The ripple effect of CBN foreign exchange policy cuts across many sectors. If production is cut by 50%, it we invariably results in further reactions- cut in labour force, decline in revenue of suppliers of raw materials-brought about by decline in sales, increased cost of production - brought about by diseconomics of scale, low living standard etc. The group with the hardest hit, is the inexperienced job seekers who will be displaced or disadvantaged in any available job openings on the ground of inexperience while the group with experience keeps changing jobs. |
Personally, I doubt anything major was wrong with the refineries in the first place with these news. It was just more profitable to some people to import fuel than for the refineries to be functioning. That was the point. Importation of refined products profit them most. You did not hear a few occasions where empty vessels were ducked and recorded as imported products and credited with the corresponding subsidy payment subsequently. Nigeria is so unlucky with good leadership. |
In reality, moral values result from constructive indoctrination during the cognitive development of children, a task that we have mostly made a lesser priority in Nigeria. The moment we dropped the above stated fundamentals of achieving greatness, Nigeria began to fall. Assuming we had ever had it right. Solution to Nigeria's problem remains a puzzle. |
It is not in my character to abuse elders otherwise..... You privatized a whole lot of things which you bought at the same time with looted funds and you still have the audacity to come and spill trash here. We never knew about this transaction before now, which implies he diverted the money to his personal pocket. Late yar'dua must have refunded the money from National treasury. GEJ was mainly accused of supervising corruption but you perpetrated corruption your self. And is annoying to know you do not show remorse for your inappropriate action while in office. I do not know what you feel like? PMP is finding difficult to form his government due to inordinate political culture you handed down to your successors. Political offices are no longer call to service but call to loot and impoverish the poor and downtrodden. He feels like doing everything himself because there is no one to trust. #BABAyoualmostsoldNigeria. |

Am at home with the commendation but will at the same time reaffirm what some had said- Mbaka has no friend at all. Lol, I have witnessed a few occasions he took his fellow priests that came to help him in Adoration day to the cleaners. Secondly he can never love PMB more than he loved GEJ. So, his medicine is good governance and you will ceal his mouth. More reason Enugu state witnessed improved infrastructure and relative better administration. God bless Nig God bless PMB God bless father Mbaka. |

I didn't know if I should be angry at them for decieving me ,or laugh at myself for falling for it. LWKMD The same way I felt last Tuesday in Lagos. I went from satellite town to airport junction, and took a bike to one Diamond Star Plaza. It was crazy watching that boy trying to brainwash me. I walked out on them in anger. No be their fault. Is a system failure. |
It is in our blood to attack the messenger and not the message. The issue is not with the person of Mugabe but Sodomy. |
Can we now hit the ground running? The concert is getting to an end. |
The way we Nigerians look at issues baffles me a lot. That your uncle occupies a top position does not guarantee your welfare. A business mogul was asked what he thinks will become of him if everybody was to be empowered financially just like him. He said, "I have no problems with that because, it is only a matter of time the money will flow back to where it truly belongs". I hate to do this but am being compelled to. Check out the home states, local governments, etc of our past leaders to see if there is a significant direct movement between the developments in those areas and the offices they held. Is it not obvious that Igbos real estate in the north, makes northan Nigeria appear habitable. The inequality in the north is very high compared to the south. So, what is actual value of the concentration of power in the north? Given this knowledge, i do not bother much about lopsided power sharing. More so, Nigeria is more of a capitalist state. |
Our law makers are beginning to behave like people in news paper stands. Always looking out on what to agree and disagree on. If you publish that hand over note now, they will dwell on it till this year runs out. The document is an executive documents and has nothing primarily to do with the legislators. |
The terrains in the states in the north east are too remote and complicated for our military to secure. The best approach will be to find and block their source of getting arms and funding. Generally their source of strength has to be thwarted. |
The day Nigeria adopts true federalism, we be the day secession agitation from south east will be heard last. Justice preceeds peace |
What is behind the squabble? if i may ask. |
