A man with #1 billion is still struggling to fit up with his predecessors who received 130m.

*1. PREAMBLE:* The Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area leadership of the *Action Peoples Party (APP)* convened a strategic stakeholders’ meeting on Wednesday, 2nd September, 2026, at the party's LGA office in Umuanuma Nguru.

The meeting brought together members of the LGA executive, ward leadership, political stakeholders, *TMO* coordinators, candidates, campaign representatives, and other critical stakeholders within the party structure.

The meeting was convened principally to strengthen internal cohesion, promote effective collaboration between the party structure and grassroots political structures, harmonise campaign activities, and establish a coordinated framework for the 2027 general elections.

*2. OPENING PROCEEDINGS:* The meeting was presided over by the *APP* Aboh Mbaise LGA Chairman, *Mr. Sunny Anoshirionye.*

The opening prayer was offered by *Mr. Modestus Nwankwo.*

This was followed by the traditional blessing of the kolanut by *Nze Chikodi Felix Dike,* after which the Chairman formally welcomed participants and set the tone for the deliberations.

*3. AGENDA:* The meeting considered the following principal matters:

*A. Familiarisation and Integration:* To establish closer working relationships between *APP* party executives and *TMO* coordinators and facilitate effective integration of the various political structures.

*B. Harmonisation of Political Structures:* To harmonise existing structures and establish an efficient and inclusive campaign organisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

*C. Unity and Collective Responsibility:* To promote unity, discipline, cooperation, effective communication, and collective responsibility among all *APP* stakeholders.

*D. Campaign Council:* To commence the process of constituting a functional campaign council for the *APP* candidates and ensure clearly defined roles and responsibilities.

*4. MAJOR DELIBERATIONS:*

*4.1 Integration of APP Executives and TMO Structures:* The meeting extensively considered the need for greater integration between the official *APP* party structure and the various *TMO* coordinators operating across Aboh Mbaise.

It was observed that electoral success requires a coordinated structure in which the party leadership, candidates, campaign organisations, ward executives, *TMO* coordinators, and grassroots stakeholders work collaboratively towards clearly defined objectives.

The meeting therefore emphasised unity of purpose, mutual respect, consultation, discipline, and effective communication as essential principles for the success of the party.

*4.2 Address by Hon. Chibuzo Ekenze:* *Hon. Chibuzo Ekenze,* a recent entrant from the *ADC* and designated Director-General of the campaign organisation of the *APP* Senatorial candidate, *Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi (Mazi Gburuguru),* as well as Director-General of the campaign organisation of the *APP* Aboh Mbaise State House of Assembly candidate, *Hon. Valentine Nzubechi Ahaneku,* addressed the meeting.

In his remarks, *Hon. Ekenze* pledged his commitment to working harmoniously with all party stakeholders to achieve electoral success in 2027.

He emphasised that collective strength is derived from unity, noting that political success becomes more attainable when stakeholders work together with a common vision rather than pursuing separate interests.

He consequently called on both *APP* structures and *TMO* coordinators to operate as partners within one broad political family.

*Hon. Ekenze* also expressed appreciation to those who had joined and strengthened the APP platform and commended the contributions of the *APP* Aboh Mbaise LGA Publicity Secretary, *Azorji Evans (MC Prospect),* particularly in the area of party publicity and communication.

*4.3 Address by Hon. Valentine Nzubechi Ahaneku:* The *APP* candidate for the Aboh Mbaise State House of Assembly seat, *Hon. Valentine Nzubechi Ahaneku,* expressed satisfaction with the turnout and the quality of representation at the meeting.

He reaffirmed his willingness to work in close collaboration with the party leadership, campaign structures, *TMO* coordinators, ward executives, and other stakeholders.

*Hon. Ahaneku* stressed that all political structures should be properly harmonised under the *APP* platform to ensure effective coordination, avoid unnecessary duplication, and present a united political front to the electorate.

*4.4 Contribution by Aboh Mbaise Campaign DG to Hon. Attorney Dr. Mathew Nwogu (Eziaha-ka-ego), Hon. Richard Ihenna:* *Hon. Richard Ihenna (Hon. Attorney Dr. Mathew Nwogu) Campaign DG* emphasised the importance of establishing a properly coordinated campaign council for the *APP* candidates.

