Hello gurus,

Just to recap from the last thread, I applied for study permit as a visitor in canada back in February, Got ppr in June and got my study Visa stamped while i was in canada. However the study permit wasn't mailed to me for more than 8 weeks,

Following the advise from the group, I raised webforms and reached out to the MP in my area, who came to help.
I was told that the study permit came in as a letter to my Canadian address even though I really never received it.

They asked to apply for a replacement which I did, but I just got an information letter and the port of entry letter of introduction today telling me to proceed to a POE port of entry to have a first issue of my study permit.

Please i want to ask as a Nigerian passport holder, do i have to return back to Nigeria to come back to canada to get to a port of entry?
Nb: I have only have a Canadian visitor and study visa issued.

You must submit proof that you are coming to Canada for a temporary visit.

Examples of what you can provide as proof:

A scanned copy of:

Your flight ticket departing Canada,
Your travel itinerary (e.g. places you will visit or stay, such as hotel booking),
Proof of a medical appointment.

Please gurus for applying for an open work permit with your spouse(study permit).
What do you attach for purpose of travel?

How much is your fees?
Did you pay it in full?
If I understand you have 13M naira in total as proof of funds which is 40,000 cad.
If your school fees wasn't paid in full and you have just 13M, it means the company is going to be bankrupt just financing your education. So please give more information.

when uploading forms for open work permit for spouse. My husbands is applying for open work permit since I am a Student.

please what do you upload amongst these options.
You must submit proof that you are coming to Canada for a temporary visit.

Though I have tried to read as much as possible, but still need help.
Spouse got admission and we have now confirmed seat. We are gathering data and building SOP. Plan is for us all to go at once. Kids are above 9yrs

Please What is the next stage?
What visa type should we apply for kids and me?
How soon should we start as we hope to get SOWP before leaving Nigeria.
What type of medical and can we go ahead and do upfront medical?

I think spouse is Open work permit. But please gurus correct me if I'm wrong. for the kids I don't know if its Visit or study for less than 6 months. Please if anyone can help.

Hello did you later got your letter of acceptance and how long did it take to receive it. My nephew has also been waiting for acceptance letter for the past 22 days after paying tuition deposit to Ontario technology college. He has called several times they told him they will send it each time he call or send mail

My sister is in the same shoe, she paid the tuition deposit but Centennial hasn't given the acceptance letter, its being a week. Sent email and nothing. I'm beginning to not like the school.

Hello Gurus,
Please help my sister.

"Please I need help in making a decision, I have 2 offers 1 from Seneca College and one from Centennial College..

Seneca is a bit cheaper but it says 8 months on their letter. Centinneial says 1 year minimum.
I'm just wondering which one will give me an edge for study permit"

For you to have gotten this letter means that your Visa has been stamped on your passport.( you should have it with you by now i guess)

You should now be talking about booking your flight to CA and making sure you have your covid 19 card with you. also, ensure you collect the letter of enrolment from your school as that is part of the document you will need to collect your study permit at the port of entry once you land in CA.

Most importantly: From the Above letter of introduction, it is indicated that your medicals would Expire on the 30th of September 2020. DO ALL YOU CAN TO ENTER CANADA B4 IT EXPIRED!!!!.

you CAN NOT travel to Canada with expired medicals. once expired, it will render your Visa invalid. and the process of validating it takes forever and ever. (You dnt wanna be on that shoe)

@emme I never get this letter ooo, I just have the visa stamped on my passport. I just saw a sample online and I asked. I'm just very nervous that I haven't received it on my IRCC account by now

carry the following ArriveCAN receipt, passport, letter of introduction, letter of admission, tuition receipt and any other important document carry it with you. And no return ticket is mandatory for PTa

Are you in Canada already? Study permit is usually gotten at the POE at the airport for those who are traveling. But seems you are in Canada already

If I was outside Canada..would I get a port of entry letter from ircc before going to the airport?

After searching online I found the answer to your question. Your study permit will be mailed to you through the address in Canada that you included in the application form. The study permit should arrive within 2 to 3 weeks.

But I am in Canada.
Are you saying I have to go out and come in.
Plus if that's the case I ought to have being given a POE port of entry introduction letter which I don't have also.

Hello Guru's please I still need help.

I visited Canada in February 2022 (so already have visitor visa)
I applied for Study Permit and I got approved, My passport request was June 16.
I received my Passport back on June 23.

In my envelope received I just have my study visa. I don't have a study permit. I understand this is supposed to be a physical paper authorizing me to study and work.
On my CIC account, I just have original passport request and correspondence letter.
The correspondence letter is just on Biometrics.

So now I don't know what to do. I tried calling the IRCC line but its not going through, I have submitted a webform and emailed the Ircc QUESTION@cic.gc.ca and Nairobi email. No response yet.

My course is Bus Admin and its a 2year diploma.

Please has anyone had such an experience, or any information on how to move forward. Thanks in advance
