First are you Nigerian? If so what religion do you practice or profess?

Black Africans can't do better than what they are, they just can't.

Another FACT.

Black South Africans got their freedom in 1990 and are the richest Blacks on the Continent today.

Nigeria got independence in 1960 and is the Poverty Capital of the World.

Oga think about this matter. E get why.

Good Luck to Nigeria.
It is western influence that devalues the naira which spoilt the purchasing power of every Nigerian and causes Nigeria to struggle.

you don't understand their hatred for black people globally especially those in Africa..

india annual budget is ₹48 trillion which is equal to $560 billion ( with a population over 1.4billion people

while Nigeria annual budget is ₦49 trillion which is equal to $30 billion ( with a population of 200million people )..

the point is Western powers claim Nigeria's population is the reason for ₦ Naira's bad currency conversion to the dollar..

but India with a population 7 seven times Nigeria's own is not affected by the same policy that causes Nigeria's bad currency conversion to the dollar..

if you reduce india annual budget to ₹28 trillion similar to Nigeria ₦28 trillion..

india's ₹28 trillion is still equal to $326 billion...

South Africa R2.59 trillion is equal to $138.5 billion due to the whyte boers that stayed there.

the Naira is a weapon fashioned against Nigeria and Nigerians by the Western powers.

Excuses. Why is it that Black African Presidents accept the job of being puppets? Is death the worse thing?

Let me hit on some real facts. Again.

India is a Hindu nation. It was conquered by Muslim warlords. About 20% of the population converted to Islam.

The British came later and conquered India and took over from the Muslim rulers. About 3% of the population converted to Christianity.

Muslims conquered parts of Nigeria and then were followed by the British who colonized everyone. And basically everyone , perhaps over 99% of people in the country abandoned their Native religions and converted to Islam and Christianity. Wole Soyinka is probably the only prominent Nigerian that publicly espouses his Native Religion, in his case Ifa.

It's something strange that EVERY SINGLE elected government office holder or head of the Judiciary in Nigeria is a Christian or Muslim

You talk about puppet Presidents...what of the generality of THE PEOPLE that can't even remain faithful to their own culture and traditions?

Dear Sir, it clear...something is wrong with Black Africans. Here's a challenge I pose to ALL Nigerians...do you know how or why your family converted to Islam or Christianity?
I know my story and it's likely similar to most others and it tells a lot about the quality of Black African Humanity.

Good Luck to Nigeria.
Bri:tish devils used muslim terrorists to invade parts of Nigeria before they carried out their own invasion and decided to use a more peaceful approach called christianity since their muslim terrorists were been killed off.

People are faithful to their culture but are called tribalists by people like you.

This is a perfect example 🤦‍♂️ of the same excuses I'm talking about.
Are you telling telling me as the president you won't make policies and enter agreements that will be beneficial to Nigerians as a sovereign nation just because you want to keep friends or loyalty?
My point is African leaders get their own for body, easily swayed by the hunger amd taste for gratuitous wealth making them lose their sense of duty, obligation, compassion and patriotism.
Is your Governor, State legislature Representative,Local government chairman or ward councillor patriotic enough to be accountable to you?
Let alone those vultures in Abuja.
The governors are the ones messing up.. most of them are in agreement with the president but it does not stop them from uplifting their states they let other states carry their burden since their people will not call them out.

IbeOkehie:
1) I'm aware of the details you've posted about British lack of investment in Nigeria. My mother and discuss this once in a while. She is always full of praise for how the British built and maintained good schools in Nigeria and I'm always telling her they built or provided little infrastructure or services.

My mother was a lucky person with very aspirational parents that got the opportunity. She attended a famous Teaching College before independence. The school still exists today, but it's run down and dilapidated. That's one of the few things the UK built in Nigeria and we couldn't even maintain it.

So yes, I agree the British didn't do much for Nigeria.

Now can you agree that nothing the British did or didn't do can excuse Nigeria becoming the Poverty Capital of the World?

UN or World Bank report last week says Nigeria has the 2nd highest number of malnourished children. What have the British to do with that?

2) A well informed fellow would know about the Lancaster House negotiations. I've already recounted the history in previous posts.

The British sponsored pre-independence negotiations for all parties in many of their colonies. They were mostly held at the Lancaster House. The ground rule was that all major decisions had to be unanimous.

Indians held their own and decided to split into two countries because Muslims and Hindus couldn't get along. That's how Pakistan got to become an independent nation.

Malaysia held theirs and the Malay tribe and Chinese tribes decided they couldn't get along. They split into Malaysia and a new country called Singapore.

Nigeria held it's own Lancaster Conference.

*Awolowo and the Yoruba wanted a SECESSION CLAUSE put into the Constitution.

