Hello Chuksinfotech,

Its better for an application to be denied fast than been tarried. This save time in making necessarily and appropriate corrections, and to give any new and/or adequate information that may help a reapplication.

I for one wouldn't agree that there is risk-taking here. You were only been headstrong. Your application was made with too many avoidable experimentation. With the Busrsary award, if you can improve your funds, its a good financial strength support.

If you go down the same path of using an organizational sponsorship coupled with the intended lump sum deposit, you may stand to face another setback. Get someone else or the individual giving your the necessary assistance within the organization to stand as a sure and reliable sponsor. The sponsorship will be done with private or personal information and documentation.

Pay your tuition and get your LE transferred to you. This should reflect with narration in the sponsor's BS. That way you don't need the lump sum deposit of 5-10m but you may sought for extra amount to run your account above the 430 mark or you can liquidate part of your investment to run it up.

In respect to how long the funds can stay, there is no actual time. Its advised for the funds to be there but in actual sense, I believe, no business minded individual would leave certain amount sufficient to generate extra funds laying idle in a buried account. Another advise it that, if the funds should be readily available so if an updated BS is requested or peradventure you were asked to pay your 1st semester or 1yr tuition fees by the VO, which could happen.

Changing sponsorship would likely not be a negative implication and it may also not likely affect your application wrongly. Try to demonstrate how the new sponsor is financially capable and give good evident relationship that connects you both.

IRCC requires a BS of 6months but on some occasion, few has used 3 months. Preferably, 6months makes sense in your situation. You can run your account through the said business transactions with your partner for about 6 -12 (if applicable) months.

I catch the sarcasm of frying your intestine. Though, there is no miracle without action. Do what's right.

All the best

I am following your comments deeply. It would help so much for a replication I'm coming forth with.

I regret to hear that your friend's study permit application was delayed. A glimpse at the visa officer's notes demonstrates that PA is not applying for a study visa to Canada in good faith (which implies that she is not a bonafide student). The VO is not satisfied that the funds mapped out for her studies is reasonable given her income, economic conditions as well as her salary on the completion of the program. And that there is no logical progression between your proposed program in Canada with her previous studies and current employment.

Given the above enumerated concerns of the visa officer and in summary of the below points highlighted by you on how you intend to rebuttal in her next application;

HOW I INTEND TO REBUTTAL
Apply for 09/2020 session
- Go for a PGD not a Diploma in Journalism
- Pay first year school fees. The fees this is affordable.
- Sponsor would be Dad/ Mum & uncle would be secondary this time. Or I get a student loan.
- Money would be transferred to her account to make it look all sealed.
- Work on the EOX

I'll advice that the uncle sponsorship should be scrapped off completely in the next attempt. If truly the uncle wants to provide support for her studies, he should do so by sending the money into the PA father's account in little denominations so as to avoid raising the eye brows of the visa officer. The entire first year tuition should be paid into her student account in the College and funds should be transferred to her personal account to demonstrate funds accessibility by the PA. Applicant should go for a program that is reasonable in light with her current work experience i.e a PGD in Journalism. More importantly, however, the LOE must be well detailed, coherent and straight to the point by highlighting the changes that have been made in the recent application and properly explain her employment prospects in Nigeria. PA should provide justification if the pay scale for journalist professionals is very impressive with job security that would outweigh the cost and investment made in her studies in Canada. I would advice that she should maximize every opportunity by referring the visa officer to one to two web links on the internet where it was stated that there is a dearth need of foreign journalists in Nigeria.

I hope this information helps. All the best in her next attempt.

It will end in praise.

Please how do I contact you privately (off the forum)

Chocs:
Hello,
Sorry to hear about the refusal.

Is it just a diploma or a post graduate diploma?

To be honest, linguistics and journalism are not related if you look at it properly.

Your funds were also considered insufficient. How much did you submit? Who was the sponsor? Was any tuition paid? Seeing that the tuition is on the high side, you need to have a convincing reason why you’ll pay that much, when there are cheaper options in Nigeria

Was a Diploma in Journalism she applied for but intend to go in for a PostGraduate in Journalism this time

I think linguistics & journalism are interrelated fields.
1. Our country is Bilingual. We French & English. You can move to be Copywriter, Reporter, Editor, Publisher, Public relations specialist and Corporate communications specialist.

