I just changed the condenser today, according to the AC technician he said the condenser has expired, after changing the condenser I noticed that the AC does not cool unless I drive the car then it starts to cool, the technician said the Compressor is weak, that I need to change the compress, but before I got home the gas leaked, it started blowing just hot air, not cooling, what could be the cause ? The compressor or what ?

The AC technician said the Compressor cost 60,000 naira, which I highly doubt, so I want to really confirm if that is the actual price for the compressor

If you’re buying it as a tokumbo then you’d better use any good brand of 5w30 weight oils

Kindly assist with the attached scan result ...car is Honda baby boy automatic 4 plug , car drives roughly early in the morning for about 3 mins but once warmed up every thing goes smoothly...also it jerk for the first 5 mins of drive when switching from gear 1 to 2 , as a matter of fact, it will not successful shift to gear 2 and the D4 blink immediately...will have to off and start again ....but if I start the car in the morning, leave it to warm for 5 mins before shifting to drive everything works perfectly for the rest of the day even if park for another 8 hrs before driving again , the issue is always in the morning, I have to let it warm up for like 5 mins before driving off to enjoy smooth shift of gear and smooth engine acceleration...I scan the car and attached is the result I want to know exactly what to fix , thank you

You should have cleared the codes first before scanning again. I believe most of the codes you have are stored ones and not current

P1298: electric load detector circuit high voltage (fusebox wahala)

P1382: cylinder position sensor intermittent interruption (check crankshaft sensors)

P1456: evaporative emissions control system leakage (fuel tank leakage)

P1486: cooling system malfunction (check ect sensor)

P1607: engine control module or powertrain control module malfunction (brainbox wahala)

As i said try to remove your battery head overnight then drive it to have the technician scan it again and revert back so we can know the current fault codes

This is just a regular limp mode error and there are over 100 things that could cause it on a bmw

Op your iacv is not working well. You should check and change it plus scan the car for codes

are you still driving it with the jezco oil inside ?

If i were you I’d just buy another gearbox and then use that original fluid in your picture to lubricate it

If you know you can still manage it with the symptoms it’s giving you then change the fluid and see what happens

After you scanned the car the technician should have told you the codes for why your car check engine light is on

Thanks conner44. I was Apo in Abuja to scan the car today using LAUNCH X431 CRP 808 full system diagnostic OBD Scanner, but to my amazement, no fault code was detected. The guy tried checking a couple of times but nothing was detected. It read NO FAULT CODE.

He later drove it on a ramp and saw that the Connector is vibrating and not smooth as it revolves. So he said we would need to get another one but while he called a gear specialist, he was told that it's likely that connector and the chains in the gear box that the car uses pulley of which the two parts are so hard to come by.

So I had to leave his workshop. Thanks for the support everyone. It's appreciated.

Is your check engine light on ? Is your D light still blinking? If your drive light was blinking when the technician performed the scan then there should be codes

Except if the scan tool used wasn’t powerful enough to scan the whole systems of the car . You need a scan tool that’s capable of reading codes from both the engine and transmission too. I’d advise you to check someone else because Not all scanners are able to do so

Since the technician noticed that the problem is from inside the gearbox then I’d advise you to change the fluid and see if there’d be any improvement before thinking of driving the car any further or buying another gearbox

Please I am in between opinions based on the jerking issues I had after using Jeezco palm oil for my Honda City 2006 which I earlier explained.
Please how long can I still drive it before changing the transmission. I learnt transmission is 200k and it's not within my reach now.
Also Original Honda CVT it around 6,500 per litre or so, can changing the oil help reduce the jerky and gear shifting issues, and the occasional blinking of the Drive D signal when engine is started? and for how long can I keep managing that before changing the transmission. I intend scanning the car perhaps there are other issues to be addressed too aside the gear and what are the chances of repairing the Body Value of the CVT gears pending when a new one will be procured. Sincerely I need experienced and sincere counsel. The deed has been done. Thank you all. I am grateful.

The truth is that from the first day that your mechanic poured the palm oil into your gearbox and you drove out of his workshop the damage to your gearbox started happening

The more kilometers and months you drove the car with the wrong oil in it the more the damage occurred and things inside your gearbox got spoilt until it reached the stage where it began giving you bad shifting issues

If you decide to change out the palm oil and pour in the recommended cvt fluid at this moment it will stop anymore damage from being done BUT it will not reverse the damage that has already been done inside the gearbox because of the wrong oil used so you’d be managing it with it’s current issues henceforth hoping it gets a bit better with time

If you keep driving it with palm oil inside it will keep worsening the damage being done inside the gearbox until it spoils finally it might take days, months or maybe years but it MUST kpafuka sooner than later

If you’re opportune to meet capably skilled technician he can attempt to rebuild your gearbox valve body but the probability of that fixing your gearbox back to how it was designed to work is 50%

So those are your three available options except you purchase another gearbox

Plus that scan you’re neglecting to do is very much needed at this moment

No leakage, I have checked severally for this.

For the smokin, I have checked for this also, I can confirmed it's not leaking.

As adviced, I will change the PCV valve and see what happens.

I once had a problem like yours on the same type of vehicle and engine. I later found out it was a leakage from my engine oil sump.

One of the bolts broke in half and i would have had to bring down the engine from the car to remove the broken bolt so I drove it like that for two years. That time i would be topping up a liter of oil every two weeks lol i used to use the 5w20 oil that time and even after switching to 5w30 and 5w40 the leakage persisted

I didn’t want to bring out my engine and pay the exorbitant workmanship just because of one broken bolt So what did I do?

I bought 5w30 synthetic oil from petrocam(5 liters) and a can of liquimoly mos2 engine friction modifier from oyingbo and mixed them together and poured into my engine. I used it for just under 1,000kms and it plugged the leakage completely I ran the oil for 3,500kms without topping it up with a single drop of oil because the level on the dipstick didn’t reduce one bit

Today I’m using Mobil 0w20 oils for more than 5,000kms without any shortage. I even used the remainder of the petrocam oil in my generator

So change your pcv valve first and if your shortage continues you could try my method if you find out that you indeed have a leakage

My 2004 accord shorts oil and the engine is not smoking, I have been driving the car for about 4 years now.

It started mid last year and I upgraded the oil from 'Honda oil 5w 20" to "Mobil 5w 30"
This did not solve the problem.

I serviced the engine on January 3rd with the mobil 5w 30, I checked the oil level yesterday, it has dried up, you can hardly see the oil on the dipstick.

I had to manage it to a Mobil station and toped it up with a 20w 50.

I called my Mech and he stated the issue is peculiar with Accord and some Camry models.

Either you have a leakage , bad pcv valve or your engine is actually smoking


To check For leaks park overnight after a long drive and place newspapers on the floor held with stones under the engine

For pcv valve just change it because it’s relatively cheap

For smoking let someone drive behind you while you’re driving in front and let the person observe your exhaust pipe as you’re both cruising on the road

Your mechanic must have cleaned your throttle body while servicing the engine and i can guess a few things that he did wrong

Maybe he mistakenly spoiled your iacv
Maybe he misaligned your tps
Maybe he didn’t connect on or more hoses well hence leaving your engine with a huge vacuum leak
Maybe he has torn an intake hose which is allowing unmetered and excess air into the system
Or maybe he didn’t connect a few sensor wires back properly

One or more of the factors above will guarantee that your vehicle uses excessive fuel

About your engine oil the 5w30 he used in servicing your engine is very much okay for it
