Na WA o, so we are no longer free to choose names for our dogs.
This is wrong. I don't support the man's actions but still this is a democracy we should have freedom of speech, freedom to air out opinions.

Once you shut the masses up we might as well go back to the military era.

My brother, condemn the man action. You can criticise the president and call him any name directly or indirectly like we all are doing on social media every now and then. But the man's action and those of his cohorts now on the run is abnormal. It is capable of creating serious crisis in the state. Thank God the Housa man displayed unusual sense (not characteristics of of the northerners) to report the matter to the police ( very civilised)

Imagine an Housa man parading a monkey with the inscription of ojukwu at uperiwaka in Onicha during the burial week of Chief Ojukwu.

The man is very foolish. I sure trust you personally will not behave stupidly. Igbos re smart people now...what is really happening

you definitely have a short memory or you would recall that a goat was named Jonathan & heaven did not fall.

what reason did the Muslims go on rampage? it was 'alledged' that someone committed 'blasphemy'. the same way the women killed in kano & abuja 'blasphemed'.

from your comment, its obvious you support the mayhem that happened in Zamfara because you feel your religion was insulted.

your 'kind' thrive on the notion that you are violent & therefore you should not be messed with. you see nothing wrong on trampling on the rights of others but turn into werewolves the moment someone from another religion gives you a second look.

Not that I support the arrest of the dog owner o. But ur example of a goat being named after Jonah no hold water o. Perhaps there was no issue from that because pple actually believed Jonah chopping of yam is very much like that of a goat...and kind of agree that GEJ resemble the goat.
You shut up my friend. Only a sick fellow like the ugly lunatic up there will inscribed the name of a seating president on a dog hoping his action will spark some sort of crisis. He should thank his star that the issue is handled in a civilized manner. Why didn't he inscribed ojukwu's name or any of his leaders cognomen on the said dog if he wants to show how miserable his life is?

You don't go about looking for trouble and when that trouble finally finds you, you begin to play the victim card. Maybe if he'd call his name buhari without inscribing buhari's name on the dog, just maybe nobody will have any problem with him. But what that sick fellow did is an 'act of provocation', a breach of public peace and an evil intention to instigate violence. Like I said earlier, he should thank his very tiny star that the authority stepped in to calm every boiling nerve down.

Again he should thank his 'very very tiny star'.
[

The police got it wrong at the point when they had to re-arrest the man. They should have counselled both parties and ensure the matter is put to rest instead of escalating it to this point.

The man who reported to the police did the right thing instead of taking laws into his hand and instigating violence and communal clash. He could truly be offended by the action especially as he claimed it has got something to do with his dad Alhaji Buhari. More to the fact that there was apparent animosity between both community.

The owner of the dog has the right to name his dog by any name. He could be wrong however, if he did it maliciously to spite others and instigate crisis.

The real culprit here is the police, for not managing the issue well. The two parties could have been educated and the matter settled amicably...but they choose to make issue out of it.

Now enough of this useless nonsense. We Nigerians should work more on living together happily than get excited about issues that further divide us.

Politics / Re: Police AIG Summons Case Files Of Man Who Named His Dog ‘Buhari’ by cole265(m): 1:29pm On Aug 21, 2016
teemy:
If following on the man's assumption that he named the dog buhari from his adoration for the president then we can relate to that with the way barbing salons, clothing lines and such are named after famous people. Normally animals (pet) are named with what you would want to hear on a regular basis and gives you good memories instead of bad ones. Who wants to name his dog Judas?

We once had two dogs during the era of the past US president; George and Bush. Nice dogs they were and Bush performed a selfless service of protecting its new owner - we sold it to - by taking the gunshot that allowed the owner to escape.

We need to ask who names his/her pet after someone like say a terrorist or an hated personality. It would be hard to prove if Mr Joe did it to create spite unless the police want to turn mind readers. People who adore a personality could label or tatoo their bodies with the name (which could explain the dog branding).

There is limit to how one can claim spite. An incident once happened whereby a customer at a friend's barbing salon asked that the music (being played before he got there) should be turned off simply because it was christian music. The accuser Halilu Umar, in this case had a choice of minding his own business as the dog was not mentioned to have transgressed his territory. Actually the police should place him under arrest for threatening the life of another else it would encourage the acts of people who killed the redeemed lady evangelist a while ago.

Irrespective of all this, this case would serve as a continuum of encouraging the intolerance of troublemakers or a caution to them. Also if Mr Joe had been behaving in a manner that was negative to what he claimed as reason for naming the dog and to antagonise his neighbours then he should be prosecuted to let others know that the police would handle all complaints and the law need not be taken into their hands. Even at that the law would identify with him having the right to name his own property as he wishes. Even movies show bad representation of people and places, do we then stop them?

If this had been the norm in the past, farmers would not have had to revenge attack on cattle which led to reprisal attacks of farm villages being razed and people killed.

Provided he is not killed, a good human rights lawyer would make Mr Joe a very rich man from both the police and Halilu Umar's pockets.

I pray the AIG gets the wisdom to take this case to a good conclusion.

Very objective thoughts suppose

The Igbos have suddenly assumed the previous Housa Backward and uncivilised position in everything. The east is the new Nigeria distractor, a position not contested with the North since independence until recently.

Pets can be named whatever the owner deem fit. I don't see why this was treated as a national security issue. grin the Northerners are just too radical in all modicum of their thinking.

If you follow this matter carefully, you will understand what this Northern guy is grouseing about.
I always view things as objective as possible to reach the crux. It is not about the president. He has been called worse names and even wished death and he never show any concerns, just like many other former presidents and public figures. Intact Aisha directly called someone a bull dog bla bla bla.
This Northern guy said he is only trying to avoid communal clash. Go read the tory again
Events / Re: Akinade And Olufunto Married As Virgins!! (Photos) by cole265(m): 11:16pm On Aug 20, 2016
ReddLabel:
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. It's rare to see virgins in this perverted generation, it involves a lot of discipline and self control. If you can discipline yourself on sexuality, chances are that, you can discipline yourself in almost all other spheres of life.

That said, marriage is an institution with a lot of challenges. It's an unfamiliar terrain for the couple, though, you both grow and learn along the way. In the process of learning, mistakes are bound to be made, costly mistakes that will shake the foundation of your union, note, being sexually disciplined does not insulate you from the shock of marital challenges, it could come in any form. In the heat of the challenges, my above narrated "sexual discipline" might not help your case, so the much celebrated virginity becomes worthless and valueless.

As much regards I have for the two of them, I must be sincere also, that, marriage is not built on such "trivial" issue, it does not guarantee you anything in marriage.

It doesn't guarantee love

It doesn't guarantee happy home

It doesn't guarantee a thing

Still, if being a virgin makes you happy, who am I to say you are wrong? To each man, his own!!!

Not true. Just realised lots of virgins abounds these days. Do the research, it is now the in thing. I know what am talking about
