It's not the language that makes iceland names end with son: check out their first names, they all end differently. Siggurdur, Magnus, Ragnar, Gyfil, etc etc. It is the surnames that end with son because there is a naming rule to state each person as a son of a father. Hence, Gudjohnson, Siggurdson, etc.

How to do it right?
