Datedoboy: Lol. You're pained because you are working in a polytechnic right ? I get cos once Government close all those mushroom Polytechnics you might be out of job.
You are right my problem is not the institution, neither is it the Government nor is it the unsuspecting students that go to Polytechnics.
My problem is people like you who tell people to blame village people after spoiling peoples lives by giving them wrong advice due to your selfish reasons. You want to keep eating from peoples ignorance and sweat and tell them school doesn't matter
I'm fortunate today because Nigerian Polytechnics didn't get a hold on me and i will advice others not to enter their trap.
Maybe you teach in a polytechnic a.k.a slave camp but trust me, very soon your school will be scraped and unsuspecting students will be free from your grip. Mr Fortunatus Look at this wretch saying I teach in a Polytechnic. First off, I don't teach there but have my own businesses. From experience, I prefer employing products of polytechnics. They are usually more resilient and good executioners of projects. I have encouraged many to take Project Mgt certifications and then get certifications from Europe, particularly Germany cos they are relatively affordable. When I had a projects with oil firms, I met many products of polytechnics. Is it those in Seplat, Mobil, or various OSCs in PH and Eket we wan talk? One of the guys from Yabatech is an engineer in AG Mercedes Benz in Germany. With this your wretched mentality, if you work for your entire lifetime, you can never afford a new Mercedes-Benz. Foolishness is in your blood. |

Your problem is not the institution, you are actually a very unfortunate fellow.
Even if you attend a University, you will blame your course of study for your misfortune.
If you study your desired course, you will blame your class of degree for your misfortune
If you even get a very good class of degree, you will blame the government.
Leave story and blame your village people. They have made you unable to see opportunities. |

Datedoboy: This is not true. No one cares? Go to some companies and see how HND graduates are treated as if they are slaves even with good performance. You can't get to Managerial positions in Banks with HND even if you know the job very well. A fresh graduate with BSC will be promoted rapidly compared to you.
Some HR will not even employ you once they see HND. Even if they employ you, you will be given less pay. Now, I know that you are a very very ignorant fellow. My own uncle in Wema Bank is a Regional Manager. He doesn't have a University degree, what he has is an HND. He joined when he left Ilaro Poly. I have been involved in several recruitments in the technology space. In fact, in the last promotion round, one of the people promoted has an HND from Yabatech. She is currently supervising those with University Degrees from Covenant, Uniport and other schools. |

PROUDIGBO: You incompetent lot rigged yourselves in to power and have totally fcked up the value of the naira barely 8 months into the stolen mandate! In a desperate bid for a way out of the hole you dug yourselves into, you’re now casting your covetous eyes in the direction of the domiciliary accounts of innocent and hardworking Nigerians who never wanted you in the first place!
If you’re looking for dollars to help shore up the value of your naira, you couldn’t do worse than holding a gun to Tinubus’ head and demanding he hands over all the criminally acquired billions of dollars he has squirrelled away in foreign accounts! Start from there! Shinasa, if the government wants to implement the policy, you are nonentities and there's nothing you can do about it. You see the proceeds of the armed robbery and kidnapping which you have converted to dollars, they will convert it to the Naira value and send it into your Naira account. To spend am sef do dey scare you. There is nothing you, your ancestors and generations yet unborn can do about it. |

aswani: At no point during the elections for Obj and Abiola did Ndi Yoruba insult Ndigbo at all, compare that to the way Obidients were abusing Ndi Yoruba on social media left right and centre even if you just said you didn't think Peter Obi was the best candidate.
Obidients need to learn some humility. Igbos insulted the Ooni, Soyinka, Adeboye, Kumuyi, traditional rulers, Governors, etc. Yorubas have replied them with action, see how they are crying about. |

tegrianonigltd: Lol, they will find a way to say something about the new one. No be Tinubu and co??
Always something. Igbos voted obasanjo, voted Abiola and co even with their men on paper like Ojukwu, and co, e reach oBi turn, Igbos are bad, Igbos are this, Igbos are that. Pathetic really, no jokes. Abiola was Muslim, Obj was Christian , Igbos voted them in.
You can clearly see the hypocrisy and the divide and rule politics Tinubu used just to get to power.
Igbos were never enemies to Yorubas, they pushed a narrative just for their selfish agenda. How many states were in Igboland in 1993, how many did Abiola win? This one thinks he's talking to the illiterates in his village. Igbos were not enemies but you insulted our traditional rulers, insulted our religious leaders, insulted our academia, insulted everyone. Have you forgotten how your brothers here on Nairaland were rejoicing during the Ondo church attacks? Abeg, get out. |

