elampiro: That's okay for a midfielder na. What about his assists? We arennt even talking of his constant 40 yards forward running threats on opponents in matches.his assists, i am sure more than half of them would have come from set plays too. All our midfielders couldn't contribute 10 goals in all competition last season. We played about 6 central midfielders.if any of them was the chief set piece taker instead of rooney/RVP then we would be having 10+ goal scoring midfielder. you cannot ignore awoof goals scored via penalties to boost the stats of players like gerrard, hazard, lampard & gerrard. |
elampiro: * Ronaldo was also anonymous in the UCL final. Does it take away all that he did through the season?ronaldo wasn't anonymous in the final - bale & di maria were too selfish when they should have passed to cristiano. in the end, he scored a goal & madrid won. * Suarez doesn't score in big games. Does it mean he's not the world best top 9 at the moment? Suarez won nothing last season. He failed in the Calrling cup and F A cup. Suarez is overrated according to your logic.how's suarez a top-9? which team has suarez ever played as a 9? elampiro, why do you misappropriate the facts to suit your argument? |
bammy: is there something like that ? ^^^yes.....there is. ultimate.premierleague.com |
elampiro: 4 free kicks, 1 from crossing and 2 from corner kicks. That's impressive to me. Only hat his penalties are too many- 6. Without penalties, he has 14 goals from 21 shot on target.without free-shots with defenders standing 10 yards away or facing a goalie one on one, toure would have gotten only 10 league goals. |
which of you fantasists is playing the ultimate version of the FPL? www.nairaland.com/attachments/1609059_image_jpeg9f360c5ab7736510df54c882e9dbf188 |
StarBoard: Omo at this point any signing will do.vidal is coming....... his injury is what louis van gaal is still assessing. paying that much for a crock would be disappointing especially when strootman is certainly joining in january. coogar will kill somebody.anderson ain't going nowhere. LVG has said he must assess everyone before making a decision. fellaini, anderson & carrick haven't been put through the tests yet. |
Janusz Michallik @JanuszESPNthere's nothing impressive with this stat considering the fact that 13 of those 20 goals were scored via set-piece. that's a whooping 65% of his total goals. 6 goals - penalties 4 goals - direct freekicks 1 goals - crossed freekicks 2 goals - corner kicks. |
SailorXY: will Cuadraro (altho he's versatile) be an upgrade on Valencia?i dunno why we are keeping valencia - he has the intelligence of a slug. cudrado is a huge upgrade on valencia. we should sell valencia to juventus to facilitate vidal's purchase. |
MRbrownJAY: come on bro, we dont drive at speed on an expressway looking at the sunshine, we focus on the road as soon as we give it some speed.....so the minute you see an obstacle in the distance, you slow down. these are basic road rules, especially if there is someone like a hawker rushing that car. you will have more chances having an accident with a fool who slowed down unexpectedly (on the left lane) to buy something rather than killing someone that was trying to sell something to that slowed down car. now let us all remember that driving fast on the expressway is done one the left side, and what fool would stop in that part of the road to buy from hawker?! if a person does NOT know about the road rules then they are to blame, no one else.lagos drivers don't stop because a hawker is approaching. they stop because they want to let someone alight from the bus or they are picking someone. with no brake-light, you are always in danger of hitting their vehicle. then there are idiotic hawkers who emerge in between already parked cars. some are rushing to go quickly get more bags of water from the other side of the road because a passenger in the bus just beckoned to him to bring some. the situation in lagos is pathetic. i don't even know who to blame. the kids risking their lives or the parents sending them on such a dangerous errands.....then the idiotic customers who only remember to buy stuff when their bus is about picking up speed...you see those kids give the bus a hot chase just to collect their money & so on and forth! |