-No tuition was paid.
-Tuition was 42K CAD. B.S from uncle was 86k CAD + 13K from sister.
-I will have the tuition paid this time.
-The sponsor was the uncle.
But this time, Sponsor would be Dad/ Mum & uncle would be secondary.

Would have the money transferred to her account this time.

I have it explained in the LOE why we choose Canada but the fees is about 8k.

Need your help for my sister.
Applied: August 24th
Biometrics but not done: August 25th
Refusal: September 10th
I applied for Winter Semester.
The moment I saw a notification, I knew it was a rejection. can't process within that range.
Ordered for the GCMS notes & hère is it.

Requested Date. 01/10/2020
Office Paris Text. Foss seen and integrated searches completed. Have today reviewed the file as well as the information and documents contained therein. Based on the documents provided, especially those relating to funds, reason for travel, family ties and previous trips, I am not convinced that RT reqs in good faith, that the funds are sufficient / sustainable for this study trip. . The cost seems to me disproportionate when I consider the nature of the previous studies, the economic situation (income and present assets) of the applicant and / or the immediate family and the employment prospects / potential wages. There does not appear to be a logical connection between the planned study program and the academic and professional background. I am not satisfied that she will be a bona fide student leaving Canada, if required, after an authorized stay. I am not satisfied that requesting a bona fide student under R179. File refused

Got BA linguistics
Applied for Diploma in Journalism
Fees: 42k CAD
Age. 25
Went for a diploma because she got a BA 3rd class

Jobs prospects. Copywriter, Reporter, Editor, Publisher, Public relations specialist and Corporate communications specialist.

-She has a very close relationship with her uncle.
- Asset. Land property worth 13kCAD & deed of gift (house) from mother. 16k CAD

Sure you and i haven't gotten the same sister?? LOL.
Well, applied on my sister's behalf who got a B.A in Linguistics and has been working for about 4 years now, owns land property and got straight refusal.
Awaiting the GCSM notes but i began seeing some blunders when i had already submitted the application but said ''Man na Man''
She had a third class so couldn't go in for a MSC and we decided to switch to a Diploma in Journalism since they are two correlated fields and was well elucidated on her LOE and how it would impact her, career progression but all went in vein.

Go for a progression. Can't have a B.A and go for a Diploma please. How old is she ??
There is no formular in sponsorship but makes sure it's either Mum or Dad or a study loan (best preferred).
If it's a third party (Uncle, in law...) have the money transferred to her account and get a LOS from them.
Hope we can work together, i do plan to appeal for her
Thanks.

Home ties - I applied with my hubby and kids

Career progression - I went for undergraduate admission instead of masters

Proof of fund - I used an uncle instead of my hubby.

These were the three major reasons.

But I will get it right by Gods grace, already applied for mastera admission.

Hello ConradAce1,

I share my empathy with you. The best solution is seek another admission for a PGD/C or Post Baccalaureate Diploma.

Since her previous study falls in-between numerous professions, she could also look at Public Administration.

If she has 15k as personal funds, I think she's good. If she feels comfortable paying for the first semester, then okay.

Is her mum also a sponsor and/or will she be capable to stand as her sponsor in her next application, if YES, then good. But if NO, she could eithrr act as a cosponsor or her uncle as her sole sponsor while the mother gives letter of support. If any monetary commitment is to be made, it should come from the uncle and properly addressed. The mother can also follow suit, no harm and it only makes her financial stronger.

Her age is really good and I believe she understands French likewise English, she could patiently stay back and pursue a Master then attempt IELTS and forge through the EE route.

I hope she gets it this time.

Thanks so much. I'm noting.
Yeah. I will change to a PGD.

Yes she into language teaching & translation
She's got IELTS too.

What if I made the dad the full sponsor and have her job and landed property added ??
And leave her uncle out of it go for someone with direct relationship (dad).

