Forget about the incident in the Oba’s palace for a second, because this is a thread regarding what happened in Rivers. The Governor is not castigating the Igbos, but rather decrying the activities of the IPOB, and don’t forget some Rivers, Akwa-Ibom, Cross River and Delta indigenes are members of this group. What I’m trying to say is the membership is drawn from other States and not just the Eastern States.

It is no secret that the mayhem unleashed in Rivers was done by the members of this group. The Governor as the CSO cannot just sit and fold his hands while his State is turned into a battle ground.

The northerners, Easterners and Southerners are all equals in the State. Rivers people accommodate all.

Point of correction, Akwa Ibom is not part of IPOB.

Prior to that sad incident, a whole police commissioner was also turned away by protesters at same spot. Why didn't the CP drag and show superiority by using force?

these were done by hooligans, young brats with no idea of what it takes to earn a worthy living. from our office that was vandalized and flat screens stolen, laptops ripped off, I got videos from the cctv and will not hesitate to share them with the indigenes of the state!
now, by 11.30pm,light is restored on 1 half of Ikot ekpene road, leaving the other end leading to plaza, in darkness!!
and worse still,NEPA has seen it fit to take their power at a time we need it most!

that is the normal time NEPA brings light around that area. don't blame Government for this. It all started from the protesters who were being aggressive to a prison van. when they provoked them to shooting, they don't want to be called protesters again.

It will take an UNITELLIGENT mofo not to know that the peaceful protest that happened for close to 10days WITHOUT ANY FORM of violence was HIJACKED BY THUGS SPONSORED BY EVIL POLITICIANS to attack the protesters and cause anarchy and destruction so as to destabilize the REAL PROTEST and then put an end to it by way of bringing in the military to stop the 'violence and loss of lives' (same violence the politicians orchestrated). They thrive in anarchy as if things were to go logically, their evil looting will be exposed.

Even my 8year old niece knows the evil strategy that was employed by this thieving leaders to systematically put an end to the peaceful protest which was gaining international attention. You must note that even though the protest was peaceful, our evil politicians WERE NOT AT PEACE and so had to end it using the urchins who are always at their beck and call for a few crumbs of bread.

The initial protest was a good thing. It would have made the leaders uneasy and thus sit up and stop ruling this country like it is their private estate and be more sensitive to the plight of the people but the stupid illiterate thugs and the paid internet supporters of this polithiefcians have refused to allow this country move forward. Shame to you foolish people. big shame.

As for those cowardly imps who are too blind and unbelievably stupid to see that the purpose of the protest was for a good cause and that the enemies arent Falz, DJ Switch, Davido, Aisha Yesufu, Feminist Coalition etc but this politicians and the youths who allow themselves to be used for violence and social media paid urchins who twist the truth all for the selfish aims of their heartless ogas at the top......I HAVE NO WORDS FOR YOU!

Falling from a coconut tree 15 years ago when I heard my entire community screaming. I didn't know why they were screaming.

Here is the short story. In my community, we have two oil companies (Total and Agip). For the past 5 years, Total E&P has been building a gas turbine for us, but we lost hope because it has taken so long. Agip was also building one. The plan was to give 24/7 constant free light to us based on MoU.

We do use NEPA and Total pays the bill — in billions of Naira. Meaning: we don't pay NEPA bills, but the light wasn't constant, yet NEPA keeps billing these oil companies every month.

One day, I was at a bushy garden with a friend, a little far from home and houses to pluck coconut.

All of a sudden, we heard the loudest scream on Earth and he didn't know what was happening. Since I was at the top of the coconut, I paid attention and heard, "Light don come, light don come."

I sighted a 2-storey building and saw light everywhere. Omoh, I screamed and guess what? I let go of my hands at the top of the coconut tree (out of excitement) and slammed myself on the ground. I almost died, but I stood, picked my machete and we started running home. We didn't care to carry any coconut again.

We got home and truly, it was a f*cking full voltage light unlike NEPA. It even destroyed some people's appliances and bulb.

So, for 15+ years now, we have always had free constant light and most people here don't use gas, but electric stove. It saves cost on gas cooker and fuel.

Though, once in a while, when some crazy rain bring down polls or destroy transformers, there is blackout for some days or weeks until they get fixed.

We went back to the bush after our eyes don clear to pick our coconut, but we couldn't see them. Sharp guys don move am. Fruit and vegetables were actually free and surplus back then, so we didn't care.

Thanks for my life and all the crazy/dangerous risks I took as a teenager. I had even worse adventures than this, but let me not talk about them because they are scary. I'd rather write a book with them and make money than share them for free. Content Is King. Your stories (when packaged) can make you rich, so be wise. #Smile.
