Hi, good morning. Can you send me an email? I would share a contact with you.

I just did, thanks

damidam:
Thank you very much. I already called a man this afternoon and he explained that the e-transcript is no longer available too. I will just pay the 31k. Thanks again

Hello, have you been able to pay for the Wes evaluation? I have paid but I am having issues with funaab website, I can't find where to add my Wes reference number on the funaab transcript portal, can you tell me how you did yours?

bastien:

Nice, that was my first choice, changed my mind because Honda don't have good resell value ( I don't plan to use the car for long)

bastien:
how much please, toks? I'm. Planning on getting a car, first timer. Thanks

I got it 2.4m, previous owner used it for just 3months, he didn't even register it yet. I think toks sell for 2.8m - 3.4m

False, I have a girlfriend of 3years now and I work full time 40hrs per week, it also depends on your girlfriend, if she craves for too much attention then that's where the problem start.

FastApi (Python)
Typescript
Nuxtjs
Rust, Flutter ( if there is time, if not vision 2022)

I'm doing pretty fine as a PHP developer but next year I want to slowly diversify into Python, why? I want to follow the trend and not be left out in the dark. PHP is still going strong, thanks to laravel but then I need to try something I know will still last 5-10 years to come. If I am going to advice a beginner, I will say learn python instead of PHP, You won't regret this decision in 2-3 years time. If it's quick money you are looking for then Learn Core of WordPress (Plugin development, theme).

If you want non accidented and non salvaged, up your budget. You can't eat your cake and have it.
You may be able to get a high mileage 2006 is250 with your budget.

Or better still get a fair mileage clean title lexus es330 with that budget.

thanks, finally got a gs300 from a nairalander

HeavenlyBang:
Sorry, I tend to favor buying my cars from the US instead of locally.

Cc: Chukel
I think you had a GS for sale a while ago.

oh okay, thank you

HeavenlyBang:
Budget too low for something you'd enjoy. Raise to 3m and you have a much better pool to pick from.

At 3m, you can get

- GS300
- IS250
- 07/08 Infiniti G35
- Avalon

However, I'm pretty sure you can get an early E90 328i for just over 2m these days. Great cars, albeit with some eccentricities.

Hi, I have a budget of 2.8 - 3m and really interested in gs300 or is250 but I can't seem to find a "good" car, the ones I am seeing are accidented/salvage ( after Vin check) Do you have any recommendations where I can find a clean title gs300 or is250? Thanks

Hello guys, I need a generator my budget is 70k - 90k, please what brand will you recommend and where can I get it ( original).

Hello guys, I just stumbled on this thread, I have been reading and I have some questions, I studied animal production and health services but I don't any work experience in this field ( I'm actually a software developer). On the job list I found "meat inspector" (which I feel is closely related to my course of study) for visa category 190, 491. Is there any possibility I get a positive skill assessment from VETASSESS even without work experience?

Buliwyf:
Lol. It's very clear that you haven't worked in any corporate environment before and don't know what office politics is. You are probably one of those guys that read a book on programming did some few small projects for some people and started feeling fly. You probably cannot build a fully functional distributed system on your own or provision networking components remotely which are the things I worked on before even leaving Nigeria.

One of the open source projects I am being paid for right now is run by a senior software solutions architect at a very famous multinational in Germany. The only reason I got the job is because of my education and skills and because he finished his masters from my school 2 years ago. And this guy was already a highly skilled Eclipse framework developer with years of skills and commitment under his belt. If you had had to develop on Eclipse there's no way you won't have heard of the guy. When I asked him why he felt the need to complete a master degree in my school, considering what I already know about him, he told me he needed it to further his career. Lol. That's a German citizen in Germany with years of experience. There are a few in my other departments in my school working and doing their masters too. They are all also IT guys.

To give another example, I have built and commited to the Flutter SDK repository a few times. One of the guys that actually started the Flutter community was on Twitter begging for jobs a few weeks ago. This is a guy with years of experience and commits under his name. He still couldn't get someone to hire him. So he had to cry out. That's because he was still a mobile developer while most of his mates had transitioned into management by studying and certificates mostly MBAs.

Certificates are one of the first things they will look out for in your CV. It shows commitment and time investment. It helps you get your foot in the door for interviews and demonstrates that at least you are likely to have some of the skills you claim to have. In IT today AWS certification counts a lot. People pay money to have it. If it's as unimportant as you claim then it won't be so popular. Portfolios are also good. But nobody has argued against having portfolios here. I have one too. I am talking about long term career mobility.

