was referred to Gbagada General Hospital. At Gbagada General Hospital she was diagnosed as having Uterian Cancer and was again referred to Lagos State Teaching Hospital, at their Oncology unit she was told she needed radiation Therapy and Chemotherapy but her blood level was too low for the procedure and she needed to go home and boost her blood. She has since taken several pints of blood to do so.

There is hope for Abeebat as her type of Uterian Cancer is curable, she needs immediate Chemotherapy to stop the spread of the cancer to her Lungs then finally surgery.

TravelRe: Canada Working With US In Nigeria To Stem Asylum Claims by cocolacec(op): 3:37am On May 08, 2018
The federal government is building extra physical facilities at the popular crossing into the province of Quebec at the end of a road in New York state, where the vast majority of migrants enter Canada.

The number of asylum applications received by Canada in 2017 is the highest since the country's Immigration and Refugee Board was created in 1989, according to Pew Research.

This has strained government resources, especially in Quebec.

Those facilities will be able to handle about 500 migrants at a time for short-term accommodations.

According to Canadian government figures, last year most asylum seekers were from Haiti (8,286) followed by those from Nigeria (5,575).

Government officials reached out directly to the Haitian community in the US in an effort to dispel myths being circulated on social media about the ease of getting Canadian residency.

Ottawa has earmarked C$173.2m ($135m; £99.5m) to improve border security and speed up processing of asylum claims.

Authorities are also fast-tracking work permits for claimants so they can work while they wait to see whether their claims are granted.

TravelCanada Working With US In Nigeria To Stem Asylum Claims by cocolacec(op): 3:36am On May 08, 2018
Canadian immigration officials are working with US counterparts in Nigeria to stem the number of migrants crossing illegally into Canada.

Nigerian asylum seekers have been crossing into Canada at its southern border with the US in growing numbers.

Many were in the US with American visas before walking into Canada.

In 2017, more than 20,500 migrants crossed illegally into Canada at the US border to seek asylum - about 40% of total claims.

In the first three months of this year, over half the 5,052 asylum claims by those who crossed the border were Nigerian nationals, and most had valid US visas.

Federal Transportation Minister Marc Garneau said on Monday about 90% of all "irregular" border crossers do not meet the criteria for refugee status and will eventually be deported.

Avoiding an official border checkpoint lets migrants circumvent the Safe Third Country Agreement, an accord between the US and Canada that forces people to claim asylum in their first country of arrival.

The policy is meant to better manage refugee claims and to avoid "asylum shopping" between countries, but is also among the reasons asylum seekers are avoiding official border points.
Three Canadian immigration officials are now in Lagos working with American authorities to combat abuse of US travel documents.

Canada says it has already seen an increase in US travel visa denials for Nigerians citizens it believes want the document solely for the purpose of coming to Canada.

Federal Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen is also travelling to Nigeria this month to meet with government officials there.

Nigeria has struggled to contain Islamist militant group Boko Haram, which has waged a campaign of violence since 2009 that has displaced over two million people. LGBT Nigerians also face possible persecution for their sexuality .
Canada has been trying to reduce the numbers of migrants seeking asylum outside of official border checkpoints.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government has also been outspoken about Canada being open to refugees and immigration, though officials have tempered their message in recent months .

The country is awaiting a possible influx of migrants now the weather is warmer.
HealthHow Government And Big Pharma Created An Epidemic by cocolacec(op): 11:48am On May 05, 2018
Story at-a-glance
Americans use the most opioids of any nation; in 2013, 16,000 Americans died from overdosing on narcotic painkillers
The drug industry created the opioid addiction epidemic by introducing long-acting opioid painkillers like OxyContin and changing pain prescription guidelines to make opioids the first choice for many types of chronic pain
Drug industry also promoted the long-term use of opioids, even though there’s no evidence that using these drugs long term is safe and effective, and downplayed the risk of addiction to these drugs
Now the U.S. government has approved opioid legislation that feeds profits right back to the drug industry by focusing on treatment for painkiller addiction and making anti-addiction drugs more easily available.

By Dr. Mercola

While most drugs come with a long list of potentially devastating side effects, painkillers — courtesy of their addictive nature — tend to be among the most lethal. Prescriptions for opioid painkillers have risen by 300 percent over the past 10 years,1 and Americans use 80 percent of the world's opioids.2

In Alabama, which has the highest opioid prescription rate in the U.S., 143 prescriptions are written for every 100 people.3 A result of this trend is that overdose deaths from painkillers now far surpass those from illicit street drugs.

In 2013, about 23,000 Americans died from overdosing on prescription drugs, and painkillers accounted for about 16,000 of those deaths.4

Drug Industry Is Responsible for Mass Addiction

Many believe the drug companies that create and sell these drugs need to be held accountable for this dangerous trend, especially since several have been caught lying about the benefits and risks of their drugs.

