TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by collinsfbi(m): 12:47pm On Mar 31, 2017
oloolo:
Good day just wise and other gurus in the house..

I intend travelling to the u.k for the first time on vacation. My actally date of travel was supposed to be last month but I had to shift it to this month because of work.

My question is, in my form I stated that I will be visiting London for a one week stay. But now I want to just spent one night in london and head to Dublin to see my cousins I intend spending 2 weeks. My cousin has already booked a return bus ticket to take me from london to Dublin the second day after I arrive (and back in 2 weeks) as I want to visit a lot of attractions in london. I need to to state that I did not declare that I have any family member in the UK.

I have also booked a hotel for my one night stay in London. I will also be traveling with about $2500 for shopping and pocket change. .

I hope the Point of entry officer will not raise issues
If you go ahead with this story, I am sure you will have a big problem at the POE. This is why many people are turned back from the POE because of incoherent stories from the application purpose of visit. I will advise you to maintain what you have in your application to avoid having issues. You can still defend the changes in your arrival date but if you should go ahead with this stories of yours, I am sure you could find yourself in naija with the next available flight. Your visa is just a privilege not a right, so your fate will be decided at the point of entry but to avoid having issues, forget your story.

Guys i have been granted a visa few weeks ago but i am confused about where to live as a Nigerian and also a hustler. I like New York City but i seam not to here much of what Nigerian are doing there. I heard of texas too but then it seams only guys there are bring cars back home. Am confused so my question is which state in USA can a Nigerian Cope fast with the hustle

.
Go to Indianapolis, that is where immigrant newbies stay before they are good enough to relocate to wherever they want because is very cheap to live. Cheap rent, cheap bill and you will see a lot of Nigerians.

6months UK Visa fee is $113 if you are submitting at Ikeja, you will pay additional center charge. But it seems Ikea is faster than V. I
I think Ikeja is somehow faster and it's $185 with their centre charges for 6months
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by collinsfbi(m): 3:45pm On Mar 30, 2017

Free means that you would not be charge any handling fee at VI centre. Ikeja submission centre charges handling fee. Pls check TLC website for the currrent charges.
Cool ! You are right

Submission at V.I centre is free, the last time I checked.
Really!
Is this for real! free!
Anyway I don't know so I can't dispute that but I have never heard of a free visa applicant package. I think the normal application fee for 2yrs is around $429 excluding centre charges.

It's cheaper then, that is around $411 and about $90 difference

Thank you so much @collinsfbi,

I still need the V.I fees too so that i can compare.
I don't really know but other people who used V.I recently should be able to help. I always prefer Ikeja because it's accessible to me and very fast.

You don't have to run away because of the present situation in Nigeria now, If you have what it takes, bliv me Nigeria is one of the best places to live and make it in life. Every countries have their own various issues, Just think of what you can do and work towards it. No rich man will ever think of relocating abroad because it's easy to live like a king in Naija if you have what it takes.

Thanks for the update which is true. However i doubt if home office will ever call an applicant to request for additional documentation for a visit visa. Remember for a visit visa, there is no appeal or admistrative review. The rule is to provide enough document to support your application irrespective of if it's needed or not. Since original documents are no longer submitted. The onus is on the applicant to make his case before the ECO.
Am not sure either if applicant will be called to supply additional documents as stated on their requirement guide, but somehow they still accept original document if on A4 size. All docs will be scanned and returned immediately and must be on A4 size.

I thank you all for the contribution

(1) i will make a reservation that i can cancel a day to my arrival date.....

(2) pls help me with the flight reservation: or i should just make sure that the reservation is valid b4 i submit my application.

Thanks for your response
You don't need all these, it's a waste of time. You should rather try to gather other relevant documents that will prove a tie to your home country
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by collinsfbi(m):

@Collinsfbi. I disagree with you entirely as your post in misleading. If you are applying for a UK visit (tourist) visa. You're required to provide confirmed hotel booking as part of your documentation unless you're planning to stay with your invitee. Then you must provide their address including telephone number as well as documentation to support your intention to stay with your invitee. You may wish to go back and read about @wales600 reasons for refusal reproduced below. Like I said most hotels on booking.com offer free cancellation or confirmed booking without charging your credit/debit card, which means that you can cancel your booking if you do not get the visa. So, it does not cost you a kobo to book a hotel.
You are right bro, it used to be and from your quote, that was around early 2016 but now it's not longer compulsory and if you add it, it doesn't add anything to your application again. Even before it must be a paid hotel but now, applicants won't be refused without hotel booking. It was reviewed recently after your quote.

Bullied with words? How exactly did i bullied you here with these exchanges? Only when you have premeditated intentions that you will regard a comment like we exchanged here as bullying.

Travel section is free for anybody with good intentions to visit and contribute but if you decided to stay away for whatever reason then that is your decision.
Even if I don't stay away, I will try to be careful about the kind of comment I put up here and try as much as possible not to step on toes because I hate having issue with people.

Misleading people is not what i do as i try to pass info as accurate as i can.
I don't have issues bro and seriously I don't have anything against you but I don't just like being bullying with words. If that is how you determine my attitude, maybe you are right and that is why I don't like coming here. Let's forget about this pls so that the thread can retain its purpose.

