Why will moderator move this post to FP. PO was talking about China and India in that speech, not even Nigeria let alone Anambra or himself. It is we Nigerians that like Leaders that manipulate us, the person that posted this and the moderator that moved it to FP would have used their time to re-verify as the video of the event is online. Nairaland is becoming tribal and partizan and I don't think it will do good to the owner. |
This is unbecoming of a Presidential aspirant that wants to lead a multi ethnic nation like Nigeria. When a fulani wants to ascend to Power he calls North as a block, but when it is time to share the dividends , he remembers that he is only a Fulani and awards positions to only Fulani. The Hausas, Nupes , Bwari , Kanuris etc should take their own stand, there is nothing like North. It is only a manipulative vice used by Fulanis to keep their hold on Power. It is almost 8years now with Buhari, ask yourself what you have gained as a Northerner. |
How is she a Nigerian woman? Someone born and bred in the states suddenly becomes a Nigerian woman because it is crime. If she is not American citizen, they would not have looked the other way in the case of arson and robbery in the years past, some she claimed responsibility. She is an American with Nigerian root, not a Nigerian woman as reported |
ntrukpum:No, I do not say you should resign, instead, I want you to innovate in your role, if you are teaching Engineering related subject(s), look for something else (value proposition) to add that will bring more value to the school, e.g. - Build a sports team in any area you have passion for, - Start a Jet club or Science club for the school - Start a debate society/Club in the school Add something that will differentiate you from every other teacher , then keep doing that for a term or more, once the value is felt by the school, then approach the school for an upward salary review, you could even cite that another school has made you a higher offer. Please note that this strategy will only work if you are deemed as a valuable staffer/teacher, if the school is just managing you and you try this strategy, they will thankfully dis-engage your service. |
Unveiling of APC VP Candidate!!!!!!! The wasteful economy continues, before even getting elected, you could see the mentality of APC party in hosting and spending extravagantly on an unveiling party for a vice presidential candidate already officially known to the world many weeks now. What is the meaning of unveiling according to merriam-webster dictionary? Definition of unveil transitive verb. 1 : to remove a veil or covering from. 2 : to make public : divulge, reveal a good time to unveil their plans. We cannot continue this waste as a country, after announcing to the world who the APC VP candidate is weeks back, APC is hosting an expensive event to still unveil what has been made public, who did this to Nigeria my country? LP and PDP announced their candidate without fanfare and un-necessary waste, most of the fund that will be wasted on this event today are monies stolen from our collective purse. This is a testament of what to expect if APC rig the party into Presidency in 2023 ! God Forbid that happens. |
Labour should be on the guard the type of individuals they admit into the party. Let it not end like APC |
Eniitankorede:Sir, assuming your assertion is right, what has the APC government done in the last 7years to over-turn it or improve on what was met? Are we still playing blame game on the end of a second tenure? Can we be truthful to ourself for once? Are you enjoying this country the way it is? We voted APC in 2015 (I personally campaigned for Buhari/APC thinking he has something to offer the country since he has contested multiple times ) because Nigerians needed a new positive path in governance, what has APC done on their own for these 7+ years, blaming and complaining of the activities of the past. I told all that I know campaigning for Tinubu that they are not being fair to Nigerians, Tinubu's finest men has been in power since 2015, from Babatunde Fashola, Babatunde Fowler, Rauf Aregbosola, Ben Akabueze, Yemi Osibanjo etc, all these men have performed woefully in their different ministries and agencies. The pattern I see in APC is not accepting responsibility which is another hallmark of bad leadership, APC like the political portfolio/office without its attendant responsibility. |
Those that are hyping on Tinubu's performance are those that did not live in Lagos during his tenure. Lagos as a state missed an opportunity of a fine administrator in the person of Funsho Williams , who performed very well as a commissioner under the military. With Lagos location and natural endowments, IGR and FGN allocation, any average administrator would always perform better than Sen. Tinubu's tenure. |
Officialgarri:Not sure you listened to his interview, being frank with you, if the excesses in the cost of governance is curtailed, we could have 30 - 40% of enough money to increase workers pay and remove the fuel subsidy. Who said real business men or investors could not be given license to establish modular refineries and refine these products within Nigeria, does it take 4 years to do that. The issue we have with our leaders are sincerity of purpose, if the present crop of leaders want to give license for modular refineries, instead of giving it to the people that will create value with it, they will never do that instead they will share it with their cronies and also give them some grants from our common wealth to take off knowing fully well that none of them will build. The issue that is worrisome for the masses is that while the Government shares that we are in hard times, it does not reflect in any expenditure that is related to our leaders. Do you know how much we as a country could save if all Presidents and State Governors take that path of Peter Obi to forfeit Gratuity and Pensions or at best take same rate on pension and gratuity as the highest grade in Civil service. We the masses are angry because our leaders ask us to tighten our belt for the hard-times but keep expending our common fund on frivolities. |
