valentino81: Hello NLDER's, I wish to spend a week in southy around december on a tourist visa. I am self sponsor, I have yellow vaccination card collected at MMA.
My Question;

1-Will I be required to pay repatriation fee? Possibility 99%
2- I want to go there around dec 20..like when is the best to start d application? Sept is almost gone, apply anytime in October
3- A nlder mentioned buying from southy and resell in Naija, what and what can be bought & resell here in Naija dt guarantee ġood
Returns? Ask people to take you to Marabastad in Pretoria, you will get cheap stuffs over there or visit any local market in Jo'burg, but don't buy from malls if you want to resell in naija.
Тнαηкѕ for ur anticipated support.

with 60k maximum, i think you are good to go but terms and conditions apply sha ooooo, for instance balance on your acct statement not inlcluded

3rd eye: 60k?....it is only 18k...of course aside bank ish!....except u ar going thru some sort of agents
I can see you quote me, It is either you are new here or you are just learning the traveling procedure. Only your 18k visa fee will not take you to SA, don't forget you also need to include a paid hotel confirmation as a tourist applicant without letter of invitation from South African host.

I am really sorry for not being able to reply to some questions for the past weeks, right now i am hocked and i don't really have time to be regular on this thread like before. i have read through the comments of many posters like TYPOP, Surdik, Manager007, STENACO and many others, pls try and help as many colleagues as you can with the little info at your disposal and don't let others be scammed, whatever info you give here will go along way to help thousands. For now I don't think i will be regular here like before though i will try as much as possible to be here once in a while. Peace

ibrak200: I submitted my application for visitors visa 1st of july in vfs global lagos but I don't know how long it will take for the processing to be done. How many weeks will it take to be out ?
I have been tracking it online but still on processing at the south africa embassy lagos.
Thanks & waiting replies
for processing time check here http://www.vfsglobal.com/southafrica/nigeria/holiday_visaprocess.html but most of the time, it usually exceed the stipulated time because of the number of applications received by vfs Lagos. On the other hand, call any of these numbers (01-4612067 or 01-4612050 - only vfs Lagos) and be sure to have your passport number with you when calling, I am sure they will check for you.

opsy4real1: hello collinsfbi and others, i am to go renew my visa on tuesday 16th july at abuja and with intended plans to travel on 10 august and depart 17th august. However my passport expires 11 jan 2014 which wud make my passport validity less than 5 months frm my intended departure date and i undastand its like applicant passport must be valid at least 6 months beyond departure date. Now I cant apply wit such passport? I'm applying a re-issue of pasport at immigration office today. I would like to ask do i use d old passport number or the new passport num to apply wen i get it re-issued?thx
If your current passport is to expire by Jan 2014 then your passport is still valid for application/immigration scrutiny. Since you plan to travel on 10th August then you are free because all you need is a valid passport (validity of at least 30days after the intended stay)

check here for further clarification

patwolex: Pls I have a south south africa visiting visa and I also got an admission in a canadian university and I am suppose to resume by september, but I have not applied for student visa to canada...I know its not possible for me to apply in nigeria again for a canadian visa, cos the time is too short...pls, is it possible for me to apply for a canadian student visa in south africa? I mean when I get to south africa dis month end,is it possible for me to go and apply for my student visa at d canadian embassy in south africa with my nigeria passport? Pls I need an urgent answer, cos I don't ant to loose my admission....lastly, how can I defer my admission if that's d only choice left?
You cannot apply because of your status as a visitor, only Nigerian holders of Resident Permit (either Permanent of Temporary)can apply for such visa through South Africa except if you are visiting neighbouring countries like Swaziland and others

opsy4real1: hello people, i'm here again to seek opinions and urgent responses needed. I was to travel to south africa yesterday and had been checked in and cleared by immigration as 'seen on departure' than I got an important call b4 boarding the kenyan aircraft and had to forfeit my flight. I actualy wanted to travel b4 my visa expires on 10th july and return afta a week just to utilize d visa b4 expiration and i can apply again on my return to earn me possibly 1yr multiple entry visa. I got s.a visa twice, the 1st frm lagos which i utilized in january, and 2nd time at abuja in april and was again issued 3 months. But now i wont be able to make d trip on d 2nd issued visa which expires 10th. Now i want to knw if i can stil be issued at least 6months on my 3rd try. Also, can i detail in my self intro leta dat i was meant to travel on 5th july but rescheduled my plan cos they might be curious why 'seen on departure immigration stamp is on my passport and no arrival stamp to my destination whatsoever.also do i include the kenyan airways confirmed ticket for dat missed date? I should av changed dates if i were sure of wen i'm gettin visa if i apply. Or do i just make a flight bookin wit s.a airways to secure my visa and then change my already paid ticket date wit kenyan airways. Thanx.
If you really want to travel, you can still travel even on the expiration date of your visa as long as you are financially ok but if you are not willing to spend another money of flight ticket, you can reapply but that may not give 1yr multiple entry. As for reapplying, you can do that with just flight reservation with South African Airways.

