Let the thread grow naturally. Calling in experts brings in a moral burden of being always right. We are all here to learn. I’ve been reading here daily since 2014.

Grow naturally?
That I invited about 4 persons who I know have something tangible to contribute is bad?

And how does that hamper growth here?

Or are you bereft of apt diction?

Even the Supreme Court despite having 21 Justices invites some senior advocates, professors and Attorney Generals to address them in certain cases. These people are called amici curiae.

One needs clarity of expression and that is a product of clarity of reasoning.

I am inviting fairfora, Fid4fid
Truthdefender ,dasuks and sultaan to this great thread.
They are seasoned business men.

Sirs, you might go through a few of the last pages. I am sure you will find people here interesting. I adjudge this thread a respository of good brains on Nairaland.

A round of applause for them.

LET ME NOW encourage others to invite pundits they know here. I am sure they will appreciate the thread and also contribute.

My girl cheated on me badly before and I forgave her. Just recently, I happened to hack through her WhatsApp simply because she started displaying the 3 signs of a cheating partner as mentioned by the OP..
What I found blew me off.

How did you do that boss ?

It is very volatile for now.
This is not unexpected giving the uncertainty in the fx market.
The busd/ NGN market mirrors the naira dollar exchange in the parallel market for now.
If you want to buy and hold you may wait a little while for some pullback.
ok tnx

Binance has really made things easy for Nigerians.
Search for binance and follow the instructions on how to register.
Once you register and your account verified, you can deposit money directly with your mobile banking app or your card.
You can buy busd directly with your naira though I will not advise you to buy at current price.
Price today is between N437 and N450.

I will be glad to answer any other question you may have here.

What do you think about busd sir? Is it not volatile?

ahiboilandgas:
Bonds are kinda sold in units with each unit having a face value.
so if you buy a 15% APR 2023 FGN bond with 10m at its original price, you'd be having 100,000 units of the bond, and since the coupon is 15%, your annual interest would be 1.5m

Now when you buy at the secondary market, you often don't buy at the original unit price. You may get to buy at say N90 per unit, which implies that you'd only be paying 9m to get thesame 100,000 units.

But at the end of the year, both you who bought at 9m and the other person that bought at 10m, you'd each get 1.5m as interest, because you hold the same number of units. But while his own yield is 15%(1.5m on 10m input), yours is 16.67%(1.5m on 9m input)

So coupon rate indicates the rate at which interest is paid on a bond based on its face value, while yield indicates the actual rate of returns to an investor.

The coupon rate is always indicated in the name of most bonds, and it doesn't change throughout the lifetime of the bond.

Only changes in purchase prices bring about changes in yields to bond investors.
Please, does the emboldened suggest that it's better to buy from secondary market?

Why would the yield for 9m be at 16.67? and that of 10m at 15%?

Please I have a question.

If you engage the services of a programmer or web designer and you aren't satisfied with him afterwards and want to pay him off amicably.
How do you ensure he doesn't harm your site or have extra unknown access to it thereafter?

And how do you ensure he hands over all login details etc?

Not fake news... TransferWise is 374.12 for weeks now

Payoneer is 382.. These are parallel rates which all these websites use.

The truth behind this is, they use 3rd party BDC company in Nigeria (If you can mention TransferWise, you will know the BDC I'm talking about). They are the one eating the big chunk of it. They will get the USD at 450 and give people 374-382.

But if you use Dom account and collect your dollars and take it to Aboki or dem BDC gangan, na 450 o....

could you rephrase what you explained above. I didn't quite catch it please.

I am very much interested.

How can you continue to shroud something and not expect it's value and scarcity to increase

They stopped all transactions and transfer on Forex accounts since. Even if you have a domiciliary forex account, YOU CAN NOT TRANSFER IT TO ANYWHERE.
The only thing you can do with Forex card account with existing fund is to pay for international transactions or purchase something with it online.
The only way you can fund the account is to buy Forex From bureau de change and go to the bank to deposit it.

What kind of stupîdity is that?

Since the implementation of that nonsense, naira has continued to devalue.

Is it only Nigeria that Corona virus or lockdown is affecting?

USELESS leaders.

baba how can i preserve the little change i have in naira bank accounts?

You should actually pay an electrical engineer or invite qualified nairalanders to give you a quote, sort of a mini RFP. The person will check the capacity of all your equipment You want to run, how many hours of electricity you get in a week typically, how long you want your equipment to run, say 18/24 hrs, then use these numbers to give you a list of what you need to buy. If possible also, the brand of equipment to buy, to avoid stories that touch.

