happney65: The ball stops at the table of the president and not NLC and TUC.
The reversal was due to the fact that Yaradua was a socialist who believed government has a business doing business whereas it is the other way round.
Government has no business doing business hence Obasanjo selling it off as he knew it won't work Government itself is a business so what nonsense are you saying. Government has every business doing business because that is the way to provide federal jobs for it's citizens. |

Nefort: That is the truth!!!
If you have a large Gold reserve in your backyard and it makes you wealthy then it is your luck and it doesn't change the fact that the Gold reserves made you wealthy.
Yorubas are lucky that the commercial capital of Nigeria is in Lagos which got developed as a result of the early colonial influence, Government influence, and then investment inflows from foreign and local sources. They are reaping the benefits and it doesn't change the fact that Yorubas are benefiting from it. This is why Yorubas dominate certain areas like IT, Banking etc. Lagos is the commercial center of the Yorubas not of Nigeria and it is as a result of Yorubas concentrating their wealth there. It has nothing to do with colonial influence, government influence, Foreigners. During the colonial government only a part of Lagos island was the capital and only white people and Nigerian colonial government workers were allowed there. The rest if Lagos was filled with dirt roads, forests, and underdevelopment. No University in Lagos, no teaching hospitals, no housing estates built by the British, no pipe borne water. Yorubas are reaping the benefits of Yoruba wealth concentration. So again, stop saying nonsense. |

Nefort: EDUCATION plus HOME ADVANTAGE. Igbos and other southern tribes are educated as well but they don't have the population and home advantage that Yorubas have. If I am Yoruba looking investors to back my fintech startup, most of the investors in Lagos will likely be Yoruba due to a dominant population of Yorubas, and a Yoruba investor will be more willing to invest in my startup. Igbos and other southern tribes have crude oil, gas, farmlands, population, coal, home advantage e.t.c. They have much more than the Yorubas have and will ever have so stop saying nonsense. |

onuman: London is not described as city of English people. Develop more sense if you want one Nigeria. You can't have one Nigeria where non southwesterners cannot call Lagos their home nor participate in the politics and governance of Lagos State. Even a Pakistani immigrant now occupies the most prestigious office of Mayor of London. If you want Lagos as city for southwesterners, fully declare Oduduwa Republic the agitation for which you suspended after Tinubu became president of Nigeria, so that Lagos will become city of the Yoruba 100%. London is in England which is the English territory and region so it is a city of English people. If the Pakistani man had said what you just said about London then he would never be the mayor of London because that is anti English mentality and hatred for English people. non-english people in England do not have anti-english mentality and some English leaders support globalism so they allow non-english people into their government. the SW does not support globalism, most of the non-Yoruba people in the SW have anti-Yoruba mentality and publicly hate Yoruba people and some of them have killed Yoruba people.. iReddington: Yes, a "SW man" like you call it, Akinola Aguda recommended the capital be moved from Lagos because over time, the coastal town of Lagos was growing rapidly leading to questions around the suitability of Lagos serving as both the FCT and that of Lagos, there were intolerable conditions of living and working, traffic, housing shortages, congestion, and lack of expansion, and even when the capital was moved, these problems still persists, and Lagos was becoming decrepit, but Lagos thrived and still thriving. Lagos became what you all envy today, because of the impeccable administration and effective Governance it has received from it's leaders. "Too many South Westerners" did not abandon Lagos because of civil service, only those who had employment there did, and the entire civil service didn't comprise of just Yorubas.
You said too many Igbos remained in Lagos, just like all tribes, people who had business remained and those who thought Lagos would totally fail especially when the capital was then moved also left, including IGBOS too. Let me tell you, Lagos has always been the commercial hub of Nigeria, with and without the people of the "South East" especially due to its close proximity to the Atlantic, Many great cities began as ports in the era when sailing ships were chief engines of global commerce. The South West Lagos is for it's South West people and blessed with an amazing geography, and excellent administrative leadership of the Yorubas. There's nothing ridiculous about that. Lagos has always been the commercial center of the Yoruba nation.. Lagos is not and has never been the commercial center of Nigeria. |

