StarBoard:never rely on young british players - they are too indisciplined to have the required fitness needed at the top level. i hope the trio(jones, evans, smalling) get sold. defenders that are barely fit for the season are as useless as conference league defenders. i always admire how chelsea have an unchanged back 4 all the time and we cannot even have a breather without an injury in ours. terry/cahill are older than our defenders and yet our boys are glass-made. |
afrodoc2:LVG's tactics are strange. i think no matter what happens, his captain must finish a game even if he's stinking the whole joint. the falcao substitution was bizarre - RVP should have been taken off instead. blind can also play on the left, carrick can sit & valencia can play on the right. we have enough options in that midfield - it's the defence that needs to be sorted real quick before we host mourinho. |
StarBoard:i am a big fan of michael carrick but he's not without his flaws. he's the only midfielder that can play for 90 mins & have his shorts dirty. his strength is anticipating what opponents are doing and nullifying the danger before it comes to fruition. he's the best player in the league when it comes to remote defending. however, he has his bad side. he cannot really tackle hard & he's generally weak with the dirty work needed to add balance to a side. carrick allowed 2 bayern goals in 2010. the olic one was painful, the robben one was unforgivable. Let's talk selection/tactics.herrera must start always but valencia can be brought in to steady the ship if any of blind or herrera were to get injured. i have seen a handful of his games for his country and he always did well from the middle. he's a donkey - he's good at getting stuck in, winning tackles, recovering the ball & playing a simple pass to a more creative teammate. he's found a new role for himself. |
vosquare:juan was angry with the stüpid pass rafael made that led to mexico scoring a goal in the final. they cursed each other out on the pitch. brazil had about 89 minutes to equalise but failed to do so....then rafael didn't like the fact that he was taken off in the match & he threw tantrums. to make everything even more comical, the brazil football federation singled out rafael for the loss in the official statement they released. i have never seen such in my life. |
hensben:so if a player is out of form, it means he's poor. did owen even kick a ball in that final? what difference did it make? there's no guarantee berbatov would have come on if he was named on the bench..... berbatov was a good buy for united - he's better than all the strikers chelsea have bought since 2003 apart from drogba & costa. so show some respect to our bulgarian striker. he won a golden boot without a single penalty. it's a record in the premier league. |
hensben:tevez was dropped for argentina. rooney was dropped against madrid. drogba was once dropped by jose to play with the reserves for a week. any player can be dropped! |
hensben:berbatov won a golden boot in the premier league. in the last 11 seasons, only drogba has matched that feat.....so stop talking nonsense. hensben:yes now, cesc was in liverpool when torres was taking the mick out of terry & carvalho....cesc was in liverpool when torres demystified vidic & rio. cesc was in liverpool when torres destroyed arsenal. |
AirborneLacer:how many top teams are in the UCL? the group stage is an opportunity to score plenty of goals if you wanna. Athletico were at least 4th to 6th best team in europe last season as per quality - it then means they were better than about 26-28 teams.... in a nutshell, champions league competition has more useless teams in it than la liga. ruud @ united used to win golden boots even when united don't get past the 2nd round stage. all you have to do is score 7 goals against ludrogets(home & away) in the group stage & golden boot is guaranteed. |
Bimfo:hazard mostly assisted penalty takers. he gets brought down, a penalty or a freekick is given & he assists a goal. mata mostly assisted set plays. none of them is 1/3 as intelligent as cesc. don't even compare....and i don't want to argue today. falcao is coming for you soon. united must stop your unbeaten run on the 26th.....it has been written! ![]() |
MrTA:that's a typical jose tactics. he knows how to win. what's the point of 3-4 goals when 1 or 2 is enough to cop 3 points. they will take some stopping - whoever finishes above chelsea will win the league. it's on us to stop them in 3 weeks time & i am sure we can do it. by then, jones & co should be back in the team. |
AirborneLacer:athletico madrid? la liga is different - the top 3 teams are light years ahead of the other 17. my grandmother can score 40 goals easily in la liga. the premier league is the most difficult league to score. the real test is here in england & cesc has greatly helped costa's cause here. remember they are also team mates for spain so there's an existing chemistry between the two - the 2 of them understand each other to the T......an advantage nando would have benefitted from if he wasn't loaned out into the wilderness. |
AirborneLacer:there's no cesc equivalent in milan too. so he's back to square one. cesc didn't score & he won the MOTM, that tells you a lot about his pass. cesc has given you guys another dimension to win football games. if hazard's footwork proves difficult, cesc can ping it from 70 yards & set costa through on goal. |
AirborneLacer:that's the kinda pass alonso/gerrard was giving torres in liverpool. unfortunately for nando, he never played with a midfielder capable of making such slide rule passes. costa didn't even have to break his stride. chest control & he's through on goal.....the pass made the goal easy, yakubu would score from that pass in the same circumstance. don't worry, costa will soon meet his master. |
sephia:emi? sephia?? ![]() don't worry - i reserve your beating till the 26th when falcao locks eyes again with petr cech. uba go suffer. ![]() |