He called for clearly defined offices, responsibilities, and reporting structures within the campaign organisation.

He further recommended that no individual should occupy two positions within the campaign council, thereby ensuring wider participation, efficient delegation of duties, accountability, and effective utilisation of available human resources.

The proposal received favourable consideration as an important principle for the organisation of the campaign structure.

*4.5 Contribution by Mr. Stanley Maduike:* Mr. Stanley Maduike, TMO Coordinator for Umuhu Okwuato, commended the LGA party leadership for organising the meeting.

He stated that the level of unity and interaction demonstrated at the meeting provided encouragement for the party's prospects going forward.

While expressing certain concerns and reservations, he reaffirmed his commitment to the collective objective and pledged his full support and cooperation towards strengthening the APP structure in Aboh Mbaise.

He encouraged continued dialogue, consultation, and inclusiveness among stakeholders.

*5. RESOLUTIONS:* After extensive deliberations, the meeting reached the following resolutions:

*1. UNITY OF PURPOSE:* That all APP stakeholders in Aboh Mbaise LGA shall work together towards a common political objective, irrespective of previous political affiliations or differences.

*2. HARMONISATION OF STRUCTURES:* That all existing political structures, including ward structures, TMO structures, campaign structures, and party organs, should be properly harmonised to enhance coordination and effectiveness.

*3. CAMPAIGN COUNCIL:* That steps should be taken towards the constitution of a functional, inclusive, competent, and properly coordinated campaign council for the APP candidates.

*4. CLEAR DEFINITION OF ROLES:* That campaign positions and responsibilities shall be clearly defined to prevent duplication, confusion, and unnecessary rivalry.

*5. ONE PERSON, ONE POSITION:* That, as a guiding principle, no individual shall occupy two positions within the campaign council, thereby creating opportunities for broader participation and effective delegation.

*6. GRASSROOTS MOBILISATION:* That greater attention shall be given to ward-level mobilisation and grassroots engagement as essential components of the APP's electoral strategy.*

*7. INTERNAL CONSULTATION:* That concerns, grievances, and disagreements among stakeholders should be addressed through dialogue, consultation, and the appropriate party channels rather than through public confrontation.

*8. COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY:* That all stakeholders shall regard the success of the party as a collective responsibility and conduct themselves in a manner that promotes unity, discipline, mutual respect, and organisational stability.

*6. COMMUNIQUÉ: The Aboh Mbaise LGA leadership of the *Action Peoples Party,* having reviewed the issues arising from the meeting, reaffirms its commitment to building a united, disciplined, inclusive, and effective political organisation capable of delivering electoral success in 2027.

The meeting recognised that the strength of the party lies not merely in individual candidates or political structures, but in the ability of all stakeholders to work together, respect one another, coordinate their activities, and place the collective interest above individual considerations.

SILENCE IS ALSO A DECISION
A Response to Hon. Uchenna Okoro Kalu's "Setting the Record Straight"

Some statements are written to inform. This one was written to end a conversation before it could really begin. It will not work. Read it once, and you hear a man defending himself. Read it twice, and you hear everything he left out.

Nobody accused Hon Uchenna Okoro Kalu of signing anything for PRESCO Plc. That is a fight he invented so he could win it. The real question the one his nine paragraphs tiptoe around like a crack in the floor is this: when Abam needed a voice, where was his?

He tells us, solemnly, that legislation, representation and oversight are his duties. Good. Then let him be judged by them. On the single most consequential land question to face our people in a generation, which of those three has he exercised? Not one. Not one sentence in his entire statement commits him to defend Abam land. Not one line says PRESCO must obtain the free, prior and informed consent of the true owners before a single hectare changes hands. When a man will not say that in the middle of a land war involving his own people, he has told you which side he is on. Believe him.

