Dangote is not looking out for his personal interest but the interest of the north. Dangote as a company is a conglomerate owned by powerful Northerners. I think this is a northern agenda to enslave the entire South.
U are very intelligent.

SS with all its oil should have created a conglomerate to develop and defend their region instead of depending on FG that consists of people that hate them.

Please, let's understand each other clearly. I am not against the call for restructuring. I have listened to different people make the call and they all have varying opinions on the exact structure that we should transit to. What I want to see is a coordinated view on restructuring. Not the present call that is been pushed by various tribal/political interest. Should we restructure to regionalism or should we maintain the current 36 states structure? Should we adopt the 50 states recommendation of Jonathan's confab? Should we devolve more powers to the current state structure and reduce the power of the federal government? These and many more are the issues that I want the proponents of restructuring to clearly define instead of each person pushing different versions.

Again, people like me are sceptical of the interest of the proponents of restructuring because they often limit their argument to resource control. Which resources do they want to control? The resources deposited by God under the land and in the deep water? Did the resources get there by the hard work of any tribe or just by God's magnanimity? You can decide to be emotional about this but I will be pragmatic. Natural resources should be put to the benefit of all citizens of the country and not to a particular state or region. What is the productivity of these oil states apart from oil? Akwa Ibom collects the highest revenue among the states, what is her productivity apart from oil? Nothing! Why should Osun or Gombe be forced to be productive and Akwa Ibom is excused? We should encourage general productivity and not excuse others. What the proponents of resource control want is an unequal union where a region will be stupendously rich while the others are in abject poverty. That is unfair if you ask me.
Akwa ibom has fertile land and are also into fishery. Akwa ibom is a RICH state and its productivity which is mainly oil is meant for Akwa ibom alone.

Osun and gombe have no business with Akwa ibom's resources. Osun and gombe should work with their own resources.

Same way some people are born into rich families is the same way some countries are located in areas without resources.

Stop envying the SS. Focus on your region.

It doesn't where the governor, premier, mayor or whatever comes from. I just cannot support a return to the old system where we have to be sending delegation to Ibadan to lobby the regional government to come and repair or build a local secondary school in my home town in Ekiti. No way!
Each state will fend for themselves.

Stop claiming yoruba be proud of your northern origin.

Guy tribalism is the problem of Africa because this is the only continent with thousands of tribe. Everyone always want the better for only his tribe, which is bad. Is it not tribalism that is causing war in South Sudan right now, is it not tribalism that caused the Rwanda genocide? U complain as if Nigeria is the only country with this problem. U mentioned Ethiopia, do u know the Oromo tribe there, which is the largest tribe in Ethiopia are treated like second class citizen, just because people from lower tribe continue to run the affairs of the country for a long time. Stop behaving like a hypocrite, some people are involved in tribalism But they do not even know, just like u
Tribalism is not the problem.

Hatred and envy is one of the problems.

98% of the tribes in europe have their own countries.

Reference:
Restructuring simply means an evaluation of the present system with the aim of taking it apart and rebuilding it to work to the satisfaction of all its constituents. When an engine knocks, you take it apart, chznge the parts that have failed and the parts that have led to the failure and rebuild the engine with the aim of not only restoring it but jmproving performance. Is this too hard to understand. No one is suggesting any course of action and preempting any outcome because it is about the collective will of all peoples negotiated to a solution.

It is the basis of any kind of relationship whether marraige, family, business, employment, any relationship at all. When set goals are made it is easily to measure progress on a term basis. In America it is called the State of the Union and is evaluated on a yearly basis. That is a forum where all constituents meet to state their satisfaction with the nation and thrash out areas of friction and discord before they mushroom.

If you live in a union where you donot care what the other party feels or thinks how on earth do you want to succeed. If you take your wife for granted chances are high you will be poisoned, if you take your business partner for granted chances are high you will be kidnapped or murdered. If you take your fellow citizen for granted, chances are ripe for continual economic, political and social upheavals that will not allow prosperity to berth in that country.

It is a pity that people cannot see this in Nigeria, it is a tragedy that those who do choose to ignore it. Carry on.

On what basis was this present structure created, If not for a feeding bottle system for disbursing oyel money?

How has this structure paid off after 50 years, counting from 1966?

