but do you know tracker can be disengaged?
Crossroad1 please we await your response, what can be done to prevent the thieves from disengaging the tracker?

They can't query him for not having a tracker, it's his choice, afterall they are not paying for the tracker.

oyejideogunjumo:
If he gets his car back, he forget about the claim.
Besides claims may take long before it is paid.
Don't you know insurance processes ?
Even if it your personal savings you don't get it like that not to talk of indemnity.
He pays I think 10% of the total cost initially and certain amount again later.
I can't just vividly remember again.
They will query him even for not having tracker can be used against him.
Insurance is easy to enter , to get out is not that easy.
May God let him see the car back

bobbiiee:
1) I advise people to get fuel demobilizer, usually called fuel cut, or 5 minutes by most auto-electricians or rewires. It is hidden. It has a small knob, if the knob is not pressed, the car won't start. The installation cost 5k. If the car is opened, and the knob is not pressed again, it will go off after 5 minutes.
Please whats the cost of this knob and can it be gotten from Ladipo?

bobbiiee:
4) I do comprehensive insurance. I engaged an insurance broker. Most people that do comprehensive insurance get short-paid because the companies have grey areas that the insured are ignorant of. The broker gets paid a commission out of the money paid for the insurance. You don't pay them directly.
At the bolded, please can you expatiate on some of these grey areas.

Car TalkRe: Help!!! My Toyota Camry Was Stolen Where It Was Parked by Coketols: 8:49am On Sep 30, 2021
Imagine if the car was taken to Ladipo and dismembered into pieces to be sold as spare parts, then of what use will the tracker be.

Tracker is good but comprehensive insurance is better, or if you can afford it, do both.

okoroemeka:
if they have advanced transmitter detector which I doubt this petty crooks will have,it will be difficult finding a tracker size of half a matchbox in a car,the car owner will not even know the tracker is hidden,a tracker is a good insurance policy this days, last month I was at my Friend's joint and policemen tracked a Toyota Highlander from Lagos to anambra and arrested the crooks at the joint, were they are enjoying chilled beers and pepper soup with their babes.imagine if the car has no tracker it can never be seen again.
Car TalkRe: Help!!! My Toyota Camry Was Stolen Where It Was Parked by Coketols: 8:39am On Sep 30, 2021
There is no justifiable reason to explain that parking the car outside Is the cause of the theft.

If the insurance company plays this card, all he needs is a good lawyer to counter them.

Bonjovi13:
I hope you did not reveal that you parked the car outside your compound.
Could give them grounds to refuse or reduce your claim
Car TalkRe: Help!!! My Toyota Camry Was Stolen Where It Was Parked by Coketols: 8:25am On Sep 30, 2021
Didn't you see where he mentioned insurance which is better than tracker any day anytime.

mrksquare:
But na WA for you oh. You get this fine car na only pedal lock you take protect am. Whereas car tracker is even less than 70k.

This has to be the most enlightening thread on AIRBAG repairs.

Piyke, please I have AIRBAG lights showing on my dashboard cluster in my Honda Civic 09.
It was accidented too upon purchase as tokunbo and the light has been there since I got it.

Please I need your inputs on how I can restore the airbags to factory settings.

Thanks

Piyke:
I got this car via auction with steering wheel airbag deployment.

I have successfully restored SRS to factory state, and the airbag/SRS light is now off.

More updates...

The guy should just climb that iron and lose the tyre, it's better for him. Clean tokunbo tyre is 8k in ladipo

These evil people will milk him dry.

Please I'm looking forward to a response on this from the experienced drivers in our midst.

Coketols:
Please what's the code for cancellation on Bolt, sometimes it's not just possible for a driver to make a trip and must by all means, cancel it.

Please what's the best way to do it when the rider refuses to cancel and it is imperative that you do it yourself, especially when you are trying not to miss out of a commission or incure any penalty from bolt.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Coketols: 8:45pm On Sep 16, 2021
Yes, their calculation looks sketchy sometimes.