Forget this whole story jor. Someone must have sponsored the review of the case by EFCC. It is good though, because we equally want to recover their loot and stamp out corruption. This is the kind of politicking we want. The type that generates revenue for the government. |
Amnesty for MEND should be sustained. Late Umaru musa yar' adua in his wisdom granted amnesty to the people of that region to restore peace and fairness. GEJ in his solidarity, sustained the program. PMB, in line with major reason why we elected him- to fight corruption in all government institutions, should, look into the scheme to ascertain if it was living up to its bidding. If not, streamline it for an enduring peace in the region and Nigeria in general while focusing more attention on Boko haram menace in the north east. FG cannot afford to engage itself in internal crisis emanating from all regions of the country. He should trade cautiously. |
I thought the contenders are Dogara's group and APC's quest to entrench party supremacy. That being the case, i must hear from APC's leadership and get its current position. Otherwise i will not believe it. Pray it is true though. |
Please all compatriots who believe in the recommendation of the conference irrespective of the party affiliation should join Ayo Adebanjo to clamour for its implementation. A responsible government should do what majority of his subjects want and not what it wants. The problem with all state government and of course the federal government is that every successive government would want to disassociate it's self from policies and projects of their predecessors for a flimsy reason of taking credit alone. This disconnect happens in all strata of this country. our mentality is bad. Governance is continuing and the absence of party ideology is the chief contributor to this problem. Am a 100% supporter of this administration because of my strong conviction that this administration will curb corruption. But that does not mean i would support any action that tends to rubbish a few high moments of the last administration. God bless PMB God bless Nigeria. |
The intrigues, suspense and surprises which are the basic ingredients that makes NYSC scheme fun and worth the experience are over. I miss Nasarawa State 2012-2013 |
Blame it on labour laws. Worked for 5yrs and no appointment letter. Shiiit happens here though. |
The issue of sodomy will be treated like the issue of sports in Nigeria. Nigerians will unite to vehemently resist it in all its ramifications and PMB knows. If there was anything we commonly abhor in Nigeria, sodomy is it. |
Of what end could his purported come back to PDP be? For me, this story does not make sense, and I doubt he made such move. I could be wrong though In Nigeria anything is possible. |
This only happens when you allowed yourself to be absorbed by a friend, customer, parents, clients etc, such that it becomes an herculean task to say no. Even when the negative consequences are glaring. |
It appalling that APC senators would disturb the peace of Nigerians on a path they sheer chose to follow. May be majority of them are debutants. I wouldn't know. |
OP could you please unveil the school's address |
Easter Island Easter Island covers about 64 square miles in the South Pacific Ocean, 2,300 miles from Chile. The island is home to nearly 900 giant stone statues that date back several centuries. The statues stand at an average height of 13 feet and weigh roughly 13 tons. To this day, no one knows why they were constructed or how they were moved around the island. e Rapa Nui are believed to have emigrated to the island around 300-400 A.D. It is held that the first king of Rapa Nui was Hoto-Matua, whose ship landed at Aneka, one of the few sandy beaches on the island's rock-infested coast. The question of how the Rapa Nui moved the statues around became even more puzzling after scientists decided to do some digging. Literally. Hidden from view, the heads are actually attached to bodies that extend several feet below the ground. Writing on the Wall Found on the bodies of the statues were indecipherable writings known as petroglyphs. A few of the unearthed statues feature the same petroglyphs, referred to by researchers as the "ring and girdle" design. It is believed to represent the sun and rainbow. Standing Tall The tallest statue stands at nearly 33 feet and weighs approximately 82 tons. Another statue, found lying down, was measured at 71.93 feet in length. Name That Tuna Tuna vertebrae was even found near the bottom of an excavation, backing the claim that the original carvers were rewarded for their work in meals of tuna and lobster. Source- memo.com

tete7000:Dear, it is due to impunity in the system that a leader who has interest of his subject at heart would want to defile all odds to achieve result. I have so many instances where due process had failed but will give you one. Former governor of Enugu state money laundry scandal has been in EFCC/court for the past 8 years and he even contested for senatorial seat in the last election. Am from Enugu and I know he is guilty to his marrow but he walks the street free. So, what do you make out of that. That gives you a crew into why we ought to do things differently as a matter of expediency. God bless you. |
