Ogbeche77: Pogba winning Golden Ball at the just concluded U20.. Damn
We had this dude & we threw him away, now we are fighting tooth & nail to acquire a certain Thiago.. One of the things I can't forgive SAF for
yes, we threw him away for scholes and giggs(two geriatrics that are supposed to have packed it in). he is exactly what we needed in that midfield as we speak.

elampiro: They were leading West Brom 4-2 and not 5-2 and the match eventually ended 5-5. That distort the 100% record. No match ends at 70 mins. What about Barca match Anderson went out and United sustained the lead? Who knows what would have happened had he not left at half time. Football is not mathematics.
this is how i would expect a goat to reason...
so if cleverley went off at 4-2 when united is leading, then he's responsible for the game ending 5-5? even if your IQ is subzero, shouldn't you know only the period anderson & cleverley were together on the pitch as midfielders can be analysed?

I just left my laptop now, using my phone. In one of the FA cup matches, Cleverly started from the flank.
stop lying....
cleverley did not start as a winger in the FA cup. if he did, tell us which one instead of wallowing in being a pathological liar.

My point is, the so called 100% blablabla is not necessary. There is nothing important there because they only did it without another midfield player in just three league matches. Fletcher was there against one FA cup and a league game while Carrick was there in the rest. So what's the big deal? The matches are just too few to judge. I wish they can be given a run of 15 matches.
you are a disgrace....
10 different matches that include tough teams like spurs, arsenal and man city, etc are too few to draw a conclusion? why not shut your mouth and admit you have been sonned nice again with your baseless and idiotic submission.....

your biggest weakness is you don't know when to stop opening your mouth. you want to blame the anderson/cleverley axis for the 5-5 draw @ west brom when one of them sat out the last 30 mins on the bench?

come on, you are plumbing new depths of idiocy....

elampiro: I haven't the time to go into such details. All I know is they have now lost a match they started together. That was a record for them before, now it is gone. I also know they played along Flecther (Newcastle FA cup), Carrick and Jones in the midfield to achieve some of these results. I also know they have only 3 league wins with only two of them marshaling the midfield only by themselves. So I see no big deals in these matches because they are too few to draw a conclusion as to them being able to take our midfield tot the promised land.
they have not lost a game they started together as central midfielders. the premise of this argument as always centred on their partnership in the midfield. i fail to see a game where cleverley playing a winger as a midfield partnership with anderson. when you are defeated in an argument, learn to raise your hands up and bow to superior points!

anderson/cleverley have played 10 games together as central midfielders including 6 premier league games - the statistics read 100% win record. you can twist, bend, distort and lie but these are the facts......i know grasping at straws is your hobby when you have been pilloried.

in 2011/12, they beat west brom(2-1), spurs(3-0), arsenal(8-2) and were leading(1-0) to bolton before cleverley went off injured. in 2012/13, they murdered fulham(3-2) and were leading west brom(5-2) when fergie took off cleverley around the hour mark!!!
Politics › Re: Under What Moral Grounds Does Soyinka Speak (father Of Cultism In Nigeria) by coogar: 10:06pm On Jul 13, 2013
The main objectives of the seadogs have been summarized by Orintusin (1990). They are as follows; (i) to fight non-violently but intellectually and effectively, against the imposition of foreign conventions, to revive the age of chivalry, (ii) to find a lasting solution to the problems of tribalism and elitism.

Professor Wole Soyinka was the first democratically elected “captain” of the society with the name, Captain blood (Orintusin 1990). Professor Muyiwa Awe was Long John Silver. Many prominent Nigerians who were founding fathers of the Confraternity include Pius Oleghe, Ralph Opara Aig I’Moukhuede and others. The outfit of the seadogs resembled those of the pyrates of the old. Everything done was healthy, fun and harmless (Orintusin 1990).

Professor Soyinka (2002) comments that the pyrates wanted to be different from the “stodgy establishment and its pretentious products in a new educational institution different from a culture of hypocritical and affluent middleclass, different from alienated colonial aristocrats”.

Professor Soyinka also explained that confraternities are not cults (Dixon 1994). According to him, Confraternity was part of the social life of the university, which existed then, and as Adebayo (2001) has pointed out some evil minds have twisted the original aims of this noble tradition that was simply one of campus life. Soyinka further points out that the original Confraternity did not swear any oath of secrecy, no binding of blood and the identities of members were known to both students and staff (Adiamoh 2003).

Long after the founding fathers had left the University of Ibadan, the Confraternity (seadogs) continued to thrive. Unfortunately towards the end of the 1960’s, the social, political and educational changes which were occurring in Nigeria began to affect the operations of the Confraternities.

According to Adelola (1997), the first notable departure came in 1968 with the formation of the Eiye Confraternity at the University of Ibadan. According to Owoeye (1997) the Eiye Confraternity had sprung from the “Bucaneers” which also had sprung up from the sea dogs. The major force that led to the formation of new splinter groups from the sea dogs was basically doctrinal (Thomas 2002). For example, members of the new groups were not able to meet the high academic standard originally set by the sea dogs Confraternity.

