I think we should take off Simon for Yusuf. We need the ball to do the work. If you can’t hold ball, you’ll always be chasing the game and will tire quickly.
We really need to score first and ideally score two. This SA team has serious team chemistry. If you remove Simon then who will create assists |

Blueelf: Benching Osimhen would make Nigeria actually win comfortably You always wish evil against the Super Eagles. Benching Osimhen during knockout stages will be a foolish move because it's Onuachu the coach will start and Onuachu doesn't play as if he wants to score goals. It should have been tested in the group stages. I wanted to see a fully energetic Osimhen come on in the 2nd as a sub against tired defenders in the 55th- 60 mins mark and see his impact as a substitute. Because once Osimhen loses his energy and stamina in the 2nd half the Super Eagles attack dies off and with Onuachu as his replacement the SE is toothless. Please someone should tell JPES to bring on Yusuf and Onyedika. Aribo at worst should come on for Osimhen because once Aribo comes on as a midfielder the SE loses control of the midfield. |

Mujtahida: Eguavoen was flexible to the point him allow SM analyst to influence am. Result - that's what matters.
JPes gave some guys like Bruno opportunity against GB. I wasn't too impressed. Those guys on our first team are there for a reason. See Moses has edged out Chukwueze. We practically don't have a right winger because Lookman is a striker in this set up. He starts from the wings and in the midst of the game he situated himself centrally, coming in behind Osimhen to knack them kpako Lookman is the RW.. this is what happens when strikers play as wingers they know when to come into the box and attack. If it was Chukwueze he won't be in the box to attack and score goals. |

JoeEeL: Igbos didn't start a civil war.
The first election of 1959 was rigged by d british to favour d north. The first census was also skewed to project d north as having more population. So i:gbo soldiers killing leaders, men, women and children of other ethnic nations under the guise and lies of fighting corruption is not reasons to start a civil war From 1910 onwards to 1960 the Bri:tish gave most jobs to I:gbos even outside the Eastern region despite the fact that other ethnic nations also had highly educated people. That's one of the reasons that I:gbos are all over Nigeria. It was after 1960 when the Br:itish left, that ig:bos began loosing their jobs outside the Eastern region to indigenes but both Sultan and Akintola still raised public awareness that there were still a lot of ig:bos who had jobs outside their region and things were put in place to ensure the indigenes got jobs but i:gbos weren't happy and also because their region wasn't the richest region so the I:gbos killed the Sultan who was the prime minister and Akintola and abolished regionalism to ensure they don't lose jobs outside the Eastern region and also get the richest and wealth of other regions. But when a counter coup happened and I:gbos lost control of power the I:gbos started shouting dis-integration and b:iafra and separation. You have a mental problem if you believe I:gbos did not start the civil war |

SoNature: Oga, rest! You no get point. Amotekun cannot do anything for the British. If they wanted to control the security operatives of Nigeria, they would focus on the secret police (DSS) and the Military, not one eye Amotekun.
As for Shell, those ones are still operating in Nigeria because the NNPC is the most useless state-run oil corporation. If NNPC was a serious upstream oil and gas corporation, we would have sent Shell packing. By the way, NNPC has by far more stakes in oil and gas industry than Shell, so, no, they are not controlling the industry. For all JV partnerships between NNPC and Shell, NNPC has more stakes.
PS: I am done going you a free lecture . They already control the M:ilitary and D'SS. It's the same way the p:olice and m:ilitary does not have control over who enters your house and compound and they don't have control over how you secure your house unless they pass a law recommending where your house security guards come from. So right now, the m:ilitary and p:olice don't have control over how A:motekun secures the SW and that's what they want. It's not about more stakes. NNPC does not own a working refinery. Selling things in raw form is different from selling it in the refined form, the raw form is cheaper than the refined form. |

So, the British wants to control them, right? To what end exactly? Make una dey try think before una comment; is that so hard?