The main objective is to recover the public fund ear-marked and disbursed to him but was never put to use. Anybody asking for evidence and why democratic principles are not been observed, should, 1. give me an evidence that the woman you call mummy is actually your mother. 2. Tell me if any probe on misappropriation of public fund subjected to democratic process ever achieved it's desired result under GEJ. How many committee did he set up in his regime to probe one case of misappropriation or the other? Was any resolved? Since we desire a different result, we must learn to do things differently. And the approach is the adoption of what I call "the concept of expediency". It is not always right to sideline democratic process but could also be expedient to sideline it when the desired result is for the interest of the Nigeria citizenry. All actions and inactions of Nigeria leadership that has human face is OK by me. God bless Nigeria. |
I had refused to read a thing about this Radio biafra. But since the headlines have become pervasive, I will check it out now. Hmmmm what the frequency again? Oh 102.1 |
It is high time the managers of this forum placed age limit to entry into political section. Sometimes I find it difficult to comment especially on a thread as crucial as this one. However PMB would not want to do things as they have always been done without achieving desired result. And given the fact that; is only a fool that does something the same way and expect to achieve different result. Hence, he has chosen to adopt the concept of EXPEDIENCY to achieving results. Those who love this country and have open mind will agree with me on the fact that, if you subjected this former NSA's case to the protocol of democratic process, it must end under the carpet. How many committee did GEJ's government set up whenever issues of misappropriation of public fund came up? Was any resolved? Does it not form part of the corruption for which we voted GEJ out? Any action of government that has human face despite it divergent to the democratic principles is very much welcomed in my view. God bless Nigeria. |
END TIME!! PASTOR JAILED IN AMERICA FOR REFUSING TO WED GAY COUPLE Photos below A 56-year-old pastor, Paul Horner, has been jailed in the United States for allegedly refusing to join a gay couple despite the legalization of gay marriage across the nation. Horner of the Christian Proctor Church in Vermont, was given a sentence of one-year jail term in the federal prison. Handing down the sentence, Honorable Myron Danus said, “Religious freedom goes both ways, Mr. Horner. “It is not your place to deny individuals the same rights that everyone else has, rights that were passed down and agreed upon in a court of law, the ultimate court, the Supreme Court. “It is not your decision whether or not you agree with the law but more importantly that you follow it and enforce it.” Speaking to journalists after the court session, Horner’s lawyer said, “We are currently disputing the guilty verdict and I am confident my client will be a free man here shortly,” said attorney Tom Downey. “Horner was just using his best judgement according to his rights and religious freedom in this country.” Investigators discovered that Horner’s church is registered with the state as a “religious corporation” which is only entitled to joining “one-man-one-woman marriages as defined by the Holy Bible.” City officials are of the view that the church authorities must comply with state and federal regulations since it is also registered as a for-profit business. President of the Vermont Family Research Committee, Steve Shand, said it is “open season on Americans who refuse to bow to the government’s redefinition of marriage.” “Homosexuals are gay. Why should Christian ministers be forced to perform and celebrate any marriage that conflicts with their beliefs? It’s a slippery slope my friend. Pretty soon these same pastors will be forced to wed animals or kitchen appliances. This is not my America!” According to NBC, Gwen Hawkins who is president of the LGBT Pride Center in Vermont said she is happy with the guilty verdict. Hawkins said, “We just want the same rights as everyone else and this guilty verdict sets a great precedent. “These fanatical Christians base their life on one verse in the Bible but they seem to forget the other 99% of the verses in the book. For example, why can’t we stone to death Bristol Palinfor having a baby out of wedlock? And what about her mother, Sarah Palin, breaking the rules ofCorinthians 14:34 which clearly state that as a woman, she is not allowed to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. But no, they like to pick the one verse in the Bible about gay people and build their camp around it.” Proctor is a town in Rutland County, Vermont, United States. The population was 1,741 at the 2010 census. Proctor is home to the Vermont Marble Museum and Wilson Castle. http://norookiemedia.com/
