Nairaland General › Re: The Undiluted Truth Between The Efiks And The Ibibios. by composure(op): 1:39pm On Nov 01, 2020 |
Charleys: This is a stupid topic.
Do you know that calabar's former name was called AKWA AKPA before it was changed by one white man? Meaning they're the same people.
Do you know that the efiks do not have the population to fill in their civil service when Gershom basset becomes governor and are going to employ the Ibibios to fill in those vacancies.
What is stopping the efiks from having their own children.
Do you know that northern cross River have colonized the Efiks as we speak? How the efiks is going to break free from that slavery is a story for another day.
OP stop your hate and start working towards reconciliation with Ibibios.
An old man who worked in calabar told me that in the 1970's the efiks had been singing ibibio people should go home, now that they've gone. Have you noticed who is getting it better. Who be this one? Latibó ló tí já wá? |
Nairaland General › The Undiluted Truth Between The Efiks And The Ibibios. by composure(op): 10:51am On Nov 01, 2020 |
For those of us that are yet to distinguish between the Efiks in cross river(Calabar) and the Ibibios (akwaibomites), here is another chance for you...
The Efiks are minute in terms of population but varse and influential in the affairs of cross river state. Outside the boarder line of the state, you will count one efik(Calabar)man in every fifty Ibibios(akwaibomites) you see in other states. You can hardly tell if an efik man is poor or not because of thier life style. They are contented whether they have little or not.
One of the odd things about them is that they don't believe in working too hard or enslaving themselves for another man to make ends meet. There is this adage in them that says" Efik edi mbakara". meaning, "Efiks are white people". Not that I dislike the later but, the former have a clean sheet. You will hardly find them in black books. Anybody from any state can commit crime though. ----------------------------------------------------------------- For the Ibibios (akwaibomites), no doubt are hard working sets of people. You will find them in all spheres of life.
Some of them have made great impact in life. They are prepared to do anything for money. Akwaibomites even find it difficult to withdraw from Calabar, despite the fact that akwaibom state boasts of infrastructural facilities and even more developed than cross river state.
most of the feloneus crimes, ranging from kidnapping, arm robbery, burglary, or house boy stole from master is being perpetrated by akwaibomites. The records are there in the police stations. police officers or some civilians will even attest to that.
One of the main reasons the Efiks(Calabar) disassociated themselves from the ibibios(akwaibomites) is because of thier criminal nature and when caught, they claim to come from Calabar.
The good thing is that, Nigerians are beginning to know the difference between these two. |

Marine54: Cross Rivers are still pained after losing all thier oil Wells (76 oil Wells) to us... Listen to another capital IDI.OT. Despite the fact that cross river lost oil wells to you (akwaibomites), they are very decent in nature. They still value and maintained Thier state. They will never travel to akwaibom for greener pastures, infact, they are contented with the little they have. But for you people the akwaibomites... Always dubious/criminal in nature. You claim akwaibom have oil wells and richer than cross river but, still play the boy/girl roll nation wide. You can never see an efik man or woman doing this. Akwaibomites even find it difficult to withdraw from Calabar, most of the crimes, ranging from kidnapping, arm robbery, burglary, or house boy stole from master is being perpetrated by akwaibomites. The records are there in the police stations. A police officer will even attest to that. IdontGivAfuck: As a neutral outsider pls what issue do Akwa Ibom people have with cross Rivers?
I on my own have never liked Akwa Ibom people, they are dishonest and their women are whôres
For years I have been saying it at work that cross river women are decent and loyal it's Akwa Ibom women who are whôres and give cross river women a bad name because when people hear that accent they assume the cheap woman is Calabar ..but in reality prostitution is nature to Akwa Ibom women and I will never advise anyone to marry them, but cross River women are angels . People need to stop confusing the two
A cross Rivers women will cater for her home , is hard working and loyal
An Akwa Ibom woman will sleep with every man who can offer her benefits .
Stop assumptions, all those whôres with an accent whom you assume are Calabar pls investigate you will see they are actually from Akwa Ibom.
It's virtually impossible to see a cross River woman going into prostitution but in Akwa Ibom it's like their culture.
Pls let outsiders stop joining them together they are not the same at all. It took me years to actually learn this. Whenever I heard their unique accent I always concluded they are all Calabar women but not at all !!
Thanks You are indeed a reflection of the saying that "travelling is part of education". |

Well Las Las na Nigeria.... We got sort our selves our way I don't support police brutality though. I also commend the struggle that lead to the scrapping of SARS. For me most of Nigeria's problem lies in the senate and that of our respective governors. This is where we should channel our anger to and see if the country will not change. ***Remember also that there is a SARS in every avarage Nigerian. The yahoo boys are not exempted. Mr Akpabio indeed you are a staunch.
Before you came to NDDC, lots of financial misappropriation was the order of the day.
You came in and the pendulum swing. They collectively tried to bring you down simple because you said all uncompleted contracts should be reviewed.
They even used that woman as a bait who said you sexually harassed her but, God fought for you and your they have kept quiet.
You told the upper chambers to Thier face that some of the senators/honourables are beneficiaries of these white paper contracts. You were threatened to, and asked to mention names, which you did to Thier corruption faces.
When they saw your boldness and ruggedity they quiet down and swept it under the carpet.
Indeed power is not for the weak minded. |
