3. Do i still need to include my bank account statement in the application

kma: Good morning collins and justwise.how are u guys and all nairalanders.can u imagine I wa denied yesterday because of my yellow card which I got from the port health authority at the airport.I called them yest morning and a lady told me to go and get a new yellow card after I gave her my passport no to check the status of my application.but when I later called again, another lady picked it and said my passpot has been returned back to vfs.imagine that they shld ve just called me if they were not clear about the card earlier rather than denying me the last day as the letter read 3rd of april.
Now I want to reapply next week again but I am a medical doctor and I just finished a one year internship on the 31st of jan and waiting to go for my nysc in july.I want to apply to go in june.please can I include that I just finished internship and show them all my pay slipsduring the internship.I still have abt 42k in my account and the cash was from the salary during the internship.that was how I did the first application in addition to my uncle's documents I attached.I want to attach only my documents this time around.can they accept the fact that I just finished a programme in jan and waiting for another in july which I told them in the first application. My mind tells me they just wanted to deny me cos the yellow card was from the airport.I don't want to use any agent and I'm afraid it may take long again.pls u all shld advise a brother
kma: Sorry I meant 420k and not 42k
I don't really agree with the reason for your denial, though i don't know the type of Yellow card you submitted but cards issued at the airport are generally accepted. I think the reason was just an excuse to deny you. For the sake of other, i will try as much as possible to upload a copy of the accepted Yellow card in and out for others to see, as that is what i use personally. Meanwhile you can get another cards and reapply but try as much as possible to simplify your application by submitting simple verifiable documents as follow:

1.Your passport.
2.Paid Hotel reservation
3.Flight reservation with South African airways.
4.Yellow card
5.My letter of introduction from your hospital
6.A letter of reference from your doctors' association in the hospital.
7.Your bank statement. (the 420k is ok)
8.Write a detail visa application letter to include the your reasons for visiting and assurance that you will come back.
9.Marriage cert if you are married (optional)
10.Consent letter from your wife if married(optional)
11.Evidence that you will come back to your country (A letter of absent from work/leave letter)

IamJerry: PLEASE "JUSTWISE AND COLLINSFBI" KINDLY HELP.... Can a purchased return ticket be extended?

For example, if I pay for a return ticket and I book to return with the ticket after a week BUT I later want to stay for another 1week, can I extend the ticket? Or change my flight date? Please help...
From what i know, it is 100% possible but double check with your airline before payment to be double sure you can extend it. From experience it is very possible.

samsaw: Hello collins
I joined nairaland just to meet you. I am admitted to fort hare university for phd which I have registered online and have paid the required minimum initial payment. My supervisor has also won a bursary for me that will cover accommodation, tuition and monthly allowance. The challenge I'm having is my visa.
In February when went to apply for study visa, I was told the embassy in lagos have stopped issuing study visa, so I went to VFS lagos to apply for visiting which took almost 2mnths to get processed. The bad news is that I was denied due to "contradictory itinerary". My question now is because I'm behind schedule I want to re-apply at abuja.
1. How many working days will study. Visa take in abuja (6weeks maximum)
2. Will I still pay repartration fee (yes)
3.If I apply for visiting can I change to study visa in the republic (100% sure)
4. Do I still need bank statement since I have a sponsorship letter. (Yes! To show that you are capable to support yourself)
I will be grateful if you respond to this quick.
Thanks
Thanks for your interest and trust in NL travel section, as regards the above, i will advice you to go to SA with a tourist visa and with all necessary documents to process your study permit within the republic. Reasons being that, you are already behind schedule, it will make your permit easier, faster and you will be able to get access to other documents needed for your permit. Meanwhile you can apply at Abuja application centre for your tourist visa and make sure you pay repatriation fee even if they don't ask for it, tell them you will like to pay (110k in naija and 7k rands in SA = approximately 140k plus). Tell your supervisor to get you a recommendation letter to support your application. Get a police report from naija before going and get yourself prepared financially.

henrychubayo: Next time, don't make ur application a complex one. Those documents for you that u submitted should be enough to grant you a visiting visa. You are qualified for it. Submitting your uncle documentations makes the application a complex one. Even though you will get the visa, but submitting those document will make your case go thru additional scrutiny because it may seem you are incapable of taking care of your self and one going for a visit is ought to be ok to take care of himself. Just my advise
You are absolutely on point, sometimes most applicants create unnecessary delay for themselves, too much documents sometimes brings about complex scrutiny and long verification process.

All these will create additional verification and wahala, besides, you don't need all these documents to secure a tourist visa.
Also my uncle who has been taking care of me for 20 years attached the following.
1.Letter of sponsorship on my behalf.
2.His company's bank statement with skye and uba and letters from each bank backing them up.
3.His personal account statement with skye.
4.his personal count statement with barclay bank in uk.
5.His Cirt of incorporation of his company.
6.His daughter(my cousin's) cirtificate as an extra evidence as she schooled in nelson mandela metropolitan uni, south africa from 2005 to 2012.this was to show that he and his daughter have been to south african on a number of occasions and have returned.
Just be calm, the Embassy will get back to you once they are done with your application and if you are denied (God forbid) based on any prob from your additional docs then you are the cause of your prob.