IGBOSON1: Context mate...context! Dr Ekwueme was addressing Igbo in a Igbo gathering, and was not limiting his scope to a 'one Nigeria' with its attendant pro-Yoruba/Fulani power-play dynamics, bigotry, nepotism, tribalism and envy that has enabled these two ethnicities use a political-economy and structure enthroned and sustained by them to lord it over everyone else! His statement was made in a global context and were mere words to help ginger his people in the face of the challenges confronting them! You on the other hand are bragging with practical advantages accorded you by a political-economy that's been tilted in your favour from 1970 to date....bragging of 'controlling so and so'! You have no case, and trying to use what Dr Ekwueme told his kinsfolk in a Igbo gathering to try and 'justify' your bragging on here, is akin to a bystander getting furious when he hears a man tell his daughter that she's 'the best daughter in the world'! How does him telling that to his kinsfolk in a gathering you were not invited to affect you in the real world!? Hasn't your Nigeria bragged on the African or global stage over one thing or the other!? The key thing here is context: competing or bragging to an outsider is different from bringing it home to brag to the entire family that you're 'better than your siblings and parents'!
The only hypocrites here are YOU and those who subscribe to your supremacist and arrogant way of thinking! You use your hegemonic control of 'one Nigeria' to gain advantages to yourself over and above that accorded to others, then come on a public forum to smugly declare yourselves 'in control of so and so sector'....implying you're better than the very same people you've been cheating for decades! It has been asked, if you feel you're so 'superior and more sophisticated' than everyone else in Nigeria, why don't you fck off and go form your own independent country where the sky would be your limit and you wouldn't be inhibited or dragged down by any deadweight!? The Igbo you so despise, deride, and have illusions that you're better than, have made it clear they would rather be seperated from you and bigots that reason like you, and they have been targeted by the Nigerian state and had thousands of their kinsfolk murdered as a consequence! You connived and plotted to steal the last presidential election for your emilokan mandate thief, even though all fairminded/neutral observers would agree it was Igbolokan.....one would have thought this would be a good opportunity to drop the federal gov't objections to the court ruling freeing Mazi kanu and assist him and his group IPOB to exit from 'one Nigeria' so you can free yourselves to use that Yoruba 'ingenuity' to develop even faster! But you're not doing that, and the reason why is that you don't even have confidence in your own ability to make it in life without 'one Nigeria' and the unmerited advantages you have criminally cornered for yourselves....not forgetting the fact 'one Nigeria' gives you the opportunity to sabotage Igbo economic/political interests! You're hypocrites who don't have the confidence to make it on your own without leeching off of others, so spare us all these lies, arrogance and fake allusions to some kind of sophisticated superiority over everyone else! The only place Yorubas control is the SW. Igbos never wanted to separate from Nigeria, Igbos wanted total control of Nigeria and all the regions in Nigeria that's why your ancestors killed the leaders of the other regions and abolished regionalism and created a Unitary government where the wealth and revenues of all the regions go to the FG which Ironsi controlled which is what Nigeria uses today. After Ironsi was killed and no longer in control of the government was when Ojukwu started screaming separation and secession. So whatever you're complaining about was created and put in place by I:gbos in 1966/1967. You are the hypocrite. opamoses1 is right. |

Below is the meaning of hegemony. Pray tell us those that are personification of it than the two most radical and extremist ethnic group of Nigeria today, I.e the Igbos and the Fulani, who wish to usurp, by force or stealthy and hostile economic takeover, the land and asset of others.
Yorubas are happy with their culture, boundary and themselves. We are a humble people who are not and have never been usurper or covetous land grabbers let alone be interested in foisting our culture, religion or way of life on anyone. That is you lot and the Fulanis.
That Yorubas are incidentally great and dominate is an exponent of their talent and natural endowment as a people not any half-baked notion of hegemonistic nature your sort espouse out of jealousy and envy of us that precipitates inferiority complex in you and your kinsmen.

