Good morning gurus in the house,

I have a Toyota Corolla 2010. I took the car to a filling station for oil change and the guy there recommended Mobil 20W-50 which I have continued to use 2 more times.
I decided to read the car manual and found out I have been using the wrong engine oil as the manufacturers recommended SAE 5W-20 or 0W-20 engine oils.

My questions are thus:
1) Do I continue to use the 20W-50 or should change to the manufacturers recommendations
2) If I need to change to manufacturers’ recommendations, what steps or precaution should I take in making the transition back to manufacturer’s recommendation?

if it was purchased as a tokumbo just go ahead and change it to the recommended oil and keep an eye on your exhaust smoke and oil level
