Those who were there saw what seemed to be tongues of fire

Rest on each of them

They began to speak in the holyghost

We have received the holyghost of promise

We have received the baptism of the holyghost

Politics / Peter Obi And The Checkmate Of 2023: A New Phase Of Nigeria's Independent by ComradeKings(m): 2:56am On Oct 01, 2022

PETER OBI AND THE CHECKMATE OF 2023
: A New Phase of Nigeria’s Independent

Let me start by clarifying. This article is strictly the opinion of the writer and it has no connection with the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi. The message might have political elucidation which is welcome; because, the timeline for the nibble writeup allows that.

The Nigeria 62 years Independence Day celebration is here. Various symbolic affirmations marking the date are seen as a reminder of who we are, our journey so far and where we are going. The chronology of event is traced back from the 1914 amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorates. This historical epoch was further solemnized in 1960 when Nigeria became independent. Moreover, the question whether we are truly independent remains an unending debate. The downtrend movement since the unstable union of 1914 is only an addition of numbers to the present and lacking progress.
Among other indications of this unstable union (marriage), are the political trends and decrees that have flipped the historic pages of Nigeria. The residual remedy employed in pushing heterogeneity in this trajectory, is the echoing statement of ONE NIGERIA. The loggerhead discrediting “one Nigeria” is that of mistrust among the Ethno-religious groups. This is a major determinant of the floating boat in which the Nigeria Home is built. Even the constitution, policies, national drives etcetera, carries ethnic and religious coloration. Participants in gatherings mostly appeared with two faces- one is that of the geopolitical zones in fact, the ethno-religious group and two, the Nigeria Face. The former is more pronounced than the later.
This condition has raised several suspicions among ethnic diversities. The mistrust that exist among ethno-religious groups have further degenerated yielding to several prediction of a breakaway. The current drift auxiliaries a more divisive tendency in the country. It has magnified discrimination, tribalism, ethnic and religious jingoism above Nigeria. This divided part and pattern have exposed the thin line that bond the marriage of 1914. The questions of birthrights in the political scene have been aggravating the drum sound of division and separation. The word One Nigeria is now covered and tied with the rope of deceit, Ethno-religious and geopolitical interest. The only gift from this downtrend is the blindfold of leadership failure, Injustice, corruption, political instability, insecurity, poverty and a dipping under-developed Nation. These trajectories have watered down 62 years struggles for true independence.
Now! The drum sound is louder, the drummers are more; the town criers are sending the message more loudly and daily. The survivors are making the final effort to safe this marriage and to correct the unstable merger of 1914. This is a melted union call NEW NIGERIA that will user in a new phase of independence. It is the last card and checkmates of the strained tunnel which will either produced light or finally burn. The rolled dice presents two options of a New or No Nigeria, a safe situation or a final burial. The only hope is the next election which is the checkmate of an arduous game.
The new phase of independence is beyond the waving flag, birthrights, discrimination, and exclusions. It is a breath of oneness, good leadership and true democracy. The new phase of independence is beyond the next election, it is beyond which region the cap represents, it is beyond mental, ethnic and religious enslavement. Get ready for the new phase of independence where every Nigerian is truly Nigerian regardless their ethnic, religious and geopolitical zones. Get ready for the new phase of independence where the son of nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody. Get ready for the new phase of independence where good leadership will be value above tribe, and “Na My Turn”.
As we celebrate our usual flag independence, let’s prepare for the checkmate of 2023 in which Nigeria history will be rewritten. Bob Dylan once said “I think of a hero as someone who understands the degree of responsibility that comes with his freedom”. Get ready to take responsibility for your freedom. Happy Independence Day, Nigerians!

SECOND CHANCE

Oh oh oh oh oh

Oh oh oh oh

Oh oh oh

-- I've made mistakes

And I can't argue that with you

I wanna live right.....

