If you are going for the NC, don't you think it is rather late but not too late anyway. For flight itinerary, use ordinary online reservation and that can be done a day before your submission day with either South African Airways or Arik but I will advise you to use South African Airways flight reservation.

I wonder why you have to come here at this time to mess yourself up. When you were dealing with him nobody knew about it and I think you should face the music all alone. Try and appeal to him, am sure he can get you additional 1year making 2years tourist visa. Gullible pple like you will never learn until visa agents finish you off. You should celebrate if you are able to get your passport back without having issue with the embassy that may affect you in the future. Nigerian passport holders without Ghanaian residence permit cannot apply for SA tourist visa through Ghana, I may not be sure of other countries but I am 100% sure of SA visa.

I think you can still make it with the following prices though it's advisable to use arik if you have much luggage but South African Airways is the best in terms of time management. @dpeereal, thanks for replying last night. Your reply made me take a flight today and fortunately got my permit. I submitted on Nov. 13, issued on Dec. 14 , collected on Dec. 20.

Many applicants who submitted since October/Nov were really agitated when they couldn't get their passports back since the embassy is closing for holiday fro 21 Dec to 2 Jan. The applicants were not given any concrete reasons for the delay.
My observation was that most of them were given admission to schools that were not highly rated and do not have SAQA evaluation cert. This may be the reason for the delay( my thought)

My guys don't give up. Get right information, submit correct documents and prayer hard.

In your Bible there is nothing like kneeling down and pray but in mine there are hundreds of act of kneeling before God or a vessel of God and pray to God almighty. The South Africa Visa Application Centre’s would also be closed to applicants for submission of applications from Monday 24 December 2012 to Tuesday 1 January 2013 on account of the Christmas and New Year Holidays.

The South Africa Visa Application Centre’s would however remain open for collection of processed applications on Monday 24, Thursday 27 to 31 December 2012. Time: 11am – 3pm.

The South Africa Visa Application Centre’s would resume normal work on Wednesday 2 January 2013.

Repatriation or additional info but it must be repatriation because they hardly call for additional info these day instead they deny. For this i think you may be required to pay repatriation(go with your visa receipt), just go the centre where you applied and tell them you want to pay for repatriation, they will let you in and once you get inside, tell them you had a missed call from the embassy and efforts to call back prove abortive and you want to check if your name in among those required to pay repatriation. There is a list containing the names of people expected to pay repatriation, am sure they will check for you. You have to that very fast as deadline for repatriation don't normally exceed 2-3days maximum.

You seem to know to well but what you have just displayed is a mere internet conversion rate which does apply when dealing people who trading currency in the physical (not even bank will give you the exact internet rate) even as at today, 1rand = 18.2156naira http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert/?Amount=1&From=ZAR&To=NGN which is almost 19naira but for the fact that currencies do not have stable exchange rate at the foreign exchange market, that doesn't mean you will get it exchanged for that 1rand = 18.2156naira as of today trading. It was a visitors visa.When i applied i stated that i was going to spend just 9days.Yes,this is my first time of applying for a visa.I wasn't asked to pay any 110k.I was only sent that text message for me to come pick up my passport..If you have any further question please ask

@All, Pls note, 300k is not the exact minimum balance you must have in you SOC, so try and use your initiative when applying most especially if you intend to stay longer than a week, you should know that 300k may not be enough and you can be denied based on insufficient fund. So try and get more money into your account if you are likely to spend more than a week in RSA.

teetee123: Thanks for all your useful information. They actually have original copy of my SAQA. I never needed SAQA for my course which is PhD at Stellenbosch but obtained SAQA cert because I applied to other univ who requested it. Stellenbosch never asked for it.

Who are you referring to with the word "They", your school or the Embassy. One thing you need to understand is this, since you have SAQA evaluation certificate why don't u include it at least to show that you have done your evaluation even if your school did not require SAQA for admission, who knows the embassy may demand for it most especially if your master degree is not from RSA but instead of doing that you left Lagos for Abuja for submission just not to include SAQA and quick processing. I know of some even from this thread who applied through Lagos and got their study permit within 2 weeks. You make me laugh when you said all what we do here are mere suggestion, anyway, we shall see how fast Abuja will process yours. Best of luck.

As of 1st week of December it seems nobody who submitted his\her papers in November has been given the permit while Lagos is giving it out in 2 weeks.
Please can anybody confirm or refute this information.

Mark my words today, though I don't know the course you were admitted for but your permit will only be granted if you satisfy any of these three conditions:
Submission of SAQA evaluation
Submission of HESA exception certificate
Or Your course does not require any of the two which is very rare.

Most of your earlier questions are better answered at the high commission itself.
Go to the consular officer in Accra or just call the office. Their rules change every time. There are even lots of differences in their dealings between Lagos and Abuja not to talk of Accra. The advice been given here are just suggestions from past experiences. The situation may not be the same again. All the best

Immigration rules, visa requirements, processing procedures etc all these do change I don't dispute that but as far as I am concerned SA visa requirements for Nigeria remain the same no matter where you are applying from within the country. Let us know when you collect your study permit from Abuja maybe I will advise people to apply for study permit without SAQA at Abuja Application Centre.

You don't lodge a huge amount into an account to process visa, you can still be denied by doing that and even if you will have to do that, you must attach a self explanatory letter to your SOC stating the source of the money if possible supported by any relevant docs and as for repatriation fee, the Embassy will call you and give you deadline for payment.

It's easy to secure visa to any part of the world through SA if you are a resident holder of the following permits ; Study Permit, Work Permit, Temporary/Permanent Resident Permit as far as you have your money, I mean if you are financially okay.

Tourist visa (single entry) will be alright for that purpose and you can extend your stay if there is a need for that. Be prepared to pay repatriation and as for Lagos Application Centre, to me i don't see anything wrong with that centre though there may be a little bit delay in the processing of some applications which i think it's probably due to the fact that they accept more applications daily than Abuja centre (Lagos=200 applications daily/Abuja=100/120 applications daily).Aside this, i don't think you have to worry as long as you are applying with genuine documents.