He Was Not Alone in That Room

"I was not at that meeting," he offers, as if that settles it. It does not. The room was not empty, and it was not full of strangers. When Abia State officials sat with Abam diaspora leaders on that Zoom call, the people watching were the custodians of this land themselves: the EzeOgo's of Abam. Jame Ogbuka Umekwe. HRH Robert Nwankwo. Mrs Chinyere Nkele. Dr Emmanuel Onyeani. Hon. Lukeman Ukara. Chief Okechukwu Chukwu. Names that carry generations. Names that do not casually condemn a land deal and yet several of them did, plainly, on that call.

Into that room, Hon. Uchenna Okoro Kalu did not say "this is not my matter." He said it was already decided. "This is the state government decision... that was all." Not my words. His. Preserved. Timestamped. Sitting untouched on a recording held by people who were actually in the room, while he asks Arochukwu to trust a statement drafted weeks later, under pressure, by people who were not.

Release the recording. If it says what he claims it says, this costs him nothing but five minutes and a phone. A man who trusts his own words does not need a communications team and three weeks of silence to remember what he said. He plays the tape. Every day it stays locked in a drawer is itself a confession.

Do the Arithmetic With Us

Here is the number nobody in his nine paragraphs mentions. In a meeting with the Abia State government, PRESCO's own chairman is said to have put a figure on the table: roughly $200 million to acquire the land against an estimated $2.25 trillion the company stands to extract from it over the next 25 years. If those are the numbers PRESCO itself is comfortable stating in a room full of government officials, sit with what that means. That is not a purchase. That is not a partnership. That is a company telling the state, to its face, what our land is actually worth to them and the price being discussed for our inheritance is a rounding error against it.

$200 million buys 100 years of extraction. It does not buy back what our people spent generations building, and it does not buy back what earlier generations of Abam sons bled to defend. Land is not inventory. It does not depreciate, and it does not expire when the lease does. What PRESCO is offering is temporary. What we would be giving away is forever.

That is the trade Hon. Uchenna Okoro Kalu has stayed silent about. Not a technicality. Not a matter of legislative jurisdiction. A permanent transfer of Abam's future for a payment that will be spent and forgotten while PRESCO's shareholders are still collecting returns on our soil 100 years from now and our grandchildren are asking why nobody who had a voice used it.

A leader who will not defend his people against a trade this lopsided is not neutral. He is choosing the side that pays out now over the side that has to live with the consequences forever. That is not statesmanship. That is a man optimizing for the news cycle he is in, not the century his constituents have to live through.

A Second Silence That Deserves Its Own Answer

While Hon Uchenna Okoro Kalu measures his words about a meeting he claims not to remember, there is a second silence sitting on his desk right now: why is the Ministry of Lands refusing to register land for Abam sons and daughters their own inherited land on the claim that PRESCO has already acquired it?

Sons of this soil, trying to formalize title to what their fathers and grandfathers held before any of us were born, are being turned away at the counter because a foreign-linked company says the land is already spoken for. Not proven. Not adjudicated. Not consented to by a single Abam family. Simply “claimed” and that claim alone is apparently enough to lock our own people out of their own registry. If the Majority Leader has oversight over land matters affecting his constituency, this is the moment oversight means something. His silence on it is not an oversight. It is a choice.

Four Questions Arochukwu Deserves Answered Now, Not After the Election

1. If he had no role in that meeting, why did the EzeOgo's, our traditional custodians, and diaspora leaders leave it believing the matter was closed closed enough that several of them pushed back against him in the moment, on the record?
2. If PRESCO's own numbers are real, why has he never once stood up to say a $200 million payment against a $2.25 trillion extraction is not a deal Abam should accept?
3. Why does a statement built around what he is "not" responsible for contain zero sentences defending what he is the land, the future, and the trust that put him in that seat?
4. Why is the Ministry of Lands turning away Abam sons at the registry on PRESCO's word alone and why has Hon Uchenna Okoro Kalu said nothing about it?

Silence, at a moment like this, is not neutrality. It is arithmetic. Add it up.

