Isn't it strange that one mans' best defender is another mans' worst defender. Peeps on this forum have continually said Vida is better than Rio now you claim Rio is better. Its a case of difference in opinion.

You should be worried about Rafa's Rampaging Liverfools tongue

@ Eastbay

Sometimes when you talk its as if the other team should not even kick the ball because they are playing UNITED. Cool down, we now have our work cut out and must prove ourselves, instead of whinning about what we said ealier in the season being right.

When Ronaldo who i didn't think played well scored two goals against villa, you didn't say this, now he did not score yesterday his body language is wack would you also say the same about the rest of our players? Cut the the guy some slack, am sure he wants to win this like every other player would like to (first to win UCL back 2 back).

The team was shambolic, but we have the second leg to play and i tell you, its UNITED, Everything can hoppen

Cool Down.

Dunno WTF is happening, truth is, if we had won that game it would have been the normal de ja vu of not playing well but nicking the point which would have been ok, but this shambolic play is becoming too consistent, thats where my worry is.

Was it UNITED playing yesterday or some team in the lower division, there were so many elementary mistakes that at a time i was so pissed off by the team.

Scholes kept on giving the ball away as if he was scared of passing the ball correctly,
I could see some players running their socks off, but with no end result, it was really sorry site.

The team is not even playing in such a way for us to say they will do better in the next game. this is really annoying.

Anyways, i'll stick with ma team no matter what cool Like Eastbay says stanger have happened, thats the hope.

Who says UNITED cant up theante in the second leg.

GO UNITED

Usain Bolt is a DOLT grin

He even contradicted himself, after saying Ronaldo falls over all the time, he goes to acknowledge his twisted observation that Ronaldo's running style is bad for his balance.

If he thinks someone style of running is bad for the persons balance, then he should know that that person would be susceptible to falling a lot of times.

Dont even know about what he means by 'Ronaldo leans forward when running'

He musta started smoking something other than jamaican ganja. grin

Ibime is the all knowing and all seeing Homosapien, he can tell when anybody in NL is lying about supporting any club.

i dont blame you, if you said you started supporting Chelsea in 1996, i'll also say YOU ARE A FRIGGING UNREPENTANT LIAR grin grin. You started supporting Chelsea 2005 because of Mumurinho. tongue

Some of us have a bias for the English and have been follwing the EPL as far back as the early 90's, even if na through radio, during the time of allan shearer and chris sutton combo. There are many different reasons why people support diff clubs and at the time they started supporting the team. Most people started supporting teams that had a Nigerian playing for the club. Whoever knew Ajax or even Everton, was it not because of kanu, Finidi and Omokachi and the successes they achieved while playing for those clubs.

If the epl was not so popular in the early 90's or the chaps you played games with did not know any EPL teams to support does not mean nobody knew nothing about the EPL.

Vidic had a bad day at Anfield earlier in the season too and got sent-off, remember? Doesn't it seem strange to you that he saved his two bad days this season against the same team? Or is it possible that Rafa knows how to unsettle him? Tactics my friend. This is not Pro Evo Soccer. Also use facts, not smileys.
Exactly ma point, they Liverpool need a player sent off be4 they can do damage to UNITED.

Is that the tactics or a coincidence?

Or are you saying Rafa's tactics was to tell the ref to give Vidic a red.

1, First goal, vidic made a school boy error, it led to a goal.

2, Vidic pulled Gerrards shirt, the ref saw it as a red card offence which he punished.
Are you saying these are Rafa's tactics??

Arsène Wenger said that Liverpool's win over Manchester United "flattered" Rafael Benitez's side and that United were still favourites to win the league."For big spells in the game, Manchester United dominated but they made mistakes on the day that usually they don't do. Some players looked a bit mentally tired. It opens up the race for the title, even though I still believe Manchester United are in a strong position with the game in hand."

A 4-1 defeat is just goood for bragging rights and for News head lines

Bayern lost 5-2 to Bremen in September but now Bayern is 2nd and Bremen is 10th in the league.

In 2000 CL Bayern beat real Madrid 8-3 aggregates but on that fateful night at the Parc de Prince Madrid lifted the trophy while Bayern were watching from home.

If I give anyone the option of being tops and losing a game 70-1 I am sure most clubs would take it. except Gayyners

@ Eastbay

I know the loss hurts but lets look at it this way!

We lost a battle, the war is still there to be won, and we still have an advantage.

Take a look at the table. we lost 4-1 to liverpool and are still top with 4points and a game in hand to win.

Yes our pride has been dented, especially because its liverpool and it was at OT, but we need to redeem it by winning the war.

Ask Arsenal and man city what it feels like to see a team you beat home and away lift the trophy at the end of the season. tongue tongue grin

Chelski, Liverpool and Arsenal would give anything to be where we are at this stage. grin grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by codedguy1(m): 1:22pm On Mar 16, 2009
It showed even in the game against Newcastle, Obafemi was kinda unlucky not to have scored in that game.

@ Eastbay

You ask, where do we go from here, take it easy, it was a bad pill to swallow, but we can only use this to reasses what our games have been like lately. its a rude awakening and the next game is very important for us, if Fulham think they can beat us because of what liverpool did, then we need to send a clear message again that we ain't ready to let top spot go just because of one awful day at work.

At this stage, 4points lead aint bad, we really need to make the outstanding game count. UNITED usually know how to react after a loss, i believe thats whats gonna here.

One UNITED

You should remember UNITED always comes out of a defeat with a string of victories, please count the victories from the lose to Arsenal and tell me if the league is not wrapped up.

Everyone in the top 5 will certainly still drop points. UNITED having a 4points lead with a game in hand is the position i'd rather be.

A draw is a useful result in the context of a league - you get a point from it and don't worsen your goal difference.

In a KNOCK OUT tie, winning is everything.

@ kay

the draw will be held next Friday in France.
Of course a draw is useful in a league format, but becomes detrimental to your cause when its too frequent, 2 points are always dropped.

Because a draw can be usefull doesn't mean thats what a team should thrive on.