RFP should cost you little or nothing, it doesn’t lock you in with anyone, they just send in their quotes either as a favor or as a paid service.

The ones I find here aren't competent at all.
They fail simple questions I ask them to ascertain their competence.

I hate the sound of generator. I have one but don't like using it.

Which small solar set up can I get for just charging of phones, laptops and fan?

I always get confused each time I check because of too many options and paid reviews. This is worsened by the fact that I am not in Lagos.

I would have gone for the mtn lumous but the reviews are bad.

I need practical real life experience please.
Like solar brand, pwm or mppt brand, battery etc

Marketers stay off.

Romance / You don't Chase Ladies, You Attract Them by contumely2: 7:36am On May 11, 2020
You are not meant to chase ladies, you attract them, initiate a valuable conversation in a cute way every other thing falls into place.

You get what you want by bringing VALUE in exchange of her time invested, friendship & relationship sets in effortlessly but distinctively defined.

Work on yourself first; Build capacity, build strong but admirable character, be comfortable in your skin, carve a niche for yourself and you won't have troubles getting ladies attention, take my word for it.

"When you chase the cat it will run away, but when you have what the cat want it comes to you" and that is the power of ATTRACTION.

Finally, learn to take them out to fun places, ladies love the sight and smell of a serene environment, and spend a little bit of cash to make them have fun, some guys are just too stingy when it comes to that.

Do that without attaching or expecting anything in return for the little cash spent. Some guys get it wrong, once they make a little financial commitment the next thing their mind tells them is to try to sleep with her.
Chill, everything will take shape once you are calm, friendly and expect almost nothing back, that's how it works.

In my own opinion, yes it’s pretty bad. Based on my own personal and individual research. To live successfully in Nigeria I made a list of must haves and mustn’t haves.

I cook with vegetable oil, but preferably with Canola or Corn oil. I consider myself as my primary care giver, not the government.

could you please elucidate on this and other have nots

I have 10 close friends in the USA, Bossom buddies. 8 of them are living completely off grid. 5 of them are multi millionaires.

The world is getting off grid. I’m off grid in Ibadan.

Healthcare wise, live good, eat good. Register at a private clinic. Do preventative checkups. Don’t drive like a slowpoke or take unnecessary risks. Minimize your exposure. The government can’t take care of everything.

Many people in the USA don’t have health insurance and can’t go to hospital and use emergency room as their primary care.

Stop scoffing food cooked with palm oil, stop buying fruits from aboki that stored it in gutter.

is palm oil bad?

There are some good Nollywood movies, for the English movies, if it's not any of those box office, just forget it. I love the Yoruba movies more, if nothing it's a comic relief for me. Then the problem with me is even the really nice ones, I watch and forget the title.
Have you seen '76'? It's good. Then Funke Akindele's 'Your Excellency too. 'Unforgiveable' and 'Reunion' are both Yoruba movies. I don't know whether you speak Yoruba. Can't remember again Biko.
Good luck.

Who would consider a movies with no plot, theme, lessons.

I am replying because u sound a bit sensible. If not, I would have ignored it just the way I ignored the other guy.

This is about money and investment. You don't just sort the advice of unqualified people to give you ideas on what to do just like that .

Any financial advisor u sort out online for free, check it carefully, he or she must have placed a disclaimer. Meaning that u can't sue him/her for misrepresentation because u did not request for information / advice directly from him..
he/she owe you no duty of care recognized by law, there's no reason for relying on the advice hence, They are not liable for whatever misfortune suffered as a result of relying on their advice. But freeloaders will never understand this..The Medical advise people takes online were at their own risk. go and figure it out..

I am surprised that most of you that types in good English nicely can't do/ make a proper comparisons.. u are equating financial matters with free software.. the other was even comparing an investment with studying English online.. hmm!!!

So did the Op tell you that he would just take the advice here without a pinch of salt ?
So he would just take all or one of the pieces of advice and apply it just like hook line and sinker?

Seems your smattering of misrepresentation as seen in Wagon's cases in Tort is confusing you.

In practice, how many people have sued for getting bad financial advice?

Even if the op goes to a renowned economist or investment pundit and he advises him on say stocks to pick, will he sue if he loses his money or the stocks fall or even the coy goes under?

How many people have sued and succeeded even in clear cases of medical negligence?

The cases you cited are at best utopian, quixotic and unrealisable.
.You strike me like a stripling, still very wet behind the ears.