Please what's that BOOKING FEES about, I am only aware or the 20% deduction and don't understand what the other one is about?

tunlapapa:
Bolt is just a dubious company, and this is the more reason they make the calculations not to be clear enough for anyone.
You wouldn't have known if you did more trips.
This means they are charging about 23%.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Coketols: 11:32am On Sep 16, 2021
I don't use them, but there are a couple of affordable ones on Jumia.
Just search for the ones with at least 4.0 stars and many good reviews from those who purchased it, then proceed to make your order.

IFSHR:
Can you recommend a good one based on usage experience ?

Felicity001:
That's the only code for cancellation on indriver. Whatever the case may be you must wait at a spot for 5min before being allowed to cancel with "rider didn't show up" else it will tell you "you've move away from the pickup point. So each change of location you do you'll have to wait for another 5 minutes before cancelling.

BOLT.
Yesterday I set location to Ikeja from VI, and waited for almost one hour, no show!
I just ignored it and drove home without any trip.

Uber or bolt? Plus depends on the area you are setting from. It works for me everyday.

Please does this set destination function really work, can anyone attest to it's efficiency.
I have tried it several times but it never works, I always set to Victoria Island in the mornings but it never finds a rider for me from the mainland.

Gudvibes06:
Thanks to everyone on this thread I really appreciate your kindness, yes waited for the rider for more than 2 hours but at the end I don't think I'll ever do that again, she came out and changed the destination and we left at the end of the rip her fare was 6,300 and tipped with 3000 which was very annoying cos I could not do more than one trip afterwards I was coming to mainland Uber refused to let me set destination and all the trip I was getting within lekki which I can't take cos of it's was around 9:30 already and I need to get off the road b4 12am to avoid police wahala so I had to come all the way from ologolo to abule egba empty but I thank God with her 3k tip I was able to net 17k bought fuel of 4k, I opened the app around 10am and got home 11pm. I know I can be better. Thanks to you all for your love may God bless our hustle.

Bolt accepted the form today, thank you.

Bro, wait till your plastic ID is ready, the jtb form is for law enforcement agents, the card is the valid ID, you can't use the form to process anything important.

So can you tell Bolt that you cancelled the trip due to a riders low rating, please is it a valid reason, and will Bolt accept such?

Felicity001:
For me anything below 4.0 is bad.

Same way Bolt considers 4.25 bad for drivers and get such drivers blocked to their system is same way I personally blacklist riders with rating below 4.0. Non have proven me wrong.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Coketols: 2:41pm On Sep 11, 2021
My JTB Form was accepted this morning. Thanks

Pearl1910:
JTB form is not accepted as a form of drivers licence on Bolt or Uber until u have been captured and issued the temporary or permanent one.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Coketols: 2:50pm On Sep 10, 2021
Please are there any issues if you cancelled from your end, will bolt sanction/ block you. Why does it always have to be the rider to cancel the trip.

Kindly enlighten me.

Pearl1910:
Got a request from Ketu Alapere to Ikorodu one day, I called the guy and told him I can't go that way. Guy said okay cancel, I said okay, then I slide arrive waiting for 3mins countdown. The guy called me back and said shebi I said I can't go, I should cancel na, why did I say I have arrived. I told him I can't cancel immediately, if he is in a hurry he can as well cancel it. Baba say if I don't cancel it immediately he will report that I requested offline and Bolt will block me. He sounded like a driver too cos only drivers and staff know these things. I told him if he does that God will punish him and anything he is looking for in this life he will never get it grin baba purse first, then I cut the call. Waited for my 3mins countdown then I cancelled.
Demons in form of human beings plenty for town o both female and male. What will be their gain if a driver gets blocked...and for a lie for that matter.

Please I need help, I have been trying to sign up as a new driver all week, and one Uche from bolt has kept on declining my documents.