As long as I breath

I've known my wrong

And I pray that you cleanse me lord

I give you my all

As long as I breath

I am sorry I messed up

Oh Lord I am sorry I messed up

So before the throne of mercy I come

Into your presence lord

I humbly offer ....myself

-- through the Thorn partway in the world of unstableness

My eyes are on you

Jesus my rock

Through the hurt and

tears of a contrite heart lord

My eyes are on you

Jesus my rock

Politics / Nigeria At 61: The Odoriferous Nature Of Its Failure By King Kekwop M. by ComradeKings(m): 9:44am On Oct 01, 2021
A 61 years long walk to freedom that remained longer and unending_comradekings

My experience on this faithful day going to work in a commercial bus was unpleasant. While in the bus, I noticed the frowning looks of the other passengers and I perceived something was not right. I quickly paid the “Conductor”

Conductor Take your money and give me my change”

“OK Sir” he responded.

I suddenly perceived an unfriendly smell that made me uncomfortable in the bus. I thought am the only one in the bus that felt it. But I notice the pearl faces put on by the passengers and it down to me that we all perceived the odoriferous smell but yet muted. All that was on our mind is to reach our destinations. No body raised any question not until I alighted with one of the passenger and I ask.

Ma! Did you perceived the smell in the bus?

“Yes I did, I could hardly breathe… I wanted to talk but, I don’t know what kept me muted”. She concluded

This is the experience with Nigeria as a country. A 61 years long walk to freedom that remained longer and unending. In fact, the trend of the movement retrogressed effortlessly. Nigeria is like that odorous bus with passengers; all of them seems uncomfortable but yet are hopeful of reaching their destination only; not minding the nature of the smell. The driver and conductor are only interested in collecting their money not minding the unpleasant nature of the bus.

Nigeria at 61 has dwell in the basket of failures for long. The situation seems peculiar and unfathomable. The leadership conundrum has only witnessed change in personality with an ideology clouded by ethnocentric, religious, political and developmental immobility. The retrogressive nature of the country inspires Chinua Achebe “ There was a country”, where a glimmer of hope from the 1960 Independence, turns abysmal due to the weak leadership, corruption, ethnic jingoism and religious division which has force an unprogressive nation on its citizens.

Now is another Independence, and as a patriotic citizen, i'm expected to say a prayer for Nigeria, we are expected to post something hopeful for the country. This yearly activities is in the periphery of our hearts. As Nigeria grows in age, its challenges seem worst and insurmountable. The odoriferous nature of its failures is visible and critical at this particular time. The hopelessness it brings has erased the hopeful tomorrow that people prayed for.

As a country, we are more divisible than united, a mass population that seems to be a curse than a blessing. The suffering and poverty level is unmatched. This form the fulcrum of insecurity bedeviling our country. Who has bewitched us? Why is it too difficult to demand for a better country? At this retiring age, what Nigerians need is to unite above ethno-religious line and demand for true freedom. Enough of this flag independence of 1960 we still celebrate. Nigeria deserves a better landing not an unending nosedive that further our predicaments. I just hope, with the little strength left in us as a people, we can fight for a true independent. Happy 61 years Nigeria

Sincerely Yours,

King Kekwop {comradekings}

Politics / The Vile Stain Of Corruption In Nigeria Is, It’s Acknowledgement Among The Youth by ComradeKings(m): 3:53pm On Nov 02, 2016
THE VILE STAIN OF CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA IS, IT’S ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AMONG THE YOUTHS. by Kings Kekwop

The fight against corruption has taken several dimensions in Nigeria over time. I’m paled with situations of things seeing that, the fight to nabbed corruption out of the system is gaining discouragement by the same people the fight is meant for.
It is so devastating to see youths who are future leaders and the hope of generations to come consenting to immorality just to ease pass the stress of queuing up to collect what is meant for them.
I’m sharing this story not to indict the man involved but to encourage youths to always stand for the truth, no matter the situation. This is the only gateway to a better country.
Congratulation for concluding your service year, it is something to thank God for”. This lighting message came at the right time especially considering two days for Passing out Parade (POP). The agony that came after such an inspiring statement was the threat of not collecting clearance without the show appreciation tip. He acclaimed “Nobody should come and collect his/her clearance without something for me”. The message was straight forward and blunt. I thought this was all a joke but I was wrong. To my amazement, a female corps member document was flown because she paid 50naira, and she had to increase it. I told myself and anybody that cares to listen, “I’m not paying this Money!” it came to my turn to be cleared and I was asked for my ID card, which I happily provided. The next question was, “where is your appreciation?” At that time, it was fixed for a minimum of 100 naira.
I refused vehemently. “Sir, this 100 naira is for what?” I asked with all curiosity. “The Money belongs to me” He replied. It is to show appreciation to me for the period of one year you have being with us” he emphasised. I stood my grounds and refuse to offer any payment. I was asked to step aside, as he decline to clear me. It became a scene of argument as other corps members on the queue were chanting at me to leave the queue for them to pay and be cleared. That was when my heart bleeds for this country, if youths who are supposed to be change agents see nothing wrong with paying arbitrary money in the guise of appreciation.
Corruption in this country will continue to be a mirage, if our attitude as youths and Nigeria is not changed. We should learn to stand for the right thing and to be the change we seek. My clearance form was later given to me without me paying anything. The result of integrity is always rewarding and no regrets at all. #CHANGEBEGINWITHME #SAYNOTOINSTITUTIONALIZEDCORRUPTION #STANDFORTRUTH