*The Sarduana and the North wanted to secede from Nigeria.

*Zik and the Igbo insisted the Nigeria must continue to exist in "Perpetual Unity".

Since there was no unanimity, Nigeria remained united. The Malaysians and Indians were wiser than the Nigerians. It's no surprise that that both countries are more productive and stable than Nigeria today. Black Africans simply don't have that THING needed to build successful nations.

Don't blame the British for our own stupidity.

Thanks for a cogent and insightful comment.

God Save The King.

Good Luck to Nigeria.

Any black country that does not have a significant amount of whyte invaders have a bad forex rate so yes it is due to the bri:tish there is poverty in Nigeria and the same bri:tish devils that polluted the ocean in Bayelsa state.

I'm the first to admit that Nigeria is a shithole. It's a terrible country and that's why I made a conscious choice to leave it forever. I'm never going back. My opinion of Nigeria is copiously recorded on this forum.

In wealth, standard of living and HDI, South Africa....and Botswana and Namibia...are much more advanced than Nigeria. No doubt. The reason is that those countries have a substantive or significant number of White citizens who continue to dominate the economy. That's the truth. Left to the Black African people, those countries will become just like Nigeria within 2 generations which is about 50 years. Zimbabwe is proof.

And before anyone shouts SANCTIONS, crude oil rich Nigeria became the Poverty Capital of the World in 2018 and hasn't been under any sanctions since the return to democracy in 1999. So please stuff it.

Kenya is more productive than Nigeria. I've seen Kenyan shirts and other products in mass merchandise stores here in the USA. Simple reason...Kenya has some few White Africans and a substantive Asian citizenry.

The most advanced or highest HDI country in West Africa is likely Ivory Coast and at least up to 1994 and probably today the Civil Service and most major companies there were run by French men.

White Europeans did a lot of evil things to other races, including Black Africans. They've piled up a lot of profit from that. As far as I know, Sweden, Norway and Finland didn't colonize any African or Asian countries and yet have high HDI today.

Black Africans have to admit that Whites or Europeans also brought a lot of good to the Continent. The sad thing is that we can't seem to be able to learn and profitably apply the good parts. It goes beyond technology. I think concepts like democracy, rule of law and property rights and free markets are even more important. It's telling that South Africa and Kenya are the only countries on the Continent with free floating currency.

The FACT is hard to accept. Black Africans can't build high HDI societies without input from White Europeans. I truly don't know what the solution can be.

As to this particular matter, these White South African refugees are likely the poorer segment of the White population. From my readings and research over the years, the Whites of South Africa have the highest living standards among ALL White people in the world.

Which means as the poor Whites leave, it means less job or lower class competition for Black South Africans. The wealthier Whites will remain to keep the economy on a stable footing. That's a win for Black South Africans. If this refugee program turns into a major migration, Trump may have contributed more to South African stability than anyone can fathom right now.

God Save The King.

Good Luck to Nigeria.

AFRICANS CAN ONLY FIX AFRICA..

Fast forward 2000s till now.. our own leaders even don't want to be treated in a Nigerian hospital.

In Nigeria China owns everything.. they will take foreign loans and embezzle it and tag on a white elephant project that is meaningless to the population.. and that won't be ever completed.. grin

We have Lebanese , Indian and Chinese employees getting paid more than Nigerians while doing the same job.. they don't respect Nigerian workers either..

But again, we as Nigerians gotta do better.... many of us collect money and clean mouth for ground and the politicians will use them for their dirty work..

We as Nigerians sometimes support a politician based on tribe.. some tribe don't want another tribe to rule..

For us to succeed, we must set aside our differences so we can build Nigeria together.
Rubbish..

For us to succeed, we must realise that there is no "us" and let each tribe go and build their own ethnic regions.

Reference:
The colonial paths of both countries were entirely different. The main difference that has led to a more 'European look' to parts (not all) of SA obviously at the expense of nationhood is that South Africa was essentially fought over by two distinct colonial powers, the Dutch and the British.

When conflict like this happens it leads to a different outcome from when one colonial power establishes sole rule.

For one, the powers invest more to 'settle down and defend' from the other because they essentially had to live off the land to sustain any conflict.

So there is a difference between a colonial master that just wants to 'take and go away' and one that stays to build things for himself out of planning for the long run, for ever.

The good things seen in SA have come at a heavy price of prolonged colonial rule and the sufferings of apartheid that has scarred that country for generations.

Be careful what you wish for.... in retrospect.

PS. If the British had adopted Nigeria (the Niger area) as their own in deed and stayed as long as the 90's, integrating and grafting into the root canal of the country, many parts (the parts they conclaved) will have looked like these be it Lagos, Calabar or Jos....where vestages of the British remain today.
