Some people in government are beginning to see these protests as a plot to remove Buhari, if that is the case, the north would raise hell. They are already holding counter protests in Kano and other northern cities. that’s why it’s democracy, everyone is free to protest.. |

80naija: The EndSARS protest by Nigerians yielded a positive response, as the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad SARS unit was disbanded by the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu. But a new unit has been created.
The new unit goes by the name SWAT "Special Weapons and Tactics", and its rules and mandates are different from those of the disbanded SARS. These rules were signed into law by the Police Force PRO Abuja, DCP Frank Mba, who stated that the new unit will undergo a thorough psychological and medical examination to ascertain their fitness, and that no member of the Disbanded SARS will be in this new unit.
Checkout the rules and Mandates of the SWAT 'Special Weapons and Tactics here: https://80naija.com/no-sars-personnel-will-be-part-of-the-swat-team/ based on how special the swat team go be naa.. Adamu we no want your special team, just end the police brutality and stop corrupt practices in the force, fund the police properly with their money and stop embezzling it.. how simple can this be? |

Politics › Re: How The Civil War Destroyed The Police by ContentedK: 8:48am On Oct 14, 2020 |
FeloniousFelon: The British ruled Nigeria for over 60ys with hardly any complaints of Police brutality . Other than the massacre of protesting Aba women, I can hardly reference any other event during colonial rule where the police were accused of brutality or extrajudicial killings. Also, note that the average police officer was armed with only a baton and a whistle.
This continued until the outbreak of the civil war which saw to men of the police being drafted into military roles like mounting stop and search checkpoints while fully armed with automatic weapons.
After the civil war, the Police still kept their guns and checkpoints because there was a surge in violent crimes due to the profileartion of small arms and a criminal underworld composed mostly of Nigerian Army veterans of the civil war who still continued their looting .
In every way you look at it, the Nigerian Army can be blamed for the root of the Nigerian police. Under subsequent military juntas, the police operated under the jackboot mentality of which the military juntas used in suppressing the people. what if the massacre of the Enugu coal miners? |

mushystuff: Them soldiers didn't have orders to fire, there's no religious undertone plus they're in Lagos where there's just too much awareness and exposure.
Is it not the same situation the same soldiers faced in Kaduna that they murdered over 1000 people because they're are Shiites? Even went to their homes the next day to murder innocent people including women and children just because they obstructed the Chief of Army Staff - Mr Buratai? these are just two military officers on bike and not the buratai convoy. In saner climes, military aren’t suppose to be in civilian space with guns that’s why it’s called democracy, why would buratai and his cowards even kill unarmed citizens they’re meant to be protecting. You see why your shiithole is regarded as a zoo, jungle and need to end ASAP... |

Akwuzu SARS command is the most dreadful, wicked, dubious command in the entire country.
Travelling through Anambra is scary because of these guys. I'm not a fraudster. . .but I dare not travel with my car.
