So you also dont know that the licence was returned to them to operate.

Yes, I am aware that it was returned to them. The point is, was it SLS or his policy that put them in this position?

Savannah Bank shouldn't have come up in his arguiment ... it's a world apart.

By the way, I hope you are not reffering to me as a fool? I didn't bring up any issue to warrant that you know, and I will take offence at it.
Politics / Re: Is Sanusi Still Better Than Soludo? by CohenJane: 9:54pm On Dec 13, 2012
kITA TITA: Professor Soludo has a rich résumé. He has also consulted for leading organizations in the world. Unfortunately he allowed overt ambition fueled by selfish political pursuits to destroy all that.

Meanwhile Mallam Sanusi is making name for himsel by saying it the way he sees it. Those condemning Islamic Banking should realize that the Bible says we shouldn't lend for usury. Sanusi is also not afraid of releasing surplus workforce. Corporate organizations and governments are not Salvation Army. Our work attitude is poor because we expect to be spoonfed. China and the Asian Tigers didn't develope like that.

I agree with you at the boldened

Even Access bank if I'm correct was involved in a dirty deal with Mr. Cosmas Maduka and Ifeanyi Uba.

Abeg, let's leave all that shady matter, even in the U.S., it common norm, you can never weed out shady deals in banks.

Yes Soludo did not reinforce regulation like it should,

Was it not last week that Savannah and another bank almost declared bankruptcy, asking CBN for a N20 or N200 billion injection of another cash?

Your argument are not coherent. It smells of tribalism.

I took interest in it initially not untill you came up with the Savannah bank thing. You mean, SLS should be blamed for Savannah going backrupt?

By that statement, I guess you should be under 21 years old. So, you don't know the history of Savvanah bank

Politics / Re: PHOTOS- Okada Riders Protest In Lagos by CohenJane: 7:00am On Dec 13, 2012
trainingict: Naija,

The protest is a wastage of time and energy. The people are just dancing on the magnanimity of the traditional people of Lagos and of the region. This comes to mind the issue of national conference and federalism. Most of those behind this protest are from states outside Lagos or the region. Okadas are even banned in some of those states. Mind you, I am being affected greatly by the ban, but that does not becloud my sense of judgement. Laws in a federating state differ from another state in U.S.A. It is either you abide or move out of the state.

I know, it is economic hardship that led many people into this job for survival despite the risk involved. I salute their courage. We are in December, everybody is preparing for Xmas and new year celebration with their kids for those that are married. This period is the worst period for a jobless man. Other people are in festive mood, a jobless family man is in a sorrowful mood.

Having said this, this is a Nigeria problem and not Lagos state problem. The bull should be held by the horn by the Okada riders. Okada was banned in Abuja log time ago. I remembered how the okada riders were treated like animals that time.I was living in Abuja as at that time. People use population of Lagos as a criterion, that is not an excuse. Federal Government does not recognize that population, despite the last census figure which does not even represent the true population of Lagos. The population imposes pressure on Lagos facilities and amenities, yet, the federal government has not increased the number of Local government in Lagos to 44 as it is in Kano thereby increasing local government allocation to Lagos from federation account.

The best place to carry out protest is at the gate of National Assembly in Abuja or Three arms zone area for the politicians to know what poverty has done to Nigerians. When those making policy are in a clean and quiet hotels or accommodation and you are in Lagos adding to the tension on the ground, they are not concerned.

Most of those people in the protest are not fighting for the interest of Lagos, they are only interested in what they get out of Lagos. They are busy lobbying for the creation of more states or more local government for their region or states. They are fighting for increase in derivation or total resource control etc. None of them ever championed Lagos cause. In some states, okadas were banned, nobody has taken their governors to court. They said Lagos is different. What is different about Lagos? In governors forum, Fashola is like any other governor, and Lagos is a state like any other state. If Amaechi, Okorocha and others can ban okada, Fashola can do the same as well, especially if is for the good of the state. Okada should petition Lagos House of Assembly. They cannot do that because lagos house members are after the good of Lagos. A(ny) minister or anybody in Abuja without Lagos interest may ( or should)come up with federal road theory that was not considered when Okada was banned in Abuja with federal roads.

I like that bolded part

My comments has not in any way generalise issues. In anyway, I apologise if I have sounded that way. But that does not still floor my argument. I think the grouse here is that it shouldn't be generalised Once again, I apologise.

Mass Communication can't teach English? Hmmmmm

This burtress what l said that studying Engineering does not mean the person should be able to teach further maths.

Not even those that studied mathematics can teach it effectively ... it takes those that studied maths education to be able to teach it effectively. it includes class room management and all that.
NYSC / Re: Corpers Cause Mass Failure In Schools - Teachers Council by CohenJane: 10:16pm On Dec 11, 2012
solomon111: Any graduate Engineer that can't teach further-mathematics is a fraud.

This is not true. In maths, we call this type of argument necessary but not sufficient. It may be necessary for an Engineer to know Further Maths, but not sufficient to teach it, they are two different things entirely.

The fact that you know something may not be a sufficient and neccessary ground for you to be able to teach it.

People that teaches further maths are those that studied Maths Education

I cant believe this is happening. Someone should wake me up from this dream. Can a Govt be so inhumane to its citizenry just because of money to be made?

The traffic has worsened in Ajah area, more than what it used to be before this construction started.

I wish we can emulate Egypt.

Politics / Re: Federal Character Breeds Mediocrity - Sanusi by CohenJane: 3:07am On Dec 07, 2012
Yujin: While I'm in agreement with SLS on the retrogressive impact of Federal Character on the development of this empire, I clearly see the hidden message. Why cite the additional state request of the South East in your analysis when you know that Federal Character WILL NEVER be stopped in this Nigeria with the present political set up? He's subtly saying it shouldn't be created because an additional ministry would have to be created for the new state. In his quest to manage the expenses of the FG, I think the excess LGA's in the north should be collapsed and the money channeled into better use than increasing the unemployment rate by retrenching 50% of civil servants.
SLS is damn smart.

But he also cited his state as an example, didn't he?

Dis is the panacea 4another Civil War in Nigeria. How can a Hausa man use d quota or slot of a south-south state 2get into d federal civil service, armed forces or d paramilitary- just in d name of residing in the south-south? Or a Hausa man wanting to become a councilor or LGA Chairman in a south-south state ? Dis simply reminds me of d recurrent Birom-Hausa/Fulani crisis of Jos-city.

but south-south, and south-east men and women are becoming councillors and LG chairmen, and even commissioners in south-west, lagos in particular. does that mean we don't know what we are doing in the south west?

Prof Corruption: We have been inviting the Minister of Finance over the problems of police pension. She has been holding the police pension and several police pensioners have died due to non-payment despite the fact that the National Assembly appropriated money in the 2012 fiscal year.

is due process not part of going to NASS and explain why this money has not been released despite appropriation?

You see, some people just make comments be blinded by ethnic or religious affiliation. Thank you for your response to the second idiotic post above.

Which one do you want him to quote before? or what's his business with private school? Is it government that should be funding private school again?