ntrukpum:Private Businesses are not run by emotions and sentiments. Because you were earning 30k with the other guy who has moved to a new pay grade does not mean you will be paid same. It is only in Nigeria civil service that FGN or State employer pay you based on certificate or age in service, for an entrepreneur , it is all about value you bring to the table. You shared that the person now earning 45k though he studied Engineering teaches Music and Physic which is a solid combination and value-mix in a single teacher. Have you tried to carve a niche for yourself or improve yourself by adding value in other field that will enhance the school productivity. It is all about value and if you want to check how valuable you are , tender your resignation and see if the school will call you back for negotiation. When I worked in Nigeria as a Telecom Engineer, I tendered my resignation and was called back to re-negotiate my salary and other benefits, not only did they match the other company pay, I was given the opportunity to lead global projects that allowed me travel to 3 continents. LET START THINKING ABOUT VALUE WE BRING |
GardenOfGod:We should be given data to make the right judgement if LAGOS is flourishing as perceived. I created a topic on this politics section which I do not know why the moderators has not published it. We need to start comparing oranges with oranges and apples with apples. Below is my topic YOUTH, LETS ASK THESE LEADERS HOW THEY HAVE PERFORMED DURING THEIR PAST ASSIGNMENTS I have been following Nigeria political landscape in the recent months and could not fault majority of youths glimpse of hope when the message of some of the contestant resonated with what we want and pushed many of us to queue to get Voters card to be eligible to vote in our great country with innate potentials, wickedly bottled up by bad governance. I said our youths should be asking the right questions, lets start going through the time these men were in public or private service, how did they handle our common wealth instead of our tribal and religious sentimentalization which has done non of us any good but has only favored only the ruling elites. Even up to our current state governors , we need to start holding them accountable for all the debts they are accruing for us and our yet un-born children to inherit. All reasonable Nigerians should ask the Debt Management Office Nigeria to update their portal with State and federal debts from 1998 till date, currently we have Domestic debt stocks for state from 2011 which might not give us enough data to probe the efficient use of resources by these Presidential standard bearers. Nigerian youths , we must be ready to compare apple for apple and Orange for Orange. If we have two persons working for the same company but posted to different branches with each branch paid according to the prevalent economic conditions in the location, if Mr. A earns 500, 000 Naira/month for the same job that Mr.B earns 220,000/month because of the location he resides, then after 4 or 8 years when stock is taken, Mr. A has acquired a 2013 Tokunbo Camry worth 6.5m , out of this money , he borrowed 5m from his bank to purchase the car and contributed 1.5m of his own savings. Then Mr. B after same time bought a 2004 Tokunbo corolla for 2.4m , out of this amount , he borrowed 500, 000 from his bank and contributed 1.9m of his savings to the purchase of his car. To the person evaluating both performers from the outside, Mr.A will seem like the greater performer, but with all the available data and economics, Mr.B is the greater manager of his financial and everyone that values returns will go with Mr. B. I used this illustration to depict what most of us should be looking at, because a Governor is building that big convention center or infrastructure does not mean he is performing, it is only when he is building it at the best available cost and with minimal borrowing that we will say he has the interest of the masses at heart. Most of the gigantic projects our politicians engage on are just means of siphoning our common fund and those they borrowed on our behalf. If a President or Governor borrows 100billion to do a project that if transparently and competitively done could have taken 41billion Naira, though the project might be huge and satisfying but the citizens has been short-changed by 59billion Naira. The amount of money that consultancy and supervision private firms with little or no prior experience consume on most of these project leaves you wondering what the ministries and their staffers that should take care of that are doing. We need to get the debt profile that each contestant incurred during any office he/she participated in and ask the right basic questions In year XYZ, FGN/state external debt and domestic debt rose from X amount to Y amount under your administration, could you share with us what and what these funds were used for and the values the project are executed at, that way we could see who and who is prepared to make the desired change we seek as youths of a potential rich nation like Nigeria. WE CAN DO IT TOGETHER , LETS ALL START ASKING DMO Office to update their portal with the debt profile both Domestic and external from 1999 till date, with that we could start building the spirit of holding our leaders accountable for their excesses. DMO Website : https://www.dmo.gov.ng/ On the side; I wipe for my country Nigeria, in 2012 when I was in the country, a distant family member told me her husband traveled to United States with entourage of one of the northern state governors, how did that happen since he is not from or working for the state? because the lady is a close friend to the state first lady, this same state was owing workers salaries at that time but you could see how un-needful excesses are consuming funds that might have been borrowed or should be used in uplifting the living standards of the electorates or subjects in the state. LET US START ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS |
Is there anything wrong with wearing PJ to school when the school ask for ? Still trying to know what this topic is doing on the front page |

It is global PRIDE month and those people are doing anyhow around the world I am sure, they are showcasing their diversity and commemorating PRIDE in their vicinity I watched yesterday, some of them in the UK, walked the street naked wearing dog mask and some others stark naked. They say it is the new free world. God have mercy on us all |
This guy na my classmate for University. Very calm and quiet guy, he must have been very unlucky to have got entangled with this lady. If it is the Lucky I know at school, na very calm soul. This girl should move on as I am sure the guy has moved on. For her to still be dragging an ex of 12years for social media shows that she is still pained and missing that part of her experience. |
Have you accessed MATLAB, they have many tutorials on their website [https://uk.mathworks.com/support/search.html?fq[]=asset_type_name:video&page=1] that might benefit you. |
Great Nairaland Programming Family. I am looking for someone that is proficient in programing and whom could mentor me in the areas of Python, Java and C++.
