Another person being foolish.

Your country imports everything from laptops to toothpicks, every single thing is in dollar rate in this country and it affects the buying and selling.

Take this foolishness to nursery school children, don't chat rubbish were adults are
Nigeria is not the only one that imports laptops and toothpicks that is as a result of the 1960 generation not been into science and technology and engineering..

A very good tournament for Nigeria and time to reflect on how to fix the team up for WC qualification. It is time to give the likes of Akinsanmiro and Eletu the chance cuz it was glaring we couldn't controlled our games in the middle in all our matches.
SE coaches will say Akinsanmiro and Eletu are too young.

SE haven't given Onyedika, Tijani any chance and Yusuf until this tournament wasn't invited.

Once Ndidi recovers the SE coaches will send Onyeka to the bench instead of playing a midfield of iwobi, Onyeka and Ndidi they won't invite one of Onyeka, Onyedika or Yusuf after this AFCON anymore.

When teams face a skilful fast forward player known to cause danger you always DOUBLE UP. Have you ever seen defenders allowing Mbappe, Ronaldo, Zaha etc to go 1v1 on your defense.

Aina had Adingra mostly covered in the first half even the first 25 minutes of the second half . But he was having too many 1v1 Chukwueze was not able to go forward and should have been backtracking. By the second half our boys were getting exhausted and completely gassed out, too much work.

Our midfielders were outnumbered and out skilled in the most negative defensive posture you can find. We could not win any second balls.

If Iwobi was placed much closer to VO and in a more forward position it may have been different. But he was playing DM and conceded the midfield.

I was surprised Onyeka was not sent off because he was working tirelessly and getting several fouls. Particularly because the referee was clearly biased. He stifled VO aggressive game with wrong calls against him and warned him.

From the get go any physical touch with the CIV players and they are rolling around like you hit them with a sledge hammer ⚒️.

This was made worse with our negative defensive posture literally inviting CIV to attack non stops 🛑
The bolded is a problem you, others and SE coaching crews are not answering.

iwobi was underwhelming and iwobi does not have to be in a "more forward" position let the striker ( Osimhen ) be closer to Iwobi not iwobi closer to the striker.

To do what you're saying then a 3 - 4 man midfield is needed..

As long as its a 2-man midfield then its always going to be disjointed.

I don't understand the emphasis on senior impacts on a player playing a role he's not familiar with. So him seniority go help am if he's made to play as a defender abi?
In football, a player has 2 roles.

1. - to defend and press when his or her team is not in possession.

2. To attack and keep possession when his or her is in possession.

As long as the player is not a defender or GK then roles don't matter..

Midfielders are meant to attack and defend unless the coach tells the midfielder to hold midfield position.

We over achieved. We don't have the best set of players on the continent.

Yes we are blessed in some areas like the attack but let's not be dishonest going into the competition we complained about how poor our goalkeeping, defense and midfield was.

So don't make it sound like we were run away favorites.

The performance of the defense and Nwabali pleasantly surprised us that almost had us winning the trophy.

Nigeria is always a contender at the AFCON like Egypt, Cameroon and Ghana but that's not always a guarantee we will win all the time.
In our team only Nwabali plays in Africa.

Our other players play in top leagues across Europe, so SE has one of the best set of players on the continent in fact top 2 best out of all the other countries. I will place them at #1.

SE didn't win the Trophy because of reliance on Osimhen for goals.

It is the criticism of Iwobi that is unfair if we just say he's a senior player and so? He's got more caps. He no senior (and I don't mean age wise) anybody in the team like that apart from Osimhen, Ajayi, Aribo and Chukwueze.
Criticism of iwobi is justified not unfair.

He has been in the team since he was a teenager.. he should be fired up in midfield and motivate others the way Ekong was always fired up in defense.

He might 1 day be the captain of the SE and a person who is not fired up and taking charge should not be the captain.

In 2022, we crashed out in Round of 16, I came here and said the team failed, make we no blame anybody.

Yet, the Nigerian mob used the opportunity to pour so much bile on Okoye, man had to recuse himself from this AFCON. Till today, that boy cannot post without one degenerate posting rubbish in his comments.

Today again, we have lost, I have come and said, "It's team failure, no need to single out any player", yet, once again, a mob fights for their rights to a scapegoat.

It is the team that failed. Not Iwobi, not Osimhen, not Aina, not Chukwueze, not Zaidu. The team failed. Nobody hold their side 100%, so, to single out one person in a team loss is wickedness.

The entire team was poor. Let us be just in criticism and not constantly single out one person for hate. If na only one person fail, we for face am, but this one was team failure.
There's need to single out players.

When Joe Hart was at Man City under Pep Guardiola he was singled out and replaced, in fact most of the team was replaced only Aguero, David Silva, De Bruyne, Kompany, Toure were retained..

If a family is poor and one person in the family becomes successful and empowers his family members will you say it was family success or the one person's success that propelled the family?

Please, you people are ingrates. This team overachieved and this is what they get. Maybe we really deserve to crash out in the earlier stages, y'all don't deserve nice things.
There was no strikers crisis..

apart from Awoniyi, Boniface and Sadiq.

there is Akor Adams, Gift Orban, Terem Moffi, aribo. e.t.c

The team did not over-achieve..

The SE standard is to win the competition.

