Nigeria is moving without brakes to halt from danger and without steerring to turn from evil. To say that the Nigeria police is out of control is an understatement. The Nigerian police is terribly and dangerously out of control. The Police operate as if they are above the law. Some years ago police-men in Lagos were imposing their own special tax on the people. They collect money in the morning, afternoon and evening from people as feeding fee. If you go near any police station you would see them selling off cars and motor-cycles seized from people rather than give fine. You have to pay them for any case you bring to the station. The law says investigate, arrest, and prosecute but they turned it to suspect, harrass, extort, execute. I once saw a policeman and his wife break a school gate into a school and break a classroom door to beat-up a teacher who punished their child. Talk of lawlessness. The police extort money from people at road blocks every day even bribery is normal to them. |

As a result of these trades many legacy trade words of African origin found their way into European languages. |

To say that the Nigeria Police is out of control is an understatement. Nigeria police has no control whatsoever. It is an organization full of criminal elements parading themselves as law enforcement officers. Law breakers cannot be law enforcers. Criminals cannot be security. You cannot be commiting crime and be preventing crime at the same time. Nigerian policemen always feel that once they jointhe force they are now above the law. The turn themselves to investigator, prosecutor, judge, and executor all in one. They see themselves as above the Judiciary. They carry gun around killing people like hunters killing game in the forest. They block the road and begin to extort money from motorists at gun point. What is the difference between that and armed robbery? Nigeria has so many laws against bribery and corruption yet the Nigeria police that is supposed to enforce it is the number one most corrupt government agency. Too bad. |
