chaircover: We mostly said manslaughter o!
You said he was innocent tongue
cheiiiii - you all said he's guilty of murder. you said he was in a jealous rage & he intentionally shot her....the intent is what is in dispute. everyone knew he pulled the trigger.

i said he's not guilty of murder - that he shot at her thinking it was an intruder. that alone should tell you i meant he's guilty of manslaughter & not murder.

Babymama1: Are you the same way?
It is a big flaw IMHO
Look at this typical example
We were going to this church and we all loved it,the kids were doing wonderful in the puppet ministry and absolutely loved it

Then hubby noticed some things going on in the church amongst the senior members of the church about preferential treatments etc that I didn't think was a big deal, then suddenly we had to leave the Church.
My children cried and cried and that wasn't enough to make him change his mind
it's for the greater good!
he did well noticing those things you failed to notice because of the weekly jollof rice you love to eat in that church.

i can't stand the preferential treatment ish in church too. it would pain me to the marrow if my kids get slighted as a result of this. it's better to be safe than sorry.

buy a big bottle of wine for your hubby for making that decision - he's got the gift of foresight. cool
Phones › Re: Apple Unveils The 4.7-inch Iphone 6 With Retina HD Screen by coogar: 6:53pm On Sep 12, 2014
Seun: I have an iPhone 5C with a broken screen. I've been fantasizing about 'upgrading' it for a better camera, and touch ID, but the problem with iPhones in Nigeria is their abysmal support for 3G browsing in areas with weak network signals (e.g. most places in Nigeria and rural areas elsewhere). You can't force the iPhone to use 3G signals in such situations; it keeps switching between modes, making the browsing experience awful. The only reason I have an iPhone is that I really enjoy using it as a basic phone for making phone calls, sending SMS messages, taking pictures, etc. Browsing on the iPhone 5C is surprisingly enjoyable but I have to use an Android phone as a hotspot for the iPhone. So sad.

I don't think I'll enjoy making calls on the new iPhones as much as I do on my cute little iPhone 5C. First of all, there's the size. Then there's the ugly backs which people around me are going to see whenever I lift the phone to my ear. It's not worth it. I'll just repair the screen on my 5C.
oga seun, buy a signal booster!

chrisley024: It lacks a DM. I'd play Blind and Herrera in d middle.

..Evans....Rojo....Blackett....

Give them cover with Rafael and Shaw as wingbacks
spot on!!

i can't believe some people still want valencia in this team. how would the ball get to falcao & co when you have a wing-back who deliberately aims his crosses on the shins of his markers.

i hope & pray valencia never plays for us again.

and what if the sister personally instructed him address her by her name? you are using panadol for another woman's headache.

freecocoa: Suspended sentence? What does that even mean? Jesus! huh
the sentence would be suspended. he goes home but with conditions attached. if he breaches the agreement, he would go to prison and serve his sentence.

moreover, he could even get a fine.....several thousands of dollars for the crime committed. his lawyers should be able to get him a lighter sentence due to his disability & being a first offender.

adahib: I still don't get the argument here. while I don't support violence by anyone, suffice it to say that the lady got exactly what she deserved. For all those blaming the man,can I ask a simple question? Was the lady fully aware that the man was physically stronger before she attacked him? If yes,why then will she assume that his response will carry the same force as hers.

Let's look at a scenerio. A person attacks me with a knife when he's fully aware that I have a gun. I shoot him in self-defense. Will that be a crime? Will I be guilty of lack of self-control?

Before we attack anybody let's assume that the person will fight back. That way,we'll be more careful.
of course not!
she was blind - ladies are generally blind when they are drawing the first blood. they simply do not see that the person they are hitting is more physically-built than their petit self. grin

Horayce: Surprised by the verdict. Props to coogar. He called it and played devil's advocate long before anyone i can remember including world class legal analysts. Why does this Judge read like a 3rd Grader?
hehehehe - the case was straight forward from the get go....nairalanders only allowed their emotions to get the better of them. i called it right as far back as feb 2013.....

coogar: then wait for the trial before you suggest pistorious is guilty!
until then, he's innocent - no matter how the story might look. i can't be bovvered about what others think because till now, it's based on their nollywood experience.

factual evidence is what i go with and if the court cannot prove pistorious intentionally shot his girlfriend then he's not guilty of murder. the burden of proof is on the prosecution to prove he shot his girlfriend intentionally. let pistorious answer for the other offences of keeping a gun without license and manslaughter. premeditated murder? people should stop taking the piss!

BABE3: Men are definitely more emotionally intelligent than women; a 1000%.

