In Nigeria these things if they ever take off will eventually fall off the skies and kill folks in it and below it because there is no maintenance culture
People will be stuck and suspended in the air

Bad bad idea for Nigeria

What happened to the rail system?
Speed rail
Has that ever happened in Brazil that you quoted initially?

Why not give this a chance too? Or do you think the project manager wouldn't be working on the concerns you raised?

If it can work in Brazil, it will work in Lagos.

In USA '94, the goal post fell off. May be you were not old enough to know what was going on then in international football like you claimed. I think it was a mathc that involved Bulgaria and one other country.
SportsRe: Egyptian Referee Still Working At AFCON by CohenJane: 9:57pm On Jan 31, 2013
pek: Anyone who believed that story either doesnt know anything about football or is not living in the modern times. 1. When a referee is sent home from a competition for any reason, the official website for the competition is the first to break the news. When i heard the news, I went to CAF website but nothing of such. Same with BBC. 2. CAF president cannot make the decision to send any referee home. It is not his place. It is the referees' committee that can do that. 3. CAF and FIFA does not have dealings with sports ministers. It is the country's FA. 4. The referee's performance was not bad, he only got a call wrong. It was down to human error and nothing else.
You make sense. You are the John Mastourodes of our time.

EducationOur Graduates To Receive UNILAG Certificate – VC by CohenJane(op): 10:07pm On Jan 29, 2013
AS the University of Lagos (UNILAG) prepares for its Golden Jubilee convocation, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Rahaman Bello, has said “all certificates will bear the name University of Lagos,” adding that the graduates would receive UNILAG certificate.

“I have it in authority in black and white from the Federal Ministry of Education that until an amendment in the act of establishing a university is done, the name change cannot be effected,” the vice chancellor said.

While addressing a world media conference to kick start the convocation ceremony on Monday, Professor Bello said “as far as we are concerned today, we are UNILAG and we will hopefully remain so.”

The VC added that President Goodluck Jonathan had said he would allow the law to take its course, noting that the National Assembly was in support of the university regarding the name change issue.

Regarding the rumours surrounding the postponement of the convocation date and pre-convocation press conference, Bello said the convocation dates in the newspapers was never announced by UNILAG, adding that the only date ever officially announced by the university was February 6, 7 and 8.

He, however added that the institution did not meet up with the minimum of eight weeks’ notice required to give the visitor, President Jonathan, to the convocation.

The vice chancellor also said the institution would be graduating 91 first class students.

According to him, the three best graduating students and best doctoral candidate were women.

“A total of 6,932 students will be graduating during the upcoming convocation,” Bello said.

You took a rubbish team and a clueless coach to the competition, yet you want to blame the referees, no?? The officiating has been rubbish, no doubt - however, you can't blame no one for your mediocrity...

Just imagine a Nigerian team with the two bulls(Emenike and Anichebe) upfront, Victor Moses and Odemwingie on the wings, Obafemi Martins on the bench, Joel Obi playing alongside Mikel Obi in the midfield, Taye Taiwo at left back, and the young Chelsea lad on loan to a Dutch Eredivisie team at the back.. That's the team!!

However, you took strong-faced and heavy uncles to the tournament, yet you want good results smh...

Your team is rubbish, end of story!! undecided undecided

jude33084: So in your school of thought even the foul was not commited inside the box it, penalty should be given to compensate Zambia? Haba!
No, not my school of thought. It is something I have been observing for long in the game of football. Referees always find a way of compensating for their earlier errors, provided it wasn't intentional. Recall I said our own PK too was not a good call according to the friend who watched it.

Okiki Oluwa: Yes, the penarity against Zambia was not a penalty
SportsRe: NFF Protests Fraudulent Refereeing Against Nigeria by CohenJane: 12:44pm On Jan 27, 2013
DSTV service was epileptic like NEPA during the proceedings of the game. I can say I only watched about 45% of the playing time. Most worrisome is that I have not seen that issue being brought up on this forum. This makes me to conclude that may be it was my decoder that has the problem after-all. So, I didn't see what led to our own penalty kick which mikel lost. However, a friend who watched what led to our own PK confirmed to me that our own PK too does not deserve being given. i could remember telling a friend before the end of the match (even before I heard from my friend) that if our penalty was questionable, the referee is going to compensate Zambia too, and this I think was what happened. The call may not have actually been a PK but we were both given the chances (in error though) and while one took his own, the other lost his.

crackhaus: OBADIAH777, I beg to differ on this your opinion. During that period(50's and 60's), Nigeria as a geographical entity commanded a ton of respect from international on-lookers and I guess this is the reason why Tafawa Balewa got such a welcome. Nigerians were never considered as less in the eyes of America until it became clear to them that we as a nation could no longer fend for its citizens even while the political elite lived in extravagance. Most, if not all, of Nigerians who travelled to the west in the 50's & 60's were learned men & women who sought to enrish their knowledge unlike today where majority of nigerians only seek greener pastures in the US so they can come back home to show-off the new car/house they acquired washing the white man's dishes.
I mean, check out you tube videos where journalists interview nigerian head of states from Babaginda to Obasanjo to Jonathan and then we can notice the condescending tone with which they interview Nigerian figures.
The question now is, was it always so? Absolutely not. Our leaders are responsible for degrading and belittling our soverignty and it will remain so for as long as things remain as they are in our country. I can't imaginge Isha sesay or Amanpour interviewing Obama or Cameron or even that north Korean guy the way they did Jonathan, its so phucking demoralizing at the least.
At the boldened. Honestly, you are the first person that will be making reference to that part of the video. I was wondering too that can any of these leaders you mentioned above be interviewed in such manner CNN interviewed our own GEJ? You can't imagine that was a president being interviewed. SportsRe: Keshi Is Satisfied With Result Against Zambia by CohenJane: 8:05am On Jan 26, 2013
pedestal82: Keshi shld shut the F up, he placed us in this situation by his selection dicisions from the start of this tournament. Why do I say so ? Our defence! Efe Ambrose is a Central defender, he played him as a 2, that was how he got a red card, Yobo was supposed to be on the bench, efe pairing up with oboabuna, and omeruo playing the right back position. This sentimental selection, in the first match spilled into the second match because that's the reason why Onazi had to come and play, the right back position, with Efe serving the match ban. Onazi out of position gives away a penalty, wrong decision or not. Keshi is to be blamed! In the first game, if he must play yobo, then omerue shld have played his natural right back position, and efe ambrose on the bench.
So, what's the NFF (abi na NFA) waiting for, why not hire this guy to be Keshi's assistant? Guy, you be real super eagles fan, with the way you are reeling out their names and positions, it seems you know them very well. Walahi, I no know pass mikel, yobo and enyeanma ... who else?

People talk as if setting up someone for a goal is something out of this world. If he plays in the heart of the team, the central mildfield, what else would have been his job if not to set up his strikers for goal. do you know how many times xavi and iniesta have set up messi for goals, why haven't they won the world best? that line you are quoting is becoming irritating.