TopBanter: Olodo. 70 words is now the criteria showing presentational intelligence because you say so? Same you whose interpretation of what a nation is happens to be is at stark variance to what billions worldwide accept a nation is?
You're actually more dullardly than I first assumed and a delusional hack to boot There can be no such thing as an ethnic police force. Get that into your thick skull.
Yes some ethnicity will form the majority in a regional force but it is impractical and impossible, for example, for every police officer in a SW regional force to be Yoruba. We are not in year 1200AD i.e the days of the Ife and Benin Empires even as it sounds you belong back there.
The thought of an ethnic police, rather than a regional force, is asinine because many non-Yorubas abound in the SW who were born, educated and raised there plus speak Yoruba perfectly.
These are realities that shows nothing but throwback discrimination from your ilk would deem those individuals as unfit to join a SW regional police force.
It is crystal clear I am talking to a little boy in his room playing star wars games and fancying himself a conquering bombardier because it it obvious there is not a single adult practicality, useful intellect, solutions-provision efficacy or capacity to think critically in all your stupid and imbecilic talk. There are many non-emiratis in the U.A.E yet you won't see them in the UAE police force. Same with Japan, China, South Korea, India, Pakistan, Germany, France e.t.c It is not discrimination to protect your ethnic territory, lands, culture e.t.c from people of other ethnicities it is called protectionism and patriotism. It's people like you that deceived thousands of Yoruba people to partake in END:SARS in Lagos and burn their own cities to the ground. Again, you have the right to keep deceiving yourself. TopBanter: Lol. Okay. Pele Mr.Freedom fighter and champion against subjugation and ethnic cleansing.
I gree with you that Nigeria does not exist. It is not a nation. You know best and your sole views about nationhood are accepted as universally and empirically correct above what billions believe and have enshrined into law, constitution and functional governance identity.
I abhor Fulani herdsmen terrorism, based loosely on a violence-driven land-grab and expansionist agenda, as passionately as any progressive and fair-minded Nigerian does.
Unlike you though, I won't start confusing myself to the extent of looking in Sokoto for what is in Sokoto trouser.
Rather than try to re-invent the wheel as square and not circular, because such makes you feel better about your impotent frustration, why not understand it is leadership ineptitude and cowardice responsible for the proliferation of terror in Nigeria today?
Pedantically trying to use nuanced rhetoric to define nationhood will not stop Fulani terror or killing. Regional policing will stop Fulani terror and killings. Regional autonomy, that means regions of Nigeria can host the equivalent of London Metropolitan police forces rather than Hisbah or Amotekun that Nigeria parades, will stop Fulani terrorists blackmail of Nigeria.
That is what Nigerians should be fighting the Government to hand to us, as we did over #EndSARS, rather than using nebulous interpretation of concept to feel good about our own impotence.
If I even agree Nigeria is not a nation as you claim, and I accept your definition of nationhood, tell me how that stop terror when those who can fight it will still not be empowered to do so effectively and optimally under our unitary 'one Nigeria' system.
Over-intellectualisation of what is simple is what Nigerians are guilty of because we are cowards who prefer to remain that way, in suffering and horror, rather than fight for leaders to give us solutions.
Using an example I hope your 'Thomas Sankara' brain can work with, would the recent massacre in Plateau happen if the middle belt had her own regional police force with specialist anti-terror units that can work as microcosm of Mossad, MI5, FBI, CIA and others specifically tasked with using information gathering, technology and force, when necessary, to keep their people and geographical space safe?
You Nigerians are just not ready. Keep touting nebulous gibberish rather than face facts and reality per where we are all heading if we do not stand up to fight for ourselves and begin making valid demands of Government. You are the one that makes simple things very difficult. Nigerians want ethnic police not regional police. Your terrorists friends have taken over communities in Niger state and are collecting toll.. You don't even have the intelligence to make your point in less than 70 words. You suffer from serious and chronic colonial mentality. |

People like you who attempt to misinterpret empirical truth, to support your agenda or viewpoint, are dangerous.
You googled Nation (see result below) and regurgitated verbatim the first definition that suits your ethno-chauvinistic view of human correlation and existence whereas the second definition is much better and one that most human beings of the world can attest to as reflecting their reality today because it posits a nation is:
.
We'd have to travel back to 1760 to validate your impression of what a nation is because it certainly is nothing like what most of us know a nation to be today from actual experience living within most nation of the world across all continents of the world.
Of course some can claim Mike Tyson is white but it is left to the grounded, non-brainwashed and non-confused individual to conclude his race while others, like you, can remain discussing a non-issue. Keep deceiving yourself. Keep using examples that are built on the subjugation, massacre and ethnic cleansing of indigenous people. Your example will favor f:ulani terrorists and other terrorists in the killing of indigenes and theft of lands. In summary, you are a terrorists sympathizer.. |

