No,the tiller has to do his job first, so long as the door frame has been installed, you know the doors can be amended by reducing it heights or anything should incase.

Did you think about the toilet and kitchen entrance at all...... and the case where bricklayer will do some work........let him fix the door first

I have a question please. I have bought my internal doors but POP is still going on. There is some leak in the roof that's delaying them at the top floor. So while waiting for that, we decided they should install the internal doors, but the tile person said it's better to do the tiling first before installing internal doors. Note, the doors are WATSON doors.
I asked some people and they said it better to put the doors first.
Please which is best to do first and why?

You have to install that door first because of not breaking anything after the tiles might have occupy the space for doors..... don't mind the tiler.....install the door and let them do the finishing of the door first before he starts work.......it will save you extra cleaning services too if bricklayer want to suck the door on already tiles place.... cement on tiles is not easy to clean

How office tiles got changed without top management hand in it...... Because doing maintenance work in federal level comes with stages where everything have to be submitted to work and infrastructure commissions or something..... And the maintenance used to be general in the place.... Many people are involved in that shit..... And also going to see a CMD in a hospital are always in appointments..... No be only him play that game....

Marble is more cost than south African bricks and prices varies for the two depending on the design/quality you will like to buy..... Marble is also beautiful and luxurious looking on pillars than SA bricks

If an independent contractor presents themselves as an expert, they should not need supervision. If the client could do it himself/herself, they would not have hired him in the first place. How can you pay a professional and still be expected to supervise him?

If a trades person needs supervision, they shouldn’t be out there taking work that they are not competent to do. Instead, they should be working under a supervisor aka Oga.

You're equating good pay to good job! It's not always like that, atleast in my own project. I have paid premium as labour and i got a very poor job, and sometimes i believe i pay a little below standard/basic and i got a decent job... You see at a time in my project, i just dont expect much from you guys anymore, after every deliverables, i just quickly want to MOVE ON!!! I will be doing my tiles in a couple of weeks and am looking within 400-500 N/mtr.. I will never pay above that, even if na you fix aso rock tiles.. The reason is simple, it does not guarantee a good job... I have said it on this platform before, artisans dont get punish for a bad job and they KNOW that.. For example, if i pay you 1500 for a tiling job and you do a bad job, what happen? Will i get a refund? Not likely! What we get is oga no vex sir, and thats all. You cant arrest someone that did a bad tiling job, he has not stolen it.. You can only delete his contact and how does that compensate for his bad job!

I did 400/m last month, cumulative of 650k for the young man and his apprentices. I've had someone inspected his work and they said he did a good job. Not aware if he used the complete tools. What I'm aware of is that we are both happy.
Behind those beautiful skyscrapers in Dubai are artisans from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. They are quite good in what they do and they are quite affordable too. To some people, those workers are seen as cheap labors but when you meet the workers in person, you'll be amazed on how happy they are, and how they are forever grateful to the govt of UAE for the opportunity.

I won't offer Champagne to a maltina guest. I'm an evidence-based person. I'll gladly offer premium to a certified engineer/builder handling my job. At least, he has paid his dues academically and professionally. "I'm not cheap" no be by tools alone.

Don't compare artisan in Dubai to artisan in naija

I have met a client that shows me about 10 quotations…. I told him there is no point giving you my qoutation cos you can’t give the job to me I advise him to be careful not the give the wrong person the job. Cos he is comparing the price. I was suprise he called me after a year to come and finish the job. I refused he begged me till I agreed giving it to one of my boy to rectify all the errors. There are many professional artisans and there are more quack artisans too

Many people dey like that and it's common among engineers.........you will see some engineer self......there work planning poor die, that's why they spend double of the money they are supposed to spend...... why engineer go let tiler work for where bricklayer never plaster door frame or never put door self.....all those small small things na wetin dey make work no neat.......or you go see where dem don all tiling work finish and pop never work......last last dem go dey cast pop on top tiles.......many many things are supposed to be put in place to get neat and perfect work

its k ok its God that will help us in Nigeria, bringing out your time to do a great work isn’t the problem, the problem is that is the client ready to pay, some clients are ready to go for lower prices, in my field I charge you base on the design you want, but unfortunately you will see someone that will charge lesser, but the client won’t consider weather he will give him what he want, what do you expect from a client that has about 10 different quotations, I guess he is going for a lower price without thinking of the quality

I don see person wey show me quotation of 15square meters room for #2500 workmanship with half bag of cement to do it

Omoh i told the man straight up that he's wasting his tiles to low quality beddings/mortal to hold the tiles well........
Some artisan don't care if you will give them another job.....some just wanted the current money.
Some clients too don't want to pay positively to reinforce good work......but all bend to the artisans that think everything about work is to earn something at the end of the day lol......

Nigerian artisans generally lack finesse no matter how much they are paid. Tilers who work without spacers are no different from a painter who rather than take his time to use a masking tape to cover all electrical socket covers before painting a wall, will rather paint over them and tell you he has done a good job.

How can an artisans not try to read or have time on research about his/her job......
Everyday should be learning new things by artisan just to be informed

You will hear somethings from artisan like...."but it's my work na you can teach me how to do it"
You see those words irritate me much.....as an artisan you have to be open to learning new ideas
Let me say something like skill upgrading programs or times should be spare for skill upgrading....

Please read again. I never said N400/sqm with spacer. N400/sqm is what we have agreed on the job since 2 weeks ago. I'm just learning about spacer tonight and I'm asking what will be a fair amount to increase the labour if I insist on him using spacers for a perfect job. Clear?

Please make sure the tiler affirm to use of

spacers for the tiles.....there some tiles that doesn't fit for spacers too
Some 60by60 tiles are better with no space and some wall tiles too....

Architectural drawings follow up in layings

Tiler will just do normal 10 square meters a day with perfection and satisfying job

Check YouTube and see some Italian or Spanish mode of tiling
Nigeria we no wan pay but want sweet looking jobs

It is an object, shaped like a cross. It’s purpose is to ensure that the spaces between tiles are even or consistent. They come in sizes. Our artisans hardly use it. They prefer sharp sharp work.

You see all this price.....the tiler will have to work extremely hard to have enough to part with after job

How tiler wan do 20 square meter a day and also pay helper....how much e go remain?
And later do cleaning with perfect finishing........ that's why you will see artisan that will rush work just to part with enough money at the end

You will buy it but first ask your tiler if he's good in using the spacer....some tiler can't use some tools......