cesc is a machine! his range of passing is peerless in europe. he's the lifeline of this chelsea side. what a player!!! |
arsenal must not concede now & i don't want them to score yet. they should wait till the 90th minute before delivering the killer blow. fabregas does it again.... damn!!!! |
codedguy1:chelsea haven't really played well too....asides hazard's moment of brilliance. it's been huffing & puffing. the football has been horrible to watch. start-stop-start. arsenal might still get a draw here if they improve their passes in the final third. |
codedguy1:who doesn't score? mata has more min/goal than him from the same position. My main grouse with Rooney is that he thinks he has all the energy in the world to be everywhere, hence his positional indiscipline and when he does that when he falls back he starts pinging unnecessary balls to left and right that don't make sence wnen he be upfront causing problems for the opponents.if he stays upfront, he's a good finisher. we don't need to overflog that. if he stays at the edge of the box, goals would be scored.....but he doesn't have the guile to play short passes in a crowded box.....this is why he drops deep and make passes from 70 yards. Rooney with all his shortcomings will score if he stays upfront. Am just irritated when I see him fall back and starts pinging useless balls that don't make sense.it's a good problem to have....if any of them gets injured or suspended, there is a capable replacement. van persie was poor today by the way. wrong technique about 3 times he had the ball in the box. I will give him the benefit of doubt to perform if we have strong players behind him like yaya and fernandinho. Right he just uses his energy to pass hollywood passes.we can play football without gorillas in the squad. there was a time carrick & cleverley were beating up toure, barry & milner in the midfield. if the passes are on point & the strikers have their scoring boots, there should be no need for gorillas in the team. van gaal has completely revolutionised our football. only a hater wouldn't see this and even before today's result.....he had more points from 6 league games than moyes did. we play better football, the forward passes are endless & we are creating loads of chances. 2 more defenders, 1 world class midfielder and we would soon win the EPL. |
codedguy1: So in essence, we need two strong players playing behind both of them for them to thrive effectively.even if you put toure, cattermole & vidal behind rooney, he would still drop deep. he doesn't understand tactics & his short passing around the edge of the box is highly flawed. rooney depends on the long ball to thrive...... so if arsenal lose today, we would be above them? winning is the name of the game in this league. am i seeing right or am i missing something? elfenomeno go hear am today if they lose. |
vosquare:he's messed that chance up when he went apeshït in the last olympics. he made a big mistake & he wouldn't accept it. he cursed his manager, cursed his teammates and the team doctor. |
christ - hazard just went through a mazy run now taking about 4 arsënal defenders out of the game. penalty for chelsea.....goal for hazard. |
chrisley024:no wonder ecuador plays valencia in the middle. when he's not required to make crosses or beat his markers, he's very very good. he tackles hard, drives the ball forward & make simple passes. he was very good today - the best i have seen of him in the last 30 months or thereabout. i should be a manager....i made the call that he should be the one to replace herrera today. fletcher woulda been swallowed in that midfield today. |
StarBoard:so you have not noticed carrick hides from blocking a shot? he takes 2 steps backwards & lunge at the direction where he knows the ball won't hit him. he's a pùssy when it comes to putting a block on a potential shot on target. |
bxg:of course! assist is what players pick on the streets like mango. it seems you guys underrate that everton side. they are the toughest team we have faced under van gaal. anyone comparing the useless teams we have faced earlier to this everton side needs spiritual deliverance. liverpool couldn't even beat them at home last weekend. |
bxg:try januzaj ke? after mata's impressive display? was this not this same team we lost to at old trafford last season with rooney in the hole? i was very satisfied with mata's display. van persie was the reason mata didn't grab 3 assists today. |
arsenal fans constituting a nuisance in stamford bridge, now there's a delay in chelsea kick off. why would fans throw flares on the pitch in england? shameless lots! --------- shout out to paddy today too. he did well, he räped lukaku in nearly all the aerial duels they had. rojo was a monster! blackett started poorly but his block to deny barry was world class(carrick should take note). |
afrodoc2:his substitutions have been horrible! it's not his fault though, we don't have the games to blood young players so we have to play them in these games....he should be bringing them into the game late. taking falcao out was wrong. shaw's injury was unfortunate but then why is he in our squad? anyways, valencia was super impressive. this is the first time valencia would have a flawless game in 30 months. |
larride:that was a penalty. the blackett foul was a pen too. the only bad call was the rafael one. we have to pay for fielding rookie defenders in the EPL. |
Leyqute:it will soon come together.... there's no european games or carling cup games in between do some shooting practise. |
mata •91% pass accuracy •3 created chances(open play) •1 assist (open play) •90% short pass accuracy. |
first baines penalty miss in his career, wow! luke shaw is a goat, he didn't need to make that tackle. de gea is god! everton have been lethargic. so we can play this positively, cheiiiii, e no go better for moyes. we are couple of defenders away from becoming a monster team. |
