Am not surprised because the Igbo have continuously made it clear that they will not vote a Southwest candidate after Obasanjo's and Osinbajo's eight years as President and vice respectively.

I wonder how we intend building a strong and virile nation without Equity and Justice.

Coward.

Igbos are not cowards. This useless Orji Uzor Kalu is a bastard. I have never meet a single coward Igbo. Orji Uzor Kalu is a useless bastard.

The Presidency will never be zoned to any village. It will never happen. Obasanjo contested against Alex Ekwueme, Emeka Ojukwu and some other clowns and defeated them all. The Presidency was not zoned to Obasanjo's village.

2023 is the turn of the Igbos, bit Igbos must bring out their best brains and mobilize for them and prepare their candidate to face candidates from other region. Power is fought for and won, power is never given as a gift.

Presidency will never go to the North in 2023. The worst of us will never continue ruling the best.

Orji Uzor Kalu should go and ask his mother whom his biological father is. This idiot is not an Igbo because there is no single Igbos coward on earth.

Don't you think there are things Kalu knows which you and I don't?

Less I forget you're not Igbo.

The seed of hatred sown by Nzeribe between Yorubas and Ibos as a result of his actions in the 1993 election crisis is still there till today.

I don't want to go into the crisis in Liberia and Sierra Leone. He supplied the guns and armunitions used. God is the judge of all His creatures.

I recall the fight in Lagos then between Yorubas and Ibos, and lots of people died and properties were burnt.

That's Francis Arthur Nzeribe life for you. A life that profits from killing, maiming, destruction, and crisis.

Today, the distrust between Yorubas and Ibos remain visible bcoz of one man.

No, the political distrust between Yoruba and Igbo did not start as a result of Nzeribe's role in the annulment of the 1993 election.

The Igbo and Yoruba are two elephants with their unique strengths. There were minor political disagreements between both sides before 1967, but the civil war and the role Awolowo played is the major reason for the distrust and not Nzeribe and his ABN.

Abacha was a Weapons expert and it was the Officers at the War front that gave the Specifics of the Weapons requirements

Orji Kalu went to School with Gen Abacha’s son and was how he got close to him

Corruption was not this rampant in those days so the man on the front lines couldn't have decided the contractor to supply arms . The role you are ascribing to Abacha is beyond him as such influence could only be weiled by the likes of TY Danjuma, Awolowo, Obasanjo, Adekunle and other high officers and main protagonist's of the war.

I don't know if he was a gun Renner or not but don't doubt that age as Gowon was about that age too. Nigeria was just emerging so there were opportunities available to them at a relatively young age .

How do you think Arthur Nzeribe became very close to Gen Babangida and Abacha ?

it was as a result of his role as a Weapons and Ammunition supplier to the Nigerian Army during the Civil War.

He was a Businessman to the Core

I do not agree with you. In every sense of the word Arthur Nzeribe was already established as a business man before the civil war. For someone who worked closely with Nkuruma of Ghana, so I don't think his closeness to Abacha and IBB has anything to do with his purported civil war role. Even if he did supplied arms to Nigeria during the war Abacha and IBB were foot soldiers and so were not involved in negotiations and contracts of arms supply or is Orji Uzor Kalu's closeness to IBB and Abacha also as a result of his civil war role?

Military guys and civil corrupt leaders go out of their way to cultivate relationship with established business men thereby using them to lounder cash that probably is the reason for the closeness between him, Abacha and IBB.

Nnamdi Kanu is the founder of Ipob. He hired Simon Ekpa to run Radio Biafra after he was arrested Simon Ekpa: Biography Of The New Director Of Radio Biafra. Simon Ekpa broke

Just to put the records straight as this a public forum. Nnamdi Kanu is not the founder of IPOB. He merely usurped the name and bastardized the efforts of the intellectuals who founded the body.

Late Dr. Dozie Ikedife and a few other Igbo intelligentsias founded the IPOB. You can Google Bailey Human Rights Commission for confirmation.

One word Biafra, It's the thing the ethnic minorities of the area fear of. and very often what you fear is what you hate.

The same way Ibos feel about the perceived Fulani hegemony is the same way minority ethnic groups In the lower Niger area feel about Igbo domination.

Most of the Biafran proponents are of Igbo origin they did(do) not seek the opinions and feelings of the inhabitants of the area before you include them in your seccesionist maps.

