How is vat paid, isn't it after consumption, I don't get your warped logic......a state should get VAT based on what it's citizens consume which is what this reform is addressing.

Lagos is getting so much VAT just cost the major corporations a domiciled there and Kano is getting a lot more just because it's got more LGAs without commensurate consumption to justify it's huge allocation.
You are so ignorant. VAT is gotten from the final value paid for the goods but the profit of the producer can be ready before the goods are consumed. Between the producer n consumers there are retailers and wholesaler who pay cash down for goods before the final consumer sees it.

This VAT issue is just being unduly over flogged......VAt should be consumption based, with the MTN statistics of 200b monthly as an example. if Kano or Abia can get more people who use MTN,they will get a higher percentage of the consumption within their states as VAT instead of Lagos earning more for having just their HQ domiciled there.

Alcohol consumption for instance, how can a northern state that prohibits it's consumption earn more VAt on that commodity than a southern state where it isn't prohibited just because the northern state has higher population and LGAs.

This policy would only engender states to be more productive and attract investments by making there states secure, you can not be breeding potential terrorist by not providing good education and health facilities and expect the rest of the country to keep funding your negligence.
consumption tax iss tax that rewards the producer based in whatis consumed and not the consumer. The consumers portion is the added value being enjoyed. Get proper education.

Terrorist!

Do you know how weak you have to be to resort to cheap terrorist attacks as such?

They cannot defeat Russia on the battlefield or fight and win as men so this is all they can do.

How hard can it be?

All you have to do is pay a random fool to lace a scooter or school bag with bomb.

That's the height of cowardice.

Today the US is now known as the number one terrorist nation. Something rag tag militias resort to when they lack weapons or men to fight.

To be sponsored by who? The farmers or the govt on behalf of the farmers? The finally found a dirty stooge to help sneak in their amnesty. Fulani amnesty.

Animal husbandry is a legitimate business. Maybe we should use the opportunity of this motion, as we deal with this every time. We should use this opportunity to mandate the committee, especially now that the President has established a ministry to deal with livestock issues.

"Let us mandate them to interact with the executive and come up with a proposal for nationwide ranching. As a legitimate business, the Federal Government has to intervene and provide funding because these herdsmen are actually victims of the economic situation as well, carrying cattle from Sokoto State and trekking to Bayelsa, Lagos, and other states.

"The Senate Committee on National Security and the Senate Committee on Agriculture should interface with the executive arm, the newly established Ministry of Livestock, and the Ministry of Agriculture to develop a proposal for the Senate to consider regarding the establishment of modern ranches that are commercially viable and safe for both herders and locals across the country."
what a daft argument. Is chicken or pig or fish illegitimate? It is only in Nigeria where the govt puts the cows of one group above humans. It is easier to kill human and get away than kill a cow.

Bigger than Africa, indeed. In 2024, the Igbo tribe has reached unprecedented global heights, producing both Mr. International and Miss Universe in the same year—a feat no nation, past or present, has accomplished. Not the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Greece, the Soviet Union, nor the historic empires of Egypt, Persia, Rome, or Grecia have achieved such a remarkable milestone.

Adding to this extraordinary year, an Igbo woman has also been crowned the CAF Female Footballer of the Year, solidifying the tribe's place on the world stage.

The Igbos have not only risen—they have arrived.

What I noticed about us as a people is that we are so quick to talk about wrong and look away from the good. I am not a die hard follower of Oyedepo, I am even more of Abioye than Oyedepo but I don't allow sentiment to cloud my judgement, what this men of God are doing to help people around them is even far more than what your government are doing but biblically it is not right for them to publicise it, so many don't know, the member that you said he was complaining about the church not doing anything for him, there are welfare packages that are given out every month to both members and non members, there are free buses made available every Sunday for commuters. There is a yearly scholarship program for church members children every year, there are accommodation packages that this ministry gives out to people but you won't hear them talk about it, but always ready to point out what they are doing that seems wrong to them, same was actually said about Jesus, so no surprises, what you should be after is calling people to Christ and not using a social platform to talk about people's ills thereby turning some people away from God. The one that turned to babalawo only said his own side but did you hear from the church before arriving at your conclusion, a pastor that was disciplined due to financial mismanagement too will come out to say he was maltreated. I have been with Abioye from Durumi and Goshen and have also followed Oyedepo from afar, I know what is going on about the leadership of the church, retirement from the church doesn't mean you can leave permanently, you can still be serving, there is need for other pastors to grow, Bishop Abioye is too big to remain under Bishop Oyedepo, this is a way of God calling him to his own ministry, and he is going to do perfectly well cos he is just God filled. You don't need to talk ill of His servants before you can bring people to God. As evil as Saul became, David still said I cannot do any Harm to God's anointed when the opportunity to kill Saul presented itself. Their judgement is only in the hand of God and not in the hand of Man, all they require is our prayers.
You are trying to educate a deliberately mad fellow. The mumu expects the church to go against the words of jesus and publicize charity works just to appease to the demon controlling his life. To him, if they dont publicize it, it doesnt exist. From that alone you can tell he is a pleaser of men and not God or Jesus Christ.

The narrative of the OP for this thread was crafted to make it such that Abioye is only just coming out with message because his no longer shackled by Oyedepo. The mumu sees himself as Holinessmetre of some sort.

It's ironic you actually said the bolded when it perfectly applies to the likes of you ranting and arguing blindly on this thread about what I never said, but only preconceptions that exist in your imaginations, otherwise please show me one place I said they don't preach about salvation. Even churches of satanic agents also preach about salvation so stop being spiritually ignorant.

Moreover you actually proved me right that you are a hypocrite of the highest order, being totally blind to the glaring excesses of your beloved leader, including the injustice he perpetrated to the most loyal person in his entire ministry, so why are you here arguing with yourself as If I said you mentioned anything about his unjust retirement when I said you were totally blind to it.

If not that you're a completely blind follower as your fellow mammon's servant Codeťemplar, it should seriously concern you as more and more members of your church who were now sharing these same concerns, including David Abioye who is doing so albeit indirectly I strongly believe.

Btw see the screenshot of your former church member who used to follow one of the most devoted mammon servants in NL, Codétemplar, to come after me as you doing now when I was sharing the same concerns about David Oyedepo's misplaced priorities a few years back.

It's so nauseating to see the level at which so many of us reason on this forum these days. It seems many people now think that every opportunity is for starting a fight. So, we can't discuss anything in peace anymore?

Consider this example from yesterday (screenshot below):

There was the news that FEC had approved the 2025 budget. A part of the news says that the budget was prepared with a projection of ₦1,400/$.

Knowing that the dollar has been hovering between ₦1,500 and ₦1,700 during most of this year, I wondered why they're projecting ₦1,400 for 2025, knowing how such an unrealistic projection can affect the implementation of the budget.

I was hoping that people would engage intelligently with my question: Like telling me why FG projected the exchange rate. But, NO ONE DID.

Instead, the only response I got was someone telling me that "Pandora Criminal" will never be president😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣. What is the rational connection please?

I've been laughing my heart out tbh. And he got many people liking the post, lol! Most Nigerians now reason at the level of those two foolish goats who fell inside a river in a nursery school story as a result of a hateful mindset. They're destroying themselves but think they're destroying other people.