As noted by the Organic Consumers Association (OCA),5 the drug industry has "fostered the opioid addiction epidemic" in several ways, by:

• Introducing long-acting opioid painkillers like OxyContin, which prior to reformulation in 2010 could be snorted or shot. Many addicts claimed the high from OxyContin was better than heroin.

In fact, from a chemical standpoint, OxyContin is nearly identical to heroin, and has been identified as a major gateway drug to heroin

• Changing pain prescription guidelines to make opioids the first choice for lower back pain and other pain conditions that previously did not qualify for these types of drugs.

Even the World Health Organization (WHO) has had a hand in this problem, although it restricted its promotion of narcotic painkillers to cancer patients6

• Promoting long-term use of opioids, even though there's no evidence that using these drugs long term is safe and effective

• Downplaying and misinforming doctors and patients about the addictive nature of opioid drugs. OxyContin, for example, became a blockbuster drug mainly through misleading claims, which Purdue Pharma knew were false from the start.

The basic promise was that it provided pain relief for a full 12 hours, twice as long as generic drugs, giving patients "smooth and sustained pain control all day and all night."

However, for many the effects don't last anywhere near 12 hours, and once the drug wears off, painful withdrawal symptoms set in, including body aches, nausea and anxiety. These symptoms, in addition to the return of the original pain, quickly begin to feed the cycle of addiction.7

A 2015 article8 in The Week does a great job revealing the promotional strategy developed by Purdue, and backed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), that has led to such enormous personal tragedy. As noted in this article,

"The time-release conceit even worked on the FDA, which stated that 'Delayed absorption, as provided by OxyContin tablets is believed to reduce the abuse liability of a drug.'"

New Hampshire Suing Over Deceptive Marketing

Several states are indeed trying to hold drug makers accountable for the epidemic of addiction.9

One of them is New Hampshire, where the state attorney general's office has filed a lawsuit against Purdue Pharma, accusing the company of deceptive marketing, saying it misrepresented the risks and benefits of long-term opioid use for chronic pain.

But while the attorney general's legal team consists of three people, Purdue has 19 lawyers on the case. As reported by Concord Monitor:10

"One year after the state attorney general's office filed subpoenas against five large drug companies to discover how addictive painkillers have been marketed in the state, the pharmaceutical giants have handed over nothing more than legal briefs ...

The current legal fight is whether the attorney general's office can hire outside help.

All of the drug companies have refused to turn over any internal documents, as long as the attorney general's office works with hired counsel — Cohen Milstein — a firm that has litigated similar cases against the pharmaceutical industry.

Lawyers representing the drug companies have argued Cohen Milstein has an inherent bias against them because it will only get paid if the state takes future legal action against the drug companies.

A Merrimack County Superior Court judge recently sided with the state, but the drug companies are refusing to budge ... 'They don't want us to know, that's for sure,' Boffetti said. 'We can have no resources; they'll do everything they can to prevent us from seeing the documents.'"

That is why u hardly see us pestering good and serious students for sex. rather, we respect them and learn from them.

Colleges and University are not meant for prostitution.Whether a student sleeps with a dirty student is not a lecturer’s business.Your Job is to teach and nothing else.In developed countries no lecturer can force a student to sleep with him without loosing his/her job and there is no carry over / extra year for students.

They should deport every single violator of visa stipulations back to Nigeria. Every single one. If you want asylum, apply through the stipulated channels. If you travel on a visitor's visa, return after the stipulated time rather than hiding around. Africans should be part of the solutions to the problems of the continent rather than trying to infest the rest of the world with their problems. Trust Nigerians to always be the most desperate. They saw Haitians moving to Canada, so trust them to hijack the process, the same way they saw Syrians, Libyans etc fleeing war to Europe and Nigerians hijacked the process too and became the no.1 illegal migrants to Europe. The funny thing is it wasn't people besieged by Boko Haram in Borno or Yobe that were fleeing to Europe but Edo, Igbo and Yoruba people wasting thousands of dollars that they could have invested into businesses to pay traffickers to aid them in their North African and Mediterranean crossing. These destination countries have to start being pretty ruthless if they want to end the illegal migrant siege.
Nigerians are not the No 1 illegal immigrants to Europe.Syria,Iraq and Afgahnistan are the top illegal migrants in Europe. Nigerians are only one of the top nationalities of asylum seekrs in Italy.
Citizenship of first-time applicants: most from Syria and Iraq
Syria was the main country of citizenship of asylum seekers in the EU Member States in 2017, a position it has held each year since 2013. In 2017, the number of Syrian first-time asylum applicants in the EU-28 fell back to 102 thousand from 335 thousand in 2016, while the share of Syrians in the EU-28 total dropped from 27.8 % to 15.8 %. Despite this drop, Syria was the main country of citizenship in fourteen EU Member States.