The hate is just sub-conscious fear, apart from the politics the peoples of the area have more or less asmilated.

Take the politics away and apart from the different languages you would not be able to tell an ibibio man from an Igbo Ijaw or Iwerre man.

The people from other parts of Nigeria is people of these area as the same people.

This is what I have observed

Much as I hate people who can't put their warped opinions across without abuse, am glad to say that once in a while one comes across fair minded analysis, which is what's sustaining sane people on this forum.

Above is one of those fair minded analysis.... Kudos Subsaharan.

Most Yorubas are fair minded, they understand Obasanjo has taken their turn, coupled with Osinbajo's eight years as vice that's why south western groups and individuals with consience are in support of a Nigerian President of South East extraction.

The mentality of the people in authority in this country leaves a lot to be desired. Just look David Marks response. "Why should the party refund them " A former Senate President who has refused to purge himself of military arrogance. What a shame.
What happens to simply telling the press that the party will decide on that at the appropriate time.

Who cares wether you have anything against Ikwere or not?
At least we know what is unique about Igbos is that you find them in prisons around the world for drug peddling. China, Malaysia, India. Thailand etc, and you are talking about values? lwkmd! The whole world know those that have criminality deeply etched in the gene. The Igbos! No real Ikwere will take up so called Igbo identity to curry favour because that smelly identity is a liability.
Keep drooling with stupidity thinking you are making sense. Imbecil,e

Your response above is the mentality of an average Ikwere person. Always reacting abusively or vicerally in an intellectual contest.
I refuse to stoop to your level. I will only react to the issues you reaised and leave your unsavoury comments to hunt you.

Crime is universal and is not in any way peculiar to the Igbo as the last I checked the Igbo do not grow opium. While am not holding brief for drug dealers, the drug trade is not in anyway the exclusive preserve of the Igbo or can you in all honesty swear that there's no Ikwere person dealing on drugs?

You claim the Igbo identity your tribe usurpe is a liability, yet you would still probably marry an Igbo woman and give your unborn child an Igbo name. Isn't this absorb? Till date, it's a thing of pride for an Ikwere man to marry an Igbo woman. The Benin Kingdom you claim would never as a result of "healthy pride" adopt an Igbo identity, because they know who they are and are proud of their heritage. Where's the Ikwere pride?

Chibuike Amechi climbs the hill for people to hear him while claiming that he's Igbo and Ezwo Wike says he's not Igbo. Two prominent Ikwere sons. How do you people cope with this extent of confusion in your identity?
Stay off my mention.

I keep wondering what is so unique about the Ikwere?
What are they known for?
Their values Worthy of emulation?
Or it's all about occupying a natural ly endowed geograpycal location?

Taking up Igbo identity to curry favor, and in some instances hiding under same assumed identity to commit crime is fraudulent.

As for Wike's ambition, it's quite unfortunate that Buhari has so lowered the bar as per who could aspire to the office of the President , otherwise we should not be wasting precious time discussing the candidacy of a Thug.

Ikpeazu as his name depics will always come last in reasoning, utrance, performance, choice etc.
What stops him from contesting? or is Wike not a fellow governor from a minority tribe?

I have absolutely nothing against Ikwere as a people because they are not in anyway in competition with the Igbo, but Wike as Nigeria's President is a No,No for me because there's nothing presidental about him. So uncouth in utrance. And who will vote him anyway. If he manages to acquire the PDP ticket it will be an easy victory for the APC irrespective of who their candidate would be.

post=112231405:
SOUTH EAST: IS IT NOT TOO LATE?

We have read the recent transmissions by Senator Bukola Saraki directed at our Igbo tribe. We have deliberately kept mum on this as we had earlier resolved to speak less on Igbos as regards the 2023 elections, Presidency having said quite a bit.

However seeing as some of my brethren have swallowed the cheap bait, I will chip this in just to keep the reality before us, at least for posterity sake. Truth is bitter but it's still the best medicine.

My people say; 'He who does not remember where the rain started beating him, will not remember where it stopped'.

REWIND TO 2014.
A new National Party was being conceived. Political Parties, political players and Regions were being wooed to the new alliance.