We must shed this tag name states; and wear the toga of Pan africanism!

Our aim should be about building progressive human societies with socio-economic well being; and we think this feeding bottle states should be collasped into larger regions of socio-culturally like minded people.

Rather than 6 Houses of Assembly and 6 governors all complete with their large retinue of PAs and aides and running costs of their offices......we have one Regional Governor and one slim House of Assembly with several automomous local governments bringing governace closer to the people

The issue is when a northern political elite hears restructuring they only see the oil and coastal lines of the south being out of their grip
The guy u're quoting is a northerner and they will do anything to prevent Nigeria from separating peacefully.

Brief on Ilaje Community

Ilaje is a sprawling slum located along the Bariga axis in Lagos, situated by the Lagoon. As you move closer to the settlement , you would immediately begin to see wooden houses constructed on that brackish water of Lagos lagoon. You would also notice an environment so dirty that you would think it’s not fit for anyone to reside. But then, people live here even happily. As you move into the community, you would begin to see both the young and old wander about, some aimlessly, and some with intentions, work or business as the case is.
Those are illegal settlements and they should be demolished and the people should be relocated to a better environment they can afford to live in.. Its not fit for anyone to be living there..

the only reason that place is still standing is because most Nigerians are sentimental...

[size=15pt]Its not about Yoruba muslims. I am a Yoruba Christian. I supported Buhari which was morally right judging by the way GEJ was treating Yorubas. Its common sense to vote out any administration that hate your tribe.

The change we are in affects all...we are all the cause of it one way or the other. Jonathan and Easterners brought a politics of tribalism, we Yorubas played in the game.

The same Yorubas who voted for GEJ for his first tenure without considering his tribe or religion turned their back on him when he started playing tribal war.

We are all responsible for the mess we are in. You are mocking Yoruba muslims for dry sallah. Christmas is few months away. Una go hear am.

PoliticsRe: Igbo Vs Delta-Igbo: What A Guy Posted On Facebook by codemaniacs: 8:14pm On Sep 15, 2016
Abagworo:
The Edo descendants found among Delta Igbos were escorts while the major migrants from Benin kingdom were Igbos. At the peak of Benin kingdom most tribes that inhabited the lower Niger migrated en mass to Benin for so many reasons including recruitment into Benin army as mercenary fighters. Odogwu was one of the most popular Igbo men of old that ventured into Benin as a soldier but later left back to Igboland after many victories. The ancient Benin had Yoruba, Igala, Igbo and Ijaw as parts of the population and at a stage during the reign of a man Igbos know as "Obu aru" that Benin was in turmoil in a war Igbos call "Agha Idu n'Oba" the non-Binis left Benin in droves heading back home and in the process establishing settlements on their way back. Most Delta Igbos are descendants of Igbos that left Benin Kingdom heading back to East while Ijaws equally did same. It is easily verifiable by pattern of settlement, language and basic culture. The migrants adopted Benin styled leadership structure and felt superior to their untraveled brothers that were still naive.

There are also some Felta Igbos that never reached Benin but were already settled before those from Benin came to meet them. They are those in Aniocha and Oshimili whom some Benin returnees settled among establishing Benin like micro kingdoms.
Igbos have nothing to do with bini.. Igbos were across the Niger living in their own kingdoms..

there is nothing like Edo descendants, Edo was created in 1991.. the word "Edo" started in 1991.. they are Binis..

90% of Ijawland was part of Western Nigeria before Gowon decided to cause division..

Slave trade happened everywhere even in YORUBA LAND, thats why you have yorubas in togo.
Your tribalistic mindset is entering into an emergency stage.
Which one is Igbon?
Hahahahaha. How did Igbon relate here?
Igbo is from NDI GBOO which means Ancient People.. It reflects in our name, Igbokwe- Ndi Gboo kwe,
2. UmuIgbo - Umu Ndi Gboo.
3. Amaigbo- Ama Ndi Gboo etc.
4. Even in Delta we have Igbuzor(ibusa by white men)- Ndi Gboo bi na uzo
Etc. Quit tribalism, it will do you good.
slave trade has nothing to do with Yorubas been in Togo... Oyo empire extended deep into some parts of Ghana.. Colonialists created the countries and separated villages..