Once they accept his offer then the Bri:tish will have control over Amotekun and Amotekun will start harassing Yoruba people and other innocent people instead of going after criminals. Tessyy1701: The bolded is funny though How is it funny If SE was relying on Osimhen for goals then SE would have drawn all their group matches. SE only scored 1 goal which Osimhen scored in the group games and the SE did not score from open play in the other group matches. 1 was penalty and the other was own goal. How to get the best out of Osimhen should be the coaches priority and changing his position and role should be considered because SE needs someone that presses and defends from the front like Osimhen. |

safarigirl: His early matches for us were shaky, but it was most likely because he was just coming in and wasn't familiar with the setup yet
This is why I was so mad at Eguaveon when he started him against Ghana for that crucial World Cup qualifiers, and any attempts to wash Eguaveon of the foolishness of his decisions will not be condoned. Lookman had just switched allegiance to Nigeria in February of that year, and by March, you fielded him against Ghana for a crucial World cup match? Is that not carelessness?
You knew we were playing our toughest rivals in Ghana, yet, you decided to start this newly minted English-born and bred boy that barely knew the lay of the land to face tested African warriors.
Lookman and Calvin had barely been welcomed to the Super Eagles when Eguaveon threw them into a blazing fire and they rightly got burnt. We had players that were Nigerian-born and bred or had at least played African football enough to know how to play Ghana, yet, Eguaveon dropped them for Lookman, Dennis, Bassey, all new cats.
It was a foolish thing to do and Nigeria paid for it. 2 years later, these same players that faltered against Ghana are flying in AFCON because they have gathered the necessary experience. he capped them for the SE... so it was not a foolish thing to do.. they did not falter against Ghana. Uzoho messed up against Ghana and Osimhen failed to score so it was Uzoho and Osimhen that faltered against Ghana. Same way Osimhem is faltering in this AFCON but people are too sentimental to see it.. If Osimhen was not the main striker and definitely NOT Onuachu as main striker then SE would have been winning matches by at least 3 to 4 goals. I am 80% sure Eguavoen would have called Nathan Tella or Orban Or Adams for this tournament. he might say Tella is too young same way he said Amoo was too young. |

Emmy450: let me make this clear for you,. Nobody, absolutely no one, can do what osimhen does for the eagles, The power, the pace, the strength the resilience. Osimhen draws two to three players to himself thereby opening spaces for players like lookman to score goals..
So rest this matter.. That is not how football works.. Football is about tactics and players style of play, If Osimhen misses a match another player will replace him and teams tactics will adjust to the style of play of the players.. the goal had nothing to do with Osimhen, Osimhen did not draw 2 - 3 players to himself the defenders were only marking the striker which at the time was Osimhen it could have been Boniface, Awoniyi, Onuachu e.t.c and the defenders would have still followed the striker because that is what defenders do. You can say Lookman benefitted from Osimhen's poor offside awareness because Osimhen was just running expecting an early cross from Simon but Simon cut inside and Osimhen had already run away from where Simon could have passed to him. Infact, I would say its African mentality and stigmatisation of short people and small statured people that's making defenders overlook Lookman and Simon. If you want Osimhen to score goals then another person has to play the main striker's role to drag defenders away while Osimhen plays Supporting Striker/ Winger role that Lookman is playing then remove 1 of the FullBacks and let Lookman play the CAM or number 10 role while Simon plays LW and switches sides with Osimhen and Iwobi plays CM while Yussuf or Onyeka plays DM. that means the Goal threats won't just be Osimhen and Lookman but the main striker, Osimhen and Lookman. before this AFCON and early in this AFCON tournament when Osimhen played as a lone striker he was the only goal threat and SE struggled to score from open play and needed penalty to win or draw matches. Now that JPES has managed to gather sense from somewhere and play 2 strikers the SE has started scoring because Lookman has the inteligence to know that he should give Osimhen space and play his SS/RW role properly. there was a time Moffi and Osimhen started a match together but they kept getting in each others way and kept trying to attack the same space and going for the same headers and eventually clashing into each other at times, both Moffi and Osimhen wanted to play the main striker's role at the same time and did not decide who should play Supporting Striker and they did not even know they could switch positions from time to time on the pitch it was a disaster.. So yes, Osimhen is very replaceable, SE already has players that play like him but they may not press like him and will definitely not be offside like him. |