I agree with you Lekiboboe. Also, I feel a lot goes on in checking each applicants' profile whether going for Diploma or a logically progressive degree. I recently got connected to a woman, who got AIP for a Diploma program in New Brunswick - she has a Master degree already and it was clearly stated in her profile.

Another interesting thing is after many years working in the banking sector, she is now going for an IT program. I believe she did well by explaining her reasons in her LOE and SOP.

Good luck to us all.

Same thing I explained why my sister Went in for a Diploma
Was all highlighted in her LOE.

You are welcome,
Yeah you are right, but they didn't see it as a cogent reason I guess (No career Progression in terms of Educational Qualification i.e B.A to Dip, instead of a B.A to PG.Cert/PGD).

Cos It might be based on an Assumption from them that there are Linguistic-related programs (e.g Journalism) she would have gone for instead of a DIPLOMA which makes Purpose of Study Vague and the Diploma program will make it look as if your sister's primary intention of travelling to Canada is not to study.

All da best, You are welcome!

1. Study program should be PGD instead of diploma in Journalism

2. Funding must be from one of the parents

3. Perfect the LOE/SOP. Make it worth.

Hi ConradAce1,

So sorry about your sister's refusal,

Tell her to google & do research on the following PG. Cert programs

Broadcast Journalism – Television News
Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology, London, ON

Journalism (Post Diploma)
College of the North Atlantic (CNA), Stephenville, NewFoundLand & Labrador

Journalism – New Media
Sheridan College, Oakville, ON

Journalism (Postgraduate)
Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, Toronto, ON

Journalism – Arts and Entertainment
Centennial College, Toronto, ON

Sports Journalism
Centennial College, Toronto, ON

Contemporary Journalism
Centennial College, Toronto, ON

All the best in her next application

Note: she should try do some serious research & find how Linguistic relates with Journalism so she can able to connect it into details in her SOP

e.g

A journalist is expected to have good linguistic skills as a minimum in his job. A good command of his native language and hopefully one other major language is often a prerequisite to employment.

An incoherent or vague submission for publication is completely unacceptable.
Editors and publishers generally have language experts on staff to proof and correct any submissions but they can only work from material they can understand in all its nuances.

A journalist with poor linguistic skills is an insult to his or her profession

Source: QUORA

Wow. Thanks so Much for taking out your time. I’m so grateful. I will try but if I see a PGD in linguistics would go for It since it’s connecting.
Thanks again and again.

For the bolded, yes..

Yes, people have reapplied and got it in their 2-4th trial.

I will advise against the immigration consultation unless you have the money, reason is this, the purpose of visit is logical, why would a HND graduate be going for a diploma and not a PGD. Though I tot you said she had a 3rd class. Again I will advice you tell the girl to come on nairaland to seek better understanding.

I answered why the 3rd in my previous write up.
Yeah. Any institution which offer PDG in linguistics or journalism??

I’m the one who applied for her. She is my sister and got no Clue.

All from indication, a PGD is the only option. She got a 3rd class BA she can’t go for masters.
I tried seeking master’s admission no way.

The purpose of visit is from the diploma. Why is she going for a diploma and not a PGD.
The finances either her uncle or mum can transfer the money to her account .
Is she currently working? Did she submit a cv showing that shes currently working

I think the Diploma got an issue. Would have been a PGD.
OK. uncle or mum transferring is good.
Would I need to present her documents as in certificate of registration, tax payer card, certificate of non bankruptcy... like I did earlier ?

she is working. Submitted employment verification letter, past 5 month pay slip, leave letter for studies,

What people who reapply, do they often get a study permit ?
What are the chances ?

I’m thinking of seeking an immigration consultation.

What did you do in your bsc or HND,
Is the intended course related to your present experience or bsc.
Is the course offered in nigeria?

Went in for a Diploma / HND
Yes. I think Linguistics is related to journalism.
Unless in universities, Very difficult to find journalism done in private institutions in Cameroon as in a professional.

Please do it take for the GCMS to be delivered.