You can't delist SH owned names. You can only delist the ones you own. Don't delist the names yourself. Contact support and tell them to delist, they will ask you if the name has sold outside she and another question. Make sure you delist it 2 months before it expires because delisting takes 1 week to 1 month. If you delist it a week before it expires then they will not delist it until after 1 month by the 1st week of your domain expiring SH will contact you to point nameservers to SH and since the name has expired you won't be able to point nameservers to SH and this will result in SH penalties against your SH account with a list of violations per domain you delisted late. I currently have 14 violations due to me putting the name on Wholesale market at $10 and expecting a wholesale sale which never happened since it's easier to sell domains submitted with coins on wholesale market and SH says too many violations will result in SH limiting my account. Huge:Domains has since bought most of my own domains that were on SH that expired and dropped since I didn't have funds to renew. What I'm doing this new year and from now on is since Huge:domains and some others like SH names.. I will list it in wholesale market and delist the name 1 and half months before it expires then after it's delisted from SH ( SH will send you a mail telling you the name has been delisted) then I will renew the name and put it on sale on Dan or Afternic for $300 - $800 for another year. I believe SH names are too expensive and you can't list names below $2199 unless it's standard listing and in Nigeria now if you make 4 sales of $400 per month that's over N1m per month and for some people 1 sale of $400 per month will be enough. |

komekn: Quality, Creative players do not remain in dead teams season after season and in poor quality clubs with poor quality players. In the case of Nwakali for the past 8 years.
Chávez has a -23 goal 🥅 deficit after 15 games loosing 11 and winning just 3 ,two by sheer luck because players were sent off.
Why is a quality player in a dead team getting €2k or less a week.😨. Because he is too good. Why did world class players like Okocha, Allan saint maximin, Aiyegbeni, Giovinco, Mitrovic, Ben Arfa play for dead teams |

Evercurious: Keep crying and giving yourself false narratives to soot your FOOLISHNESS while the killer herdsmen kill you all... Btw,do you hear of these killer herdsmen recking havoc in SE? Continue in your FOOLISHNESS and cowardice while you place your neck ready to be slaughtered by your masters, YOUR IRREDEEMABLE SLAVE H:erdsmen have been attacking Yorubas since the 1800s so most Yorubas who know Yoruba history already see F:ulanis as ter:rorists and fight them. the igbos since 1960 have been attempting to take control of politics and economics of the SW either legally through elections or illegally through unrest and war. so Yorubas needs to keep their eyes on both F:ulanis and I:gbos. Once the I:gbos teams up with Northerners politically then the Yorubas will be completely locked out of every federal institution in the country.. |

oluwaseyi0: A lot actually ...
A lot that will be busy fighting the Igbo pending when the Fulani will kill them too as we have it in plateau
Mumu man, for how long will we the Yoruba keep fighting Igbo knowing fully well the real problem is Fulani
I remember clearly my secondary school (in Ijebu, Ogun state) been shut down because of activities of Fulani herdsmen, infact all school in the town were force to close due to fear of Fulani attack, this is long time before nairaland was even created, and the issue still occasionally persist
I'm a full Ijebu boy and can see through this Islamist-Fulani gimmick, there are more than 50 thousand ibo and south south people in my home town yet not even once have we have communal crisis, far less than a thousand Fulani and we have to close all school not once not twice
I didn't even know about this stupid Yoruba-igbo tribalism until I join nairaland despite been surrounded by people from south south and south east, this tribalism as far as I'm concerned only exists in our imagination
But you see that islamic-fulani terrorist, no matter how you white wash it it is what I experience, using cows to eat farmland, attacking a full street because cow was missing (last last cow was found in a ditch), forcing Olabisi Onabanjo University to hurriedly close down
This Fulani are not ready to integrate into any society, they have no value for their own life talkless of your own, and the funny thing is their leaders are solidly behind them while our own leaders are doing ibo-vs-yoruba
Wake me up when one single person is sentence to death for the death of all the people in plateau, Sunday igboho was pursued out of Nigeria by Buhari why Fulani herdsmen that kills villagers in oyo walk free
Open your eyes and see your true enemy, how many ibo/south south live close to you and how many physical communal clashes/death do you have Igbos have attacked the Yorubas politically, socially, economically e.t.c. Yorubas and igbos fought each other during the civil war.. the civil war was Yoruba vs Igbo war. in the 1960s , nzeogwu exhibited such hatred towards Yorubas. "According to a Nigerian Police Special Branch Report, nzeogwu executed at least 4 army and police security personnel including one of the men on his team (Sergeant Daramola Oyegoke). nzeogwu also participated in the execution of Col. Raph Shodeinde, his superior officer at the Nigerian Military Training College and is reported to have shot indiscriminately at fleeing women and children..".. the statement above shows pure hatred for Yorubas and a lot of igbos all have this similar behavior towards Yorubas. The igbos also tried to attack the SW but we're stopped at Ore. Before the civil war, Nnamdi Azikwe was also fighting the Yorubas politically because he wanted to be premier of the Yoruba region. Azikwe tried to politically get Lagos and the SW region. Ojukwu tried to use warfare to get Lagos.. Peter Obi and CRV tried politically to get Lagos. Over 60 years and counting only Igbos have targeted and are still targeting Lagos and Yorubas. some people on this thread are already shouting "Lagos will fail" just because the governor is not igbo. must igbos subjugate Yorubas before igbos have a sense of achievement you igbos already have Rivers state, Delta state, Anambra states yet you are more concerned about the SW, the Yorubas and who is governor of Lagos. 2 petroleum producing states with seaports and airports yet you igbos are not happy that a place called Lagos is not under igbo control . you are sick and have serious mental problems. |