Iraqis accounted for 7 % of the total number of first-time asylum applicants and Afghanis for 7 %, while Nigerians and Pakistanis accounted for 6 % and 5 % respectively.

Among the most numerous groups of citizenship of first-time asylum applicants in the EU-28 in 2017, the largest relative increases compared with 2016 were recorded for Nigerians (share up 2.2 percentage points) and Bangladeshi and Guineans (up 1.6 percentage points each). There was also considerable growth in relative terms in the number of applicants from Turkey, Venezuela, Côte d’Ivoire, as well as from Eritrea and Albania. The largest relative fall in the number of applicants, among the most common countries of citizenship for asylum seekers in 2017 (except for Syria), was recorded for Afghans, Iraqis and Iranians.

Countries of destination: Germany, Italy and France the main
With 198 thousand applicants registered in 2017, Germany accounted for 31 % of all first-time applicants in the EU-28. It was followed by Italy (127 thousand, or 20 %), France (91 thousand, or 14 %), Greece (57 thousand, or 9 %), the United Kingdom (33 thousand, or 5 %) and Spain (30 thousand, or 5%).

Among Member States with more than 5 thousand first-time asylum seekers in 2017, the number of applicants compared in relative terms with the previous year rose most in Spain (+96 %, or 15 thousand more first-time asylum seekers in 2017 than in 2016), France (+19 %, or 14 thousand more), Greece (+14 %, or 7 thousand more) and Italy (+4 %, or 5 thousand more). In contrast, the largest relative decreases were recorded in Germany (-73 %, or 520 thousand less first-time asylum seekers in 2017 than in 2016), Austria (-44 %, or 18 thousand less), the Netherlands (-17 %, or 3 thousand less) and the United Kingdom (-15 %, or 6 thousand less) (see Figure 3).

So you think because Canada is more liberal, they should just throw their borders open for any illegal immigrant in US. Just to enlighten your ignorant suggestion, Canada population is mere 36 million compare to US that is over 325 million. Influx of illegal immigrants from US will significantly affect the welfare system and economic plan of the country.

For the quoted above, after September 11, you need a visa to enter Canada from US and vice versa unless you have a Canadian passport or US passport. Even a permanent resident in Canada needs a visa to enter US and same applies to US permanent resident. The fact that Canada is still accepting these illegal immigrants without Canadian visas shows how hospitable Canada is. US will never do the same if it were to be the other way round. US should get their shiit together and be accountable for people they give visiting visa
Just so you know. Canada and US are 2 separate countries.
Asylum Seekers dont need a visa to enter any country because they are fleeing from persecution from their country of origin.Asylum seekers can come in through boats ,expired or unexpired visas ,fake passports etc grin. The pulling factor for Nigerians going to Canada now is the permanent residence granted if their asylum case is approved ,You get to apply for Canadian passport after 4 years.

TravelSchengen States issued 14.3m visas for short stay in 2018 by cocolacec(op):
Statistics published by the European Commission reveal that slightly more than 16 million applications for short-stay visas were lodged at the consulates of the Schengen States in 2018, a very small decrease of 1% compared to 2017.

This was driven by a decline in the number of applications in the Russian Federation, which decreased almost 5% to 3.7 million, although Russia remains by far the top source country for Schengen visa applications. The first full year of the visa waiver for Ukrainian nationals holding biometric passports also explained the overall decrease, with applications in Ukraine plummeting by 73% to 190 000.

The number of applications lodged in Belarus (680 000, -4.8%), Turkey (880 000, -9.5%) and Algeria (710 000, -8.8%) also showed substantial decreases.

By contrast, strong growth in demand continued in China, with 2.8 million applications representing an increase of 11.3% over 2017.

Applications lodged in India surpassed the 1-million-mark for the first time, registering an increase of 17.4% and overtaking Turkey as the third most important source country for Schengen visa applications.

Growing numbers of visa applications were also lodged in Morocco (660 000, +7.8%), Saudi Arabia (360 000, +7.6%), Thailand (330 000, +9.3%) and Iran (270 000, +3.3%).

The percentage of applications that were refused varied widely and ranged from less than 2% (Belarus, Indonesia and Russia) to more than 35% (Algeria, Central African Republic, Comoros, DR Congo, Eritrea, Ghana, Guinea, Haiti, Iraq, Nigeria and Senegal). Worldwide, 9.6% of all visa applications were refused, 1.4 percentage points more than in 2017.

58% of visas issued in 2018 allowed for multiple entries into the Schengen area, a similar figure as 2017.

In addition to the 14.3 million visas issued at consulates, in 2018 the Schengen States also issued 66 000 uniform visas at the external borders.

