I did not see the match. From your write up you are expecting too much from fellaini. In his mind all he needs to do to believe he has played well and contributed his quota is to not lose the ball and that means plenty of simple passes to the nearest player even if non of the passes are forward passes not to talk of initiating and attack or doing an incisive defense splitting pass to put a striker through on goal.

In fellaini's case I can't even say "you can't give what you don't have" because I have seen fellaini torment US when he was in everton. I guess the roll he plays now maybe hampering him from performing that way.

The midfield is without Rooney and Fellaini. It's only natural we responded after the many loses. The last game helped to prepare us for this.

Rooney and fellaini are exactly the people that we don't need in our midfield. I had always thought fellaini was not a Man United type but was impressed with him in the few games he had played for us but still you got to admit that those of us who have criticized Rooney were not witch hunting him.
