Now look at this. Before now, Southerners do not wish to work in government ministries and parastatals because the pay has always been poor. Only Northerners who are almost half educated loved to work in government ministries and parastatals and earn peanuts because Northerners were not so money conscious like we Southerners.

This is the same reason why you will notice that most Judges in all the states of the federaion are Women or Northeners. It is because a brilliant Southern male lawyer is not ready to work in government ministries and parastatals and earn peanut. A Southern male lawyer knows that what government pays in five years, he can make it on a single case. But a Southerne female lawyer is comfortable with the little that government is paying, as her husband is most times the main financier of the family.

This is one of the reasons why there are less Southerners in government ministries and parastatals .

Another reason is that Southerners work gainst each other and even witch haunt their brethren when they find their selves in postition unlike Northerners that once you speak Hausa, you are favoured. So, should we blame the North for this?

However, some things have changed all over the years, as unemployment inceases day by day, anyone is ready to do any job includingworking in government ministries and parastatals and earning peanuts with the wrong believe that he will be in a position to steal government money.

I have one advice for you. Change your institution.

I have been following all the comments and dislike of this trend. To make the point clear to all. I created this trend not to panic job seeker like me but to give them full details about this company. Though the company is kind of new which is why we can't get much details on Google.. even the information on Google map and thier website as at when I posted this trend was not helpful.

To my best of knowledge. I can fully say that the job position is real. Here are my reasons..

1. I chatted the CEO up on LinkedIn and we had a good conversation about the company. Though I might be a job seeker I have to apply some level of respect when dealing with my prospective company.. he made me see some Point which gives me more assurance

2. I created a WhatsApp group chat where we have few persons that have attended the assessment and now they are in the interview stage.. which is stage 2.

The mode at which Thia company works.. is on a high side with a good intentions. Well I didn't attend the assessment because I am far from Lagos.

I will keep this trend up to date once something good comes up for those in stage 2... Thank you all. And thank you Nairaland

I went to the said venue today
1. It is in a very residential area.
2. Nobody around there knows the name of the company or what they do there. Not even the gateman knows.
When you get there, the only thing they've told the gateman to say is that they are conducting exams there. He knows no further detail.
3. The testing system seems to be too generic. How do you test a data scientist, social media manager and web developer with a computer assessment test that sounds like quantitative reasoning?
Also, in this Covid era, if a computer assessment is what they need, it can be done remotely. If the company is as tech as their website claims then this would be done easily.
The said website (which I think is a fluke) says they are a multi-national data analysis company. If truly they are, a remote test would be easy for them to conduct.

I would advice that you do not go but incase you do please come back here to tell us how it went.

I studied mathematics as you might have guess No companies will employ a raw mathematics graduate as there are little theorems to prove
So i settled for teaching sec school students mathematics.
My teaching experience is no different from others, overworked and underpaid i know that's no the life i wanted
One fateful day i was on job site they advertised for a data scientist job i check the requirement
1. Graduate of mathematics, statistics or computer science,
2. Must know python or R
3. SQl database among others

And the pay is 250k.
I was excited about the pay i know i can learn whatever i needed to learn to be a data scientist
I researched online the more i search the more i love the field more. I knew i found whatever i'm looking for.
So i resigned my job to learn data science months and months of serious learning, books
Pluralsight, youtube, udemy etc. Watching and learning how the best in the field does it
I feel job ready.
So i started searching for data science jobs only one company venture garden group sent me a computer test unfortunately i missed the test
I paid "professional" to do my cv results was not any better.
No Data science jobs was forthcoming more than a year after i resigned my job
I was unhappy as no salary was coming and bills keep rising but i'm satisfied as i know i only need to wait for opportunity to present itself

I nearly fell for d trick. He insulted the hell out of me when i started asking him questions.
He was like: i am not ur mate... U are very stu..pid...you think we are playing here... I am trying to do my job... lol. I was perplexed after that episode.

I kept wondering how he got to know about the collection of the ATM card!!

i remember a yoruba muslim guy (my friend though) who was screaming at the top of his voice in our estate meeting with so much venom and hate in his tone that an igbo man will never be president of nigeria, like his life depended on it. i was just wondering why he was so passionate about it.

Sadly he suddenly died about a month ago, and i remembered that scene. If there is an existence after life, i'm sure an igbo man being president would be the least of his problems at the moment. He may be struggling to explain to God why he harbored such hate in his heart.

regardless of his position and that of many others like yourself, If nigeria lasts long enough, an igbo man will eventually be president, its inevitable. But i doubt if it will last as much as it has lasted already.

Therefore, focus your energies on more important things. if someone close to you is afflicted by covid 19 (i pray not) and is in a critical state and there is a shortage of medical personnel as is the case in many places today, i'm sure u wont be selective about the tribe of those treating him/her.

And if a tragedy were to befall you due to the terrible state of national leadership we have in the nation as it has befallen many, i am certain you would have preferred to have had better leadership regardless of the tribe of the leaders and be spared that tragedy.

Focus on important things.