My plastic drivers license is not ready so I've been using the JTB form temporarily, but Bolt has continued to reject the document, 3 times now.

I called them and they said I should upload it again, and it was still rejected few hours later. huh

Please is this how difficult it is for a new driver to sign up on BOLT?
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Coketols: 5:59pm On Sep 09, 2021
Please can you expatiate on this, isn't 5.0 rating a good one which depicts that the rider is a good person without issues?

chillex8:
Also, there are more armed robbers and killers as riders on bolt than any other app.

Then, avoid 5.0 rated riders at night.
Personally, i don't even pick 5.0 rated riders in the daytime no matter the surge multiplier.

I got a sworn affidavit for loss of tinted permit certificate and a letter from the office of the area commander for Area F, Ikeja.
I was told these documents can suffice as tinted permits.

Please is it tenable to avoid police harassment for my tinted glasses?

Crvrider:
The last i checked they don't even issue out to factory fitted cars for now. A vio officer called someone in obalende on my behalf, the lady stated that for now no issuance of tinted permit is on going at the moment except issuance of a certain certificate in lieu of the permit.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Coketols: 9:09pm On Sep 03, 2021
Thank you IFSHR, this really clarifies.

This destination trip will turn out to be a very viable tool for me.

Please I would like to know if it also considers the pick up location, for example if I set destination trip for V.I in the morning, i hope it will still profer pick up locations that are still close to my house?

IFSHR:
Destination trips as the name implies mean when activated...you will only get trips towards the set destination. For example, if you work in Victoria Island....you can set your destination to Victoria Island using the app ...meaning you will only get request of trips heading to Victoria Island or any where closer to Victoria Island, like ikoyi, obalende, Lagos Island as you prepare to drive out in the morning

Same applies when you close as well ...from the island set your app to a place in mainland.....for mainland ensure your are specific e.g ojodu Berger, Lagos mainland, bariga, etc.. so that you can get a trip towards the indicated areas....

Bolt allows you to set your destination twice in a day, you can use it anytime of the day, but since your plan is just two trips in a day that where I said morning and evening.

You will understand better when you undergo the online training.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Coketols: 8:23pm On Sep 03, 2021
Thank you Sir, but please how do you mean by bolt gives two destination trip, so you will use one in the morning and the other when returning..

Because my plan is to find a rider close to my house that is going to VI in the morning, so I drop the person off then go to my office.
At evening, I will find a rider in VI that is going to the mainland, or anywhere along my route home, then drop the person off and go home.

This is the plan, just 2 trips per day.

The major reason for my decission is to make little income that can sustain the upkeep of my car, asides the income i get from my 9-5 job.
A car is a depreciating asset, as it losses value daily due to wear and tear, so I need to turn it into an asset, and generate income that can be used to maintain it and keep it in perfect condition.

IFSHR:
This was actually what brought about the idea of ride sharing. I will advise you register with bolt only as it fits your objectives.....bolt gives two destination trip, so you will use one in the morning and the other when returning.

Since it's mainland -island trip it should cover your fuel expenses.. even when you set destination you can still filter trip to ensure you get one closer to your final destination (home).

Bolt have no issues with how many trips you take per day.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Coketols: 7:12pm On Sep 03, 2021
I am contemplating using my Car for Bolt/ Uber, a Honda Civic 09.
I live on the mainland and work on the island, so I always drive to and from work alone on weekdays.

I would like to start Bolt/ Uber as a side hustle, that is, just 2 trips per weekday (no weekend trips), one in the morning when going to work and one in the evening when coming back from work. I will look for riders going close to my location to avoid stress.

Please I would like to know if the money raised from at least 6 weekday trips per week is sufficient to fuel my car and take care of other minor repairs.
Also, will BOLT/UBER permit me to do this, as I'm not into it full time and I will be having a low volume of trips on a weekly basis.

Your contributions will be very welcome, thanks
