See the problems these pastors are giving honest religious bodies? Which type of profit do mosques make that they will now start paying tax for? This falana is an idîot. He mentioned that the reason for starting tax payment is because pastors are buying private jets, why is he now involving imams and mosques in the matter? Imams do not buy private jets so they should not be made to suffer for the actions of pastors. If falana has a problem with those churches that buy jets then he should have dealt punishment to the churches and not to churches and mosques. Rubbish. |

Have interviews ended? Why are there no more interviews? |
timbros: Why are u blaming him for believing what he saw on the internet? There are some bonuses going on that networks dont need to advertise b4 u get them. E.g etisalat gives 260mb instead of 200mb if u suscribe with 1k...the 60mb is just a bonus but if u check their website, there is nothing like that stated. Please how does this loading 1000 and getting 260MB thing work? |

okeyxyz: Truth is: There is no right/wrong without authority. Yes! "Might is Right" It is by this might that you enforce laws and provide protection for the weak, and by this might you determine what any member of the society is entitled to. So, you wanna know what you deserve? Then Find out what the prevailing authority provides you.1 Does any authority actually have the right to decide what an entire population of people deserve? 2. The prevailing authority is bound to be deficient in one way or another when deciding what the generality of the populace should adopt as laws/rights. If we know what the deficient/inappropriate laws are, are we allowed to ignore them and do what we like instead? For instance in Saudi Arabia where women can't drive. |
Depends on how closely we examine the whole thing
How can we possibly get closer after getting to the cellular levels? |
Maybe we have value and meaning.
If we examine the whole thing closely, we would probably find that it all simply boils down to cerebral functions with nothing fancy about it. |
Pastor AIO: What is the connection between Rights and Righteousness?I think this is the question OP asked. Pastor AIO: Why do we feel affronted by people earning more than they 'deserve'? Or by people NOT getting what they deserve?Firstly, our cognitive processes and learning experiences lead us to decide on what the things people should deserve or not deserve. Empathy plays a role in our feeling concerned about these things and empathic feelings are rooted in neurological processes that activate the part of neuronal network which produces the same or similar state (of those we feel empathy for) in ourselves and these neuronal processes are believed to have been evolved due to the need for cooperative provision and the need for parents to care for their children. Pastor AIO: Why can't we just look at life and say, 'well that's the way the cookie crumbles, live with it'?We will not be able to improve our lives or solve the problems we have in them when we just accept things the way they are and don't attempt to improve them. Again, our learning experiences and cognitive processes are what help us decide what we should consider to be injustices, travesties, inequalities etc. |
I am not saying we don't deserve any rights, I was just thinking what exactly are those rights and why do we deserve them? In a general sense, if asked to mention what some of those rights we might say: 1 We are entitled to equal treatment as long as we do not infringe on another's rights. 2. We are entitled to live safely and be our own person with our own possesions. 3. We are entitled to freedom of expression, But are we are entitled to deserve anything at all? Don't you have to do something to deserve entitlement? When considering our soceital rights, we find that they are something of an externally imposed doctrine composed by people who society deems fit to decide what our rights should be. Furthermore, by what authority is divined the capacity for one to tell another what is suitable for them? Do we deserve any rights? Why do we deserve them? |
^^^Ok, I've heard you. @ijawkid, please don't forget the explanation. |
ijawkid: That shuld mean we all in nigeria are all mentally ill if depression is synonymous to mental illness......Are you sure? Why does your bible say nothing about those that are not in their senses instead of leaving you to guess? And as for the bolded part; Oh please. I can bring verses out of the bible that puts that your statement into question. For instance in 2Samuel 12:11 to 14, the bible says that God punished David by causing his wives to be raped in public by his neighbours because he/David coveted another mans wife. Another verse in Exodus talks about how God will visit the iniquity of the fathers upon their unborn children uptill the fourth generation. Can you beat that? Punishing unborn generations for something the father did. There is also the eternal punishment in hell you fellas usually predict for non-Christians. How can a person who lived for instance, 80 or 90 years, be punished for eternity simply for failing to be a Christian? How is that justice? If your God can do these things then what makes you think he cannot punish insane people for their crimes? |
ijawkid: So we are back to d same place..Where did you ask that question before? If you didn't know what depression is you should have checked instead of asking me for lessons. Both depression and madness are psychiatric disorders/mental illnesses. What next? |
ijawkid: And please update me on what d doctors have to say about his mental state.....what caused it...and let's find out if he was depressed(as u say) or just a silly kid wanting to practice what he watches on tv........I didn't say he was depressed. I said it is possible he suffered from it. And please avail yourself of the internet to know updates about the case. Sorry, but I can't come back to do that. toba: ignorance is not an excuse. IF i resigned my appointment cos im having issues with my boss or cos a misunderstanding at work, then i should take responsibility for being overzealous. A case of an insane person is different from that of a frustrated fellow ![]() |