I usually don't comment on German study threads and I probably won't comment again for a long while but something brought me here and I feel someone needs to hear this.

Probably going to be my last comment on this topic

Buliwyf:
Lol. It's very clear that you haven't worked in any corporate environment before and don't know what office politics is.

Wrong, graduated last year ( studied an Agriculture course) just before I finished, I got a job in a fintech company in lekki, after all the technical questions, asking about my experience and projects I have worked on, they asked about my course of study, they laughed when I told them, there were people that studied computer science that came for the interview but they picked me why ? Because they knew for sure I would get the job done. I left the job last November, after I got a remote job in Germany and moved to ibadan.

Buliwyf:
The only reason I got the job is because of my education and skills and because he finished his masters from my school 2 years ago.

The "more" reason you got the job is because you were favoured, you said he finished masters from your school, of course there will be some favourism, you didn't get the job because of your certificate but because you finished from same school.

Buliwyf:

Him begging for job doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't have offers, he might not just like the offers he is getting, if that's not the case then it means he is still not good enough, contributing to open source project or having commits under your name doesn't automatically make you good.

Buliwyf:
Certificates are one of the first things they will look out for in your CV

Certificates are plus, but if you ask me it should be one of the last thing to be looked at, it should be like "oh he also studied blabla or has Msc in blablabla"

Certificates are good, but if you are a software developer, you should focus more on improving yourself than getting certificates, I'm only saying this because some people might think once they have certificates they are fine, Wrong, the only people who will be wow'ed by your certificates are those that are not into IT, they can't ask you coding questions or measure the impact you made on projects so when you show them certificates they are happy. One of my friend got a Job in Germany, housing and everything was already sorted but he got denied visa , why ? Consular asked for certificate. So if you want to wow "people" or you want to make yourself bigger than you are to "people" ( branding) have certificates. One thing is having certificate another thing is knowing how to do the job. Even if you happen to get the job with your certificates can you do the job ? That's another question.

I forgot to add, early last year while I was waiting to graduate, I did a final year project for someone that studied Computer Science & Information Systems in Norwich University. At first he told me it was his assignment and he can't do it because of work, it was later he told me it was his project, I wrote all the chapters of the project and built the web application. He couldn't build a CRM application but he has a certificate. (According to him he is a first class student, not sure what it's called there). Till today he still sends me code to help him fix.

Buliwyf:
I am just laughing at you here. Dude I had 5 years experience before I left Nigeria. So compared to me you probably don't even know what you are talking about when it comes to knowing the importance of having skills in IT or otherwise. Believe you me.

The story you shared about Fast.ai deals with someone who went for PhD. Who doesn't know that getting a PhD is just a form of apprenticeship for a life in research and academia? But I bet the person wasn't making the same arguments about masters. If you want to work in industry you probably don't need a PhD. So she was just regretting that earlier career choice.

The beauty of having an education especially at masters level in a system that works like most Western democracies are not just the education or the certificates. Also consider the sort of networking opportunities it opens you up to. Some of the people you meet in an educational environment today will be a big payoff tomorrow. Those guys will be tomorrow's managers and politicians in those countries. These are the sort of networking money can't buy. The sort of connection people click randomly on LinkedIn to have.

Some companies have even blossomed from school work projects and friendships. Some of the projects you work on in school will become career-makers. These are just the facts.

See I will stop here. But he that hath ear must have heard.

In the end, every man will still do what pleases him. May fortune smile on us all.

like I said before if you believe you need certificate to "boost" yourself it means you are not good enough. Good software engineers show projects and experience not certificate, if I own a company I will be more interested in your skills not the certificates you have, any company that's wow'ed by your certificate is a "baby company" big companies are more interested in your skills. I'm not saying certificate won't get you job but when you place someone that has certificates with another person who is a dropout but has portfolios, the dropout wins any day any time, go on twitter and see what dropouts are building.

I see my question is causing chaos, I'm also strongly against applying for study visa and dropping out, but to the guy that said you need certificate in IT world, I don't think you are into IT, If you are, you will know that certificate means nothing, what matters is what you can do, if without a certificate you can't get a good job, it means you are not just good enough.

Hello guys, apart from study visa what other visa can i use to get to germany ? ( i'm not interested in going back to school ), i'm a software developer and currently work remotely for an organization in germany.