MRbrownJAY: ^^^bro, i have been to 9ja many times, buses/okada or any other road users are not a problem when driving on an expressway. they may swerve around you but they wont suddenly appear in front of you (miraculously) attempting to cross the road.actually, his number 4 made the most sense. how would you know the car in front of you has slowed down when the car has no functional brake lights to warn you. this is nigeria we are talking about, driving there is chaotic. there are some roads i deliberately avoid even if the alternate route would take me 2-3 hours longer. you have to contend with cars, carts, bikes and brainless pedestrians who just cross the roads without fear or fervour. people still attempt to cross 4-lane expressways in lagos even when there's a pedestrian bridge next to them. |
elampiro: I think we need a world class defender. Not an Arsenal reject.if vermaelen is fit, he would be the best at carrying the ball out. this is exactly why we need vermaelen. hes ultra-comfortable in possession. jones isn't comfy with the ball at his feet, smalling is worse with distribution as well. |
elampiro: What do you think is so special about this guy? It looks like he's only coming to block our defenders from developing. The only advantage he has is his age (28 years, going to 29).block who? i hope he comes so that the white micah richards(jones) can learn from vermaelen. |
frank morris escaped & at least one of the brothers made it ashore. there are still active warrants for them so they would forever remain hidden. how they swam from alcatraz prison to the shore remains a mystery.... i used to be impressed with the alcatraz story until i read about a prisoner that achieved the unachievable in nigeria's most notorious prison(Tekunle prison). obasanjo built this prison as a secret prison to torture political prisoners. it's an island on the outskirts of lagos just like alcatraz except that the waters here are surrounded by about 5,000 crocodiles, notorious pythons, mosquitoes and all sorts. no human being would dare such a risky venture but a foreign prisoner did & he's still wanted by nigerian authorities. |
ashley young >>>>>> di maria. all we need now are the following players •vermaelen •blind •vidal |
CoCoLav: It depends on the law he is charged under. It is a highway offence so the punishment might not be the same as that of murder. If the police refuses to grant bail, he should get a lawyer ASAP to either settle or get bail from the court so he doesn't spend the weekend in jail.even when these kids throw themselves in front of a moving vehicle? parents should be getting arrested for leaving their kids by a big motorway. i dunno the details of this particular incident but if the driver kept to the speed limit of the motorway where the incident took place, he shouldn't have been arrested. |
jauntty: UPDATE : Police has refused to grant him bail. This is getting serious. Please, is this not a Bailable offensethey won't grant him bail unless he rubs the palms of the police officers. you better tell your friend to pay up as soon as he can before things escalate.... you dunno lagos police officers - they would soon substitute him for an armed robber son of a billionaire. the billionaire's son would be released & your friend would replace him. |
homesteady: Almost all big clubs are having a bad pre-season, except Man u! 'This is a bad omen'!it's not bad omen.... we are the only one that fell from a high position out of all the big clubs so we needed to start the season with all seriousness like we mean business. arsenal, chelsea & man city have nothing to prove. they all finished where one would expect them to finish. moyes got us into this pit and we must climb out of it first & foremost. |
JeffreyJamez: If it was on the express, and the boy crossed the road carelessly, with a good lawyer he has no fault.... but come to think of it.... what would a 10years old boy be doing on the express all alone?selling gala, mangoes, corn, pure water, etc. |
jauntty: Does that out of court mean compensating the family? Cos right now the family of the deceased boy are mourning and very angryyes, he will need to compensate the family of the deceased & rub the palms of the officers in charge of the case. quick settlement is his best option otherwise...........he might spend the next 20 years in kuje prison while awaiting trial. |
TV01: Libido almost always varies between couples and is more notable in the medium to long term. This is also one of the reasons why test-driving will often give you a false positive, as sex when a relationship is new and fresh can be quite lustful and frenzied for both parties.are you sure about this? ![]() |
debosky: We only play them twice in the league - remember that and they can only feature 14 players max in that game.d-ebola. i am heading to nigeria soon, what's the cute to the virus you have unleashed on your fellow nigerians? what & what do i need to do to stay immune to the virus strain. |