'We' Igbos (read South East) vehemently refused to touch it even with a long pole. We packaged, sold to ourselves and bought the baseless propaganda that it was an Islamic alliance that would birth an "Islamic" and "Hausa" Party. Simply because those our brethren heavily invested in the PDP at the time were afraid of losing their vested selfish interests.
Till today I'm still trying to fathom the basis for that wicked and twisted deceit especially as many of those Igbo elites who sold that dummy have since ported to the same APC.

We failed to even identify with that new Alliance. Hence the Party, APC was birthed without any remarkable input from us or presence. The few amongst us who aligned were called all kinds of names and abused to high heavens by us even when they were proven right afterall.

Thus the few Igbos who were part of it were at best fringe players as they didn't have the required clout to make serious demands and do the necessary political wheeling and dealing required in Politics to strike the hard bargains since politics is all about interests and numbers. They were even suspect, so much so that it was only their personal political sagacity that gave them whatever they got.

That Party went on to win the Presidential Election which in truth, most of us never believed it could or would, because of our half baked permutations and poor understanding of Nigerian politics. But it did.

Curiously we turned up at the fore front of telling this same Party how it should share it's 'spoils of war'. We became hypocritical moral champions with an over bloated sense of entitlement. Who does that, in all political reality and practicality? But we did, even while vehemently and vociferously still refusing to shift our position, style and rhethoric.

We dug in. Supported every bad thing and person against the Party, the elected President and the Administration while denying any and every good done to and for our Region.

Fast forward to where we are today. Almost four years after the 2015 misadventure, we have stayed put at 2015, refusing to move forward, refusing to shift grounds, refusing to play pragmatic politics, telling ourselves the same lies we cooked and bought in 2015 and some more.

Now barely 5 months to another election, we have started again saying "APC cannot give Presidency to Igbos in 2023". "Buhari cannot hand over to an Igbo man because Buhari hates Igbos". "APC is deceiving you", bla bla bla.

Of course. We will believe Saraki, who has only but a fanthom dream of becoming President and whose only known record is selfishness but we can't believe Buhari who's already President and who has a record of voluntarily picking two great Igbo sons as running mates in the past? Chukwu aju.

It is interesting and vital to note here that the PDP which many of us still proudly support and adore was in power for 16 solid years and in those years there were 4 Presidential Inaugurations and on none of those was an Igbo man found worthy by the PDP of even Vice Presidency and we are still bold to say it is the APC that has not even finished one and a half tenure that doesn't want to give power to Igbos. Odi nma

NOW; Seriously, let's be sincere. As things stand today politically, why would the APC even hand power to us Igbos in 2023?
On what grounds?
On what records?
On what politics?
Is power given to anyone?
Is it an appeasement or a gift?

The APC is a political party. The main focus of a political Party is to hold power and keep it to enable it deliver on its agenda. So if the APC reads that the SE does not want the Presidency or does not have the capacity to help them win and keep power, they will stick with the regions that can and work with individuals who are interested.

Make no mistake, I have always said, I do not blame us Igbos for the decision majority of us took in 2015. It's our right. But continuing to pretend that it was other regions, Buhari or the APC that made us do what we did then or remain where we are today is purely self deceit and I refuse to play that ostrich game.

As far back as 2014, I and many others made that argument that Igbo Presidency was very feasible in 2023, ONLY under under the APC, ONLY IF we did a couple of things right politically. I personally continued to speak loudly on that even after the 2015 elections until when I realized that we were not ready to play the politics that was required and now I dare say it may be too late. Or is it not? Time will tell.

For now, we can continue to tell ourselves that we cannot hold the Presidency of Nigeria. I heard and read many of our brethren go from PDP to Biafra/seccesion (read IPOB) to Referendum to "Igbos do not need Presidency but Restructuring" etc forgetting that all that didn't lie squarely with us alone. We think other regions are not reading our body language?

I really don't care what Saraki writes or says because they've all come to realize that it's very easy to play us like a flute. So like Saraki, like Fani Kayode, like Fayose, like Atiku, even Jonah Jang of all people, they keep playing us.

We've learnt not to bother ourselves anymore to avoid unnecessary mentions from nonentities.
As some of us have said, it's good governance we want, even if only one village will be producing the Presidents. So be it.

Ka Chineke mezie okwu.

All thanks to Tinibu, for the long term danger of this strategy as you said. The role he played in 2015 is the cause of all these drama.

The role he's playing now is even fuelling it. If APC had micro zoned to the South East PDP would have done the same, but an individuals life long ambition had thrown all that to the trash can.
