garfield1: Please dont misunderstand me.i never said ibibios are indigenous to cross river,i said there the largest non indigenous tribe in cross river.the mistake you make is counting ethnicities only in their original homeland,no you must count areas they are settled in large numbers also. ishans and ebiras cannot be up to 2 million.kogi was 3.2 million as of 2006.half of kogi is igala thats 1.6.leaving the okun and ebiras to share the remaining 1.6.if you estimate their growth rate at 2.6 % annually, they wont be up to 2 million.same applies to ishans.by estimation, edo should be 4.5 million now.half or more is made up of binis.the central where ishan inhabit has the least popupation so they cant be up to two million. Wrong Igbos are the largest non indigenous people of Cross River |

Toju200: I know MRAP are specifically for Mine protection and ambushes too.But if it should withstand RPG.Then it must have to be heavier than a tank due to it's armor.A RPG is made specifically to counter tanks It doesn't need to be thick to counter RPG The following can improve it's armor 1) Reactive armor. 2) Angle 60° degrees Curved/Slanted body shape. 3) Molten copper resistant materials eg ceramic armor. 4) Spinning plates attached to Angle 60° Curved/Slanted body shape. |

seunmsg: CBN is under the supervision of which ministry? BPP is under the supervision of which ministry? Office of the Auditor General for the Federation is under the supervision of which ministry?
These agencies despite their peculiarities and independence have no issues with IPPIS, universities cannot be an exception. The military and police raised far more issue than ASUU and all their concerns were addressed.
You also need to understand the fact that independence of universities are not absolute. Universities do not exist in a vacuum. Federal universities are owned by the federal government. They operate under the supervision and regulation of NUC. NUC itself is an agency under federal ministry of education. The president is responsible for approving the appointment of a university VC and constituting the university council. So, discard the independent/autonomous argument. For once an IPOB member like me had to agree with you. The university councils were employed and still employed by Federal Government. ASUU must bow to IPPIS. I know a particular Vice Chancellor instigating ASUU against Federal Government because of his corruption. If the FG is serious, they should ask me about the name of the Vice Chancellor and I will tell them. |

faceURfront: Ignorance is a disease!
University lecturers are employed by each university council. There is a law setting this up...dubbed the university autonomy law. IPPIS implemented in the universities will violate this law.
What is ASUU saying? Domesticate this IPPIS template in each university, capturing the perculiarities of the university system. Infact, ASUU told the FG they are willing to assist FG in doing this.
And to answer your rather Sarcastic question. The law was made for Nigerian universities not for ASUU. The president can not just alter a law by making pronouncements. If he wants the law altered, he knows the right procedure. Who employed the various university councils that employed ASUU members.? Who pays ASUU members.? FG or Council. |

Dreambeat: Abaribe is entitled to his own opinion. This is why we are Igbos.Even the ‘least significant’ (for the want of better expression) person has an opinion.Everyone who has a contribution to make, the person’s voice MUST be heard. We are republicans, exactly why the way Nigeria is currently run is unacceptable by us.It is against what we stand for, it’s against our value. There are those who have divergent view from Abaribe’s, with plausible reason too.I believe that a Biafra with a sea border will be the best.As for the oil, it will be irrelevant in a couple of years time but we need the sea with or without the ND. Somebody should ask Abaribe why hasn't he achieve Restructuring for the last 12 years in the Senate |
Politics › Re: Senator Abaribe Speech On Ndi Igbo And Biafra(long Read) by ConqueredWest: 10:20pm On Oct 15, 2019 |
gidgiddy: One thing Abaribe does not seem to understand is that if it were not for the Biafran agitators, there would be no worthwhile talk of restructuring today.
Restructuring, while a good idea, has no grassroots support. If you make a call for 10,000 people to come out and protest for restructuring, not up 10 people will come out. But if you call 10,000 to come out for Biafra, 10 times that number will come out.
The core North are totally against restructuring and nobody can do anything about. Restructuring is just a pipe dream
Eventually, people like Abaribe will see that there is no hope that Nigeria will ever be restructured and that's when he will realise that Biafra is the only hope of Igbos Let someone ask Abaribe why he hasn't achieve Restructuring despite being in the senate for over 10 years. |

Ojiofor: If Fulani will never agree to restructuring Nigeria that means its over their dead bodies before they will allow Biafra to be a state of its own . Between the two which one is more likely achievable,a Restructured Nigeria or Biafra? For me at this point I think it's more strategic and politically correct to agitate for a restructured Nigeria hence most of our neighbors are also comfortable with it than Biafra agitation. Wrong Totally Wrong It is much easier to get Biafra than a Restructured Nigeria. Abaribe has been in the Senate for a long time, why hasn't him achieved Restructuring.? |

PFRB: The only important lesson here is that IPOB should begin preparations for arms struggle via guerrilla ware far if they want to be respected. You are right about preparations for arms struggle but wrong on the strategy to be deployed. Guerrilla Warfare strategy is not suitable in the case of Biafra. There is a winning warfare strategy that must be deployed before an all out war can be launched to achieve independence. |

Bagehot: My point precisely. Nnamdi Kanu squandered an opportunity to build real political power by engaging in theatrics like Biafran Secret Service and such - but it is not too late. If IPOB which is well spread out over the South East started pressuring Politicians to make Biafra a key agenda of their government, or even got their own core members to run for office, massively campaign for them to get into office, and gradually do this state-by-state, then they can start to gain real political power, and traction for their cause.
Just so you know protest and agitation is the language of the poor; if you must forge your own path, you need to scheme your way into getting a seat at the decision table. Until this happens, Biafra agitation is a joke past its prime. Flawed thinking Atiku that won, why is he not the president.? The rigging out of Atiku proves that political solution is not obtainable |