The nascent groups which were formed from the sea dogs regarded the pyrates as rather elitist whose campaigns had outlived their usefulness (Owoeye 1997). The protestant groups which sprang up from the Pyrates Confraternity included, Black eye, Vikings, Bucaneers, Mafia, dragons, Black Beret and others. The female cults include, Temple of Eden, Frigrates, Barracudas, Daughters of Jezebel and others.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 9:40pm On Jul 13, 2013
elampiro: 1. You brought the issue of substitution.
because you were hanging loosely on the final result of the west brom game that ended 5-5. it was 5-2 with the midfield partnership of anderson/cleverley. it stopped being their partnership the moment one of them got substituted.

2. Can you list the 9 matches they played together and the final results? How many league games, FA cup, Carling cup and preseason matches. What I have is that they have played 4 league games together. In another league game, Cleverly was used in the wide. Give us the details so that we can analyse properly.
go find that out yourself but stop trying to distort the facts....

3. My aim now is to know their actual record so that we know the streak to follow.
their record is 100% when they have both played together as central midfielders. if you think the claim is wrong, this is your chance to prove me wrong.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 9:15pm On Jul 13, 2013
elampiro: So, now we can conclude that the matches both started together and non of then was substituted are:

3 league games only. I didn't check if any of them was substituted in the FA cup. In the Barca friendly Anderson was substituted for Giggs.

So we can conclude that they won only three games together.
surely, this is a wind-up!
what were the results of the games when they were both on the pitch before their substitutions? shouldn't that be the determinant? must both play the whole 90 mins of a match before we can analyse their strengths? anderson/cleverley have played about 9 games together as central midfielders with 100% win record...

that's the single most important fact!

Can you help out with the line up and substitution in these FA cup matches you listed above?
were you banned from using google?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 8:37pm On Jul 13, 2013
elampiro: So now we can conclude thus:

Anderson and Cleverly starting together that have produced 100% in 7 league games and 2 preseason matches have been broken now. Although the West Brom game was not even a victory but I want to ignore for the purpose of this argument.
it's not broken....
the crux of their success is their midfield partnership. if one or both of them are not played as central midfielders then it's not a partnership and it renders your argument null and void. if one of them gets subbed like it happened in the 5-5 against west brom, how then can you call it partnership when one of them has been subbed? it ends being a partnership the moment one of them was subbed and the score as at then was 5-2 to man utd.

this is english, not calculus....

What is left to be broken?
1. Anderson and Cleverly starting and playing midfield alone. 3 League matches, 1 other league match Cleverly went out in early minutes and 2 preseason games.

2. Anderson and Cleverly starting, and mixed with another midfield player. 5 league games and 2 preseasons.

Now let's see how long this streak will go if none is sold. I don't want to go into a prolong argument on this.
they played together as central midfielders against cluj(europe away game), reading(fa cup) newcastle(league cup) and we won those games too. they have a winning streak when stationed side by side on the pitch.

elampiro: Coogar danced in different directions depending on what he wanted to defend. At a time he said when both paired, some other time he said when both started, like the West Brom game. That was actually his last position- they United never lost a match when both started. They have only paired in 3 league matches in full and two preseasons.
so when did they both start for united in the games i listed that had cleverley playing far from anderson? your arguments are always spineless......learn how to read, learn how to argue. in the game against west brom, cleverley-anderson midfield were winning 5-2 when cleverley went off.

As for his insults, who cares anymore? I push my points through and I wait for reactions.

dayokanu: Was it not on this thread about 2 months ago some twerps were hyping Welbeck and even comparing him to Gundogan, Gotze, Kroos etc.

I told you most EPL fans dont know shiit about football
he's better than all of them put together....besides none of the players you mentioned above play as centre-forwards. this time last year, welbeck was leading the england attack in the euros and scoring....you have the stupïd knack of comparing apples with oranges!

Purist: haha, I knew this was going to pop up! grin

Cleverley played as a right winger today, not CM. I believe Coogar's argument has always been that a 2-man MIDFIELD PAIRING of Anderson-Cleverley has always won us matches. Not that if they are both simply on the pitch at the same time. Today's midfield pairing was Anderson-Carrick.

Note: this clarification is simply to mitigate coogar's inevitable insult coming your way you when he sees your post. grin
elampiro has problems with english language. he still fails to understand the meaning of midfield partnership. i am sure he thinks evra and rafael have a partnership whenever they both start a game together.

Don't even start a convo on subsidy, because we all know this country has been mismanaged over the years. Subsidy removal which of course you all stood against was well thought out idea designed to help NIgerians at the end of the day. The only issues I had with it at the time was the timing. So it is not in anyway super patriotic for your almighty Soyinka to protest with you backed by hidden agendas. Your fickleness in what is required informs your opinion on your views.
you are a product of a polyandrous marriage...

what is it with you people and ignorance. fraternity groups in soyinka days were different to what obtains today. i don't blame you though, you have never stepped foot outside your village to know nearly all the prestigious schools abroad all have fraternity/soriotity groups. george bush senior/junior were frat members. notable other world leaders were also into fraternity. you need to educate yourself first before opening that cesspit you call a mouth.....

i cannot see why patience goodluck's tyranny cannot be questioned. when soyinka was organising rallys in the abacha days, where was patience and her fisherman husband? the democracy you and your association of mental handicaps are enjoying today were the perspiration of the people like soyinka. one of the disadvantages of the internet is it allows demented people like yourself to get 2 minutes of fame driven by acute stupidity!