P406: Thanks for your response . I thought about doing that but I saw they required some documents to be presented by the person making payment in SA and I am in Naija right now. how long did it take for confirmation after the person made payments. My school did not indicate the number of months to pay for so I want to pay for 6months.i may pay by master card today . Collinsfbi I would appreciate your imput. my program is actually one that I go to SA twice a year for two weeks each, its a 2yr masters course. I was there in January on a visitors visa cos there was no time to apply for study permit.i spent about 18dys and returned.

but I am thinking if I should get another visiting visa in june and apply for study permit in SA on my next trip or get it here now.i have registered for course and have a letter from the faculty to the embassy also student i.d.
If your course is found to be the type you can write the exam in your home country, you may not be granted study permit, sorry to discourage you but that is the truth, your course seems to be online course.

Zzzalexzzz: Friends, please i will also want to know if i can use my Study permit to register a Business Name in South Africa since i am a Student entrepreneur with no Work Permit. I'm only planning on devoting a little percentage of my study time to my Biz.

Or what other documents do i need to legitimately register a company business name in South Africa?
You may start a business in the RSA if you have the permission from the Department by means of being in possession of a business permit but you have just be granted study permit which only permit you to study, I wonder why you want to do business with a study permit. Meanwhile a business permit is issued in terms of section 15 of the Immigration Act, 2002 (Act No 13 of 2002), read with regulation 24. This permit is issued to a foreigner who intends to invest in or open an own business in the Republic.

What are the requirements?
(a) Duly completed application form BI-1738.
(b) Passport valid for no less than 30 days after the expiry of intended visit.
(c) Payment of the prescribed application fee.
(d) Vaccination certificate, if required by the Act.
(e) Medical certificate in respect of the applicant and all members accompanying him/her if any?
(f) Birth certificate, to be unabridged where relevant to prove parenthood.
(g) Marriage certificate (if applicable) or
(h) Proof of spousal relationship in terms of the Act and these Regulations
or
(i) Divorce decree (if applicable).
(j) Proof of custody (if applicable).
(k) Death certificate in respect of late spouse (if applicable).
(l) Consent from parent(s) (if applicable).
(m) Proof of adoption (if applicable).
(n) Proof of legal separation (if applicable).
(o) Police clearance certificates in respect of all applicants 21 years or older, in respect of all countries where person(s) resided 1 year or longer, to be submitted within 12 months of the application if not immediately available.
(p) Additional information which the Department may request to satisfy itself of the existence of a good faith spousal relationship as set out in regulation 33(5), where applicable.
(q) Proof of funds available or transfer from abroad.
(r) Undertaking to register with the appropriate statutory body, if required by the nature of the business.
(s) Business track record to prove entrepreneurial skill.
(t) Proof that the business contributes to the geographical spread of economic activity.
(u) Proof that at least 5 citizens or residents shall be employed.
(v) A foreigner who is applying for a business permit must submit a certification by a chartered accountant which confirms that at least 2 of the following requirements have been met, OF WHICH ONE MUST BE THE
CAPITAL TO BE INVESTED [section 15(1)(a)]:
1. proof that the business in question is in one of the following sectors:-
(i) information and communication technology
(ii) clothing and textiles
(iii) chemicals and biotechnology
(iv) agro-processing
(v) metals and minerals
(vi) automotives and transport
(vii) tourism
(viii) crafts
2. the export potential of the business; or
3. calls for or involves a transfer of technology not previously generally available in the Republic; or
4. proof that at least 5 citizens/residents shall be employed; or
5. business track record to prove entrepreneurial skills; or
6. proof that the business contributes to the geographical spread of economic activity.
The Department may waive or reduce the capitalisation requirement of R2,5 million on recommendation or request of the Department of Trade & Industry, or Science & Technology, or on the basis of a recommendation of another competent organ of state.

Note: If the business no longer maintains the capitalisation requirement, the permit may be withdrawn. A business permit may be issued for 24 months at a time. Work permit/business permit requirements are somehow difficult to gather individually, that is why many people use immigration lawyer to apply for permit.

I was told, if i havn't paid my school fees or completed my registration, a one way ticket may not be allowed...

You don't need a return ticket, stand your ground before any immigration official who might use that as an excuse to extort you brcause you are a first timer.

dpaveun: @Collins, am in SA already don't wanna use any agent
You have not answered my question yet but notwithstanding South African visa agents are not like dubious Nigerian visa agents. Currently the immigration Act of 2002 (Act No 13 of 2002) supported immigration practitioners popularly called "agent"winkwho registered with Home Affairs Department to assist immigrants in putting together their applications for any type of permit they intend applying for. You can do it alone and at the same time you can use the service of immigration practitioners within SA, just make sure you are dealing with the genuine ones. There are different type of work permits with different requirements, at the same time there is general work permit.