Okay. Then you're bi. Still not judging. |
You're gay. . . . I'm not judging you though. |
ijawkid: Ok let me ask u this lil question..What the fvck does a 'mad insane' person mean? Ok. Unconscious. :/ ijawkid: Is a depressed ¶erson a mentally deranged person??It is very possible that James Holmes suffered from depression. There is something called manic depression. ijawkid: Can a depressed person walk around naked on d road??(The nigerian scenario)Ijawkid, I don't think you know what depression means. . . . . . ijawkid: In this scenario we are talking about persons who have gone loko....Please next time read extensively on depression before you attempt to list the things depressed people can or cannot do. |
wiegraf: I really want specifics, like if I convert my daughters do I get extra virgins and maybe some traps?.You like traps? |
ijawkid: Hey fellas I'm back..I didn't run away,..Nice. Hope you enjoyed yourself. I also love solving some Stroud Mathematics in my free time. ijawkid: Like I said and like toba has said...Again. No Bible verse to back your speech up. Just say you're guessing man, don't make it seem like you're 100% sure of what you think would happen. Those who are not considered clinically insane still suffer temporary fits of madness. Even depressed people are considered to have a mental illness. Are you saying people won't be punished for what wrong they did when they were depressed? |
ijawkid: if the man while committing that act wasn't sane why would a God of mercy and compassion not pardon his errors??Dude relax, I never said I took God to be irrational. The only reference to your Bible you posted to back up your claim came from the Old Testament that was supposed to have passed away with the coming of Christ. It also fails to say anything about the fate of insane people which is what the topic is supposed to be about. |
InesQor: They who do the will of the Father in Heaven will enter HeavenFirstly, thank you for quoting New Testament verses. I would have disregarded your verses if they had been from the Old Testament. Ok, so the part about God's will being different for each of us means that the requirements for each and everyone of us would be different right? Because everyone has different capabilities, mental/intellectual, physical etc. So what is expected from me to make heaven would be different from what is expected from another person/different person, with different thought processes and life experiences? InesQor: When a man is insane, God knows how he became insane and HOW insane he really is; what kinds of distinctions he can still make.Really? So insane people will actually be held accountable for their actions? InesQor: Can an insane man be said to refuse to obey God, or to refuse to know God?Not quite. So what you wrote about considering what other distinction they can make doesn't hold water. If he is unable to know God or unable to obey Him due to insanity then there is no point in considering what other distinctions he can make with regards to religion. InesQor: There are actually various depths of insanity. So, some may and some may not. This is why I said this discussion is at best, merely speculative.I agree. |
toba: first ques= probably based on my thinkingI don't think those that commit suicide are in a 'cognitive state'. I mean, if a person decides to kill herself/himself because they are facing problems instead of looking for how to solve those problems you cannot exactly say that there is nothing wrong with their thinking faculties. Just mentioning it because Christians tend to be quick to condemn those that commit suicide to hell. |
toba: may be they would if they are conscious. A contract signed under duress or influence of alcohol(being unconscious) is voidableOk. So they will not be held accountable is what you're saying. Can you tell me why those that commit suicide are condemned to hell? |
InesQor: @Cogent:Thanks. Can you tell me what is said about those that would most assuredly be in heaven and hell? |
Ptolomeus: I said seriously.Google translate doesn't really translate your posts. Hope you know that. Ptolomeus: Ijawkid return, if not, is simply not interested in the thread, or because he realized that his defense has no answer. This was the only part I understood. |
toba: an insane fellow has lost consciousness hence he/she may nt be able to differentiate btw god and evil, therefore his/her may be an exception. So are you saying they will not be held accountable for their actions? |
InesQor: God will do what is right.Fine, you cannot definitely tell where a person will go in the next life but there should be some kind of indicator of whether you would end up in hell or heaven. Isn't there a description in the Bible about those that will go to heaven and those that will go to hell? InesQor: Rather, we should encourage people (who are capable of understanding, and not insane) to live right, and we leave the rest to God.But I wasn't talking about sane people. . . . InesQor: Since I'm not the madman in question, I don't see why I need to bother about this issue. You don't have to be the madman to be curious about something like this, it is something worth pondering upon. Or does the Bible say nothing about something like this? Because if there is no information in the Bible about this you can also tell me that. |
Ptolemeus, please be gentle with your answers. I don't want Christians to be scared away from this thread because of harsh words. Maybe that's what prevented Ijawkid from coming back. Christians, please I am still waiting for an answer. Thanks! |
Keep quiet there. Christianity was also like that before. |
Ijawkid, are you saying that he is going to heaven? |