If Super Falcons reach the final of WAFCON will you say they over-achieved?

You are the one allowing your bias against Iwobi making you sentimental. First question: is that the role he's suited for? You saddle him with defensive duties and expect to get the best of him. Make una free the boy jare
When a team is not in possession everyone is meant to defend and recover the ball..

iwobi defending and defensive duties is part his job.

When the SE was not in possession iwobi didn't make any attempt to defend most times Bassey was doing iwobi's defensive duties.

How can the ordinary Nigerian be more concerned about football than who wins elections?

Do you know how many people have died in avoidable circumstances because of Bulaba's policies? Do you know how many lives have been ruined long term?

Please, don't provoke me with stupid talk this night. Bag of rice is 77k, dollar is 1,500. The hardship will not stop because you won one football trophy, so, Super Eagles is not and can never be more important than who is President.

Please, talk like an adult that pays tax, can't be talking like one small child without responsibilities
There are different sizes when it comes to bag of rice and other foods. You don't have to buy the 77k rice when there is 10kg rice, 25kg Rice e.t.c.

Dollar is not the currency Nigeria uses and it's rate has to do with the large population of the country relative to Nigeria's exports and is decided by World Slavery Bank and International Slavery Fund as a way for them to reduce Nigeria's population not Ti:nubu's policies...

My verdict, we have done well, we have exceeded the expectations we had going to the tournament, no one gave that squad a chance to get to the final, the problems we had in the final today was a problem that was obvious for over 6 months or even our world cup qualification. We had a patched midfield that did well getting to the finals but was badly exposed today. No point feeling bad , I can only praise them.

Now my reaction to this, enough of huge ego of we have too many talents and any player that doesn't want to play for us should not come, it's time to build our TEAM, qualifying for semi finals and Finals in Afcon and loosing should not continue to be a habit, it was obvious we needed ball carriers and runners to help Onyeka's hardwork in that midfield but lacked it soon much. Now we need to go find them. We need 2 technical teams from the nff that should go round and convince players to play for Nigeria, we have to many diaspora talents that we can't just relax and say we can't beg them infact from the English league, Italian league, German league we can build a squad from them, while watching that final today I could just imagine having a runner like Ogbene of Luton town and a ball carrier like Eze along with Onyeka we would counter that ivory coast team like demons. We gave our attackers especially Osihmen little chance., It's time to go and reach out and convince the diaspora talents more

The second technical team should focus on the local league and African league and find talents there too. We should not be patching up a squad with few weeks/ months to the to tournament, there is another Afcon next year we have work to do. Thanks very much.
Ejuke is a ball carrier, he wasn't called up.

Osimhen is also a ball carrier but he didn't want to help the midfield.

iwobi is also a ball carrier but he under-performed.

The coach's game plan limited Iwobi. Peseiro's plan was to loop the ball from the defense to attack and the midfield to try recover the ball when it didn't get through, that might be the reason Onyeka had a more advanced role: to recover the ball and make forward drives, since he has more pace and is also better defensively. Iwobi's role wasn't as loud, that's why many didn't notice.
Onyeka did not have an advanced role.

That's how Onyeka plays for Brentford..

iwobi was been very careful probably due to red card he got at the last AFCON.

iwobi was letting players run past him, ball watching, expecting passes to be played directly to his feet, when a player passes to Iwobi and the pass is not directly to his feet even if iwobi can jog to the pass iwobi would stand still and watch the pass go past him.
iwobi did this in most of the matches.

Peseiro did not have a plan, looping the ball from defense to attack has always been a Nigerian way of playing football.

Ndidi is not a controller either. None of the midfielders in this team to CIV 2023 is a controller. None.

This team needed an Nwakali but Jpes kept playing dumb and stubborn.

Ndidi isn't a pass master himself.
You mentioned Nwakali...

They will come for you...

Onyedika and Yusuf were also there.

He could have fielded 3 DMs in Onyeka, Onyedika and Yusuf since he knew he wanted to park the bus.

But it seems playing with 3 midfielders is an abomination to Nigerian coaches.

Our approach in this second half is part of the reasons I don't rate Jose Peseiro as our coach. His attacking side is poor but I give him credit for taking some advice on and making some changes in our personnel selection.

Didn't expect him to get far with his 442 but his changes to 433 and then 343 saw me take notice of what he could be cooking. He went with what worked for him and gave a nation Joy.

I wouldn't mind him staying beyond the Afcon to continue the WCQs path but I also won't mind him leaving especially knowing that we need a proper coach who can come in, fix our midfield properly and fully utilise the powers in our attack.

We went 1-0 up and should have not let our foot off the gas in the second half. We should been doing a double over CIV today if we had taken the game to them for the first 25mins of that second half.

It is well. Well done to the lads. But I am not happy. Coming this far, taking the lead and losing it this way makes me sad.

We move.
It's not only the midfield that needs fixing.

The wingers, and the attack also needs fixing.

Osimhen didn't do enough in this tournament.

Our midfield needs to be worked on big time. We lost this game because we couldn’t hold the ball.
That's not just a midfield problem.. it's a team problem..

To be able to hold the ball you need players to always want to receive passes and make the passing shorter..

Players need to always demand the ball and the player needs to know who to pass to in 2 seconds of receiving the ball.