jauntty: Hello NLers....This incident happened today. A neighbor ran over a 10 years old kid on an express today and the boy died. I don't really know how it happens and so can't tell who is to blame. He has be arrested and have being in police custody since afternoon. The whole neighborhood is confused. what are the best way to resolve this, especially as it concerns the bereaved family. Please what are his options. Will he go to jailvehicular manslaughter! it depends on what really happened. was the driver drunk? did he overspeed? was the child at fault for crossing the road carelessly? you have to provide those facts before one can tell you how to go about it....... |
elampiro: ^he has messi? so valencia doesn't have rooney? abeg, messi/xavi take most of the set-pieces for barca. in alves' first 4 seasons - he generated 63 assists for barca. in 10/11, he had 15 opta assists. that's probably around 28 assists if you use the premier league standard. |
elampiro: * Lampard and Gerald are way too far ahead for Pirlo and Xavi to catch up. They may catch Gerald on assist thou.you never know - the way chelsea fans have been shouting lampard's name, would you ever have guessed scholes is better than him with goals/assists stripped down to open play stats? * Young has many assist, but he has never played as number 2. One reason Val's assists may have dropped. I think it was only Val's first season he didn't play many matches as a number 2.and a certain baines copped gazillion of assists from the same position. dani alves had about 30 assists in one season for barcelona from the same position. full-backs cop assists too, valencia has no excuse - he's just a very poor footballer. elampiro: Gerald has 166 assist? Then Xavi and Pirlo can't ever get close to that, even after salt and pepper have been filtered out.only 98 of them were from open play. |
premier league all time assists 284 - giggs 173 - lampard 166 - gerrard 152 - beckham 147 - bergkamp 144 - henry 142 - rooney 138 - scholes 135 - cole 126 - anderton 122 - shearer 119 - fabregas |
elampiro: Lol.by the time you strip down the stats by looking at the minutes played, open play assists & goals excluding penalties, i won't be surprised xavi/pirlo would be better per minute. scholes is far superior to any midfielder in the premier league. i would even take cesc fabregas before lampard & gerrard. i just saw a list of the top 20 assist makers in the history of premier league and......... ashley young is 17th on that chart! the same ashley young that many fans here have condemned as a damaged good! ![]() elampiro: Lol. elampiro: * When I saw this post, I knew it would cause a war, then I looked up and I saw two pages were running already.explain how scholes lost to lampard. ![]() |
tess1: You got the bold wrong from the stat posted by coogar. Rather, Lampard had more assists (58) than Scholes (18) in set play.elampiro has always been poor reading statistics. he had F in general mathematics in SSCE. scholes had 120 open play assists, lampard had 115 open play assists and lampard played 11,000 more league minutes than scholes. elampiro still thinks lampard is better? ![]() lampard scored 129 league goals(excluding penalties), scholes scored 106 league goals(excluding penalties) but lampard played 11,000 more minutes than scholes.... elampiro still thinks lampard is better? |
elampiro: * When I saw this post, I knew it would cause a war, then I looked up and I saw two pages were running already.are you blind? how did scholes lose to lampard on stats? can you read stats at all? scholes destroyed lampard in every parameter if you take lampard's penalty stats out of the equation. you are looking at sheer numbers without the number of minutes played. lampard has played 11,000 minutes more. he's scored 43 goals via penalties & you are saying scholes lost? |
Nihilist: Just checked.durability is the only thing lampard has over any midfielder that has ever lived. lampard's engine is rolls royce. he missed only 3 league games in 4 seasons at a point in his career. that's some crazy stats! |
Nihilist: No way.go & update your stats then.... my stats took all the goals & assists lampard has scored in his entire career(west ham + swansea + chelsea). besides, premier league only started computing assist charts in 06/07 so you won't get an accurate stats on their site. |
Nihilist: I don't think Lampard has up to 173 league assists.he does..... |
nihilist & his mate don run away..... lampard na servant to scholes. scholes generated 1 league assist every 261 minutes. lampard generated 1 league assist every 277 minutes. meanwhile, truckloads of lampard's assists came via set plays and despite that, he still got beaten by scholes per minute. what's the comparison? |