Abam Is Not For Sale Neither Is the Truth

Arochukwu does not need another statement polished by an aide at midnight. It needs Hon Uchenna Okoro Kalu to stand in daylight, in front of the people who elected him, and say plainly, publicly, without a lawyer's hedge that Abam ancestral land will not be transferred without the free, prior and informed consent of its rightful owners, that no Abam son will be turned away from registering his own inheritance, and that a permanent loss for a temporary payment is not a trade he will let stand in his name.

Until he says that, out loud, on the record, every disclaimer he issues means exactly what this one means: a man guarding his seat for now, at the cost of what his people will carry forever.

The challenge stands. The recording exists. PRESCO has already told the state government what our land is worth to them. The only thing missing is his voice.

AN OPEN LETTER TO HON. UCHENNA OKORO KALU

Honourable Uchenna Okoro Kalu,

I am not writing this because an election is approaching, nor to spread rumours. I am writing because the controversy surrounding Abam land raises a fundamental question of representation: when one of the five clans you were elected to represent needed its voice carried into the rooms of power, what did you actually do?

The Abia State Government’s engagement with PRESCO Plc/SIAT over large-scale agricultural investment and land has generated serious concerns in Abam. When Abam stakeholders, including people at home and in the diaspora, met with government officials seeking answers, you were present. Your reported response was: “This is the state government decision… that was all.” If that quotation is inaccurate or incomplete, correct the record publicly. But if it accurately reflects your position, then Abam deserves to know why its elected representative appeared to accept a government decision rather than interrogate its implications for the communities he represents.

When I raised this concern, some of your supporters accused me of exploiting the land controversy for political purposes. But questioning decisions affecting ancestral land is not political opportunism; it is citizenship. The issue should not be whether Ike Okorafor benefits politically from asking questions. The issue is whether the people whose land, livelihoods and future may be affected received the representation they were entitled to expect.

And we must be precise. Whatever the exact legal status of the proposed acquisition, allocation, lease, concession, or investment arrangement, the questions remain: What land is involved? What rights have been granted or proposed? Which communities consented? What compensation, equity, employment or community benefits are guaranteed? What protections exist for farmers and future generations? And, Honourable Kalu, what did you personally do to ensure these questions were answered before decisions affecting your constituents advanced? These are questions that deserve documents and answers not political insults.

You were not elected to represent one clan. Arochukwu State Constituency comprises Abam, Aro, Ihechiowa, Ututu and Isu, five clans under one mandate. Whoever occupies that seat must behave like the first son of all five. When one part of the family believes its inheritance is threatened, its representative should not merely explain what government has decided. He should ask difficult questions, demand transparency, insist on consultation, and make the people’s position impossible to ignore.

This is therefore bigger than PRESCO, bigger than me, and bigger than the next election. It is about the standard by which representation should be judged. A legislator may not possess the executive authority to allocate or revoke land, but he carries a representative responsibility to speak, question, advocate and account to his constituents. That is the responsibility for which I am holding you accountable.

So I ask you publicly and respectfully: What specifically did you do before, during and after these discussions to protect Abam’s interests? What position did you communicate to the government? What consultations did you hold with the affected communities? What safeguards did you demand? And what will you do now?

The people do not need propaganda from either side. They need the record.

The seat you occupy was never given for comfort. It was entrusted to you to represent people when representation becomes difficult. Ultimately, Arochukwu voters not supporters, opponents or social-media commentators will judge whether that mandate was exercised when it mattered.

Abam is not for sale. Neither is our right to ask questions. And when the time comes, our memory of who spoke, who acted, and who remained silent will matter.

Today, Thursday, 27th August 2026, Attorney Dr. Mathew Nwogu hosted a strategic and highly engaging meeting with the *APP* Ward Women Leaders and *TMO* Women Leaders, focused on strengthening unity, deepening collaboration and renewing collective commitment ahead of the 2027 general election.

The meeting opened with prayers and the formal introduction of members, setting the tone for a productive engagement centered on teamwork, mutual respect and a shared vision for the success of the party and its candidates.

Addressing the gathering, the *APP* LGA Women Leader, *Dr. Bebian Owuchuruba,* emphasized the need for greater cooperation among the women. She stressed that irrespective of whether one operates within *TMO* or serves as an *APP* Women Leader, everyone remains part of one family working towards one common objective.