charlesemeka85: iwobi and nwakali don’t play the same role. Stop living in illusion
Ejike creative Abi dancer? Orban wey don lose form and rarely starts for Gent?
U no get talk they play the same role but different positions on the pitch. If you watched Ejuke against Barcelona you won't call him a dancer.. Orban still made assists for Gent and can come on for Chukwueze who will also need to rest. Its about having players to sub in and out, so that the starting player can breathe. |

Odunayaw: He is right that we failed to qualify for WC because we lacked Nwakali's service?
That's the question to answer Yes. football is about outscoring the opponents.. SE did not have enough creative players to create chances for other players to score.. players don't score goals if the chances are not created for them. Also Osimhen's been offside a lot also affected the team |

Odunayaw: You should stop saying nonsense Philosopher1979 is right.. Nwakali will give the coach the option of resting Iwobi by subbing Iwobi out in the 2nd half instead of him playing full 90mins even when he his tired.. Awoniyi's injury became worse due to Awoniyi playing for the SE despite been partially injured when the coach and NFF could have invited another player in his place.. As it is now, Ihenacho should be excluded from this AFCON due his injury. Nigeria has too many players to choose from and should protect players with injury by not inviting them. creative players like Ejuke, Nwakali, Orban should be in the team. |

Botragelad: Did you miss your history lesson? Blacks also sold themselves and were very much active in the trade. Some even refused to stop the slave trade after it was abolished. slave trade never happened.. whyte people did not have the logistics, transportation and weaponry to carry out inter-continental slave trade. Another thing, whyte people in that era hated black people a lot and will rather kill a black person than trade with a black person. If a black person owns a house then the whyte people will burn down that house and if the black owner does not escape from the house the black owner will be burnt to death. In 2023, Whyte people maltreat and kill black people at the slightest opportunity. Do you think that between the years 1600 - 1830 when racism was at it's highest and when black Americans were already in slavery do you think that they will trade with black people who were the same race and very similar to black Americans whom they had already enslaved long before they invaded Africa black americans were enslaved in the 1600s but as at late 1890s the bri:tish were still fighting the Binis to conquer the Bini Kingdom, the bri:tish fought the Yorubas from the early 1800s till early 1900s. so how is it possible that people the bri:tish were fighting wars against were also the same people that the bri:tish and eur:opeans claims sold their fellow blacks into slavery in their history books. |

Jokerman: Great.
Other countries already have this.... If perhaps we delayed independence, the British would have done all these kushites perfectbeing tsdarkside are right. before the br:itish left Nigeria, the Br:itish did not build one university, our number of primary and secondary schools were very low, br:itish did not build smooth roads all over Nigeria , no housing estates, no plans for clean water for communities, low number of hospitals, no or maternal hospitals, no childrens hospitals, no teaching hospitals e.tc. majority of the private companies where owned by the br:itish and they only gave Nigerians clerical work which is what the education system they gave us is meant to produce office assistants. All the developments you see in Nigeria today from Abuja to lagos to calabar to Akwa-ibom to oyo to Enugu e.t.c are all built by Nigerians, our parents, our grand parents e.t.c the br:itish left Nigeria to rot. Everything you, eriokanmi, oglalasioux, uptheante , tete7000 , judolisco, thatigboman, abiliboi, pussyking e.t.c had the privilege of enjoying in Nigeria was through the hardwork of parents, grand parents, and other Nigerians, yes Nigeria should be a lot better but don't ever in your life rubbish efforts of Nigerians like your parents, grand-parents e.t.c. |