Nairaland / General / Biafra:why We Are Inseparable As Nigerians by ComradeKings(m): 6:35pm On Nov 20, 2015
WHY WE ARE INSEPARABLE AS NIGERIANS....... I'm writing from the Northern part of Nigeria. I'm against this Agitation for Biafra. Don't quote me wrong, everybody has the right to say their mind but I am a strong believer in the Strength of our Diversity. Am not in tandem with the Igbo Language but yet Flavour and Phyno music are sweet melodies to my ear drums. In fact, their music are my favorite in the industry even though I never comprehend what they say in the songs. I still sing along and dance to it. The way I memories their lyrics gives me a sense of belonging to an Igbo Group. I love the Igbos. Our integration is inseparable. I can not shy away that we have fail as a people. But we can rebuild this together. Let's talk it out. This marriage does not need a divorce because our only alternative is UNITY. While America and the Rest of the world are UNITING to reach the MOON, we as Nigerian should not divide to reach the village-- we are indeed greater Together. #OneNigeria.. #WeAreBetterTogether... Best wishes from Comrade Kings Kekwop

Nairaland / General / Corruption In Nigeria And The Bitter Truth by ComradeKings(m): 2:57pm On Nov 08, 2015
CORRUPTION in Nigeria and the BITTER TRUTH
(Written by Comr. Kings kekwop. comradekings@gmail.com, www.facebook.com/kingskekwop, www.9icelinks., twitter:@comradekingsk)

“Corruption is something that we talk about, it is something we complain about, it is something whose negative impact we recognized, it is something that even the corrupt acknowledge a bad thing; but the irony and the tragedy at once, is that those who engaged in corruption love it. The tragedy at once is that, those of us who do not engaged in it directly accommodate it. Our level of tolerance for corruption in Africa is Amazing”. Prof. PLO Lumumba (2014)

I’m not here to bore you with the normal concept of corruption and its adverse effect on Nigeria. It is glaring to the blind that corruption is the bane of Nigeria De-development. It has become worst over the years because the people being rubbed see nothing wrong with it. They have attached emotions as the popular parlance of witch-hunting, victimization have faulted the fight against corruption. The bitter truth as Lumumba said, we celebrate thieves and vilify innocent people.

Accountability is a myth in this part of the world. Corruption has become a terror wrecking our progressive existence. Even from the infancy of our micro family, corruption has built dynasty. It is laughable to hear various generalizations on corruption such as Due Process, Sorting, Tip, Show Appreciation and what have you. This attitude towards the cankerworm has caused our nation greatly.

We now appear to be fighting corruption since the assumption of this present administration on May 29, 2015. The daily trending events on corruption reported in media outfit is laudable because it has now increase their revenue but the reality still surfaced. The fight against corruption will only surmount To Beating a Death Horse if we cannot face reality. The bitter truth is that our constitution must be revisited.

The Nigeria Constitution is so passive on corrupt officials. This is witnessed in several corrupt cases that have not yielded any positive result. These officials after numerous count charges on corruption are asked to pay stipends or go free without punishment because the eye of the law is indeed blind to the carnage corruption inflicted on the people.

At a point, President M. Buhari charged the Judiciary to join hands in the fight against corruption. This indicates that the proclivity in fighting corruption depends on the exoneration of the latent constitutional backings corrupt officials get. In the words of Lumumba, “Nigeria is a great country but is famous of producing some of the greatest thieves that the worlds have ever known”. He buttressed that “The tragedy of Africa is, Africa are in the business of canonizing thieves and demonizing its saint”.