She also advised against excessive emphasis on financial considerations, while calling on everyone to shun gossip, division and actions capable of damaging the image and credibility of fellow members.

The meeting concluded with a renewed spirit of unity, cooperation and determination. The message was clear: success will not come from isolated efforts, but from a united team committed to one vision, one purpose and one common goal.

NDI ABAM, THE LAND IS THE QUESTION - DON'T LET THEM CHANGE THE SUBJECT

A response to Hon. Lukman Ukara's open letter on the PRESCO land matter

Ndi Abam. Read the letter again. Nine points, hundreds of words, and not one line of it tells you your land is safe.

That is the whole story.

They want you arguing about a phone call. You should be arguing about your land.

Fifteen communities. Fourteen thousand hectares. A foreign-owned conglomerate and a state government moving to formalize a deal over ancestral land that has never belonged to any government to give away. That is the matter. And what does Hon. Ukara give you instead? A dispute about who said what in a private phone call with a Captain. A demand for a recording. An oath at Okikeizu Amaelu.

Ask yourself: who benefits when Ndi Abam is arguing about a recording instead of arguing about the land?

Not you.

He told you himself who he works for

Read his own words back to yourself. He says his "involvement in the PRESCO land matter arises principally" because he is "an appointee of the Abia State Government." He says it plainly not as confession, but as credential. As if working for the very government negotiating away your land is a qualification to tell you how loudly you're allowed to object to it.

That is not a man defending Ndi Abam. That is a man defending his office.

And when a man on the state payroll tells you to lower your voice and "use other channels" at the exact moment your ancestral land is on the table you do not owe him your silence. You owe yourselves the truth.

The 10% question deserved an answer. It got a threat instead.

This is the part that should stop every one of you cold. Confronted with a direct allegation a 10% agent fee Hon. Ukara did not show you a document. He did not show you a disclosure. He did not show you anything that proves he has no stake in this deal.

He threatened a lawsuit. He invoked "spiritual" remedies. He told you he would defend his "integrity" with everything except the one thing that actually defends integrity: proof.

Ndi Abam knows the difference between a man who has nothing to hide and a man who reaches for a threat the moment the question gets specific.

They are not trying to silence Captain Usim. They are trying to silence you.

Read the conclusion of that letter carefully. It does not ask for dialogue. It asks your traditional leaders to strip a man of standing to declare him a "self-imposed leader" and shut him out of speaking for Ndi Abam at all.

Why? Because right now, for the first time in this fight, this matter is in public view. People are watching. Questions are being asked out loud, where the government cannot quietly manage them behind closed doors. A united, visible Abam is Presco's hardest negotiation. A divided, quieted Abam is its easiest.

That is what this letter is really asking for. Not truth. Silence.

The record is already clear

Ukara does not deny that Presco/SIAT majority-owned from Belgium is pursuing your ancestral land. He does not deny that this community has never given the kind of free, prior, and informed consent that the law requires before land like this changes hands. He does not deny that a government adviser inserted himself into your community's response before your community had even settled on one.

Those facts stand unanswered. Everything else in that letter is noise built to bury them.

Ndi Abam do not take the bait

This is not a fight about a private conversation. It was never about a private conversation. It is about whether fifteen communities and their ancestral land get a say in their own future, or whether that future gets decided in a boardroom between a foreign conglomerate and a state government, while the people asking the hard questions get told to stand down.

Abam is not for sale. Say it again. Abam is not for sale.

Stand with the people asking the questions. Not the people demanding you stop asking them.

Arochukwu did not send a representative to umuahia simply to hold a powerful title while our constituency's most basic needs went unmet year after year.

Leadership without genuine accountability to the people who elected you is not leadership at all, it is a job title attached to a nice office and very little else of substance for the people back home.

2027 is about restoring real meaning to the words " majority " and " leader" together, and specifically for us , the people of Arochukwu who have waited long enough.

*Hon. Prince Ike okorafor*, is not interested in holding a title for its own sake. His interested in earning it , every single day, through results you can see and feel in our own community.