VaselineCrew: Some APC supporter on that CBN thread was already threatening Nigerians with doms, saying they would forcefully convert it and there is nothing we can do, that if we complain, we will be shot, wow!
That is fucking scary! Here's what an Obidient Ipob supporter said kettykin: We were already waiting for them , brainless people, come and touch my Dom account and see problem. I repeat, if they convert all the dollars in dorm accounts to Naira, nothing that you will do. Nothing. I repeat, if you go to the bank and behave like an animal, the Mopol and security officers will shoot you and nothing will happen. Naira is our legal tender here in Nigeria. So, if they outlaw operation of dorm accounts, your dollars will be converted into Naira and paid into your Naira account. Travel out and stop making foolish noise. In how many countries are you allowed to freely convert their local currency for USD without neck-breaking KYC and all? |
Politics › Re: If I Earn Dollars, Isn't It A Good Thing For Nigeria? Why Will You Close My Dom? by Coldspice: 6:06pm On Feb 03, 2024 |
tollyboy5: Leaving it at $1k is not so cool. You want to kill businesses. Those who earn in dollar should be free to keep the dollar, while those who got dollar from banks should not stock it beyond $5k, they're the major proplem Keep the dollar where? In Naija or in US accounts? Cos you can open US accounts from here. Let them open US accounts to keep it. If it wants to enter, it must be converted to Naira. The alternative is for dorm accounts to have a cap. Enough to spend, not enough to stash. |

Let's address the elephant in the room If you want to save in dollars, get a visa, go to the US, open a US account and then be saving it there. That way, you can repatriate your funds to Nigeria through official channels whenever you want to change it. |

Romance › Re: What Are Possible Dangers Of Marrying A Single Mom In This Era? by Coldspice: 12:43am On Feb 03, 2024 |
GodPrince: I greet you all. My people pls help me address this properly. There's this babe I met at an Agricultural programme in 2023 last year we exchanged contacts and started communicating but it was a rare communication initially we just talked only about our agric programmes and some times we just chat a little after I buy data from her, she's a graphic designer and data vendor, she doesn't even disturb me for money. fast forward to when she claimed to be single so I proposed a love affair she told me she's single mom and everything that happened, I understood her n felt for her but I really love this girl especially her eye color. she accepted we started dating, she has been so nice sometimes she gave me data I didn't ask for, she even proposed to give me some money to put in my business but I stylishly rejected it because I know how women are, she's really been so nice and loving but later on she got too confident that maybe I love her too much so she kind of snub me and act somehow sometimes, I actually love this female and intend to marry her because we have alot in common in respect to life interests and careers. I feel this inner peace I never felt before but I just dislike her being single mom, she has promised me sex several times but I just give her excuse for us not to have sex because if I don't marry her later on she will say I used and dumped her and that's not my intention for her, my intention is beyond just sex so I won't do it with her since I don't know if I can marry her. lately we were chatting I asked her if she still has feelings for her ex and she admitted to me that recently she felt something for him because the guy recently started caring for her. So I was like ok, since then I limited the conversations and she too kept ignoring me also, 2 times she misbehaved b4 but she used emotional blackmail to get me back and my conscience starts judging me not to leave her because I know honestly her type is rare these days, but till now about 4 days we have not communicated and I already moved on. I remember I read somebody's comment on nairaland that said "single mother na person wife". So like I've moved on and I don't intend to continue no matter the emotional blackmail she may put up later, have I taken the right step by moving on? or I should try to mend things if the female reaches out again? Is it okay to marry a single mom? What are the possible dangers? Just listen to this mumu. Single mother wants to use you as spare tyre. Your life don finish. |

aariwa: Smh…can’t these people use common sense. This is a business opportunity for speculators to buy up all the dollars in circulation at a good price and become their own BDCs. The biggest profit will come when dollar scarcity hits…new billionaires will be created this year courtesy of emilokan daft policies..chai…if you know you know Calm down. Once IMTOs are fully regulated and licensed, they will now ban ownership of dorm accounts and convert all dollar deposits to Naira. Once this is done with a raise of interest rates and issuance of Naira investments with attractive interest rates, dollar rates will tumble. Cardoso already hinted about the Dorm account thing. |