To this end, we need to fight this with utmost vigour. As opined by Thomas Sankara, their must be certain amount of madness for critical changes to occur. Enough of the noise; lets be more proactive by making our laws harsh on corruption because what is obtainable now is a truce.

Those echoing witch-hunting should note that, if there were no witches hunting wouldn’t be an issue. We should separate people’s identity and their actions. Nigerians need to divorce the consequences of people’s actions from social status and ethno-religious background. Like our president stated, people should only fear the consequences of their actions. No one deserves a soft landing for corrupt practice because of affiliations. No matter whose ox is gored, the fight must be stern because the pain of corruption does not know religion or ethnicity.

Poverty, unemployment, terrorism, high mortality rate and so on are repercussions we have being paying by allowing corruption to strive in our country. It is not necessarily providing security to combat crime (terrorism) or building roads and hospitals. It is also not necessarily giving aid to the poor that we will applaud ourselves for making progress. In as much as, corruption is not eliminated, we are only watering the rate of poverty, unemployment, terrorism, underdevelopment to mention just but a few.

Change indeed is long overdue in our country. But this must start with our ideology; we must change our attitude as a people. Our tenacious input and push in fighting corruption must be vigorous. We are all in the dark room corruption has built for us. It is obvious that the room is dark and all we need is to light up our candles because light conquers darkness. Hon. Solomon Dalung once said, “Corruption cannot be reduced to an opinion. It must be defined by an act of the National Assembly”. On this note, our constitution must redefine its take on corruption if not; the fight will be a scratch on the surface. #ISupportTheWarAgainstCorruption!

Crime / The Dynamism Of Man by ComradeKings(m): 10:47pm On Aug 10, 2015
Dynamism of MAN
By Comrade Kings
Man is becoming more direly and wicked. The hatred that has debased man’s heart makes him more dangerous than tsunami. Of course, natural disasters come seldom while human cataclysm never stops. Reports on daily basis showing the negative activities of human beings have left me in dough whether truly love exist? This rhetoric questions keeps pounding hard in my heart.
Do we truly see ourselves as HUMANS?
Does the BEING of man know anything like LOVE?
How can we re-incarnate this BEING: a tolerant and peace loving man?
This is a clarion call to NGOs, the State and Man, to wake up against this barbaric BEING, this demon that turns man into a monster. Let’s go radical against hatred, insurgency, injustice and inhumanity. We should do more than what is on going. The man on the street needs a total rebirth; a change in mentality is vigorously needed to be implanted in contemporary human beings. “Let’s teach man how to love because love is more natural than hatred” (Nelson Mandela). I deduce in simple terms, “My only fear should be on the dangers Nature brings but not man himself” Comrade Kings 2015.

Human Intelligentsia: The Picture: power in the image!!!
By Comrade Kings
A portrait is either in black and white or coloured. The image is static because is a picture not in motion. However, the power of the picture can not be undermine. A person personality can be deduced from a picture. The viewers perceive such image and give it either a positive or negative meaning. It is therefore glaring to why people depict certain applaudable features when they want to snap. A positive face look is what is depictable to the world even in facebook.
Key of note in this nibble write up is the power of an image (Picture). The baffling task of building a new image in our venomous society has left us in a spiritual hallucination. What is the current image portrayed, is it as Terrorist, Corrupt Demons, Ethnic Jingoist or Religious Fallacious drunkards? The mental chains has robbed us from progress, it has dent our image to the mud. Our society needs a new image of oneness, an image of patriotism and love. We don’t care whether you are a Muslim, Christian or animist; all we want is to inject in your medulla oblongata the fact that “ALL MAN ARE CREATED EQUAL AND OUR UNITY IS NOT NEGOTIABLE”. Nigerians and the world must unite against corruption; insurgencies, injustice and our deplorable economy will reboots to sustainable development. I have a dream and I hope you join me in this change movement. #I Believe In Humanity! #i Believe in One Nigeria!. # I Believe In You! #WeAreHumans! #Share This and Touch Lives….#NiajaMustSucceed!
