Once you have your blue card, then your wife should apply for family reunion, she will get it within 2 months. Get to Germany first and get your Blue Card ASAP. Then when you have it, then she should apply for family reunion, a week after the application follow up with emails, they would hurry it up.

Hi, I got an email from you, I guess you what to ask about the checklist. The checklist you have is all you need. Make sure you make two photocopies of each document ( Including your employment contract letter and resume ). If there are additional letters sent by your company, include them and also make two copies, also if your degree isn't tech related, you can add any certification you have that is related to tech, This is not compulsory but my interviewer asked me what my university degree ( Agric ) as to do with blue card and I had to show a tech related certification I got some months back.

But i Think an option to make family relocation faster when you get Germany is to let your HR write a letter of invitation for your wife on your behalf. I am not so sure were to send, I think directly to the embassy or employers office, I have read it on the thread that it significantly reduced the time of processing

1. No you can't apply for pre-approval when you get to Germany. The pre-approval is meant to facilitate your easy access into Germany and if you are there already, then you don't need the pre-approval again technically.
2. I've not experienced that before, that's really strange. I went through the same process and got a pre-approval in addition to qualifying for a blue card.
3. I think the law states that the company has to apply on your behalf but I've read here that some people applied by themselves, maybe something changed and they can point you in the right direction with regards to this.
4. I don't think that would be easy or possible, they would have your wife's record on file and might not grant her the visit visa, someone also mentioned this on this thread sometimes back, can't find the particular page.

Other contributions from other people who did the pre-approval process recently will be nice.

I have a couple of questions, I will really appreciate if it is answered.

My company applied for pre-approval some weeks back but we got a letter from Federal Employment Agency that I don't need pre-approval because I qualify for Blue card. I went on to apply for blue card appointment and I did my interview two weeks ago. Now the problem is I can't get an appointment date for my wife because I applied to blue card and not via the skilled immigration act category. I urged my Employer to try to apply for pre-approval for me once again on the basis that my wife needs it to get a faster appointment date but they are a bit reluctant to do that, They advised I get to Germany first and try to reapply for pre-approval. Now my questions:-

1) is it possible to apply again for pre-approval when I get to Germany ?
2) Is there anyone who has experienced this problem ( Pre-approval denied because of blue card qualification ) and was still able to get a faster appointment date for their spouse?
3) Is it possible to apply again for pre-approval by myself ?
4) I have booked a family reunion appointment for my wife, it takes a year as we know. Is it possible to get her a visit visa while awaiting an appointment date for family reunion ? If yes how long does it take to get an appointment for visit visa ?

If you have the pre-approval, it shouldn’t take more than 6 week max. For me, after receiving feedback from Employment Agency (guess what, I applied for pre-approval myself), I booked appointment on the 5th of May, got an email with a date the next day for 12th May, and got the visa on the 18th of June.

Can you shed light on how you applied for pre-approval by yourself ?

Hi Everyone, I receive a lot of emails asking for Upwork guide, I try to reply as much as I can but really, there is nothing new for me to share that is not on this thread. If you are still not getting jobs then you are either not doing something right or you are not putting in enough effort to get a job. when I joined Upwork, I spend at least 3- 4 hours every day on upwork refreshing the job feeds. in fact, at a stage I had the thought to build a bot that sends me email notification once someone posts a job that has keywords I am interested in. That was how intentional I was about getting jobs then. Now, I get at least 8 - 10 job invites every month and I can't even remember the last time I applied to any job. I have even turned off my profile because I can't take new jobs. Long and short of this epistle is that you need to put more effort than the average freelancer.

you may see a simple job of 10$ that was posted 10mins later with over 50+ proposals...

If you are really good, apply to hard jobs or jobs that the client asks a lot of questions, This kind of jobs doesn’t usually have many proposals, At the most they have 5-10 proposals. These are the jobs I apply to and i get them all.

Your profile is nice but maybe better to reduce your hourly rate to $15 or $10 for now (you can increase it later). Also you said you have 5years plus experience but you only added two newbie portfolios , please add at least 4 solid portfolio.

If you have pre-approval, book two appointments under skilled immigration act for you and your wife. You should be able to travel together at the same time with your wife. Booking under the skilled immigration act would still get you your blue card visa since you are qualified. Good luck.

I am hoping to get my preapproval this coming week, but I am confused about what visa I should apply for myself and my wife. Should I apply for skilled immigration act visa with my pre-approval or blue card visa ? ( I qualify for it ). What visa will I apply for my wife? family reunion? or skilled migration act? I learnt that if a spouse qualifies for a blue card, then there won't be a need to write the Germany A1 exam or do lawyer verification. Does this mean that if I don't apply for blue card visa, she will need to write A1 exam and do lawyer verification?

If you don't want her to wait for a year. I would advise you get married and also try to get your employer to help you get the documents for pre-approval (under the skilled immigration act) that way you can book an appointment for her at the same time as yours. Some recent changes to the EU blue card even allows family reunification at the same time as the blue card applicant but I am not sure if the changes are in place yet. Hi everyone, I have tried to search back on this thread but I don’t see clear answers, I got a job in germany and I will start visa processing soon, someone suggested i apply for eu blue card visa ( since my job meets all the requirements). now to the problem, I will like to go with my girlfriend as I can’t wait a year for family reunion. What’s the best way to go about this ? Should we go on to do court marriage or can we go together without getting married? will adding her to my visa process delay the application? my new job wants me to resume on the 1st of august, so I have to be in germany by latest by july.

My Joy know no bound when I stumble on this thread.

I just joined the Upwork Family this March and I have submitted around 8-9 proposals already with 3 clients already in my message box discussing how best I can fit for their project.

Now, a lady (a new freelancer too) messaged me that she got blocked on Upwork. She has already gotten an offer and she has started working.

I asked her what could be wrong and she said the Means of Identification she used was rejected. At First, she used National ID Card which she said was rejected, then she used Voter’s Card and then it was also rejected. Then she got the message that she has been permanently blocked on Upwork.

Now my questions are these;

1. What exact means of ID can one use on Upwork that won’t pose any issue and get one’s account blocked.

2. Is it after one’s got an offer that Upwork request for verification of those ID?

3. What is the implication of not verifying if what you are having is only National ID card and Voter’s Card and they are not accepting that?

Please Gurus in the house, help me answer this questions cos I am really scared now that I am getting invites form clients and I am hoping I will be getting an offer soon.

1) International passport, driving license. Some people have also gotten their account verified with nimc, I think this depends on the upwork empoyee that reviews your application

2) In most cases yes

3) Implication is that your account get suspended, you won’t be able to apply to jobs and your current contracts might be put on hold.

A friend of mine has DOB issues, when she verified her account her ID was reading 1992 while her real age is 1994, but she has now updated her age using declaration of age by the court.

Now she is worried if upwork asks her to reverify there won't be an issue. She contacted support and this is what they said.

Please know that there's no impact on her Upwork profile if her DOB is incorrectly recorded on her ID. What we are concerned about is if it's fake or not or if it's someone else's ID.

We also do not process reverification of account especially if the account is already verified. I do not think changing the information on your DOB from your Upwork profile is needed when you register for voters card.

What I mean by review is checking people's profile to be sure they have it properly set up.

Do you guys think it is okay to have a separate thread for reviewing people's Upwork profiles and give recommendations ? or should we just use this thread for that?

Change enviroment to where light dey constant. In every state they have areas where they enjoy at least 15 hours light a day. Do the needfull ASAP.

This is what I do but sometimes you change to a location that has history of good light and on getting there, The light stops being as good as every one as described. This has happened to me twice.