Both of them deserve the axe. Who knows, maybe thats why the lady is not coming forward.
I donot wholely agree with your assumption.I personally know of lecturers chasing my friend during University days because she is busty. One of them finally pressurized the girl So much because he became her supervisor in the final year and she had to compromise. The sad part was she was a virgin who never had a boyfriend.
These things happens in secondary schools where teachers see themselves as the Alpha and Omega to students destiny ,the abuse of the female folk must stop.

bhlesingglory:
Good pm Nairalanders,
My friends and I were in an argument about the issue of abortion. Some were of the opinion that it should be legalized while some were against it.
Personally, I think we all should look beyond the religious views on this and so be factual about it. In Nigeria, abortion is illegal but it hasn't stopped ladies from getting their pregnancy aborted, that so, from quacks. This, most times leads to several complications and even death.

So Nairalanders, i want to know your takes on this issue.
The Silent Scream Complete Version - Abortion as Infanticide
Dr. Bernard Nathanson's classic video that shocked the world. He explains the procedure of a suction abortion, followed by an actual first trimester abortion as seen through ultrasound. The viewer can see the child's pathetic attempts to escape the suction curette as her heart rate doubles, and a "silent scream" as her body is torn apart. A great tool to help people see why abortion is murder. The most important video on abortion ever made. This video changed opinion on abortion to many people.

Introduction by Dr. Bernard Nathanson, host. Describes the technology of ultrasound and how, for the first time ever, we can actually see inside the womb. Dr. Nathanson further describes the ultrasound technique and shows examples of babies in the womb. Three-dimensional depiction of the developing fetus, from 4 weeks through 28 weeks. Display and usage of the abortionists' tools, plus video of an abortionist performing a suction abortion. Dr. Nathanson discusses the abortionist who agreed to allow this abortion to be filmed with ultrasound. The abortionist was quite skilled, having performed more than 10,000 abortions.

We discover that the resulting ultrasound of his abortion so appalled him that he never again performed another abortion. The clip begins with an ultrasound of the fetus (girl) who is about to be aborted. The girl is moving in the womb; displays a heartbeat of 140 per minute; and is at times sucking her thumb. As the abortionist's suction tip begins to invade the womb, the child rears and moves violently in an attempt to avoid the instrument.
Her mouth is visibly open in a "silent scream." The child's heart rate speeds up dramatically (to 200 beats per minute) as she senses aggression. She moves violently away in a pathetic attempt to escape the instrument. The abortionist's suction tip begins to rip the baby's limbs from its body, ultimately leaving only her head in the uterus (too large to be pulled from the uterus in one piece). The abortionist attempts to crush her head with his forceps, allowing it to be removed. In an effort to "dehumanize" the procedure, the abortionist and anesthesiologist refer to the baby's head as "number 1." The abortionist crushes "number 1" with the forceps and removes it from the uterus.

Abortion statistics are revealed, as well as who benefits from the enormously lucrative industry that has developed. Clinics are now franchised, and there is ample evidence that many are controlled by organized crime. Women are victims, too. They haven't been told about the true nature of the unborn child or the facts about abortion procedures. Their wombs have been perforated, infected, destroyed, and sterilized. All as a result of an operation about which they they have had no true knowledge.

Films like this must be made part of "informed consent." NARAL (National Abortion Rights Action League) and Planned Parenthood are accused of a conspiracy of silence, of keeping women in the dark about the reality of abortion. Finally, Dr. Nathanson discusses his credentials. He is a former abortionist, having been the director of the largest clinic in the Western world.

I tell you most solemnly like I have always said, women and ladies body especially boobs and bums look nice and enticing only when they are under clothings.

When you see most breast outside bra you'd weep.

When you see most buttocks unclothed you will understand why most women are insecured. Their body is over hyped such that you'd be wondering whether u were blindfolded.

I don't want to talk about the ones with stretch marks.

I guess many guys have never sighted a bleeding poocy. (menstrual flow).

Many have no sighted ovulating poocy.

You'd most likely choose to be celibate after seeing a sick poocy.
When u sight an old poocy you'd appreciate God more for making you a man.

I keep wondering why anyone in his right mind should ever pay for sex. If any one must pay for sex then that should be ladies.

Well there are fools everywhere
Wao how can you describe women like that im sure you never fall from heaven.A poocy brought you to the world and a booby nourished you to maturity .Have respect for women because without women the human race will go into extinction.
You have no respect for women in your family haba.

The movie Black Panther is breaking massive records at the box office. The black community feels that they are finally represented. But is there more at play? Why all of the sudden now does Hollywood want to promote black strength? Most of us aren't asking these questions. Black Panther is a movie serving witchcraft and the occult to the black community as being normal. Most of us don't realize it because we"re so caught up with our blackness, we put it before our God. Our blackness is an idol and it prevents us from seeing things clearly.Do you agree with the video?