Dude all i asked for was a link and you have provided it but what is the need for this monologue you always go into?
You know what, you have always be found of insulting people politely but I can read meaning to all your words. You can do it to others but definitely not me. Is it necessary for you to tell me I don't need to define what Court Affidavit was because you already knew? Since you are Mr know all, don't you think it's kind of a lack of good sense of judgement for you to argue or try to mislead people without knowing anything about the topic or is it a must for you to comment? A whole mr justwise of travel section, my brother put your ego aside and try to be good as always, you are not superior to anybody, you don't need all these so I don't have time for this as well. Peace!
TravelRe: Let's Talk About Nigerian Passport by collinsfbi(m): 1:51pm On Mar 26, 2017

You really do not need to define what affidavit is because i know too well what its.

Can you give me any official link to backup your claim that one need an affidavit for a stolen passport before replacement?
So you know, I thought you don't know because sometimes it's better to explain in details to people like you who argue without proof. I have known you for years if you still remember me that I don't really like arguing. I know you always fight for justice and I also stand for what is right. I hardly comment here these days but when I do, I give only fact and try not to mislead others. You ask for the link, you can see for yourself here and for all those who wish to know more about the requirements.

Pls note. Flight booking is just an option and not required as a documentation for U.K. visa. So you do not need to include it.

Accommodation booking is complusory if you plan to stay in a hotel. In that case you can search and book accommodation at www.booking.com. Most hotels offers free cancellations, as such you can cancel the booking if you do not get the visa.
Flight and hotel booking is no longer compulsory, so don't waste your money booking flight or any hotel until your visa is ready. All you need to do is to input the address of the hotel you intend to stay while filling the online visa application form. Fact!

If I want to do business what are d documents needed must I also submit my bank statement?
May be just to spend not more than seven days
You need an authorized letter of invitation from a business partner in china and your bank statement with almost 2m to stand a good chance. These are the two important documents needed to apply for a business visa.
TravelRe: Let's Talk About Nigerian Passport by collinsfbi(m): 8:13am On Mar 26, 2017

Court affidavit to show what exactly? That you own the passport? Police report is all you need to
Court Affidavits are used frequently and for many different reasons, it's a written statement of facts, sworn to and signed by a deponent before a notary public or some other authority having the power to witness an oath. In other words, when you sign an affidavit, you’re simply attesting, under law, that you swear a statement written in the affidavit is true.

Generally, this is to show that the applicant is committing his or herself under the law, should in case the applicant is found to be lying, the same document will be used against such person. This type of court affidavit is commonly issued for lost or stolen materials not necessarily relating to international passport only.

Without a court affidavit, you can't get a renewal for a stolen or lost passport in Nigeria. This procedure has been on for years and still the same.

Court affidavit is not needed, police report will do.
As much as I know, court affidavit is needed to get a stolen or lost passport renew in Nigeria. My younger brother lost his passport in SA last year, return to naija to get a renewal with police report and court affidavit. On the other hand, I can't say specifically if it is needed abroad to get a renewal from any Nigerian Embassy. Those who has previous experience should pls share their experiences regarding renewal abroad with or without court affidavit.

£30 really ? For my previous visits, Peckham lodge cost £45 but now is around £59. Let me check online for hotels around Woolwich maybe I can get a good deal.

Peckham and Woolwich share same thing in the aspect of Nigerians around you.
I feel like still being in Nigeria cos of the languages u hear,Pidgins and so..
You are right, that is the more reason why I like staying around Peckham, I won't miss that naija atmosphere and is more closer to central than woolwich but the different is not much. Do you have an idea of any cheap hotel around woolwich ?

ok no prob, maybe I will try woolwich this time, I always stay around Peckham whenever I visit or stay with my people around Degenham which is too far from central and too boring for me.

In this same naija where even TRUST doesn't trust anyone that's now the time you really think this will WORK?

abeg i do not think anyone who is lonely will feel safe to have a STRANGER companion.... unless they are looking for dangerous escapades.... well am just wondering who in their right minds will fall for this.
It's true there is no trust in naija due to the bad ones but that doesn't mean all Nigerians are bad, travel together doesn't mean staying together and at the same time, anyone traveling with anybody expected to take extra careful. If you are afraid of traveling with someone from naija, what about the ones you are meeting over there? A family friends politely got me doped in china last year November and give me lame excuses but there is nothing i can do about it. The best is not to trust anyone with your money most especially some dubious Nigerians staying abroad. Please don't take this like i am a fraudster and pls no insult, it's not a most a find a travel partner, if no one I definitely make my trip, some old member of this section know what i stand for (justwise et al). Its being a while i posted on nairaland generally, i just feel like to open this thread to help some other people connect but everyone must watch out for the type of people to connect with.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by collinsfbi(m): 12:11pm On Mar 11, 2017
To all moderators, users of travel section most especially to all lonely tourists and students, I find it necessary to open a thread for this purpose because I realized a lot of people are traveling to different destination without knowing anybody, even when you know somebody, they may not have your time but it's a different thing entirely if you find a travel partner who maybe heading towards your destination or who you can plan a trip together. This will help a lot lonely travelers in sharing information about your destination, hotel information, propose site attractions, itinerary and many more.

I will kick off this thread by asking if there is anyone traveling to UK for Easter Holiday, London to be specific. Let's hook up if you are interested, a friend we plan to travel together was denied and I don't feel like traveling alone because the trip was planned purposely because of him. Meanwhile this is not my first time going to the UK and i also have family there but I don't want to stay with anybody this time. If you are traveling to UK (London) in April, let hook up?