opsy4real1: please house, i dont understand south africa consulars again o. My friend was denied at abuja in month of may ;reason for denial 'INVALID HOTEL BOOKING'. He reapplied again afta 2wks of denial, again he was refused. Reason is 'RECENTLY DENIED'. Wat do they mean as long as he was adviced to reapply if he wishes with all required documents. Do they now expect denied applicants to wait for at least 6 months now just lyk u.s and u.k
My first questions are; Did your friend arrange his supporting documents himself? Did he make payment for his hotel booking himself? The reason being that, your hotel confirmation maybe be forged including some other undisclosed documents most especially if someone did it for you and that may earn you a ban unknowingly because forgery is a serious immigration offense when it comes to traveling and securing visas. To save your money, i will advise you to forge SA for a while.

RichYoungRuler: hi all, i appreciate the good work done here so far, pls i would like to find out if guys are using the purple olive hotel site for payment as the reservation shows a booking.com website which was included in the requirements page as a third party site. thanks, then when an employer is sponsoring one is d sponsored person still suppose to include his own acct details, isnt that of the employer enough? then if you own your company who is then to write the recommendation letter on ur behalf,is it d secretary or who? thanks.
As long as you will get a paid confirmation from Purple Olive Hotel then you don't seem to have problem but don't use an ordinary confirmation without payment. For the SOA, you still need to support your application with your own statement of account, even if your company is sponsoring you, it's a general believe that your company cannot take responsibility of everything and that is why you must support your application with your own statement of account to show that you have something to rely on, it doesn't matter how much you are having in your account as long as you are working and you don't fall under dependent age. For the letter of introduction, human resources manager (HR) can do that if are the owner of your company and if secretary is what you use instead of HR in your company then the office of the secretary too can handle that as long as all the documents correlate.

uzhilove: I say a big thanks to the moderators and other contributing members of nairalans. Am not an ardent followers of nairalanf but I so much appreciate what u guys are doing here. May God increase your understanding! Please am proposing leaving nigeria to southafrica as a visitor, I will appreciate it if u can give me a clue on the likely account balance I should have before printing my statement of account.

Thanks to u all once again.
if you are proposing applying for a tourist visa, with 300k above you won't have problem regarding insufficient balance also depending on how long you intend to stay. If you are already in possession of a tourist visa then you don't need any statement of account because nobody will ask you that, just be sure to have $500 above (cash) to avoid problem with port officials.

dynamyte: @collinsfbi pls I need your help, I am currently in Cape Town on a 3 months multiple entry visitor's visa,I came in on the 12th of June, I'm expected to leave SA on the 11th of July, since its stated on the visa that I must not exceed 30 days on each entry. The problem I have now is that I intend to stay for 2 months at a stretch so instead of leaving on the 11th of july, I would want to leave on the 11th of august. Pls any advice on how to go about it? Thank you
Apply for Swaziland Tourist Visa using any trustworthy immigration lawyer, you will get it within a week, with this you can be stamped in and out of SA and that gives you the opportunity to stay another month in SA.

Martins459: Thanks people.
Like I stated earlier, the 2 accounts I used are mine & genuine. Irrespective of my annoyance, I hv decided to reapply. I'll visit the head offices of the 2 banks to collect relevant documents. I hope I get it this time. Should I ask them to write while I slot it in my application package or I should just ask them to send the letters themselves?
I am not sure the bank will agree to send any docs on your behalf, just tell them the purpose for the statement and if possible get a letter to certify that your accounts are genuine.

Martins459: Good people.......I'm still waiting for your advice/ comments

I made a s/a tourist visa application 2 weeks ago. I collected my passport yesterday and was refused on the grounds that the "signature on bank statements lacks credibility". I find this totally absurd. These 2 statements are mine and were collected directly from the banks. I intend to pursue this to a logical conclusion but I honestly don't know where to begin.
TYPOP: My brother, people on this page may not be able to help you. This issue pertains to Visa appeal generally and you may need to seek experts' advice. Find the lawyers' page on nairaland and I'm sure they should be able to help. I know one or two people here may have one or two words on this but until they see your post, they may not reply. Let's hope they see it on time while you also try the lawyers' page.

Cheers man.
There is nothing like appeal when it comes to South African Permits, denial is denial and nothing more. If you are sure of using authentic statement of Account, go to your bank and exlpain your ordeal with SA embassy and ask them to issue another statement of account and tell them what you are using it for because the stamp and staff signatory of statement of account for Embassy purpose in most banks differ from ordinary statement of account. On the hand, you ask them to write a letter addressed to South African High Commission on the authenticity of your statement of account. Do that and re-apply anytime, Best of Luck

if you were asked to pay 110k for repatriation, go ahead and make the payment. There is nothing to be worried about, your visa will be issued as soon as payment is confirmed. Be fast about it because deadline for repatriation payment don't usually exceed two days. Your visa will be issued and the repatriation receipt will be sealed with your visa. Good luck!