When it comes to intellectuals however; it's a tricky one. At the elementary and secdondary level of education, boys and girls are roughly on the same level.

when we get higher on the ladder; the university/demanding level, women tend to drastically fade away. They tend to go for psychology, communication; those useless courses sha. But when it comes to STEM courses, women are nowhere to be found.

Imagine, only 9% of engineers in the UK are females.

I wonder why. The blame it on mothehood. grin cheesy
and only about 18% of engineers in america are females. the most intriguing part is more american females get admitted into universities for STEM courses than men but they never follow it through to the very end....

whether the issue is motherhood or limited intellectual capacity, i don't know.....but to think more men with the genuine intention of reaching the engineering pinnacle are being denied admission to accommodate women who soon throw their engineering dreams away for domestic chores is quite disturbing!

Reference: That's what am saying. How do you square this circle. Heads you lose, tails you lose.
i am a modern man. grin
i believe in sex equality - my female colleagues performing the same role as me should get the same pay as me. they should get equal opportunities as their male counterparts in every sphere of life.

that being said, if a woman hits me - what will i do? i would do exactly the same thing i do when a man hits me. my sex equality policy does not falter that way. if i retaliate when a man hits me, i should retaliate when a woman hits me as well.

it's pretty simple!

Forwetinnah: How sure are you of the bolded. ..because some witnesses decided to recant their statements? Watched a repeat of today's court proceedings an hour ago, and the Judge kept repeating the "woman in distress" phrase which means several witnesses heard her. It's a pity though. .she's dead and gone.
it's not about how sure i am - it was what the judge said. she said due to the horrific nature of her injuries, she's incapable of screaming - her skull fractured cos of the bullet.

talon bullets are illegal - they go into a body with a tiny entry, while inside - they spread out like the tentacles of an octopus & destroy every tissue, organ or cells inside. that's why oscar is being charged separately for illegal possession of firearms.

i just hope the axe falls on valencia & rooney - these 2 cats have been given too much leeway by united fans even when they have been useless for close to 18 months now.

kagawa, hernandez, mata, welbeck, nani, young, anderson only need to screw up in 3 consecutive games and the fans want their heads on a plate. i don't get the logic at all.

that was the 82nd minute......in a game we were not winning & valencia chose to pass back to de gea from that situation? grin it's not even disputable, valencia is not blessed with intelligence.

blackett was very free, he could have just floated the ball to the edge of burnley's box to create commotion. the fool passed back to de gea - thus allowing burnley to reorganise & keep their shape.

codedguy1: That's a completely new midfield, can you emphatically say we have sorted out our midfield problems with these players?
it's not like the midfield had ebola or dengue fever. what they lacked was the confidence to receive the ball & make vertical passes to the strikes.

blind, herrera & di maria are confident players. they are good passers of the ball & they are very confident in possession.....they can travel with the ball too so we are 80% sorted with them.

If we have 3 of them in MF, who plays upfront, Falcao, Mata and Rooney, am assuming its a 433 formation.
who plays upfront depends on form & availability. it would be falcao, rooney & RVP. if any of them tires out, mata would replace them. if rooney doesn't pull his finger out, i see him being the weakest link in that trio.

Will Lvg still stick to his 352 formation with these players?
once again - it depends on the personnel we have in the defence. smalling & jones are out. evans is unfit or struggling - that leaves us with shaw, blackett, rojo & rafael. we are too light to play 4 at the back just yet...

With the players we have am beginning to think 442 should be our default formation, players seem suited for that..
3-4-3 is our best formation. we have too many quality forwards to play 2 strikers. no one would want to sit on the bench unless rooney tears his hamstring!

Obinoscopy: Let me use an example: If a little boy hits a soldier with his wooden stick, do you expect the soldier to return the favour with his steel sword? No.
with this analogy of yours - you are implying a man is the soldier and the woman is the little boy, right?

well, if women agree they are little earthlings to men then a man won't hit back - however, women are saying they are of equal standing with men.

with that in mind, there's a disconnect between your analogy & the relationship between men & women.

Forwetinnah: From what i understand about the shots through the door is simply...*they had a fight, he got his gun...she ran into the toilet, he asked her to open the door she refused. HE THEN SHOT HER THROUGH THE DOOR KNOWING SHE WOULD BE LEANING ON IT. Remember some witnesses heard them arguing, and then there were sounds of a "woman in distress"..and then the shots. It's normal for someone to run into a room and wedge the door with their body especially if you can't Find a key.
except that the pathologists & post mortem revealed that the first bullet that caught her rendered her incapable of shouting or screaming.

that's the exact reason pistorius had a good case to start with. there was no chasing & there was no scream. the screams the witnesses heard was that of oscar himself after realising he had shot his own girlfriend.

when a task is required from both genders, they expect the man to be stronger in such scenarios. however, when it's time to share the rewards, then the theory changes a man = a woman!
