you don't follow very well

the whole POINT is that after almost three years, 2face's music videos are STILL popular

that website is updated weekly and 2face's music video, along with those naija and ghanaian movies are the most requested video/films from that hugely popular site.

it says a lot about an artist when his first album is has sold almost 6 million, his second album still at almost 3 million and counting and his one VCD that was released some 3 years ago is STILL among the top 10 in sale in 2007. that's amazing, LOL. it's clear that there is interest in 2face's old stuff, as well as his new stuff and that's something to be very proud of.

as bad as people claim 2face's new videos to be, check out the hits on youtube compared to faze's new videos (most of which many people won't even bother to take time to upload). i mean, the buzz and the interest isn't there, plain and simple. that's a FACT

you can think faze is better but i don't. i actually like faze but i think 2face is more talented and more creative. faze does have some nice videos though. no one ever denied that.

Faze's video is less than two months and it has gathered more momentum than what 2face video gathered in ?^{who cares}

just another example to show 2face's success. every news outlet is still making a big deal about his small leg wound. every internet still has his picture plastered on the front page to garner more hits. i mean, it's just obvious.

@ sect () or whoever (sorry, can't remember if it was you): i don't really care WHO wrote the song or produced it. I was referring to the background music used in right here (which was created years before kpo kpo di kpo) and faze's joint. they are very very similar (i first read that from a faze fan on a blog and then downloaded it myself to see)

faze seems like and i like one or two of his songs but he's not in 2face's league and just a fact. while d'banj doesn't strike me as very talented (faze has him beat in talent dept. imo), i do agree that d'banj's success level is closer to that of tu's than faze. ditto p square

anyway, i'm still all for faze bettering himself b/c at the end of the day, i support ALL naija people doing well and earning clean money

at mr me too: NICE ONE! i was JUST going to point out the FACT that when you handle your business independently, you must then also handle all the promotional, marketing and distribution aspects of the music as well which costs A LOT. so one can in fact say tu has to give the label money but trust, the man also saved a lot of $$$ and wahala by having big bros handle stuff for him as well.

and yes, it's a known fact that even if 2face only gets some 30%, the fact that he's sold some 3 times was faze has with independant still will probably get 2face the same if not more than faze (who you're assuming gets much more than 30%). LOL

and yes, it's all moot anyway as naija artist rely almost solely on concerts to make $$$ and we all know whose fees are higher and who performs more

2face is the one with a unique voice. Not faze. THAT's why African Queen was successful. As Me Me Too pointed out, had ANYONE else covered AQ, it would not have seen the success it saw internationally. It's a good song but what makes it spectacular is 2face and nothing else.

and speaking of "stealing", that kpo kpo di kpo background music sounds strangely familiar. in other words, the music sound almost identical to that of 2face's "right here". Go and take a listen o!
